IP adresses and who has access??
Several players have told me that some players can run IP address checks?
I didn't think this was possiable being a mere player. Correct me if I'm wrong but that is site admin type of information.

All moderators and admin. can. Whenever you join a site only moderators and administrators are suposed to see your IP. Sometimes a moderator's access to see IP is blocked by admin, but that's rare. Normal players like you and me can't see IP adresses.

Perhaps they are getting the information from an off-site forum that they run. Or, they could be blowing smoke out their... *ahem*

Forgot about that. One should always becareful about who's site they join.
Bluffing is much easier when you know personal things about other players, but it's still bluf. IP adresses are sometimes used to scan for trojans or backdoors.
Never give information like: "My FireWall and AntiVirus protection won't work" :twisted:

So there is no script people can run from thier regions that will allow them to see IP's of nation thier said regions?
I knew about the off site message boards since I run one myself.

Not that I'm aware of. NS only gives that info out to Mods and Admins

This appears to have been dealt with, but I figured I'd post anyway (as I have a bit more experiance in this area).
No, players cannot access IP information, we do not even store it in an accessable location. Anyone claiming that they got your IP through NS is engaging in total BS.
