Type the URL of your image here[/url]

For example: [code:1:a219a46668][img]http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/images/avatars/capitol.gif[/img][/code:1:a219a46668] results in [img]http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/images/avatars/capitol.gif

Find a picture that is on the internet, and then place the url between two image tags

[code:1:4dfcce39bc] [img]http://domain.com/img.gif[/img] [/code:1:4dfcce39bc]

Two things:

- link to an image, not an HTML page
- the last part should be [/img] instead of [img]

You forgot the slash in the last tag. Anyway, you can't show html here.

You cant post .html as a picture. It has to be a .gif, .jpg, or .some other picture file to post.

I wonder if newbs usually read my FAQ.

I've noticed a reduction in some questions, but others like this seem to be just as common as ever.

I guess that time will tell all.

No amount of FAQs will stop the most basic and common of all tech threads: the 'how do you post a picture' thread.

Good point.

A whole sticky on how to post images would have little effect.

You could send out a mass tm with "this is how you post pics and links" and we would still get these threads.

Its right up there with 'i n00ks j00' threads. I mean, there is even the BBCode link right in the corner, but still they ask.

I clicked on the link before posting anything on here.

*exudes self importance*

Of course, I'd already known it was there from the official Kucinich campaign volunteer forum. . .
