Terms & Conditions of Use
In English
NationStates is a free online political game. Players are expected to respect the fun, humorous atmosphere of the game, and remain civil when interacting with each other. You understand that this is the case, and agree that NationStates.net is a forum, not a publisher, and is not responsible for posts by players.

Hmm, you know something, that is an excellent question. I'm not sure if we have one. Probably something to look into.

However, I am willing to trust my e-mail to this site and I'm a bit banal about that so I wouldn't worry. I will poke around a bit though.

P.S. I'm referring to an actual Privacy Policy, not just the TOS.
edit by Sirocco; 'banal sounds better than 'anal' especially when you say you're going to poke around a bit afterwards...

Good Q. Prob should put a privacy policy together as soon as you can, just to have it all in gloss.

You can just steal one from another site can't you?

The privacy policy pops up if you click the link next to where you supply your e-mail address when creating a nation: You don't need to supply your e-mail, but it's recommended. [Why? (http://www.nationstates.net/why_email.html)]

This is what it says:

Why Supply Your E-mail Address?
It's not essential, but it means that if you forget your password, it can be mailed out to you. Otherwise your nation will be lost to you forever. You don't want that. Think of your poor people.

Privacy Policy: Your e-mail address is kept private and will not be spammed. To date, I have sent only one e-mail to NationStates players: in January 2003, to announce the publication of my novel Jennifer Government, on which NationStates is based. I have no plans to send another e-mail, but if I decide to, I promise that such mail will be very infrequent, related to NationStates and/or my novels, and will allow you to unsubscribe. Your e-mail address will never be given to any third party.
