It has been a while since the last one has been held. During that time, the game consolidated at the club level, as the Champions Hockey League (http://nswiki.net/index.php?title=Champions_Hockey_League) formed. But many hockey players have, in recent years, complained about the lack of an international competition. Well, the wait for these players is now over, as the International Board of Ice Hockey has sent a communiqué to the world asking countries to gather to one country for another World Cup of Hockey. After so long a hiatus, it is hoped the event will gather interest as the best hockey players, including professional players, from around the world will face each other for the World Cup.

Scorinator

NSFS 2.0.7 modified to replicate hockey scores

Style Modifiers

Due to a flaw in their implications in the scorinator, modifiers will be restricted to a -3 (most defensive) to +3 (most offensive). If no modifier is specified, 0 will be the modifier assigned to the team.

Format

The group stage will consist of 4 groups of 5 with the top two from each group moving on to the playoffs. The playoffs will be a Best of Three series, with the group winners hosting the first game and third game if necessary. There will be no overtime periods during pool play. During the knockout round, there will be one period of overtime if the game is tied at the regulation, which will be sudden death. If there is no winner after the period of overtime, the game will go to a shootout of five skaters. If there is no winner after the five skaters, the shootout will move into a sudden death mode.

In the event of a three or more way tie, the criteria will be used to eliminate one team, and then be reused to eliminate the other team(s) until a the tie is broken. If the tie can not be broken through the use of the above criteria, there will be a playoff to decide the winner.

You did, but I can't find them anywhere now (Might of dissapeared when I had to re-install stuff a couple of months ago after I had to wipe my comp clean 'cause of a virus.)

Quick clarification (cleared with ESF): Liventia will swap out for Ad’ihan. Ad’ihan will participate in WCoH8, not Liventia, despite Liventia's prior participation in WCoH4.
