First timer, need some guidance

14-09-2003, 01:20
I dont know if this is the right forum to do this in but atleast it doesnt require In Character posts.

Have read some of the FAQs I have come across while checking this forum out and it all seems very interesting.

However I am a bit worried about how to start it all.
So if someone have some tips and suggestions on how to do it feel free to contact me, maybe through mail so we wont take up space for nothing so to say.

If this was posted in the wrong forum please direct me to the right one.

Thanks.

1.Read the FAQ.
2.Read all the stickies and announcements.
3.RP.

The first two can make you an NS veteran in less than 20 minutes but of course there's really nothing better than straight experience and most experienced nations will be more than happy to help.

Outside the forum, it's much easier. Just pick a region or create your own, decide your issues (or have none at all) and do what you want as long as it doesn't conflict with the rules in the FAQ.

Sirocco's right.

OOF: If you want to start a new region, I can give you step by step instruction via email(if I can figure out how to hide my last name), tm, or forum on recruiting for your region.

IF: I would advise starting either a general thread, a DIPLOMATIC COMMINQUE, or a minor RP, such as election or minor rebellion.

Edit: Oh, and also I'd advise applying to join the UN if you haven't already.

In addition to what NuMetal said, if you want to learn how to RP (roleplay) better, I recommend you join the Role Play University (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=role_play_university). You'll have some of the finest RPers in NS to tutor you!

You do not have to RP if it is not your thing. You can make a very interesting life for your nation by going to the right region. Check out what interesting-looking regions are doing. And have a look at the United Nations Forum.
