I didn't see this addressed anywhere, and its really not a -big- deal... though slightly annoying.

I've noticed lately that when I click on the last page of a thread it gives me the message "no posts on this topic"... I don't know whay it does this, I just thought I shuld point it out. Now this doesn't happen on -every- thread, but on quite a few of them, mostly the longer ones. As I said, its really not a big deal. Now I just click on the second-to-last page all the time.

*shrugs* just wondering if this is going to keep happening or if anyone else has noticed it too

I have noticed it, but I got use to it. I do not see it as a big deal, but it would be nice if it was taken care of. I am content with it remaining the same, being this is a free game we are playing.

It happens. It's happened to me a number of times. If you see it happening, post "Amerigo is a land of tolerance" and it goes away for some reason. :?:

How did you find that out? LOL

This has been a bug since, like, December.

I remember when some posts wouldn't show up in the thread itself, but would show up in the "Topic review." Good God, that was annoying.

Like I've said in another thread, that happens because a page has a 20 post cap, and if you post 20th, than It makes a new page, with nothing yet on it. Once you post again it will put it on the page.

My theory is that it happens when people delete posts, so the system sees a page as having had twenty posts, but then doesn't show the deleted ones. So you get a page at the end because the system sees the forum as having had, say 21 posts, but doesn't show the 21st post because it was deleted.

But like I said, just a theory.

...or some post in the middle was deleted, it doesn't have to be the laast post.

I believe that this theory is correct, based upon what I have seen.

This thread

http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=68449&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=940

is about 23 posts ahead of it's time. A new record? Anyway, if mods can delete posts maybe they could delete pages as well? That would be pretty handy when conducted at the right time...

Right. I just meant that the deleted posts accumulate at the end, so that you get dead pages, rather than full pages with fewer than 20 posts.
