Long:
Greetings,

I started playing this online game www.blackoutrugby.com

Basically you are a manager of your own rugby team. It sets you up in league play however it also has the ability to set up your own friendlies against other teams. I was thinking possibly those interested might set up their own club teams based on their NS cities and participate in a league tournament (basically where we have 'x' amount of teams and everyone plays each other twice, whoever has the most points at the end of the season is crowned NS league champion).

It could run alongside how blackout rugby has their cups and leagues set up (I have already participated in a similar tourney such as this). All teams have to do is be active and ensure they challenge the right team from week to week to make it work

I can advise everyone with hints on how to build a good team for the game. My team right now is doing quite well (in tier 3 but able to hold my own against tier 1 teams) and I have been playing since December 2008.

So who is up for this? Again this is for CLUB TEAMS, not NATIONS (so as to differentiate it from the current rugby league and rugby union NATION competition threads)

Cheers, ES
PS: Blackout Rugby Game Hints:

-set your junior team and regular team to the tactic of (WNWIM - with next week in mind) as this helps you gain more experience - the only time you EVER want to do otherwise is during promotion/regulation matches, cup matches, playoffs, and I suspect any tournament we run in NS there for club teams, lol).
-timid players suck, they do not go into rucks much, avoid at all costs at auction, sell yours
-reckless and rebellious players suck, they get you penalties so try and avoid these players
-when you log in your team will probably have no players higher then 10k skill points (referred to as 'CSR'). Rectify this by going on the auction site on the game and get some good players (NEVER PAY HIGHER THEN 15K FOR A PLAYER, TRUST ME)
-your pack weight and height is VERY important in this game, get players who are the following...
-props should be equal in weight (5 kgs max difference) and the shorter the better (though the hooker needs to be shorter then both props) - both should be similar in height (5 cms difference max is your goal). You want to aim for front row weight of minimum 120 kgs per player
-max height for a front row player should be 190 cms
-minimum height for locks should be 204cms (you want them both similar) else do not expect to win lineouts much
-ideal strength and technical skills for front row players and locks is 9 and 8 respectively MINIMUM
-stamina and defense for all players is very important, a bare minimum for all players is 6 and 7 respectively
-handling is important for scrumhalfs
-agility is important for backs
-there is more but this is a good start (seeing your team will probably be better then mine at the moment as a result, lol)

Current teams involved in the upcoming RUGBY CHAMPIONS CUP:

I'm quite happy with NSFootySim, thanks, and I think Quintessence of Dust or someone else will soon set up a Champions' League of the kind we're more accustomed to.

Greetings,

Cool, just wanted to present another option that would allow continual competition with little to no set up and no questions about integrity. You definitely have legitimate points about the difference of this method compared to what has been used in the past however so I appreciate your points :)

Basically if I read this right, you're advertising an external browser-based game for use as a tournament on NS? Not really feasible.

Greetings,

It will work for those willing to consider a new way to sim matches.

Not when matches on NS often consider RP bonus it won't.

PopularFreedom, it would behoove you to read up on our sports competitions and understand why we don't use FIFA Manager 09 or whatever for our soccer championships and won't be flocking to a web-based coaching game for our rugby championships.

Then don't sign up. Simple really.

And as I seem to remember taking on PopularFreedom way back in the old Under-21 world cup and seeing the nation crop up in the world cup itself and the domestic league thread I imagine he's at least somewhat read up on the sports competitions.

Greetings,

I am suggesting an idea, those who are interested can join up, those who are not feel free to ignore. I understand quite well why other games are not used for championships here as much. :)

Just curious, do I know you from before as another nation? lol :)

Liventia has raised an excellent point in that RPing could not be taken into account in blackout rugby (although in some RPs it is not taken into account much either though I digress). :) Either way, I still welcome the opportunity to face off against anyone who is interested in my proposition as I view it as less of a hassle for reasons already outlined.

Cheers, Eagle Scream

Fair enough. I hope you enjoy your thing.

You don't know me--I only just joined up a few weeks ago.
