My post count suddenly dropped by about 200 posts... any idea why?

Anybody got any ideas? Mods? Someone?

The mods probably deleted some of your posts,maybe threads hitting the 65 limit

Mine only fell around 50. :grin:

The Moderators make periodic audits of threads and delete dead spam / flame threads to free up server space. As long as you do not participate in spam and flame threads, you will not have any problems.

General Forum threads containing reasonable discussion and many chat threads which do not hit the 65 page limit are retained, and it is rare for threads to be deleted from the other forums.

You should also remember: You are more than your post count!

But if you are concerned with your post count, I would suggest taking part in more fruitful debate.

I do my best to stay away from them too, unless there is a serious discussion of foreign policy, diplomacy and military strategy. The problem is, very often such threads attract flamers by their very nature, and end up going downhill, in which case some may be deleted after some time has passed since the last post.

If you wish to avoid flame threads and consequent post deletion, I advise you to check threads for spamming and flaming before posting.

But the thing is, I don't spam or flame. :?

Last night I began a mini-purge of the General forum. Any thread over a week old that had been locked for 65+ pages was removed (or will be, I didnt finish). Also, as The Volcano is on #20, the first 15 are being, or have been, removed.

I can imagine 15 Volcanos at 65 pages each taking up a lot of space. Most threads don't get beyond a handful of pages. I would hate to have my own private chat thread deleted once it reaches the limit, but I guess it is inevitable.
