Is there a ranking system here?

Excuse me, but is there a ranking system in the forum based on the number of rightful posts you submit, like other forum sites?

How can 'rightfull' as in non spam posts. be counted? Unless it's hand counted of course.

Bureaucrat (1-5)
Envoy (6-10)
Diplomat (11-20)
Ambassador (21-50)
Minister (51-99)
Senator (100-250)
Powerbroker (250+)

I think I have all of the levels there, in order. Will add more numbers in an edit when I'm not rushing to work (unless someone else is kindly enough to chime in).

I've never considered the rankings to be very important anyway, or the post count. Just enjoy the game man!

Post count levels and number of posts have been updated to correct order and number. (thanks to a previous post form RedSoviet)

However Quantity of posts do not necessarily indicate quality -- the post count "rankings" are faily arbitrary...

As my colleague Sirroco said, I really would not worry about gaining rank or upping your post count and enjoy the game...

(/me) Obtaining rank (by post count or otherwise) isn't really what this game is all about anyway. RP well, do well/play fair/be nice to your by your fellow rpers, and you'll do fine...

Other players can serve as a help...as can stickies/announcements on the boards.

Have fun, and good luck! :D

How can 'rightfull' as in non spam posts. be counted?

Some boards have a "Karma" feature. All new users start at zero karma. If a moderator feels that someone made a particularly good quality or useful post, then the moderator would grant karma to that individual. If a moderator feels that someones post deserves an official warning, then that users karma is reduced.

Some boards that use a karma system will automatically ban someone if their karma is reduced to some arbitrary value (such as -10).

I believe that it is a Karma system that "Middel Earthe" is asking about.

From what I have seen, the NationStates.net forums do not use a karma system.

I have something like that at http://www.lisnews.com ' s bulletin boards
IIRC... I don't think that's a feature of PHPbb boards in general(?) -- I may very well be wrong here.

Those were the original ranking tables. They've only recently been changed.

Ranks such as postmaster general didn't exist before about a month ago
