The World Bowl is where we get our fix of American Football (we usually call it gridiron on here to avoid confusion between the football Americans know as soccer), and welcome to that competition. We also have a thread, which is buried at the moment, for our domestic gridiron leagues. You could search for it if you want, but it's probably about to "bumped" pretty soon because I am close to finishing an update of my own league.
A real life season, in any sport, is something that is really not done here. Could it work? Probably, but you'd be asking a bunch of trained dogs in doing something one way to do something different and that's probably not going to work. We're used to doing things in "tournament" format. I don't see it working in gridiron as the concept of having a champions league was shot down a few months ago.
If you wanted to do something in regards to gridiron, I would suggest the champions league route, but not in a "16-game season" format. It would likely have to be scorinated in the same way the World Bowl is in order to get the regulars to participate.
