BUMP.
seriously, please sign up. I Don't care if you have never even heard of rugby, let alone can distinguish league from union, it's just NS, come have some fun. it's quite similar to american football, so come and try something new, all you gridiron crazed nations!
Kjomasasopia

OK!
i have decided to wait a little while for another world cup,but would anyone be interested in a 6 Nations tournament for the time being?
btw, you will still be signed up for the 3rd world cup...it just wont happen yet.

Given the Rugby League Cup happened more recently, maybe it's time for another Rugby Union World Cup?
I'd take part in a Rugby Union x Nations; sorry, just don't have any interest in League, though.
Kura-Pelland
02-03-2009, 23:08
Oh why not. 'Rugby 13s' is growing in popularity in Kura-Pelland (yes, the union code is called 'rugby 15s', before you ask), due to offering play similar to gridiron but without the equipment requirements. It's particularly growing at schools level, sometimes as an alternative to touch/flag gridiron, and a young team is likely to be fielded by Kura-Pelland.

I would say its best we wait until atleast 10 teams turn up, then just do the WC.

QoD: if anything happens revolving around a rugby league or union tournament, i'd realllllly like to host.
so thats what, 8?
ok, i'll sign up Idanno for the time being. i'll close signups on the 15th of march, so if you want to enter, go for it. 2 spots minimum left!

Any idea on rules/system used yet? Is there some kind of international body to govern stuff like that and hosts? I'd like to put my name forward to host, just for some competition ;)
Kjomasasopia
04-03-2009, 11:42
^ application to host accepted. but dont expect to win ;)
and as for rules/shit? i'm using a homemade scorinator. if you want details, i can tg with them.
Lurikastan
04-03-2009, 13:22
As the previous host and reigning champs. It is only fair that Lurikastan sees a place. And if possible The Yorozuya also.
Somewhereistonia
04-03-2009, 17:16
Ok, can you TG me them, when is the competition going to be? Does anyone want to set up some friendlies before then?
Kjomasasopia
04-03-2009, 23:42
^sure thing!
yeah, good point about frendlies, if anyone wants to play them, say so now. personally, i'm up for them.
Somwhere....: the tournament will begin on the 15th i've decided.
Lurikastan: thanks for coming back to defend. about Yorozuya, thats cool, but if another real nation signs up, they are either out, or i can put them in and keep idanno, so we can have 12.

Well what Sorthern layed down at RLWC I: Sorthern Northland and what we did at RLWC II: Lurikastan/The Yorozuya is probably how its going to go. Unless Kjo or whoever hosts wants to differentiate from that. One note about hosting though. Is that you cant host consecutively. (or else we would've bid for a sole Lurikastani bid (although if you remember last time only a few games were in The Yorozuya)).
About friendlies, LUR would like to have a rematch against Kjo (RLWC I semis) and would like to play any other willing teams.

Lurikastan, you up for a friendly say the 8th? Will be my nations first international in any sport.
Kjomasasopia
06-03-2009, 04:26
Lurika: what format did you guize use?
and sure, i'll play you in the 10th. sound good?
and as for LUR vs SOM.....that can happen if you want me to scorinate for you guize.
Somewhereistonia
06-03-2009, 04:38
yer, you can scorinate, when do you want team lists?
So (hopefully) LUR v SOM on 8th and SOM v KJO on 10th (thus being 1 home and 1 away).

^dude, I was offering Lurika the 10th, but i will play you on the 9th. and because i have seen nothing as an attempt of a bid for hosting, i announce that the hosts for the 3rd Rugby League World Cup are KJOMASASOPIA!
and have rosters ready for your first RP, which should mention the starting team or the squad you have sent.
All Friendlies will be played in Kjomasasopia, to get players adjusted to the climate here before beginning the RLWC.
Lurikastan Vs Somewhereistonia (If Confirmed by Lurika): Sunday 8th of March, Kickoff Approximately 7:30 PM (GMT +10) at Snowplane Cricket Ground, Snowplane, MS. RP allowed from Midday (GMT +10). everything else will not count towards bonus. Bonus is removed after all friendlies have been played.
Kjomasasopia Vs Somewhereistonia: Monday 9th of March, Kickoff Approximately 5:00 PM (GMT +10) at Kili Kili Super Stadium, Kili Kili, KJ. RP allowed from 10:30 AM (GMT +10). everything else will not count towards bonus. Bonus is removed after all friendlies have been played.
Kjomasasopia Vs Lurikastan (again, if confirmed): Tuesday 10th of March: Kickoff Approximately 8:00 PM (GMT +10) at New Lansdowne, New Dublin, NI. RP allowed from Midday (GMT +10). everything else will not count towards bonus. Bonus is removed after all friendlies have been played.

http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=585869 <--- I've now put one up, I invite you do to the same, and anyone else who's interested. I suggest that people vote on them by 12th, which means that the bid should be up by the 10th. This gives time to compose a bid, ample voting time and space before the tournament. Pre-tournament friendlies can be played before this in a normal home/away basis (as is done in real life).
Kura-Pelland

Kura-Pelland announce their interest in hosting the Rugby League World Cup. Thread to follow this weekend.
Sorthern Northland
06-03-2009, 22:48
SNorthland signs up!
Somewhereistonia
07-03-2009, 04:27
Why did you close the signups? We can easily have 12, 16 etc teams, in fact 16 teams is a lot easier to organise.
People can continue to sign up if they want; if I host I will make sure all interested parties can play.
Kjomasasopia
07-03-2009, 04:57
YES!
ok, i think we have 10.
So! signups are closed, unless we get another even number of real nations wanting to play.

Signups should continue till at least the 12th, the host should then sort out the numbers with puppets etc. 3 days is plenty of time to do so, assuming the start date is still 15th.
Also, i'm not playing my first international on snow, and I've decided to use the same scorinator for my friendly internationals as the cup; its the same as the previous world cups used (I really don't like yours).
Kjomasasopia
07-03-2009, 05:52
^ if you read it correctly, if we get an even number of real nations to add interest, they will get in, unless they put interest in after the 15th. also, my scorinator is awesome... and if i win the vote for host, and your team doesnt "show up" for the friendly, you will lose and start the RLWC with a neg rp bonus, because of the "negative reputation" your "squad" will get for "no-showing" a "game".
Somewhereistonia
07-03-2009, 06:05
Why bother saying its closed then. We could easily get 1 more puppet to make it even if need be; so closing it was entirely unnecessary.
The organisation of friendlies is up to the nations playing them, not any other nations thus, any such suggested meddling for what you call no shows could only be seen as corruption. I also never accepted the dates, times, venues etc you posted. So there is no confirmed games as yet for me to not show up to.
Kjomasasopia
07-03-2009, 13:04
^ those venues i posted will only go ahead if i get to host.
and it's not like we are going to get a flood of nations wanting to play league, we only just scraped 10.
fuck it, signups open till the 12th. i've really stopped giving a shit. do what you want.
Somewhereistonia
08-03-2009, 01:51
By the looks of it, Kjo has pulled out completely so, bids to host are myself and KP and anyone else who wants to host can bid before 10th.
Current teams:
1. Kemball Island
2. Alversia
3. Taeshan
4. Lovisa
5. Peisandros
6. Kura-Pelland
7. Somewhereistonia
8. Lurikastan
9. Sorthern Northland
10. Tom Griff
11. Norwellia
12. Yorozuya
This will be open to applicants till the 12th (although I will probably accept new teams until the 14th), feel free to suggest friendlies with teams, even if you don't want to participate in the cup.

*bump*
If nobody else signs up, and I host, I will add Yorozuya in if this is ok. So there will be two groups of 4 and one group of three, with the bottom team in each dropping out and the rest going onto the quarter finals.
Norwellia
19-03-2009, 03:27
Is there still time to sign up, or is this show on the road already?
Somewhereistonia
19-03-2009, 03:47
Well, KP is hosting but the numbers easily allow extras I think. So when KP is next online he should be able to tell you.
Kura-Pelland
19-03-2009, 13:13
We had eleven, we now have twelve, and that makes things easier.
Two groups of six it is - draw will take place at around 1900 UTC (approximately seven hours forward of this post time).
