WorldVision Song Contest 9 (Signups, Wide Open)

Well, WorldVision 8 is almost over, so it's about time to start the next signups. For those who have never participated before, here's the breakdown:

This is baisically an NS version of Eurovision, with the same basic structure of countries selecting, performing and voting on songs. Except this contest open to countries in any region. Countries paricipating in the contest are also allowed to enter a maximum of two puppet nations.

After the signups, the contest is done through two RP threads. The first is the national finals thread, in which all countries select their songs for the contest. The second thread is the actual contest, in which all the performances (with song lyrics), votings and other RP's are posted.

Oh, and one last thing, all songs in the contest must be original. No cover versions. Parodies are okay though

The Holy Empire signs up again.

Despite the coming [IC] controversy when Thunderhammer try and lock up the Spoons in the lavatory and attempt to claim Future World's trophy for winning WorldVision 8 (the only reason you don't know about that yet is that I'm waiting for the result to become official before writing the RP), the Holy Empire also submits its bid to host WorldVision 9 in the Dreamed Realm, in the Imperial Hippodrome.

The theme of our bid is 'Making Your Dreams Come True...'

Through the malleable reality of the Dreamed Realm, each act participating in WorldVision 9 will be able to choose any setting for their performance, from a stark minimalist set through to a lush tropical jungle.

You want live wild beasts stalking the stage? You've got'em.

You want a chorus of nationalistic Poles mildly resentful that Jan Sobieski doesn't get enough credit for lifting the second siege of Vienna? You've got'em.

You want the fires of Hell itself to lick around the feet of your Satanic heavy metal act? You've got'em.

You want a chorus of angels to sing sweet lullabies to sleeping children? You've got'em.

You want to recreate the battle of Gaugamela using giant alien Elvis impersonators while performing hanging upside down from the ceiling and using your eight arms to play an ode to Shiva across your guitar with seven fret boards? You've got it.

You want to win WorldVision? Errrr... can't promise that one. We don't control the voting, after all.

A few more details on the Imperial Hippodrome - suggested venue for WorldVision 9 - can be found here (http://www.nswiki.net/index.php?title=Alasdair_I_Frosticus#Architecture).

That same link will also provide more information on the Holy Empire generally (though some of the info is now slightly out of date).

Future-World's host bid for WorldVision 9

Future-World is a nation well known for their music, even though they have only participated in WorldVision twice they have won both thanks to their skilled musicians. And now Future-World prepares the Capital City of Futuria to host the worlds largest music competition.
The show would be held on the Riana Stadium, named after the old town in which it is placed. The arena is a modern structure with all the modern equipment needed, first rate surround system makes sure the music is heard fully on all seats. The arena can hold 25.000 persons and as it is located in the old town it is in the close vicinity of hotels, restaurants and of course the airport which is only a few kilometres away with regular bus lines always going.

Slow down, it's not the national finals thread yet.

Also, if Celdstane want to participate, they need their own sign-up post.

Well, we prepared early! :D

I am not sure if another nation within Astholm is allowed to participate here. Is this allowed?

Well, if it's an actual NS naton, you can always log on to it, and post with it.

if it's not, you can always make one.

And to bears armed: Do you have to put quotes arod everything?

I'm not sure multiple accounts are allowed for it, and it's not an NS nation for now, just a province of one.

Multiple accounts are fine, as long as you don't try having more than one of your nations as a member of the World Assembly at the same time (which is against the rules): In fact, at one stage when I had more free time in which to play around, I -- as was known to the Mods, who didn't object -- had over 90 different (and quite widely differing...) nations in existence simultaneously!
And there's acknowledged-as-acceptable precedent for referring to what are actually just provinces IC as 'nations' OOC, to get them separate accounts for posting, too... although I'm not sure how this competition's rules regard such a situation.

Holy cow, 90 nations?
Well, yes, but there were never more than about a dozen at a time actually active, rather than just sitting there in 'vacation mode'... and then RL intruded rather significantly on my NS time, for most of last year, so I let about 2/3 of them CTE.
Of course, as you know, there are a few newer ones that I've created since then (such as 'The Wandering Island' (http://www.nationstates.net/the_wandering_island), and 'The Bear Islands' (http://www.nationstates.net/the_bear_islands)), too, but even so the current total is probably "only" 50 or so...
