SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage
Scianawski: And we're back for another WorldVision. I don't know why we cam back for this yet again, but we're here to do WorldVision 9 now.

Niewienski: Maybe it might have something to do with the other guys leave.

Scianawski: Meh. They've had it easy. We've talked about stuff like that last year... let's see what kind of songs we have this year.

Niewienski: Well, I'm sure we'll mostly see the same kind of stuff as usual. Metal from Future-World, Ballads from Kura-Pelland, Idiocy from Wavispa.

Scianawski: Actually, Wavispa isn't participating this year, we can scratch that one off. Instead we have Taeshan and Wijaska who are likely to fuck their 3 minutes up. Iglesian Archipelago decided to go metal, but it's still in Potuguese, hell will freeze over when they sing in any other lanuage.

Niewienski: Well, Wijaska sent an actual song last year, so this might actually be starting. And Seven Castles, at least have a title in English. And that seems to be it. 4 countries that haven't selected the song.

Scianawski: No. 5. Yeah, 4, we have Quintessence of Dust, Astholm, Bears Armed, The Holy Empire, but there's also Rejistania whose title and band cannot be pronounced, googled, or mean anything.

Verse and chorus melody (http://www.zshare.net/audio/58098180af0d2c1b/)

Wake up and there's blood on my pillow
Don't really know if it's mine
Slipped through a crack in my memory
Everyone thinks that I'm fine

Chorus:
And I'm the most real
In the times I don't feel
I thought that I loved this with all my heart
But day after day
It goes the wrong way
And I feel like I'm falling apart

Time flies when you're having fun
They say, and I guess it's true
But when you're lost within some joy
You don't know that you're you
(to chorus)

Bridge/last chorus melody (http://www.zshare.net/audio/58098242c6247e6e/)

There must have been a reason
Something to believe in
Never stopped to second-guess
If I had a purpose
If it all was worth it
But who to believe when I tell myself "yes?"

If I'm the most real...(back to chorus)

WIJASKA ISLAND ENTRY: Keep on Doing it, by CDstarz

It is written; only Link can whatever.
Fuck!
You dare bring light to my lair? You must die!
I guess I'd better get going!
Exits are here, here, and here.
You've got to be kidding me!
I hope she made losta spaghetti!
How about a kiss, for luck?
I wonder what's for dinner?
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
I can't wait to bomb some dodongos!
Squa-de-la! We are off!

I can't wait to bomb some dodongos!
Cant stop! Won't stop! Just keep on singing!
I can't wait to bomb some dodongos!
Cant stop! Won't stop! Just keep on dancing!
Great, I'll grab my stuff!

Send Link.
Oh boy! I can't wait to bomb some dodongos!
I could eat an octorock!
There is no time, your sword is enough.
Send Link.
Oh boy! I can't wait to bomb some dodongos!
Squa-de-la! We are off!
Fuck!
Oh boy!
Too many toasters!
Great! I'll grab my stuff!
There is no time. Your sword is enough.
Oh boy!
I dare you to find her if you can!
I guess I'd better get going!

I can't wait to bomb some dodongos!
Cant stop! Won't stop! Just keep on singing!
I can't wait to bomb some dodongos!
Cant stop! Won't stop! Just keep on dancing!
Remind me to check!

Join me, and I will make your face the greatest in Viyazgai!
Fuck!
I guess I'd better get going!
How about a kiss, for luck?
You've got to be kidding me!
I hope she made losta spaghetti!
I wonder what's for dinner?
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
I can't wait to bomb some dodongos!
Squa-de-la! We are off!

I can't wait to bomb some dodongos!
Cant stop! Won't stop! Just keep on singing!
I can't wait to bomb some dodongos!
Cant stop! Won't stop! Just keep on dancing!
Great, I'll grab my stuff!

No! Not into the pit! It burns!
I just saved you from Gannon!
You did not.
You, Link, are the hero of Viyazgai!
I won!

SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage

Niewienski: And we've just had the first two songs. Zwangzug and Wijaska Island.

Sianawski: That's all? I thought we were further in, Zwnagzug was such a terrible opener. Instead of being shown something that we'll remember through the whole show, we get, well, a Zwangzug entry. They've never done anything with their 4 minutes...

Niewienski: Well, they've tried, but never in a way that could take them to either end of the scoreboard. Last year they had Jazz... that's not WorldVision. You won WorldVision 6, when we were out. Why don't they take a vacation?

Scianawski: Well, maybe they want a second win, those seem have become popular now... there was Rejistania a couple years ago, but's before it was popular. Then we won again. And then Future-World.

Niewienski: Well, Rejistania was one of those countries every-one votes for. Who the hell votes for Zwangzug. And making the audience depressed... who actually won like that. That's not a way to win... or to start a show... so, next, the real opening show, Wijaska Island.

Scianawski: Well, in this performance slot anything will look good, but I didn't get it really. It's just a bunch of lines really... who's link? Why can't any-one else whatwever?

Niewiesnki: No idea... must all be Wijaska stuff. This song sounds like a Wavispa entry. It's all nonsense. Coplete with an I won!

Scianawski: But they didn't. No-one will vote for them.

Niewienski: Well, they want to. They've participate since WorldVision 4. Maybe we should just tell them they won, so they finally leave us alone.

Scianawski: Should we do the same for Zwangzug?

Niewienski: No... we can't have every-one win. What kind of a constest would that be?
Iglesian Archipelago
03-04-2009, 13:30
"PORTÃO PARA O INFERNO" is the first Iglesian WSC representation in the heavy-metal style.

Two white lights appear. They suddenly disappear and then two red lights turn on.

[Thunderbolt #1 (guitar #1)]: YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

[Thunderbolt #2 (guitar #2)]: YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

[Thunderbolt #3 (bass guitar)]: YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

[Thunderbolt #4 (drums)]: YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

[Thunderbolt #1]:
Pain is not what we see
Because we aren't going to pay
Because hell is bad
And the gate towards it is for death!

[Thunderbolt #2]
And we shouldn't see pain
Because it makes us suffer
And we can't do this
Because we then are killing ourselves!

[Thunderbolt #3]
But we should see what means "pain"
And "pain" means "suffering"
And "suffering" means being "hurt"
And being "hurt" means "going to die"!

[All the Thunderbolts]
THIS IS THE GATE TO THE HELL!!! (bis)

The music continues 30 seconds without lyrics. During this, several lights with several colours turn on and off quick and suddenly. At the end (20 seconds after the start of this portion of the song), lights turn on and off depending of the drums.

(OOC: The title is in Portuguese, but people suddenly listen them singing in English, due to the original idea - the song is supposed to be sung in English -, and because it's popular. The title is in Portuguese to understand better people who are Portuguese-speaking.)

This song is 1 minute and 50 seconds long.

Qazox
05-04-2009, 05:04
And now for Qazox' entry into World Vision 8, Don't Wanna Give it Up, by Tripe!

<45 second 80's style soft rock intro>

They tell us that we're too old.
But our records still go gold.
And our critics they do scold,
but we leave them in the cold!

(CHORUS)
Don't wanna give it up
whoa-whoa-whoaaaaaa.
We can't give it up
whoa-whoa-whoaaaaaa.

We party all night,
and it feeeeels so right.
We rock all day
and we're here to stay!

<reprise of Chorus>

We've been almost everywhere
from Newmanistan to Kura-Pelland
They tell us to stop,
but our rockin' won't ever end!

<reprise of Chorus>

This song might be our last
but then we've had a blast!
They say the way that we sing,
is not currently the hippest thing.

We don't care about that at all,
We'll be the ones standing tall!
Now the end is drawing near,
Screw it all, let's drink a beer!

<2x reprise of Chorus>

(ooc: If you are trying to get a mental image of Tripe, think of a cross between KISS and Bon Jovi)

I know parodies are okay, but this is more like 'what if the song was written in by ♥ before that other guy got his hands on it')(OOC: The Bears would insist that their entries to the previous two contests, despite the fact that these coincidentally used the same tunes as songs from "the mythical dimension of RL", were both original creations rather than "parodies"...)
Cafundeu
08-04-2009, 04:29
(OOC: the melody of the song is based on the RL song "Vital e Sua Moto", by Paralamas do Sucesso)

This time, the Cafundelense entry wasn't seen with excitement and hope from the citizens of the country, as Wage was known for the fact that nearly all their songs sounded much like the same, and that, although they have got some success, they did never win a single prize. But the members of Wage were happy to be able to participate in WorldVision, and entered the stage smiling and waving to the people and to the cameras. It took some time for them to get ready, but suddenly the music started. There was a short guitar introduction to the song, then the vocalist started his part:

Marcos was a simple guy living in a big town
Ever dreamed of a Velog* but didn't have money enough
Worked as a dealer, pimp, driver, teacher and as a clown
But all he earned had to be spent as these times were rough
In the middle of the crisis Marcos found a solution with might
A jeep in the junk yard... that was perfect for him
He fixed the old car working with delight
The jeep was reborn from a situation which was very dim

Marcos and his jeep were as one
Life was now more fun

Marcos and his jeep were just as one
Life was now...

Time passed and the jeep became Marcos's devotion
He enjoyed showing to his friends his best creation
Everyone started to like the jeep, it was as a church
And Marcos was the priest of this big sensation

What seemed just a hobby turned into an obsession
The jeep became a God, and Marcos went insane
Don't touch it, don't sneeze on it... don't question
All efforts to take him out of it were in vain

Marcos and his jeep now were one
And the worry has begun

Marcos and his jeep surely were one
And the solution...

A guitar solo interrupts the last phrase, lasting for more than half a minute before the singer return for the last part of the song:

The mother-in-law* of Marcos's sister had a plan
She was called the saci* witch and got all she wanted
One day Marcos left his jeep alone, and she took her van
Invaded his garage and... (loud sound of a crash)

Vocabulary:
Velog: Cafundéu's most expensive car
mother-in-law: personification of devil
saci: mythical creature

IGTV1 WorldVision 9 coverage

João Martinho: Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to WorldVision Song Contest 9!

Ana Walwaski: Good evening. We are going to say something about these songs. They're five, for now!

JM: Good job from Zwangzug! This might be my early 12-point vote for this contest.

AW: I agree 100% with you. This is a pretty good song. A song to be in the first place, in my opinion. Now, let's travel to Wijaska Island, a small country in Swilantis. I think this must be worse.

JM: Why do they insist on using strong words?

AW: Be careful on what do you say, because an Iglesian song might have the same type of words.

JM: Now, we'll go to Bears Armed, where another pretty good song is here.

AW: I agree with you again.

JM: Qazox, where we find a song that looks pretty 80's! I LOVE THE 80's!

AW: Yes, but Zwangzug was better, in my opinion.

JM: Let's go to Cafundéu.

AW: The presenter says that this song "wasn't seen with excitement and hope (...) in the country", but there's another song which my opinion was the same to Zwangzug, Beras Armed and Qazox. This may be the best song contest I've ever seen.

JM: So, more fourteen songs! See you later!

AW: See you later! Good night!

JM: Good night!

SBC /3/ WorldVision Coverage

Scianawski: And we've just had 3 more songs. Iglesian Archipelago, Qazox, and Cafundeu.

Niewienski: Wait.. that way Iglesian Archipelago? Where was all the Spanish?

Scianawski: Well, they finally decided to sing in English, so this year we get to talk about the song, instead of IT'S NOT SPANISH IT'S PORTUGUESE!!

Niewienski: Well, they didn't sing in Spanish or Portuguese. They sang in English... sort of. At least it's not "come live the nature"

Scianawski: I don't know about it... they seem too have strange ideas about proper English... yes, pain does mean suffering, but "hurt" does not exactly mean "going to die". And "the hell"... there must be a lot of hell impersonators out there.

Niewiesnki: Well, there must be a hell in Swilatia, a lot of our towns have weird names... all these towns where no-one lives have to have some name, and some people want to be original. Now the next song, that's not original, it sounds like sothing from 30 years ago.

Scianawski: And this is there last-ditch effort... they obviously don't want to win... if you expect to win with something like that, go back to the 80's, invent WorldVision before the SBC does, and maybe you'll win that contest. Not today...

Niewienski: Well they're obviosly tring to appeal to the entire market at once... Kura-Pelland to Newmanistan... yes, they're trying to appeal to countries that don't participate in WorldVision... they can't vote, remember?

Scianawski: Well, they said this was going to be their last entry, so we'll just let them vanish off the scene. We're still here... and the was Cafudeu... with a song about a simple guy living in a big town.

Niewiesnki: So we have a Cafundeu entry, pretty much. No, I have never dreamed of a Velog, but the SBC should have money enough, they make lots of it by selling advertisements and slapping them on the less important parts of WorldVision. So we have my C.E.O. all over again, and he finds a jeep in the city dump.

Scianawski: Let's not perform the whole song... it sucked, and there will still be around 14 more after this.

Swilatia Entry: Around The World, by ZM
The Swilatian entry this year was basically a typical Swilatian pop song. Fast, loud, nonsensical. Distorted vocals. So far ZM was the smallest group to represent Swilatia. Karolina Zdzisławska did the singing, while Stefan Marszałkowski did the other stuff.

No time left so take your things, find me there
Gotta get there by that time, be there soon

Then we fly through every part of the sky
And we're landing we don't even care why
We can do this now for all of the time
When we get there you won't want to come back

Around The World, every street, every road
Around The World, all the cities below
Around The World, we don't know where to go
Around The World, and won't stop our show

Light the night up, when it's night when it's day
Where are we from? I don't care anymore

Will we go some place where we went before
Maybe somewhere else to do something more
That's all it takes to get me off the floor
Now we're flying so don't open the door

Around The World, every street, every road
Around The World, all the cities below
Around The World, we don't know where to go
Around The World, and won't stop our show

Back here again, are we done, everything
Have we really seen it all, everywhere

Is this everything we have, every place
We're not done yet so lets find a new space
We can do it all in some different ways
When we get off even in the same place

Around The World, every street, every road
Around The World, all the cities below
Around The World, we don't know where to go
Around The World, and won't stop our show

Around The World, every street, every road
Around The World, all the cities below
Around The World, we don't know where to go
Around The World, and won't stop our show

Commentators: Elena Mirekova & Katya Verbaijean

Elena: And welcome to another worldvision. This time in Futuria, Future-World who won the previous contest.

Elena: In place of Georgi Turskchenko who left the commentating job to pursue a career in politics, is our previous contest representitive Katya Verbaijean!!!1!!

Katya: Well it is a new experience I must say, but I would like to wish best of luck to all competitors tonight, especially to Kingfordian act Vlad&Maya

SONG COMMENTS:

Zwangzug: (REVIEWED BY ELENA)
A simple , piano melody, mediocre lyrics , I'd say a lower position on the scoreboard.

Wijaska Island: (Katya)
Their best effort yet. A real song structure and catchy lyrics. Something I thought "Maj Arj" had, but sadly did not. This could be a winner.

Cafundeu:
A slow, chanson-like composition. Tells a story but I don't think it will do well, might get in the top 10 but not Top 5

Swilatia:
A great song! Catchy, good vocals and the repettion works. Could also be a winner.

Katya: Anyway, up next is our song! Vlad & Maya "Night Will Last Forever"!

(Dance Beats pick up tempo giving the song disco like feel)

(At this point a woman in a black dress -Maya- Steps out of the darkness and sings)

Maya: Being with you, makes the night so dear, although so much can happen, the night, the night will last forever

CHORUS

Vlad & Maya: The night is ours, we will succeed, love will succeed, victory is near can you feel it too. Whatever the outcome the night will last forever

Beef, at first glance, looks like your typical alt-rock band - they have a guitarist, bassist, drummer, and a crazed lead singer who expends more energy on stage then a 7-year-old who just drank a case of Red Bull.

Come to think of it, they look like your typical alt-rock band on subsquent glances as well...

(Music starts)

"Future-World...are you ready to ROCK?!"

After the obligatory roar of the crowd, the song begins.

Hold me down
Put me in my place
As I feel the haze
Of insects biting me

I can't allow
My skin to break
At least until I take
What you are giving me

Hey
You know it makes me itch
When you stare at me and say I'm it
In my dreams, you're scratching me all night
Scratch me all down my back and turn the light off

Hey
You know it makes me itch
When you stare at me and say I'm it
In my dreams, you're scratching me all night
Scratch me all down my back and turn the light off

Rub me down
I need some Lanacane
Before I go insane
And start to scream like hell

It won't be long
Until I feel the breeze
And you put me at ease
Just like you do so well

Turn the light off
I itch so good
Turn the light off
I itch so good

You make me itch
You make me itch
You make me itch

Baby girl
I need it now
To soothe my skin
Or I'll have to break out
Rub it in
No need for jelly
I'm itchy
And your love is making me bleed

I'm itchy
And your love is making me bleed

Niewienski: So, we've just had three more songs. Swilatia aka us, Kingsley Bedford, and Scotchpinestan.

Scianawski: Wait, that was our entry? Well, it's a typical pop song, I can't see it winning.

Niewienski: Well, we won twice already. We're not constant losers anymore. Last year we sent a bunch of high-school students trying to do the same song, and we still got sixth place. We'll do better now that we have a more professional show.

Scianawski: Yeah, like second or third. We're not going to win, we're not going to have a third win. We should let some other countries get their second win first.

Niewienski: Let's see... we won WorldVision 4 and 7, Future-World got their second trophy last year, Rejistania got it before it was even the cool thing. So that just leaves Bazalonia, who aren't participating this year, and Zwangzug, who aren't winning this year.

Scanawski: Well, we'll just have to see it after the voting. I can tell it won't be Kingsley Bedofrd. Why can't they just pick one language and be done with it.

Niewienski: Trying to be unique I guess... since all the other countries are singing in English this year. Even Iglesian Archipelago.

Scianawski: It's not Spanish jokes aren't that funny anymore anyway. But Kingsley Bedford, they're like Sol e Sombra the come live the nature song, all over again. Except maybe with better English. I really hope this night ends soon.

Niewienski: Don't count on it... We still have 11 more songs to go. And the voting, of course. They might be right, we're at least in for a long one.

Scianawski: Damn... and there was still Scotchpinetan...

Niewienski: Oh, there jus a typical aalt-rock song, let's just move on...

Scianawski: We seem to do that a lot lately... some song we give more coverage then others...

Niewienski: Well, some songs just can't bring out that many lines. It's mostly the really weird songs, and of course the Swilatian songs. We're just saying about as much as there is to say about each song. And there isn't much here.

The crowd looks bewildered as Vicious Victor, dressed as a pirate, walks on stage. 3 of his backing singers are dressed as sheep, another is dressed as a new waver (http://www.harveysarcasticdisco.com/photos/harvey%20new%20wave.jpg), another is dressed entirely in leather. Only one, Daniela, is dressed normally, in a t-shirt and jeans. The song is an electro/dance/pop song, and ends up sounding somewhat like propaganda.

It seems like evil is coming
Seems like everyone has become like a sheep
With no individual emotions or personal opinions
Only the fear

Oh no, it seems disaster's come
And it's engulfing everyone
You don't have to be like them you know
But you know they've got inside your head and it's starting to show

You'll become a sheep
And it's getting so hard just to beat the sheep
You try to deny, but you are the sheep
You follow all of them 'round
Oh, don't be a sheep
You'll never get out with your mind, sheep
And happiness gets hard to find, sheep
You've got your own life to lead
And it's them who you don't need

And now everybody looks the same
Playing all the same songs, all the same games
And every time I look around me
The lack of diversity drives me insane

It's time for us to make a stand
And stop the sheep taking command
For now's the time to make a change
You could have all you wanted, so please love don't say no

Don't become a sheep
'Cause it's getting so hard just to beat the sheep
So when you take my hand you won't need to bleat
Just to fit in with the rest
Oh, don't be a sheep
You'll never get out with your mind, sheep
And happiness gets hard to find sheep
You know that when they don't want you, they'll take you to the slaughter house

At this point, Victor screams, and the music suddenly slows down as Daniela steps forward and sings.

I could never be a sheep
Love is what matters to me
And we must always fight for good
And never let them take away our lives

They then both sing the last line:

Because it's up to us to survive...

OOC: Sorry, didn't see this thread till now. Perhaps next time you could TG contestants to let them know it's started? Anyway, here is our entry, which is meant to be a parody of "Time To Pretend" by MGMT.

Brian Gobbleson: 'Representing Quintessence of Dust, we have BCRC (formerly known as "The Bureaucracy"). An indie-pop/dance-rock outfit whose album Prophetic Pathetic was #1 for many weeks in Quintessence of Dust's national music charts, they beat out strong competition from sockgaze favourites Centaurus A and a large roster of wishy-washy, flaxen-haired songstresses and overly-tightly-jeaned electronica maestros, to represent the nation in their first WorldVision contest. Their song, "Filing My Return", is an upbeat number about how exciting life is in Quintessence of Dust, and as a leading anti-torture nation, some of our citizens have expressed concern about the treatment of certain of the rhymes within it, going so far as to suggest the songwriter (Michel Marberger) should be indicted for "crimes against scansion".

'And now, I can see the band coming out to cheers and quite a lot of yawning. In the studio a two-person outfit of Marberger, who's on keyboards, and Antje Zweig, playing guitar, for their live shows, which are noted for their amazing light shows - perhaps toned down for tonight's performance - they are supplemented by a rhythm section and some backing vocalists, most of whom are suspiciously attractive. Quintessence of Dust's Swedish immigrant population out in force in support, waving big signs from the crowd saying "We løve BCRC" and "We hate negative stereotypes of Fennoscandian orthography". Let's listen to their song:'

I'm pretty bright, I'm pretty fresh, I have infrequent migraines.
Let's sharpen pencils, use the stapler, make sure we catch the train.
I'll stay in Highmark, take my vitamins, pluck my nasal hairs.
You do the shopping: get some teabags and a new garden chair.

Now my life's direction clearly pointing this way,
My destination obviously grey.
True, it's pretty boring, but what else can I do?
Become a musician and die while I'm sitting on the loo?

I think the only thing I have to do
Is to file my return,
Tax return.
I'm filing my return,
Tax return.

When I was young I had dreams of becoming an astronaut.
When I was young I used my imagination to build forts,
Although cardboard was also critical in their construction.
Back then I didn't read books about the problem of induction.

I get quite fulfilled when making spreadsheets.
Sometimes editing XML flowcharts brings colour to my cheeks!
So I drink my herbal tea, it calms me right down,
So I won't go wild and buy a freaky dressing-gown!

And though I still need to consider my pension plans,
I am filing my return,
Tax return.
I'm filing my return,
Tax return.

Quite, quite, quite,
Quite, quite, quite,
Quite, quite, quite,
Quite, quite, quite.

Elena: And welcome back Kingfordian viewers to worldvision 9. While you were watching the counting in our national elections, 3 songs were performed.

Katya: Let's have a look at them now.

(Scotchpinestan entry is shown)

Elena: Well, it was a good attempt to achieve the success of runners-up last year from the Holy Empire "Thunderhammer", but I was itching for it to be over.

(Cachette de Lions entry)

Katya: Well, a very inventive and baaaaary interesting song. Just thank god we didn't have to see them perform in sheep costumes. Everyone still says that I came 2nd last last year because I was dressed like a flamingo. I can't see why? I thought the costume looked fabulous!

(Quintessence of Dust Entry)

Elena: That was the debut entry from Quintessence of Dust. It was unique and about a tzx return. Boy, do I love getting that every year. Except this year, I had an audit. Shit! I'm not supposed to announce that on live TV.

Katya: Can we just talk about the entry?

Elena: oh, sorry. Yes, it was inventive and is an impressive debut entry. It might get a few 12 points and definatly gets my 12 points!!!

Katya: And now we go to a commercial break.

Valeneska Entry: Perfect Enemies, by Jazmina Terasovka
Day after day
Falling this way
Another night watching TV
Open the door
Won't come back anymore
No-where left to go today
There's nothing left to say

Now what?
Nothing left to see?
I'm your enemy
Not sure how it had to happen
Now what?
Nothing left to see?
I'm your enemy
I don't want to be forgiven

Time will not sleep
Wait for the beep
But I don't have any message
I have to leave
But are we really free
Never wanted to be here
Now you just disappear

Now what?
Nothing left to see?
I'm your enemy
Not sure how it had to happen
Now what?
Nothing left to see?
I'm your enemy
I don't want to be forgiven

Now what?
Nothing left to see?
I'm your enemy
Not sure how it had to happen
Now what?
Nothing left to see?
I'm your enemy
I don't want to be forgiven

João Martinho: Hello, good evening, new songs here.

Ana Walwaski: Let's go, so, to Swilatia.

JM: They have at this time a good song.

AW: I need to agree with you.

JM: Scotchpinestan!

AW: Oh my god, how they can do this barbaric thing? A seven-year-old child and DRUNK?!?!?!?!?!?!?

JM: Too heavy alcoholism. Red Bull is not pretty good in my opinion. I prefer a Port wine.

AW: The ones from Cachette de Lions are so funny!!! (too much laughs!)

JM: (too much laughs too!) Oh my god, how can I resist to this?

(they laugh too much again!)

AW: So... What?? (she laughs again)

JM: Quintecex... Quintcet... Quintecesse... I mean, Quintessence of Dust.

AW: BCRC is a good group. (she laughs again)

JM: So, we're going to travel to Valeneska! (Ana Walwaski smiles towards the camera and laughs a bit)

AW: She has a good voice, she sang well, in my opinion.

JM: She's so beautiful! (laughs TOOOOOOOOOO much!)

AW: You're in love with her! I saw it!!! I saw that you went with her to a restaurant!!!!! Not here in Futuria, but in Sarenaski!!!!! (she laughs TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much).

JM: You have committed too many gaffes! Good night!

AW: Good night!

(the microphones weren't turn off and we listened to their talk)

JM: And you're in love with Stefan Marszałkowski!

AW: And you're in love with Jazmina Terasovka and Karolina Zdzisławska!!! I saw it!!! Everything truth! Truth!

JM: That's a lie!

AW: Truth!

JM: That's a lie!

AW: Truth! Truth! Truth! Truth!

JM: That's a lie! That's a lie! That's a lie! That's a lie!

AW: Truth, truth, truth, truth, truth... (and so on)!!!

SEVEN CASTLES entry: "Go enjoy!", by Thinkers

Thinkers is a Hepto-Castlese group of four people, a singer and three acrobats active since 1980 and they'll represent Seven Castles today on WSC9.

We are singing in the sky and Earth
We can do whatever we want here
We're not just what other people think
And we have every kind to think about ourselves!

We resist to our biggest enemies
And we resist to the ones we don't believe
Because we are a group of friends
Who knows and knows what we do!

REFRAIN: (underlined)
Go enjoy,
We don't believe in enemies
When we enjoy,
We enjoy!

Not as well as other "friends"
Because we suffer too much
Or we can't do ourselves
What we need to all!

(bis)

This song is 2 minutes long.

SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage

Scianawski: So, it's about that time again... we've just had Cachette de Lions, Quin-something of Dust, and Valeneska.

Niewienski: Yeah, it'll keep being that time again, so many songs, get ready, it's going to engulf every-one, and I suck at writing propaganda. But I'm just covering the event, we've already had the Swilatia entry not to long ago.

Scianawski: Yeah, the Swilatian entry was a while ago, we're on the Cachette de Lions entry now. And it certainly sounds like some kind of propaganda, but for what? What is the evil? What disaster?

Niewienski: They don't want us to know that! They just want us to be their sheep!

Scianawski: That's kind of ironic since their song is about becoming sheep or something like that. Well, that about wraps it up. The next song Quin... that unpronouncable one... of dust.

Niewienski: Yeah... That country with the dust... filing my return. It's a song about some very un-Swilatian concepts, the intertubes say it's about life in er, the country that sent this song to WorldVision. A land of meh-worthy excess bureaucracy.

Scianawski: And that's a reason to come to Swilatia. Less bureaucracy. Also, our name is easier to say. There. Swilatia. Said it again.

Niewienski: Meh.

Scianawski: What are we in... wait, no, if we're in our actual countries, then let's now travel to Valeneska. And somehow get there beofre the end of the contest, 'cause that's the next song.

Niewienski: No, we'll stay here, it seems like a strange reason to travel to another country, just to see what a countries song sounds like. Actually, we can stay here, because the song sounds very Swilatia.

Scianawski: Well, it's still Swilantis. And it's not Wavispa, thank FSM. It'll get a lot of votes, but it's not Around The World. I can't see it getting a lot of votes. It'll be La La La all over again.

Niewienski: So long as it's not some Kura-Pellandi snoozefest, anything can win Piosenka dla Swilasji. Diamond Clubs won it once after all. They normally don't even reach the final.

(OOC:Because no way has been devised of transliterating the friendly monkeys' gibberish, only Luko Charulo's words are shown, being translation. The queen's gibberish is indicated as @@@ and the friendly monkeys' as &&&&)
On stage comes Luko Charulo,a 10 year old boy, clad only in a pair of shorts and carrying an electric guitar, and thirty friendly monkeys, wearing nothing.
Hello world! On behalf of the School Students' Union of Esperantujo 2, let me introduce you to the Friendly Monkeys. This is the first time they have been out of their jungle, and we've had a difficult journey, with customs and immigration, and the political situation in Future-World.
@@@
Yes, give them a big hand and give an especially warm welcome to their queen.
A monkey who is clearly both elderly and pregnant joins Luko at the front of the stage.
@@@
The queen says she loves children, and some of her children and grandchildren will be gibbering for you tonight. Let me add, that I will rap a translation into English, because that language is closer to gibberish than Esperanto, or even Pastarr.
Luko strums a chord on his guitar.
Let's begin.

&&&&
We are the friendly monkeys.
The jungle is our home.
We're going to keep on gibbering
wherever we may roam.
&&&&
Humans, give us your children.
We'll make them healthy and strong.
They'll climb every tree in the jungle,
@@@
and we won't do anything wrong.
&&&&
We know all the fruits of the forest,
for medicine and for food,
and we know what to give you
@@@
to put you in a good mood.
&&&&
Remember the jungle is sacred.
Every tree is our friend.
We know them all individually
@@@
and the jungle we tend.
&&&&
But beware, don't come burning and logging.
The jungle we will defend.
Humans who don't come in friendship
@@@
will come to an unfortunate end.
&&&&
Children, come to our jungle.
Yes, you, you and you.
You'll have a happy adventure

SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage

Scianawski: So, we've had 14 songs already... damn, if this was WorldVision 1, we would be out of here by now.

Niewienski: Yeah, but I would never be stuck doing WorldVision 1. It must of been hard enough for the other guys. Anyways, we're supposed to be to doing the songs of this one.

Scianawski: Yeah, I forgot about that one... Kingsley Bedford was right. This is going to last forever. Anyway, we've just had Seven Castles, Taeshan, and Esperantujo 2.

Niewienski: Iglesian Archipelago strikes again... well, okay, Seven Castles, but they're just a clone of Iglesian Archipelago. And the most un-Swilantis country on the continent.

Scianawski: What about Sarleneska?

Niewienski: We have yet to see them participating in WorldVision. Their "dear leader" would never allow it. Besides, they have their own ideas. These guys want to be exactly like Iglesian Archipelago, which they're prolly a colony of.

Scianawski: Well, they did sing in English this year... and they didn't participate in WorldVision seven, even though Iglesian Archipelago did.

Niewienski: Yeah, the same year Iglesian Archipelago finally decided to speak English like a normal country. And I bet they just didn't know Iglesian Archipelago was participating. Next up, Taeshan.

Scianawski: And it can only get worse from here. This is Taeshan we're talking about.

Niewienski: Well, they're easy to take care of. We set up a trap consisting of A carboard box, a stick, and some doritos. And viola. We never have to worry about them participating or giving incomplete votes again. Not like us Swilatians have any use for Doritos anyway.

Scianawski: Doritos... what the hell are Doritos?

Niewiesnki: I'm not sure either. But they must be very important in Taeshani culture, because the last Taeshan entry loast his girl in a fight over them.

Scianawski: Okay... well, we've missed our chance already, the song is over. Not only are we covering it later, but it was only like 10 seconds to begin with. Who the hell wants to listen to 5 minutes of Taeshan entry?

Niewienski: Taeshan people, maybe? They must have a really awful music scene over there if they keep sending stuff like that.

Scianawski: Well yeah, you would never have to worry about the world blowing up, because I would never follow a Taeshani singer, even if was paid to. Now, if following him was essential to the world not blowing up, say goodbye, guys.

Niewiesnki: Goodbye? But the contest isn't even over. We still have Esperantujo 2, the other 5 songs, and the voting.

Scianawski: The voting? Yeh, we need to get to that... we heard Kingsley Bedford wanted to fuck around with it.

Niewienski: We'll get there. We still need to cover the Esperantujo 2 entry, we're not letting them get away easily. Not with something like that.

Scianawski: Friendly monkies? Why are they brining monkies on stage?

Niewienski: Well, with Bears Armed haqven't presented their song yet, and we're not sure if they will, so some-one else had to do it. It's only a WorldVision tradition.

Scianawski: Yeah, but Desborough Donkey came last!

Niewiesnki: Well, I never said I supported it. Or that this is a way to win. It does actually seem that Esperantujo 2 is the new Mallatarsland. Next year, they'll prolly have a song about ninjas or sonething. Crappy paper cutouts not optional.

Scianawski: So, that's all the songs. Only five left...

Niewienski: Yeah, but this isn't over yet. The advertisers can wait. So, for those of you who aren't aware of this, Future-World no longer exists. Kingsley Bedford have taken advantage of this situation to declare themselves the new hosts.

Scianawski: Wait, since when does one declare themselves a host? Doesn't there need to be a vote? I didn't vote for Kingsley Bedford.

Niewienski: We don't have a vote anyway. But the SBC voted for Future-World, so they're partially responsible for this disaster. I do not know who the second choice was.

Scianawski: There are no second chances. But for the sake of the voting working properly, we must fix the situation. We screwed it up after all.

Niewienski: Well, how do we do that.

Scianawski: Easy. Soon will be the next song. When it comes, Kingsley Bedford will need to hand the stage over to the next entry. When to do, we lock them up in the washroom.

OOC: posting lyrics now, will transcribe melody tomorrow and post as MIDI file

Dressed in a long black dress, lit up mostly in blue, Charlotte Pinter was representing the old ethereal-songbird Kura-Pellandi stereotype. It's worked for them in the past, but would it work with this wistful song of longing for acceptance? Or would that prove darker than the multiverse wanted?

I've all too often despaired
At all the thoughts of where
My life has been going wrong
It's happened for too long
There has to be a way
To end this groundhog day
But I need someone to lead me there

To find someone who sees in me
What I can't see myself
To find someone who'll set me free
From all that I've ever felt
I'm all alone and it's all too much to bear
I must find someone who'll save me from despair

Trapped on an island of fear
My hopes seem to disappear
The need for release grows strong
This isn't where I belong
I know there's a way out
In spite of all my doubts
But I need someone to lead me there

(Chorus)

I know one day my ship will come in
But 'till then I'll sink 'cause alone I can't swim

I'm sure one day there'll be
A chance to find my feet
But I need someone to help me there

(Chorus)

The rejistanis loved flashy outfits, but this time, the band kept it somewhat more reasonable. Can I just point out there is no changes to the voting.

I found a program that creates virtual Eurovision-like scoreboards. Voting remain the same as always, post your votes (however, we will also make the scoreboard and add the link at the end of competiton)

Also, we sent presenters due to the fact we had no hosts and Quintessence of Dust said maybe I should send them to keep the contest going.

Who is yet to perform?
Kemball Island
02-05-2009, 15:29
The Broken Noses, having completed their tour of Kemball Island last week, jet in to register their song today

And here it is, sung in all its er, glory by the band:
(short shart guitar riff starts the song, with the bassist Jimmy 'Iron Neck' Armstrong seemingly just hitting random notes loudly before the singing kicks in, LOUD AND POWERFUL)

How many bankers are we gonna let escape?
Get back to the old ways: PILLAGE AND RAPE
Wipe the f***ers off the face of the earth
Modern life is Rubbish
(all the band shouts/sings) MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH
the destiny is in the anarchy
A governement that lies or opposition from the past
Immigration needs controlling
Laws to fight the other faiths
you're all very hating for a bunch of socialists
Modern life is Rubbish
MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH
(the two guitarists wander round stage playing loudly while a mannequin with well known Kemball Island conservative political pundit Johnny Hart is punched by the lead singer. This goes on for 25 seconds before the singing starts again:)
Why Why Why does the future lie
Conservative pundits bringing home money for lies
Send all the immigrants home, kill the ****ing gays
(lead singer starts talking in a low voice)
You realise nobodys listening, you crazy little ****
Modern Life is Rubbish
MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH
(guitar riff)
Please don't destroy, you conservative ****
Whats the point in hating, whats the ****ing point
Your precious Lored taught you to love
Would you listen to him now, or would he be a ****ing hippy
Racism and bigotry are on the way down, so to you
Modern life is Rubbish
MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH
(drumming solo)
Conservative hatred
Liberal love-in
Destroy the immigrants, let them in
A womens place, in the home or at work?
You know which is the only one making any sense
(Three short, sharp chords are played, and then the song is finally over)

SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage

Niewienski: Well, it's been another 3 songs. So let's stay on the point this time, the songs were Kura-Pelland, Rejistania, and Kemball Island.

Scianawski: So that makes... 17? Yeah, 17 down, and the rest to go. Well, we should be near to the end. Hopefully that means no more Kura-Pelland entries.

Niewienski: Well, it is one entry per country after all.

Scianawski: Iglesian Archipelago don't seem to get this rule though.

Niewienski: Yeah, but that's because Seven Castles is basically an Iglesian Archipelago with crappier roads. Kura-Pelland doesn't have any clones. Not yet at least.

Scianawski: Why would they need clones? They already send the same kind of stuff every year. It almost makes it difficult for us, having to come up with new ways to talk about the same song every year?

Niewienski: Well, the lyrics are different. But that's only a change if you speak English. We do, most of our audience does, but what about the rest of the WorldVision audience? What would Valeneska do?

Scianawski: Give us 12 points?

Niewienski: No, Khenas never paid us back, why would Valeneska?

Scianwski: Because Valeneska gave Biało Niebieske a 12? Next, Rejistania.

Niewienski: Yeah, you know you've been here for a while if you remember the when Rejistania had an unconditional top 5 slot, and Zwangzug entries were actually worth looking at. Then they fell of. And this year, Zwangzug won't even know who to give the points to.

Scianawski: Well, let's see... the song is three exclaimation marks... but they're also questions. So it is !-?-!-?-!-? or ?-!-?-!-?-!.

Niewienski: Does it matter? It's unpronounable anyway. If anything can make Zwangzug use country names like anything else, it's this?

Scianawski: They prolly just won't give points to Rejistania. The days of Rejistania troubling the top 4 are over.

Just two more countries to presentt their song, Nethertopia and Bears Armed.

Hopefully we'll have their songs soon, voting starts on Tuesday.
Nethertopia
03-05-2009, 13:02
(OOC: Crap, another cheesy love song from Nethertopia, posted far too late. Damn you inspiration!)

The public was ready to leave the hall, nobody expected another entrance after all the chaos that had been this WorldVision. Wherever the heck it was, since Future-World have vanished, no one knew. but the contest was held.
Suddenly a group of four rather odd looking people entered the stage. A man in a black suit and a bass guitar walked to the centre of the stage, planted a microphone with stand in front of him and talked to the audience: 'Good evening to everybody at WorldVision. I know I'm supposed to say summat about Future-World, but in the current state we'll just start playing our song, shan't we?'
The rest of the band was quickly assembling their instruments. Guitars were plugged in boxes and a drum kit erected on stage in a record tempo. The drummer, dressed in a black suit, started a medium-paced beat and the two female guitarists, wearing long, red and black dresses, started to fill in, one with the rhythm and the other as soloist. Finally, the bassist took a few steps back and started his play.

Suddenly, from the roof, a small elevator lifted a man dressed in a white suit with short, brown hair and a monocle down to the ground. He stepped out of it, grabbed to microphone and started to sing:

The first time we met
You were looking at me
Standing, smoking a cigarette
As a devil so free

You looked me in the eyes
And called me an angel from above
Said I was heaven in disguise
Then we declared eternal love

The singer stopped for a moment to look at the audience. The soloist guitar player walked forwards to him, and the singer continued his song:

A match so unholy
This couldn't be true
Described as too lowly
By many, by few
But in the end...

My Halo was broken and taken away
You vanished and left me with nothing to say
And all that is over, the one thing that's left
Are the Sprits
Spirits of the past

The guitarist played her solo after the refrain, before continuing the song:

There is not a single thought
No moment of regret
Cause you were the one I sought
You are the one I'll never forget

My Halo was broken and taken away
You vanished and left me with nothing to say
And all that is over, the one thing that's left
Are the Sprits
Spirits of the past

Fragile as a flower
Strong as stones
But we have the power
In our hearts, in our bones

A match so unholy
This couldn't be true
Described as too lowly
By many, by few
But in the end...

... We will meet again

Finally the time has come, and Urratharra -- with "Her Friends" -- is on the stage.
She is an Ursine of medium size, with medium-brown fur, who is wearing a long gown in a leaf-green hue on this occasion: She is seated, facing the audience, behind a hammer-dulcimer.
The other Ursines who are accompanying her here are a trio of other females, with fur in differing shades of brown, wearing gowns that are very similar to hers. One of them is carrying a 'fox-fiddle' (which is basically a 'violin'), one has a set of reed-pipes (i.e. 'pan-pipes'), and the third carries a traditional Ursine stringed instrument called a 'hurruff' (which is very similar to a theorbo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theorbo)). They arrange themselves in a diagonal line (in that order) to Urratharra's left, with the fiddler furthest from her and nearest to the audience.

Urratharra strikes a chord on the dulcimer, announces the song's title "Silver and Gold", and goes straight into the tune (which is quite a lively one at this stage). Her friends join in a couple of bars later, and the quartet all play along together for about half a minute before Urratharra stops playing... stands up... and starts to sing (very melodiously) _

"Silver the water that flows in the river;
Golden the sunshine that brightens the glen:
Silver nor gold, in my pockets I had none,
But while my love was here,
What did I care then?

Silver the moonlight when we pledged our true love;
Golden the sunshine when he walked away:
For we had quarrelled, two livers were broken,
I could not leave here,
But he would not stay.

Silver the wages I earn in the valley;
Golden the wages he’s paid in the town;
Longer he bides there than he'd said it would be:
Has he forgotten
What we two have vow'n?

Silver the moonlight, or so say my sisters;
Golden the sunshine, to brighten the day;
Here in my sorrow no brightness do I see:
Silver nor golden,
Just two shades of gray.

Silver the sound of the stage-coach post-horn;
Golden the coins that he's sent far to me;
Joyous the news in the letter that's with them:
His work there is over,
He returns soon to me.

Silver the water that flows in the river;
Golden the sunshine that brightens the glen;
Silver and gold in my pockets I have some,
But once my love comes back
What shall I care then?

Silver the river that flows by the Gods'-Grove;
Golden the sunshine on the road from town;
Along walk my kin, and my true love to wed me:
Golden our rings now,
And silver my gown."

(She pauses in her song, and plays a few bars on the dulcimer alongside her friends' contributions to the music...)

Silver the water that flows in the river;
Golden the sunshine that brightens the glen:
Silver and gold shine on us and on our cubs_
Now my love's with me,
And all's right again.""

Our votes were determined by an online poll run by Quod FM. Given our country has a population of 5 million, the resulting vote tally of 124 million was a little surprising; as it turned out, rival Internet communities had each decided to hack (http://musicmachinery.com/2009/04/15/inside-the-precision-hack/) the poll for their particular favourites.

Results:

1pt: Nethertopia
2pts: Bears Armed
3pts: Qazox
4pts: Cachette de Lions
5pts: Kura-Pelland
6pts: Taeshan
7pts: Cafundeu

Scianawski: So we're at the end now. Last two songs, Nethertopia and Bears Armed.

Niewienski: Yeah, the songs are over, but we still have to do the voting! So, let's take a look at all the songs. We'll do Nethertopia and Bears Armed as well, got to get them done somehow.

Scianawski: Okay, Zwangzug first, with a simple piano song and the worst show opening ever. Then we have Wijaska Island, I can't wait to be a terrorist! Whatever the hell a dodongo is. Iglesian Archipelago decides to slip on a fake moustache and pretend they're not Iglesian Archipelgo. Oh, wait, that's later.

Niewienski: They were pretending to be heavy metal! Qazox is got themselves timewarped, Cafundeu has something with a jeep, more on that later. Then we come in a more professional You Lied. Scotchpinestan has an alternative rock band, or, according to Iglesian Archipelago, a drunken seven-year old boy.

Scianawski: Didn't anyone tell them that red bull has no alcohol in it? Not even in Swilatia! Cachette de Lions brings us some WPS propaganda. Q-something of dust has an unpronouncable name, so it will be a bit more difficult for them to get points, no-one will know who to vote for.

Niewienski: Well, except Zwangug. They'll have problems with Rejistania. Next is our cultural response to all Seven Castles entries, a Valeneska entry! They aren't a Swilatia clone yet, but they recently dumped communism and are working on becoming one.

Scianawski: Well, it's the first time the entries are similar. We'd mention the whole Swilla thing, but no-one uses levias anyway. After that of course is the original Seven Castles. The Iglesian one of course. Once again, it's just like Iglesian, minus the heavy metal. Then it's Taeshan.

Niewienski: We already said too much. That one's only 3 seconds anyway. Esperantujo 2 send a bunch of monkeys. Kura-Pelland send their usual theatrical snoozefest. Rejistania's song is, er, I don't know because I can't google it. Damn, why can't they just sing in English like a normal country?

Scianawski: Kemball Island talk about how, er, something to do with Politics. Fortunately Swilatia doesn't have a conservative party, so this song can't be about us. Nethertopia has another stupid love song. Bears Armed have another stupid "traditional" song. Of course, "quotation marks" "around" "everything" "because" "they" "just" "like" to "talk" "like" "this".

Niewienski: And now the voting starts! We'll be doing our live coverage as always, first country to give their votes is... Iglesian Archipelago!

And now it's the Sarenaski calling, with the result of the Valeneska votes!

One points goes to the Esperantujo 2

Two points goes to the Kingsley Bedford!

Three points goes to the Wijaska Island!

Four points goes to the Iglesian Archipelago

Five points goes to the Seven Castles

Six points goes to the Qazox!

Seven points goes to the Nethertopia

Eight points goes to the Rejistania!

Ten points goes to the Cachette de Lions!

And finally, the twelve points from the Valeneska voting goes to the Swilatia!

Edit: Removed Quod since they withdrew.

They can, actually. There's a rule about puppet ownership because of this, but I'm not sure how strictly it's enforced.Given Swilatia has three nations in the competition, one of which has just given him 12 points, not that strictly, I assume.

Once I've finished posting with Golgothastan I'll log back into QoD to confirm our withdrawal from the competition.

Actually they can. We have a limit of 2 puppets (3 nation total) per nation, so that one cannot take too much advantage from this.

Quintessence of Dust officially withdraws from WorldVision 9. We ask nations yet to vote not to cast any votes for us; any existing votes can be donated to a good cause.

Thank you, and no hard feelings: it's entirely my fault for not reading up on the rules when I signed up. If I'd realized puppetwanking was allowed, I wouldn't have entered.

IC reason: Michel Marberger has had a surprise recall to the World Cup squad and as such BCRC cannot remain in Kingsley-Bedford,

Niewienski: And the first country to give their votes is... Iglesian Archipelago!

Scianawski: And look! It's their presenters! Somehow they were able to get them both to present the show from Futuria and call over from Los Vientos at the same time!

Niewienski: Not only that, but because Future-World doesn't exist anymore, they say we're in Kingsley Bedford. So that makes three countries. This is just making less sense by the day!

Scianawski: It's be over by tomorrow. The contest is only 3 hours. One to Rejistania... speak up, we can't hear you!

Niewienski: I don't know if that's the best idea. By the time they get to the twelve points, they'll have it turned up to 20.

Scianawski: That's what they always do... we're at Seven Castles you can already tell it's getting louder. Get ready... and we can never hear the 1 point.

Niewienski: Yeah, okay, thank you for the 12 points, but you didn't have to scream it! But we're in the lead. Next, Cachette de Lions.

Scianawski: Hello from Whiscombe in Cachette de Lions! So these guys can actually decide we're they're calling from, that's a plus.

Niewienski: It's just an average voting announcement.

Scianawski: Yeah, we should just wate to see who they give top points to. At least that might have something to say about.

Niewienski: And so, now, for the big three scores... they give... 8 to Iglesian Archipelago. To fake metal.

Scianawski: I guess there are weirder votings... We get ten, and twelve... twelve.

Niewienski: To Bears Armed.

Scianawski: Yeah, unfortunately that is part of a normal vote. Now the Cachettians were nice enough to provide a standings, so let's see... we're tied with Bears Armed, but if there's any justice in the world...

Niewienski: We don't need a third win.

Scianawski: Would you rather bears armed won? Next vote, Quintessence of Dust. They'll just flash theirs up. Twelve to scotchpinestan.

Niewienski: That's weird... they're using some one radio station though... so we can expect anything. That's like letting IC forum decide the Swilatian vote... 12 to I don't even know where.

Scianawski: Not to mention it was hacked. Which almost makes me wonder... why does the SBC use internet voting? Next, Valeneska.

Niewienski: And this is the Sarenaski... now as you know, there have been a lot of Sarenaski impersonators out there...

Scianawski: Why would some-one want to... they're just impersonating Vilvek now. Look at their enty. This guy uses "the" for everything. The Kingsley Bedford, The Wijaska Island, etc.

Niewienski: What's even weirder is those countries would get points... but let's continue... who are there top scores?

Scianawski: ...and Twelve to Swilatia!! Well, that time has come... if you have any levias, you've still eight months to get rid of them. They still have a bit of homework though.

"And the results are in!"

"Zwangzug will award its first point to..."

"Wait, hold on a second."

"The suspense!"

"No, seriously, hold it." That one pundit dashes off the stage.

The other guy shrugs. "Should have known it would come to this. Anyway, as I was saying, Zwangzug will award its first point to..."

"Nah." One of the commentators from the funny desk ambles in. "Don't even bother. We have to revote."

"What?"

"Quintessence of Dust dropped out. Their songwriter has to get back to participate in the World Cup."

"Oooh, again with the World Cup...but seriously, can't he be a day late?"

"A day?" The funny-desk pundit's eyebrows rise in a this-is-worse-than-I-thought gesture. "No, no, there's time dilation! Future-World doesn't even exist anymore!"

"The country doesn't exist anymore and you're worried about some Quodite getting to the World Cup on time? I think there are a couple more important considerations!"

"...Look. Everyone is still alive, at least everyone that's not from Future-World, I don't know where they are, but they're alive. And Quintessence of Dust has dropped out, so we have to revote because they would have gotten a lot of points from Zwangzug."

"Can't we just use what we have?"

"Too much disenfranchisement."

"Okay, so how long is this going to take?"

"Pretty long--we have to reassign the phone numbers and URLs. The other anchor thinks that a bunch of Zwangzug citizens would try voting for BCRC again if they got the chance, and they were keen on that point."

"Hmm. I'm pleasantly surprised."

"Why is that?"

"Because the alternative is having them switch their votes because BCRC dropped out!"

"Okay, yeah. Um...see ya."

The pundit departs and the other anchor reemerges. "Told you so."

"Yeah, whatever. Hey, as long as we don't have anything to do, and nobody's paying attention to us, let's go through these songs and see how much they suck!"

"Yeah, that way we won't have to waste the rest of the world's time during the actual results!"

They high-five each other, far too pleased at their brilliance. "Okay, so first off we had...um, Hobbyhoarse."

"Don't vote for them."

"Second off we had Wijaska Island."

"Yeah, what was that about?"

"No idea. Then came Iglesian Archipelago."

"That might have been their best song yet. "we shouldn't see pain/Because it makes us suffer" -- it's utterly rational!"

"Glad you liked it. After that was Qazox."

"Old fogeys. Rockin' ones, though!"

"Then came Cafundéu...something tells me it won't do as well in Zwangzug as a couple of its predecessors."

"You're probably right. ZM...hmm, also commentating on the life of a rock band. Could they steal votes from Tripe?"

"Doesn't matter. Next up is Kingsley Bedford and to be honest I'm scared that that doesn't look like it sucks less."

"...What?"

"That's horribly pathetic. But nothing before it was any good, either! People are probably going to vote for it!"

"Better that than Beef."

"Do you, like, lack the brainpower to understand how the subversion of the traditional dichotomies of pain and pleasure makes that such an awesome song?"

"Yeah."

"Well, then was Cachette de Lions. Bet you liked them."

"Yeah! How'd you know!"

"Oh, it's the thing these days. Everyone wants to be independent and nonconformist."

"Wha...wait..."

"Then was Quintessence of Dust. So much better than anything we'd seen so far. Bet that's why it got so many votes."

"That and it's awesome. Really a pity they couldn't stay."

"Oh well. Then Valeneska."

"Sad to say, Terasovka put me in mind more of Beef than Word. Not like the country she comes from has any bearing on her musical ability, obviously."

"Next came Seven Castles. Meh."

"And then...oh yes, the Other White Meat."

"It's made inroads in Zwangzug for what I hear, despite the fact that it's not good at all."

"You're right! The train I ride in the mornings seems to have it on every day. It used to freak me out, but then I started imagining it was the devil singing, and then I never took it seriously again."

"Oh...kay...Esperantujo 2."

"That was cute!"

"Something tells me it's going to get a lot more points than it deserves."

"Charlotte Pinter...vaguely sweet."

"Yep...oh, then was Rejistania."

"That was sort of like Wage, I thought."

"To the extent that they both could have been a lot better, yes."

"Ooh, the political rant of however-frequently-we-have-WorldVision!"

"And it looks like they have a bleepinator too!"

"Excellent."

"Let's see. Another Nethertopian love song."

"And then Urratharra and Friends. Not bad."

"Well, we'll be back as soon as this voting actually happens..."

Niewienski: And the next country to give their votes is Qazox.

Scianawski: Okay. Qazox. And it sems these quys just want to get through with it, one point.

Niewienski: Well...

Scianawski: They said it, and the 12 is more important... when they get there soon... eight to Swilatia

Niewienski: It's kind of weird how we're usually so high now... Sure beats 11th though. 12 points to... Kura-Pelland!

Scianawski: I guess that's why they send the same kind of stuff every year, because they know they'll get points from some countries

Niewienski: Yeas, but some countries isn't enough to win. They need most countries. And a lot of 12's and 7's.

Scianawski: Thankfully... why would any of us want Kura-Pelland to win? And when they tried to be different... yeah, next country, Kemball Island.

Niewiesnki: After 2 days of voting in which an incredible 65% of Kemball Island went to the polls for WVSC 9, our results are in...

Scianawski: 2 days?!? The rest of us only had 15 minutes to vote. And if that's how long it took them to get 65% of the country to vote. Well, they never show us this for WorldVision, but in piosenka dla Swilasji, we have more then 220% voting.

Niewienski: One point to Swilatia... well, it's a start... now these guy will just keep going, so what's the 12?

Scianawski: 10 to Iglesian Archipelago... 12 to Valeneska!!

Niewiesnki: Well, I guess people want to have metal in the contest, real or not. And hell, these guys have an obsession with fake stuff, because rather then vote for a real Swilatian song, they vote for an imitation.

Scianawski: They did give us a point didn't they? We already won once, we don't need to win again. we already won twice, we don't need to win again.

Niewienski: And if Valeneska wins... what will that count as? Next country to vote... Zwangzug

Scianawski: And the results are in... again. Yeah, there's Zwangzug for you... they couldn't just take Quod from the rankings and continue, but they had to re-do the whole voting.

Niewiesnki: Well, they're finally voting now...

Scianawski: And 10 to Kura-Pelland... and with twelve, "you've got to be kidding me"

Niewienski: None, they voted properly this year... they just don't want to announce their 12 points.

Scianawski: Must be like Taeshan or something then... but they still have to announce it. It's the only thing that can keep the contest going now... will some-one just give the 12 points already!

Niewienski: Alright then... they give 12 to... okay, now they are... Esperantujo 2?!? And we thought 12 to Kura-Pelland was strange.

Scianawski: Well, if Kura-Pelland get 10, we should expect something. But why would they redo the voting for this? Who got 12 originally? Who got 10?

Niewienski: It doesn't matter. No-one cares about Zwangzug anymore. Next, Seven Castles.

Scianawski: Votes from seven castles, this should be a quick one. 1... 2... they'll get to 12 soon enough.

Niewienski: And 12 to Zwangzug. Well, I guess some-one still remembered about them. It would save them from finishing last... maybe even reming other countries that Zwangzug exist... this is all your fault seven castles!

Here is Nina Musikisto with the results from Esperantujo 2. We had a problem here. Because the Friendly Monkeys were performing, we had to give them a vote, and that meant we had to include the Charmuloj as well. However, when we added up the votes it made no difference whether we included only homo sapiens sapiens or everybody. Anyway here is our vote.

SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage

Scianawski: And the next country to give their votes is... Wijaska Island!

Niewienski: Wijaska Island Televoting Results... It's kind of weird... they always have the worst entries, yet they don't do much when the voting comes.

Scianawski: Well, maybe they'll chose weird places to give 12 to...

Niewiesnki: They just gave four to Kingsley Bedford... they won't get twelve. So there's still Esperantujo 2 and Taeshan.

Scianawski: Esperantujo 2 already got one twelve, that's enough. If they win... well, people might, er...

Niewienski: Esperantujo 2 got six. A while ago.

Scianawski: Well, whatever. There's also Taeshan. And if they win, that's going to kill WorldVision over here in Swilatia. Maybe piosenka... whatever, twelve to Cachette de Lions!

Niewiesnki: Well, I'll admit that wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but, still, what happen? Didn't you guys use to be more random?

Scianawski: Well, maybe when Wavispa votes... if we're still be covering WorldVision 10. Next Votes, Scotchpinestan.

Niewienski: Scothpinestan results... I guess these will all be quick ones.

Scianawski: At least it means the contest will be done faster... Iglesian Archipelago 1? You guys have it backwards.

Niewiesnki: And Kemball Island two. But it could be worse, some countries have it even more backwards. 12 first, then there's no point in the other points at all...

Scianawski: Was there ever? You don't win the contest from straight fours and fives.

Niewienski: Maybe Zwangzug won WorldVision 6 that way... I could imagine a Zwangzug song getting two many 12's. We weren't in that one. Twelve points to Cachette de Lions!

Scianawski: Again? Now it's kind of weird. But some-one has to get it. Next country to give their votes is Cafundeu. And following the current trent, this should ba fast announcement ending in 12 to Cachette de Lions.

Niewiesnki: Well, they're going quickly... 2 to Kemball Island. Yeah, no-one cares about the two, but we should prolly cover more positions then one and 12!

Scianawski: Wait... Kemball Island?

Niewienski: Yeah, but that's just two points. They could have easily gotten nothing Twelve to...

Scianawski: Cachette de Lions?

Niewienski: Cachette de Lions.

Scianawski: Looks like we have this years winner then. It could end here, but there are still a few more to vote. Next, Esperantujo 2.

Niewienski: "Here is Nina Musikisto with the results from Esperantujo 2. We had a problem here. Because the Friendly Monkeys were performing, we had to give them a vote, and that meant we had to include the Charmuloj as well"... what the hell are Charmuloj?

Scianawski: Prolly Esperantujo...ish for monkeys or something like that.

Niewienski: Monkeys can use cell phones?

Scianawski: Well, if bears can enter WorldVision... why not? The 12 points will still go to Cachette de Lions either way...

Niewiesnki: Well, we will see... one point... no, let's wait for two points...

Scianawski: Let's wait for eight points, because that's where the important ones start.

Niewienski: Waiting... waiting... fuck that, four to Iglesian Archipelago.

Scianawski: Now why did any-one need to know that?

Niewienski: No idea... We just need to fill the space. Eight to bears armed, the other country with animals on Stage. we're not the only ones who block-vote so stop whining, quod.

Scianwski: They're gone for good. Something with the World Cup. Twelve points to Cachette de Lions.

Niewienski: Every-one's doing that, aren't they? Makes it hard to believe there's still another 7 or so countries to vote.

Victor: Does this mean... we won?
Daniela: YES!!!
<Victor runs around the green room for a minute high-fiving all the other acts before running onto the stage waving a Cachettian flag, then up to the hosts (whoever they happen to be since Future-World no longer exists) and hugging them ecstatically before jumping up and down.>
Victor: THANK YOU WORLD! THANK YOU! VIVE LA CACHETTE DE LIONS!
The band then all arrives on stage to play their reprise, to great applause from the audience.

And the ministry of culture has sent this message:
CACHETTIAN MINISTRY OF CULTURE

Thanks to all of the countries taking part in the ninth edition of the WorldVision song contest for voting for our entry, and well done to Victor, Daniela and the band, you have done your country proud.

Katya Verbaijean: Produced in our Harani mountains by rural tribes, this is a special gift to the delegation of Cachette De Lions

*Pres. Turskchenko hands the ornament to the winners*

Katya: And now before we end the show, let's hear the winning song again!!!!
