How is the delegate chosen?
What happens if there are multiple nations which tie in first place for their endorsment count. who gets selected as delegate?
I think then it is the first one to get the most, that was the case in my region, I have the same number of endosements as my delegate does.

Also, from personal experience I strongly suspect the game does not favour the incumbent. So if you are a Delegate with 15 endorsements, and someone else reaches 15, they take over as Delegate. They do not have to exceed your total.

what would happen if you had 15 (the most) and you went down to 10 and tied with multiple people?

No idea. I can't imagine it happens often.

When I took over as delegate(from Bananapple, now deceased), CG and I both had three endorsements, but I was the senior regional member (obviously as founder), and therefore became delegate.

actually it can happen quite often, my region has been rotating delegates for the past week or so, due to tied endorsements.
and it's not because we have any power struggles, we just all endorsed each other for secuirty reasons.

At some point I'll try to figure this out.

Well, I have your answer, but you're not going to like it. As far as I can tell there is no rhyme nor reason to how the ties are broken. If anyone has any suggestions on whether/how this should be fixed, post them here and I'll pass them on to [violet] (of course, like all game changes, don't get your hopes up).

Maybe the ties could be broken by when the nations were last active?

Well next update I'll tell you how our region's tie will be broken. It's tied between me and the founder, and I think I'll loose the delecacy.

I would suggest that you give some precedence to the old delegate.

Personally, I'd prefer to preserve the incumbent's position. Plus, it will be easier for [violet] to code.
I'd prefer that the incumbent not be favored, myself. >_>
The drama of Lodoss's UN delegacy:
1) Menelmacar is delegate
2) I skillfully endorse everyone except Menelmacar and wait for her supporters to die/be booted.
3) However, CHELLIS takes the delegacy by withdrawing his support for Menelmacar!
4) I unendorse Chellis at 11:58 at night, expecting to become delegate as I would have 1 more endorsement than he.
5) However, Lavenrunz takes over; she and I have the same number of endorsements.
6) I withdraw support for Lav
7) Menelmacar goes back to being delegate
8 ) I reendorse Lav
It's not easy usurping power.

Err...
I unendorsed you, raevyn, after you un-endorsed me... Before I was kicked off delegate scene...

Current plans are to change it so that the current delegate keeps the position if their tied for it. However, if the current delegate isn't keeping the position (or there isn't a delegate yet), it's random. Do we have a recommendation for breaking that tie?

Could it be based on the order in the XML feed (regional list of nations)? Basically, whoever was earlier to last enter the region gets 'seniority' would be my suggestion. Even as general tie-breaker, not just when there is no previous delegate.

Actually, through pure chance, I think that's the way it will work. Not by plan though. We should wait and see.

I don't think so. I had a region briefly with me (when I was in the UN) and one other UN nation. We agreed to endorse each other - he endorsed me first, but when we both had each other's endorsements he was the delegate.

Insolence! Don't speak to your future delegate like that.

Thanks to some code from SalusaSecondus, from today you need more endorsements than the current UN Delegate to usurp him/her, not just the same number.
If there's a tie and no current delegate, the nation that has been resident in the region the longest becomes Delegate.
