Anti-Spam Suggestion
In light of this America inc nonsense,I suggest that maybe something could be added that stops you from recieving anymore than 5 telegrams in a row from the same person

Tricky, that. I think it would be easier if they handed out IP bans for a first spamming offence, and pushed it up their list of priorities. No coding, just an organisational change.
I think the problem with that is that only the admin can give out ip bans,so if ones not on it becomes a problem

True, but maybe when they do come on, IP bans should be the first task on their list. Maybe they would find that easier than spending several days rewriting the code for the telegram system.

Yes he is. I absolutely love how simply because someone knows how to use a proxy they call themselves a "1337 h4x0r". It really is very insulting to those of us that actually know our ways around and through systems.
Put it this way, anyone who brags about being a hacker is almost definitely just a script kiddie.

So that's it! God, I am so stupid. Years ago, when my school banned webmail, I set up a no-frills portal to a proxy server. Just a stupid simple bit of browsing and some HTML, but it got the administrator so p*ssed off he deleted my login. Then I joined the committee of school's network game society, he he. Yes. Well if that's it, it should be pretty straightforward. My little effort was toasted with ease.

I love throttles! And it seems to me this might be simple to implement. At the point in the code where a TM gets added to an inbox, check the last X entries. If they're all from the same user, (and maybe within a certain timeframe), just don't add it at all. You might even send it elsewhere for a Mod to look at too!
The same might be possible for Region Boards too, actually.

Hmm, maybe it might be that easy, but if so, I would put the limit at say 4 from the same user in an hour. Reason being, in my experience relatively important nations get singled out, and 5 spam telegrams could still cause trouble. Also, spammers could quite easily get around this by using two nations simultaneously.

Three or four nations would also not be hard to manage. I would suggest that the flood control go by IP.
But, that's just a suggestion.

I dread to think what would happen if a spammer was dedicated enough to create and operate several puppets simultaneously. Existing rules would quite simply be unable to protect players.
I have retired from the game. No more spam.

Yeah that would be more effective, although probably also harder to code.
