An educational tool

18-09-2003, 13:51
I was discussing Nationstates.net with my political science teacher, trying to convince her that it is a useful educational tool. I showed her my nation, dealt with an issue, and let her read the nation summary, and she thought that it was an incredible idea. However, she did have one major qualm with the idea. There was no wrap-up at the end.

I know that Nationstates.net is supposed to be open-ended, and possibly neverending, but she wants to have the ability, on the final day of a thirty day course, to click a button and have a more in-depth summary come up. Possible examples of things in this summary would be "deaths due to crime per day" "Popular vote on how well you did"(based largely on civil rights I would think) as well as all of the funny little things at the bottom, such as "the _ rudest citizens in the region and _ in the world"

Interesting, but maybe too much work for [violet] at the moment.

It would be very interesting indeed if we could have this sort of information but as Jeruselem says I think that it won't happen.

I think your teacher has the possiblity of being a bit short-sighted on the benefit of this game, tho I do agree it would be grerat to be able to create (or access) a UN report when convenient to you.

I'll suggest it to [violet], since it requires a code change. Keep in mind, though, that this will probably be low-priority and won't be addressed for a long while (assuming that [violet] even accepts the change).
