Broken search function, or something.

I can't bring up topics i'm looking for by searching for terms I know are mentioned within the said thread.
Meaning i'd have to dig them up by going back pages and pages and pages.
Anyone know why the search function seems to be "broken" like this? I know the topics didn't fall off the face of the Earth.
Everynow and again the forum will cut back the pages you can search to. If this didn't happen then the forum would not function properly.

Should this housekeeping function not be restricted to threads that are older or more or less inactive?
I have been unable to call up my one and only warmaking RP on II, and I have been in it twice this week.

Can't you use "View your Posts" to find it easily? Searching on your own posts goes back all the way.
