The most I have seen is four. When I submitted an issue, I stuck to that as a maximum.

That's POLL options, not issue choices.
Suggestion: edit the first post in this topic and add a poll, with options. Try out for yourself how many are possible! When you're done, let us all know what the answer is (and remove the poll).
My guess is '5' is the maximum.

I've always heard five, but I once saw a really old one with more then that (all of which were valid choices, it wasn't one of those messed up poles)

I've seen plenty of poles where the creator complains that they wanted more options...
The answer is five. It used to be a lot more but it was cut down.
