Should everyone vote?

I have the pending issue of whether to make voting for the nation's leader compulsory or optional. In my opinion, to keep true to democratic views, it should be optional and should be a choice open for each individual to make, but making it compulsory to vote has its positive aspects too, such as the fact that there will be a more accurate view as to whom should be elected from the public. Any ideas?

Firstly, g'day and welcome to NS. Hope you enjoy yourself while you're here!

Secondly, I'm afraid you've picked the wrong forum. No worries, most people do it at one point or another, but this forum's for in-character, text-based roleplaying. Browse the threads here and you'll see what commonly goes on: wars, diplomacy, trade, cultural and social events, and so forth. Your question is more suited to the Gamplay forum (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1234), which deals with matters pertaining to NationStates the browser game, i.e. what you sign into at www.nationstates.net.

I'd suggest either asking a Mod to move this topic (they can be found in the Moderatrion forum, http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1231), or alternatively, deleting the topic located in this forum and posting it again in the aforemaneitoned Gameplay forum.

Hope this is of some use to you, and again, good to ahve another player join the ranks :)
