WorldVision Song Contest 10 (Signups, open to all)

Well, WorldVision 9 is almost over, so it's about time to start the next signups. For those who have never participated before, here's the breakdown:

This is baisically an NS version of Eurovision, with the same basic structure of countries selecting, performing and voting on songs. Except this contest open to countries in any region. Countries paricipating in the contest are also allowed to enter a maximum of two puppet nations. We're not changing this.

After the signups, the contest is done through two RP threads. The first is the national finals thread, in which all countries select their songs for the contest. The second thread is the actual contest, in which all the performances (with song lyrics), votings and other RP's are posted.

Oh, and one last thing, all songs in the contest must be original. No cover versions. Parodies are okay though

I suppose there's no chance of dropping the puppet rule?

Edit: or changing it?

I would like to propose to change the puppet rule. One puppet max. with a rule that puppet and master can't vote for each other would make the contest a bit more fair, wouldn't it?
Cachette de Lions

Cachette de Lions is in, and I agree with Nethertopia (and Quod).
Zwangzug

I'd support something like this. (One puppet per nation was the original suggestion (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=12358178#post12358178).)

We're not changing the voting format. Haven't you guys heard of diaspora voting in the Eurovision?

Bears Armed is in, and is another vote in favour of changing the rule about puppets.

well, it gets a lot of support, though.

And I don't like the use of puppets for 24 more points.

Future-World didn't have any puppets.
Quintessence of Dust

How about this: it's up to the host to decide how many puppets (if any) are allowed?

Cachette de Lions

Cachette de Lions officially announces its intention to host the tenth edition of the WorldVision Song Contest. Cachette de Lions has a vibrant, diverse music scene, and our previous four entries to the contest have demonstrated this. We would like to bring a small piece of the world's music scene to Cachette de Lions.

The planned venue for the event is the 20,000-seater Felkonen Arena, in Whiscombe, the nation's capital. It is located within close reach of hotels - in a 5 mile radius, there are 7 five-star and 10 four-star hotels - bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and of course, Whiscombe's international airport. But more about the music - the arena is well-renowned for its excellent acoustics and sound engineering, ensuring that both in the arena and on television across the world, sound quality will be optimum. And for the performance? We can promise you that we can provide any lighting, pyrotechnics, or heavy machinery you should require. Oh, and musical instruments are no problem either.

The host broadcaster will be CLTV. The planned hosts for the event are Gregory Suleiman and Arianne Defont, who are both big TV personalities in Cachette de Lions, and are also both known as the hosts of the Cachettian national finals for WorldVision. A national theatre company is also on hand to provide the interval act, known simply as 'The Box'.

Only the participants, just like the real EuroVision.

Might the start of the 'national finals' thread for this contest be a good point at which to move WorldVision over onto the new forum?

The national finals thread (http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1120) is open! (on the new forum) Singups are still open for one more week, or if we reach 30 countries before that.
