Entering the UN

15-09-2003, 20:05
Attempted to (re)join the UN earlier. After receiving the email just over a day to two days after applying, tried to confirm entry and was informed that the invitation had lapsed. I attempted to confirm only a few hours after receiving the email.

This is not the first time I have tried to rejoin the UN since I originally joined (last year), and every time the invitation has lapsed, although I've responded to the email within a matter of hours (2-4) the last few times.

The only thought I have as to why the invitation might be lapsing so quickly after I receive the email is that occasionally (more and more often lately) emails that are sent to my account (on Softhome) seem to reach my inbox up to a day after they're sent - a much longer delay than usual.

If anyone can confirm my concerns that it might be Softhome causing me to receive the invitation email after the invitation has lapsed, then I would appreciate it. If there are any other possible reasons why the invitation may be lapsing (or if anyone knows that it actually does lapse within an hour or so), I would also appreciate hearing that.

Hmm... I know someone who had this same problem. I'll try to find out what they did.

Until then, try defragmenting the drive with your browser in it. That may help, but I can't make any promises.

I've tried this on two separate computers, and in the first case on several different partitions, operating systems, and before and after reinstalling everything (the first computer went fubar.) Thanks for the advice, I hope you mind the other person who had this problem.

Try using a different e-mail account. Hotmail and Yahoo seem to work for people.

The chances are, that would solve the problem. But I'd first like to see if anyone can confirm the problem before I go to such measures.

I had to apply twice I think it might of been something like your problem.
