POP UPS! Help!
I once read a post on NS that included a way to go into your computer (Windows) and disable popup ads. I don't wanna download any programs or anything, but I went somewhere into my computer and disabled them and they were gone!
I think they came back because my brother did something... So I just need to know how to do it again.
If you can tell me or redirect me to that post, I'd appreciate it!

Its easy to get rid of pop-ups, but you will have to download some applications.
to block pop ups you will need to download a pop-up killer or install a firewall. Pop-up killers can be found by searching for then in google.
Also Ad-aware is a good program to download. It will remove all adware and spyware from your comp.
Well, my recomendation is Analog-X popup-stopper, it uses window titles to block pop-ups. Unfortunetly, you have to make the database from basically scratch, but mine is just over 3.25k titles, and I rarly see unwanted pop-ups anymore.
If you have a version of NT (nt4, 2000 or xp) and assuming you do not use net send you can disable messenger.
start > run > services.msc > rclick messenger, stop and disable.
You can also use the hosts thing (search google) to block specific sites and you can use a browser that blocks popups like opera (http://www.opera.com).
Oh and adaware is always nice.
Download the new Google Toolbar...it includes a really easy to configure Pop-Up Blocker and it also adds a quick search to your browser.
