Kelssekian Alliance - International cultural organisation
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r56/kelchek/kelssekianalliance.png
The Kelssekian Alliance or Alliance kelssekienne (sometimes referred to by the acronym AKA) is an international organisation whose objective is the promotion of Kelssek culture abroad. It offers language instruction in English and French, as well as sponsoring and organising events like film and music festivals, theatre productions, book clubs, and other cultural activities. It also arranges educational progams like student exchanges and helps recruit international students who wish to pursue education in Kelssek.
It is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, although it does receive some funding from the federal Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Its primary revenue source is from its language classes and cultural activities.
At this time, the Alliance is seeking to expand its international presence. If you would like the Alliance to establish a branch in your nation, please post here. In addition, this thread can be used to propose student exchange programs and other similar educational and cultural arrangements.
For more information on Kelssek universities, a list of our more prominent institutions can be seen here (http://www.nswiki.net/index.php?title=List_of_universities_in_Kelssek), with several universities having more detailed NSWiki pages.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM AN ALLIANCE BRANCH
The exact facilities and size may vary depending on local needs, demand, and regulations, but this is generally what a branch will have:
- Several classrooms for language and other education courses
- Theatrette (size varies) for screening of films, theatre productions, music concerts, etc.
- Food and beverage outlet, usually a café which will also serve Kelssekian beers and liquors if permitted.
- Bookstore specialising in Kelssek literature and language textbooks for use in our classes, as well as music CDs/movie DVDs from Kelssek.
- Information centre for people who wish to pursue education in Kelssek, whether for elementary, secondary, college, or university studies.
Space may also be made available for rent to local businesses of a cultural nature such as ticketing agents.
(A note of clarification: In Kelssek "college", when used generally, means a technical school where education is focused towards a diploma or professional qualification, and not to a degree-granting university as in the common United States usage. I believe you Yanks would call it a "community college", in some other countries it would be called a "polytechnic" or "technology institute". Specifically, however, some universities have the word "College" in their name and some universities have collegiate systems somewhat like that at Oxford but these are mainly instances of anachronistic usage.)

I will join this organisation.
It's not something for nations to "join". It's something along the lines of the British Council or the Alliance française.
If you have ideas for things for us to do in your nation, like maybe sponsoring a hockey league, holding a Kelssekian beer (http://www.nswiki.net/index.php?title=Kelssekian_beer) or Wenerdere cheese (http://www.nswiki.net/index.php?title=Wenerdere_cheese) festival, etc., just let us know too.

Dear Mr. Crawford,
The government of Ad’ihan currently does not have full diplomatic ties with Kelssek, despite the close relationship your country has developed in the past two years with the former Outer Islands.
We feel that building cultural ties, beginning with the establishment of a number of Kelssekian Alliance offices in Ad’ihan, would be a good step forward towards cultural exchange and eventually diplomatic exchanges.
We would suggest the Kelssekian Alliance opens three Ad’ihani branch, one in the City of Ad’ihan, one in Navon Beach in Barrier Island, and one in Altsend in Grand Island, to increase ease of accessibility.
The Ad’ihani government would be willing to fund the construction of any or all of these offices.
Yours sincerely,
Mitch Holmes MP
Secretary of State for Culture, Sport and the Arts
United Islands of Ad’ihan

Dear Mr. Holmes,
I am glad to accept your request and suggestions. We are pleased to begin preparations to commence operations of the Alliance in those three cities as soon as possible. The offer of funds from your government is also much appreciated.
It is indeed heartening to cement these cultural ties between our nations and it is my hope that our Alliance will help to bring Kelssek and Ad'ihan closer together. For the first event we could organise in Ad'ihan, seeing as our nations share a common interest in sport, I would like to propose a tour of our national football team to play friendly matches against United Islands Premier teams.
I look forward to working in and with your nation. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any need.
Sincerely,
Daniel Crawford

Dear Mr. Crawford,
I am pleased to learn of your agreement to open Kelssekian Alliance offices here in Ad’ihan.
With regards to the proposed tour of the Kelssekian national football team, I would suggest your team take part in our season-opening Football Federation of Ad’ihan Challenge Trophy, which will feature the defending trophy champions and seven-time league winners CF Mont-Pluie, as well as two other as-yet-undetermined teams.
If I may, I would also like to suggest that two of our best ice hockey clubs, Kinney Road and Dullham, visit Kelssek to play a few games against Kelssekian clubs ahead of the Champions' Hockey League.
I look forward to a long relationship between Ad’ihan and the Kelssekian Alliance.
Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Crawford,
While Nethertopia is seen as one of the more cultured nations in Rushmore, we tend to have very few connections with countries outside our region. This especially in the area of culture, which is only heavy influenced by Candelaria And Marquez.
The Nethertopian government would like to see a change in this and therefore contacts you about the opening of two establishments in our nation. One located in the upper north, in the city of Mignon, and a second office in Stoedt, located in the south.
We also have an offer for you concerning the sponsoring of a football club, The Grey Towers. The club is performing in the highest Nethertopian football division.
Due to the fact that the Nethertopian department of Culture and Sports has recently gained extra funds to establish relationships with non-profit organisations like yours, the sponsorship of the football team will be funded by the ministry, as well as most expenses that would be made if you would open your branches.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours truly,
Mark van de Velde
Minister of Culture and Sports

Dear Mr. Daniel Crawford,
The Iglesian Archipelago is becoming more and more interested in Kelssek.
Here, in the archipelago, I suggest the Kelssekian Alliance to open a facility, located in Los Vientos, the capital.
I also suggest it also to sponsor a major Iglesian football team, Futebol Capital de Los Vientos, as it is one of the most famous Iglesian clubs.
Also, I suggest it to help us to open bars, cafés, restaurants, etc., that serve Kelssekian beers.
The Iglesian/Kelssekian relationship is still starting (we have twinned Los Vientos with Neorvins), but we expect an expansion in a short future.
Signed,
Mário Marques Oliveira,
Minister of Culture,
The Democratic Republic of Iglesian Archipelago.

Dear Mr. Holmes,
I am pleased to have made arrangements for the tour of hockey clubs as proposed in your previous letter. Olympique Dorval, Red Star Clayquot, and the Kirkenes Rangers have expressed interest in a friendly series and arrangements have been made accordingly.
Regards,
Daniel Crawford,
Chief Executive

Dear Mr. van de Velde,
Thank you for your letter. I am pleased to agree to the setting up of Alliance branches in the cities of Stoedt and Mignon.
The offer of funds from your government for the setting up of our operations is greatly appreciated and we would also agree to participate in the sponsorship program for publicity purposes, on the understanding that this would terminate should funds no longer be available from your government for this as we would not be able to fund such an arrangement on our own.
I am grateful that we have reached an agreement and I look forward to working with Nethertopia in the future.
Regards,
Daniel Crawford
Chief Executive

Dear Mr. Oliveira,
I am pleased to agree to the opening of a branch of the Alliance in Los Vientos. The Alliance will also seek to facilitate exports to any establishments in the Iglesian Archipelago wishing to serve beers from Kelssek.
However, I do regret that we are unable to enter into a sponsorship agreement as suggested. The Alliance's funds are limited and we cannot possibly afford the expenses that such arrangements are likely to entail, unless the expenses were to be fully covered by another entity.
I hope that we have your understanding in this matter. I look forward to future arrangements in the Iglesian Archipelago.

Sorthern Northland
26-02-2009, 22:36
Dear Mr. Crawford,
On behalf of the government of Sorthern Northland, I would like to applaud the idea of the Kelssekian Alliance, whilst also proposing a couple of ideas for the Kelssekian Alliance to establish itself in Sorthern Northland.
The first of these is for the establishment a branch office of the Kelssekian Alliance in our capital, Beningrad. I would also like to propose that should the Beningrad branch be successful in it's aim, a number of branches in other cities across the nation could be opened.
Secondly, I would also like to propose a Kelssekian tent at the upcoming Beningrad International Beer Festival, and invite Kelssekian breweries (particularly micros) to participate by selling their products at the festival. Although primarily a beer festival, there will also be a small selection of wines and spirits available at the event. Kelssekian producers of either are invited to sell their products at the event.
I thank you for your time, and look forward to building relations between our nations.
Sincerely,
Rórdán Mac Ádhaim
Foreign Secretary
The Eastern Westlands of Sorthern Northland
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r56/kelchek/aka-letterhead.png
Dear Mr. Rórdán Mac Ádhaim,
It will be our privilege to establish a branch of the Alliance in Beningrad. I am confident that we will be able to accomplish much through our activities.
I am also delighted to have secured the participation of the Kirkenes Microbreweries Association in the Beningrad International Beer Festival. The Antlers Brewery Cooperative, Brasserie des Castors, and the Brewing Cooperative of Kirkenes, and the producers of Alavaria vodka have also expressed interest in particpating.
I would also suggest that in return, your government or some other body in your nation would organise similar events in Kelssek to expose Kelssekians to beers from your nation. We have a strong culture of appreciation of quality alcoholic products, followed by getting hammered, and it is my hope that this sort of exchange can bring our nations closer together.
Regards,
Daniel Crawford
Chief Executive

Dear Mr. Crawford, I bring you greeting from my people desire a more open dialog with other nations of the world. I have read your synopsis of the Kelssekian Alliance and are intrigued.
According to your letter we would received the following
- Several classrooms for language and other education courses
- Theatrette (size varies) for screening of films, theatre productions, music concerts, etc.
- Food and beverage outlet, usually a café which will also serve Kelssekian beers and liquors if permitted.
- Bookstore specialising in Kelssek literature and language textbooks for use in our classes, as well as music CDs/movie DVDs from Kelssek.
- Information centre for people who wish to pursue education in Kelssek, whether for elementary, secondary, college, or university studies.
There are some members of our government who have raised concerns about foreign influences "corrupting" our culture, so to allay their fears, I suggest that we establish a temporary branch within our empire (in the capital, Myth Ishiaria, Silvarianna distict) which with be monitor by a committee consisting of members of the Internal security, Foreign office, and Cultural affairs departments. This committee will be empowered to monitor all influx of Kelssek culture items (printed material, movies, and songs) and food items. This committee will adjust what items can come in to our country to better serve both our countries. If this plan works for you please contact me in future

The honourable Lord Elmarian,
Thank you for your kind letter. Please be assured that it is not our intention to supplant your nation's proud culture, or indeed, the proud culture of any nation, but instead, it would be ideal to promote greater global understanding of all cultures. We are pleased to accept the offer of a temporary branch.
The Alliance will respect your nation's sovereign rights in regards to the importation of media and foods, on the understanding that our staff will not be subject to unfair prosecution or other action on the basis of materials being deemed objectionable. I apologise if this previous statement has caused offence, as we are not familiar with your nation's laws.
I look forward to working with your nation in future.

Attention: Daniel Crawford, Chief Executive, Kelssekian Alliance
Dear Mr. Crawford,
As a nation that values cultural diversity, the Republic of Ruccola wishes to invite the Kelssekian Alliance to establish a branch in our capital of Arugula. With Kelssek's heightened profile in the wake of the recent Winter Olympic Games in Alavaria, our government believes the expansion of Alliance activities to Ruccola will only serve to benefit the growing ties between our peoples, and lead to increased cultural and economic exchanges on a bilateral basis.
In addition, the Ministry of Culture would like to express its willingness to support your organisation's expansion to our country by financing the construction of the aforementioned branch and any initial costs associated with its establishment. We wish you every success in the promotion of Kelssek and its culture in our nation, and look forward to working with you in the near future.
Yours sincerely,

The honourable Liviana Cortese,
Thank you for your letter. It gives me great pleasure and honour to accept your invitation for the Alliance to set up a branch in Ruccola, and I am greatly thankful that your government will be bearing the costs.
It is my hope that you shall see that it is money well spent in the numerous contributions the Alliance shall make to the cultural life of Arugula and of Ruccola as a whole.
With most sincere regards,
Daniel Crawford
