1°)region crashing safe? /2°)forum structure

1°) I'm sorry, been strolling around the boards, but not really finding the answer to my question yet. Being the following: "Region crashing looks like fun. However, there's always the founder problem. What if you make a major invasion into a region of people who keep to themselves (eg. a friends' clique)? Say you get a Region Delegate elected, and he has region control as well... the sensible response of the Founder would be to kick all those who helped the invader get elected, and then the invasion has been fruitless! Is there a way to get around this? If not, I don't really see the point of region crashing."

We don't want to get into region griefing, just good harmless fun.

edit: 2°) Almost forget about this... in the FAQ made by the Nazi mod (pardon the pun) it says that you shouldn't post new posts before checking the other threads. I want to respect that, yet I don't feel the inclination to read text that contains 0.1% of useful information and 99.9% of people saying the same things or posting unrelated stuff. Like one of the links to a region control thread that's been made in the other Technical stickie, which has two or three useful posts in the beginning, and after that a lot of whining.
My suggestion therefore is to structure this forum a bit: demand that topic titles show some relevance to the subject at hand, and demand people to stay on topic. I'd rather a billion small threads with specific titles, so I know which ones to click, than these megathreads with totally unrelated BS.

The sensible response for a region founder who wants to "keep" his/her region is to password protect it.

Not to mention not allowing UN delegates to get Region Control, granted; plus, I infiltrated the region 8)

note: not by cracking the password or anything, I know the community the clique people come from, and therefore knew 'details' about their members that made them believe I was part of the gang.

With so many players, it is impossible to expect everyone to adhere to such etiquette. Making subject titles long and descriptive rather than short "Look at this!" clones, and staying on-topic, are things which we should all try to do, but not everyone will. If you wish, you can have the satisfaction of knowing that you are doing your bit. ;)

If you really want to crash a region, without spoiling the fun for others, just search for region with a founder that hasn't been active for a few days. Chances are that you succeed in you invasion if you are superior. There is nothing wrong with some honest fun

You could also take over a old region where no one is active and revitalized it.

Sounds a bit devious :D

I R teh devious :D. No, seriously, the most fun I've had yet was getting kicked off (because it was a region for that community), and then convincing them of allowing us back on. The region crashing doesn't matter much to me, but I would like to show them how devious we've all been. However, it would be a bit of an anti-climax if they were able to undo it by simply kicking all of us, including our delegate, back off, now wouldn't it?

But if the founder is active, can't he just kick our whole lot without getting sanctioned? Thát's my whole point. I've read somewhere else that a founder can kick everybody in his region (which kinda makes sense; it's his region). So, it's good fun to get our boy elected, but as soon as the founder is back on, he can kick us all of and become delegate again!

I was just hoping we can do something to show him that we screwed him; if only temporarily, just for teasers. Voting a resolution he doesn't like would be one thing, but that takes quite some time. Changing the World Factbook would probably be the best possible option.
Other suggestions? Greatest idea would be if we could steal his Delegacy, but that probably isn't possible.

There is no way of getting around a Founder, if one is present, or if Delegate access to Regional Control has been disabled. If you get a sufficiently large number of endorsements, you could take Delegacy, but would eventually be ejected. If you become Delegate and find that Regional Control is granted to Delegates, you could change the Factbook Entry, being careful not to be gratuitously insulting. That too would count as raising your flag over the region. Ejecting natives would be unnecessary and deplorable however, and too many ejections could be considered to be griefing, for which the penalties are severe.

Attacking a Founderless region is a way of avoiding all such pitfalls. Personally, I would disapprove of that even more, but if that is the way you wish to play the game . . .

No fun in attacking without the challenge...

I've already motivated the more reckless and agressive minds of our group to do nothing but the Factbook and a possible vote on a resolution. I'm very grateful for the info though, this should enforce my plea.

if you want to region crash get in touch with the founder of Farktopia, he is a senior official in the ONLY successful region crashing group.
they dont grief, nor allow grief among their members, and they follow the rules, they are your best bet for getting involved in the sport.

Correct.

If he is saying that Founders should be got rid of or weakened, it has already been discussed (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=65904&highlight=).

The answer is "no way".

This is a great forum for rules. If you want to discuss theory then I invite you to telegram me sometime, as I am a long term invader.
