php question regarding old posts

Sorry if this has been up before, but old threads seems do disappear? Are threads automaticly deleted after 3 months of inactivity or so?

Yes, some of the forums have a prune set on, either for a certain amount of posts, or all posts older than blah date. It stops them getting outrageously large, not that 300 + pages isn't outrageously large... :P

Incidentally, it makes a good point. ]That is a good idea. Although then we need a way to find a proposal by referring to its ID number. I'll stick it on the to-do list. I wonder if this was replaced by the proposal search function....

It does not do that on every fourm. It does it on (I think) NationStates, I-I, and General.

I believe the mods delete long forgotten or locked threads periodically to free up more space on the server.

What I do wonder is why the pages are still there, when the only things left are the announcements.

That would be a standard phpbb bug I think. You'll see that even without deleting threads I believe.
