Greater and Lesser Dalera United!
After years of constant wars between Greater and Lesser Dalera, culminating in Greater Dalera’s invasion of its southern-based neighbour during the last cold-season, Greater Dalera has triumphed over Lesser Dalera, forming the united nation of Dalera.
The final battle took place in the streets and roadways of the Lesser Daleran capital of Sekesh, where the Pharaohs of both nations met in hand to hand combat, with Pharaoh Garmin killing his opposite number with a studded mace of iron made by the Greater Daleran Military Contractors.
Despite their victory, the mood in the former Greater Dalera capital is a sombre one. In the final battle between forces of Greater and Lesser Dalera Garmin, Pharaoh of Greater Dalera, was killed by one of his own soldiers, an upstart noble’s son who was quickly dispatched by royal bodyguards. Garmin’s son, Pharaoh Meketre, had this to say:
“The family to which the murderous traitor belonged is also to blame. He was encouraged by his elders to seek out and kill His Royal Highness Pharaoh Garmin in order to attain the throne for himself. However, with his dispatch and the subsequent bankruptcy of his family, life goes on for the now united people of Dalera.”
The Royal Scribe reports:
“This was a triumph. I’m making a note here, huge success. It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction.”
All in all a successful day for the armies of Greater Dalera, however many residents of Lesser Daleran communities, with riots going on late into the night in rural areas, far from the central government zones.
