Question about flag sizes

I guess this is more a technical question that it is anything else... why do other nations have custom flags which exceed the specified size limits? I can only upload a flag which complies with these limits - why can other nations have bigger flags? :cry:

Lower the resolution, and you can increase it in size.
In simple words, make a flag of only two colors and you have one as big as you want :)

As far as being able to upload, yes. But don't make your flag 'too big' in dimensions either. If you do, the Mods may delete your flag for being 'too big'. What 'too big' is, is a subjective issue. You could look at other people's flag and stick within that range of dimensional sizes.

The actual size, the file size and plain common sense is what matters. It have to be flaglike, and never insulting.
I have checked you flag, and it looks fine to me :)

The actual size, the file size and plain common sense is what matters. It have to be flaglike, and never insulting.

Well, I'd like to put the whole coat of arms I did up as the flag (I'd have to reduce it in size though) rather than just the flag proper... seems more self-important that way. :D

Obviously that's a little obsessive, but I'd like to put something a little grander up than just the flag. 8) But I might just settle for a larger version of the flag - it looks a little "artefacty" from the jpeg compression at the moment.
If you use that, all deatails would be gone after shrinking to flagsize. Your picture is not a flag but a coat of arms. If you want, I can shrink it for you, but it will not look pretty :P

Yes, I know I won't be able to use it, it would be excessive anyway. :oops: But I will make a slightly larger flag though (which is just the device on the shield).
Um as long as we're talking about flags, how do I create my own flag? :oops:

Just use your favourite graphical editor, and find some good source images. I just used MS Paint and source images from a French heraldry site. :)

Also, don't forget that the flag looks smaller when you look at it under that nation. Log out and look at it from a puppet or without being logged into the game, and it should appear somewhat larger.
