i'm new, how do you get to the "regional controll" page????

You can't unless you are a regional delegate. As you are not even a member of the UN, this would be difficult.

You can only get to the Regional Control page if:

1) You are the Founder of the region in question.

2) You are its UN Delegate (a UN member and possessing the greatest number of endorsements in the region) and the Founder, if there is one, has allowed you access to Regional Control. If you are the UN Delegate of a Founderless region, you automatically have access.

EDIT: To get a feel for how it works, you can create your own region temporarily, experiment a bit with password and Factbook Entry changes, and ejecting a puppet nation (a second one which you might want to create). Once your curiousity is satisfied, get all your nations to exit the region and it will die (ie disappear) within a day. In any case, the Regional Control page is only of great significance to a relatively small number of nations - the Founders and UN Delegates of those regions large enough to have unwelcome guests, and warrant regular announcements in the Factbook Entry. Unless you create a region and it somehow becomes popular, you will not really need it that much.

Can you define "popular"? I have nine or ten different people in my region(ten UN members on main nation not in the UN, and two likely puppets), but three or four of them seem to have left their nations in to my region to die, and then about twice a week a player joins, and then an hour later leaves.

I have to update my factbook entry with regularity, due to the changing url of the map.

I would define a popular region as one in which there is regular activity, some through traffic, for example a nation passing through every couple of days, allied regions or at any rate ones aware of its existence, frequent message board chat, etc. Obviously, any definition more concrete is going to appear arbitrary. The vast majority of NS regions are not popular by these rough criteria, as they are either home to only one or a small handful of nations, and/or are otherwise dead.

EDIT: What I am saying is, it takes a lot of effort to build up a decent active region, or win Delegacy by legal means through loyal service. It took me 7 weeks to become the UN Delegate of a 60 nation region. The Regional Control page should therefore probably be a relatively unimportant consideration for a new player. Still, the information is there, should (s)he need it.

Regular activty- Yup.

Through traffic- not every other day, but still frequently.

Existance Awareness- Yes, Sirocco knows about it, and except for my puppets(all but three non-UN members are my puppets), Canada-Germany and Lamentus, all current members found it on their own.

Message board activity- yes, at the start f school it died down to the oldest post being almost a week. Then it revived, now it's steady, but slow (the oldest being a week.

I've run this region since July 4, and only became delegate nine days ago.

It also took until about two or three weeks ago until people began coming in without me having to invite them.

What can I say, I am damn good! :grin: I read the FAQ, joined a largish power and was quite helpful, walked into the Defence Ministry post when it opened and became quite good at the whole diplomacy / dirty tricks thing, getting to know a lot of nations in other places and doing this or that, all in the interests of my region. This was recognised and I became the de facto deputy to the Founder and UN Delegate. After I got an unexpected opportunity to successfully demonstrate my crisis management skills, I became UN Delegate, and continued with my activities, some intelligence work, some war. I was replaced after a while, but was quickly returned, once that nation quit. Now my region is in terminal decline, and I am getting more interested in holding it together and playing a part in the UN, but spending a few months as an obscure military consultant was great fun! :grin:

Maybe this is a bit out of place in Technical, but who knows, it might help some newb get an idea of what they can do. Confusion reigns . . . I should do more work on my region directory.

It took me about a month to become delegate (of a 40-50 nation region...we had a lot more members once), but that's because we're mostly from http://www.democraticunderground.com/
