A real possible way of war

I know that you have a lot of people asking for war in the forum, but I've got a really good idea.
First, nations willing to go to risk losing a war will sign up on a UN table or something.
Then, there could be a war proposal section that only the moderators or very high up, respected nations can vote on, where a UN delegate proposes a nation to attack and why.
If a war proposal is passed, it becomes a resolution for the whole UN to vote on.
If this resolution is passed, the moderators select a randomised group of 2 or nations from the UN table of war and send them into battle.
If their combined army force (added up by how they handle issues) is greater than the attacked nation, the nation is either deleted or sent to a region like the rejected realms that they can't get out of wih a population of one.
If the attacked nation wins, the attacking nations are either deleted or their population falls to one and they are sent to the region that they can't escape from.
A nation can only get out of the rejected region if a special proposal is passed by all the delegates to let them escape.

I like it :)
But you will not see me on that table :P

Um, disclude the Mods from that and then garner support...however, this will not be an official game rule...

bad idea, you lose a war and as a consequence you're deleted.

Deletion powers are only granted to trusted Game Moderators and Admins, and that's the way it should stay. There are plenty of malevolent groups that would like nothing more than to exploit some loophole to delete their enemies.

And what if a bunch of people declared war on the head of a region? IF the invadee lost, the region would be vulnerable.

nations would not neccersarily get deleted if they lose. It says: They might get sent to a region with a population of one and can only leave if another resolution.

a nation would not have to risk war. They can not sign up on the table if they want. That's what it says

There are some really interesting ideas here, and I have a few notes:

Any system you design must be able to run without mod/admin intervention
Any system you design must require no special coding changes to the site. (However, if you come up with a really useful change that everyone will benefit from, and isn't too difficult it might happen).
We will not officially endorse this idea.

However. you can definitely use outside forums to organize this, build a full rule table for the wars, appoint referees, and have a great time. You can even decide upon the penalties for loss, however they must not require mod/admin action.

I'm sure that you'll come up with something.

Two good places you could make a forum are

http://www.proboards.com (easeier)

http://www.invisionfree.com (more customizable)

I think that this really should be a way of war. It doesn't need much moderation in the game, no new version of Nationstates that a money is needed for, and it provides an element of risk in the game. The part with it having to be approved by the mods is like it being passed through parliament. Also, this way, there won't be really strong nations that go round invading people, knowing that they can't be beaten. I suppose that there should be a reward for someone who wins a war to get more people to sign onto the table. Perhaps a higher population or a number one spot on the military spending list.

I doubt it, there are a lot of ideas floating around, we can't sticky all the reasonable ones.

And on that note, can someone sticky the NationStates Map Service and NationStates National Anthem Service threads?

What's the point of posting ideas if no-one will officially endorse the ideas?

The players may adopt it themselves. Not everything needs to be run by the moderators.

How can a player adopt it by themself? It says it needs a new proposal section

Threads in the forum, off site pages, you name it, it can be done. We're not going to though.

Just to step in for a moment... like it or not, but Region Crashing is a real way for war in this game...
