Add some spice to your password!

In order to prevent anyone discovering your nation's password,remeber to make it fairly long and unique,and also throw in some numbers:

1234567890

and the fun part,Special Charachters!!

¢ Ø £ ¤ ¥ Û ¦ Ü § ¨ Þ © ¬ ã ® ä ¯ å ° æ ± ç ² è ³ é ´ ê µ ë ì • í ¸ î ¹ ï º ð » ¼ !@#$%^&*|

wohoo!

Better ideas from Salusa(just thought I'd put them here where more people can see them,at least I'm sometimes too lazy to read a whole thread and my first post was pretty much useless):

Ok, my formal suggestion regarding passwords, first, try not to use special Characters (basically anything you can't easily type on a American keyboard). However, for a truly secure password:

The password should be a minimum of 8 letters long

The password should contain letters, numbers, and special symbols (as in the characters above the numbers, braces, punctuation, etc.)

The password should be miXEd CasE.

The password should not be/contain a word in any language.

The password should not consist of personal information (i.e. phone number, date of birth, address, name of your nation, or e-mail address)

The password should not be used for ANY OTHER accounts on ANY OTHER systems

DS, you make a really good point. My NS passwords are not highly secure, but secure enough for this. There are tricks to building easily rememberable passwords that follow all of the words.

1) Take a foreign word.
2) Transcribe it (if necessary), and then mispell it.
3) Replace letters with similar symbols/numbers (e->3, a->4, s->$, a->@, etc.)
4) Mix up the case.

That's actually very easy to remember.

Or, of course, you can do what I do, which is to keep a text file on my computer containing all of them . . . . with the strongest encryption I can manage and an extremely long passphrase.

For other who were wondering:

Individuals with AS can exhibit a variety of characteristics and the disorder can range from mild to severe. Persons with AS show marked deficiencies in social skills, have difficulties with transitions or changes and prefer sameness. They often have obsessive routines and may be preoccupied with a particular subject of interest. They have a great deal of difficulty reading nonverbal cues (body language) and very often the individual with AS has difficulty determining proper body space. Often overly sensitive to sounds, tastes, smells, and sights, the person with AS may prefer soft clothing, certain foods, and be bothered by sounds or lights no one else seems to hear or see. It's important to remember that the person with AS perceives the world very differently. Therefore, many behaviors that seem odd or unusual are due to those neurological differences and not the result of intentional rudeness or bad behavior, and most certainly not the result of "improper parenting".

The problem with those rules is that they necessitate the recording of the passwords somewhere other than your own head. If it's not easily remembered, you have to write it down, and most people are idiots about where they keep their password list. (Such as a former boss, who kept it taped to the side of his monitor. He still doesn't know who went in and changed all of his Windows system sounds to screaming monkeys. :lol: )

My password has meaning to me, but nobody but me knows what that meaning is. So it's easily remembered, and isn't any more vulnerable to cracking than one of your supposedly "secure" passwords - you'd still need to use a brute-force attack to crack it.

I do believe the first step towards computer security is not disclosing passwords. Even a simple one requires a great deal of effort to break if you do not know what it is. Rather like not leaving a set of house keys under the Welcome mat.

A conlang is a constructed (?) language. Basically it is an artificial language. Some famous ones are Klingon, Elvish, and Esperanto. However, there are many others made by people across the world (often linguists). I've considered doing it several times, but haven't gotten around to it.

And there would probably not be a problem with using words from a conlang, though I would advise against any of the famous ones.

I've used Esperanto passwords before. I think the password I forgot may have been in Esperanto, but with the anti-hacking wrong password limit, I couldn't try everything I thought it might have been.
Before the wrong password limit, I used a password made of two English words. Someone tried to get into my account (among many others), but failed.
04-10-2003, 01:15
I make passwords by:

1. Think of a statement that discribes yourself;
"When I'm mad, I'll punch you in the throat"
2. Keep only the first letter of each word;
"wimipyitt"
3. Rearrange the letters to make a nonsensical phrase;
"i pit my wit"
4. Now bring it all together;
"ipitmywit"

Then say it 20 times fast, don't stop 'till you get it right. You'll never forget it as long as you live.
