Tax cuts or no?

My tax rate is currently at 11%, and the issue I just recieved gives me the option to lower taxes even more or use the money to help with education. My only problem is that I want to get my economy up from Strong to Very Strong. Can I afford to spend on education instead of giving tax cuts?

I would advise you to spend on education and subsequently make decisions which are likely to cause increased taxation - increased state and military spending, subsidies for industry, etc. That way, your taxation will be a bit healthier, and your economy should improve too. But of course, you have to balance political factors too. It is often quite hit and miss and take a while to get right.

Alright thanks a lot. Also, I got the option to mine uranium twice. Each time I only chose to mine the part of the rainforest that has the uranium in it, and now it says that my nation is barren and inhospitable! Any way to fix that?

 Uh, you should have probably dismissed it after the first time. Those effects are very long term, weeks at least. I once spoke to a nation who had the world's worst weather in the UN rankings, and (s)he said it had all begun a month previously, when (s)he had decided to mine uranium.

On the Uranium issue, it's better to either chop it all down or none of it down.
To improve it, the next time you get the issue, don't touch the rainforest, unless you want to improve the economy.

Oops, puppet.

Wow. Well I guess I'll just have to be patient and wait for it to come around again (hopefully that'll be soon). I thought the uranium mining was a good thing since I'm "too young" to buy any on the market, but oh well. Next time I'll know better.

By the way, the environment situation is reversible, right?

I think the environment is recoverable, but such changes take a very long time.

Try banning mining next time, see what happens, and keep an eye on your UN rankings. You may have to do that for a while. Also give your national animal protected status.
