WorldVision 8 - Competition Thread
Nethertopia

The eighth instalment of the WorldVision is about to begin. Tonight, in Tenderville, for the eighth time in history the biggest song contest in the world is held. The whole city has had WorldVision fever and everybody has been preparing for this event for months, even though it wasn’t sure the contest would even make it to the OMEN stage.
But yet we are here. We have thirty countries at the ready with their own representative, playing their songs to win this competition. But let’s not forget the real theme behind this all, artists who’d do anything for a breakthrough! Since the disposal of world peace promotion and freedom of speech this contest is indeed all about entertainment and money.
We have seen 24 fantastic songs, and now it's time to vote!

Galaxianda

Put on my red suede shoes
And I drove down the lane
Broke down in the land of the Cowboy Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
C.W. Fandy -- won't you look down under me
Yeah I got a sec'n' class ticket
But I'm as blush as a boy can be
Then I'm walking in Dallas
Walking with my feet 50 miles off of Beale
Walking in Dallas
But do I really feel the way I feel
Saw the ghost of Father
On 31st Avenue
Followed him up to the li-bar-ary
Then I watched him walk right through
Now security they did not see him
They just hovered 'round 'bout noon
But there's a pretty little lad
Waiting for my dad
Down in the living room
(Chorus)
They've got catfish on the table
They've got gospel in the air
And Reverend Lean be glad to see you
When you haven't drunk some wine
But boy you'll drink some wine in Dallas
Liberace plays piano
Every Friday at the Bollywood
And they took me down the doorway
And they asked me if I would --
Do a little number
And I sang away all the night
And he said --
"Tell me are you a Jewish child?"
And I said "Sir, I was last night."
(Chorus)
Put on my red suede shoes
And I drove down the lane
Broke down in the land of the Cowboy Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
Broke down in the land of the Cowboy Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
(final piano piece)
Yeeeeaaaaah... In Dallas...
P.S. To avoid confusion, anything written in bold text is the chorus.

OOC: God damn you Galaxianda. Let us do a bit of pre-contest posts first.
Scianawski: And we're in it again! Even though we don't know why. It's WorldVision eight, and the second one we're covering. And we've 30 countries this year. Kind of makes you wonder why the last guys were complaining, they had it so easy.
Niewienski: So, what are we up against this time? Nazis? Lovisas? Drunken Llamas?
Scianawski: Well, no Lovisa, but Bazalonia is back, with a song about... clowns? Then there's bears singing about, well, bears, And a song that would go down better in WorldVision 1. Cafundeu is Cafundeu, Iglesian Archipelago is Iglesian Archipelago, and Rejistania is Rejistania. Typical WorldVision stuff really.
Niewienski: So, we don't have any chances then, knowing our usual fate. Though we might win like last time. Rejistania will get a high result, and the Wijaskans will do something stupid.
Scianawski: They've seemed rather quiet this year, actually.
Niewienski: I know... too quiet. It's like they're trying to hide something. It would be a first if they didn't.
Scianawski: Yeah, we've had songs about Vampires, 30 thousand songs at once, and a Singer who didn't want to sing. And that's what they think they'll win the contest with.
Niewienski: Knowing the quality of most WorldVision songs, they eventually might. Shitty pop-rock, bad parodies, singing animals, And how many people actually speak portuguese?

Well, we (as the countries in WorldVision) haven't really made a decision about this yet, we've had a similar issue a few contests back when Edward City posted a song called "Dancing in the Sunlight", which was basically just "Dancing in the Moonlight" with just one word changed. Many countries decided not to give any points, although they didn't get disqualified.

Kingsley Bedford
22-01-2009, 04:41
Kingsley Bedfords top female soloist, Katya Verbaijean walks on stage in as shocking feather gown. She looks more like a flamingo then a singer.
Katya: Good evening Nethertopia!
The song begins:
Maj Arj e cdijz, Maj Arj ma lous
Maj Arj e zame arj, zed maj arj
Maj Arj, Maj Arj, Maj Arj, Maj Arj, Maj Arj
[I]Maj Arj e castak, Maj arj e arj zint
Maj Arj e mezkukzjia, bok bok bok, e nye maj
Maj Arj, Maj Arj
MAJ ARJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(An applause from the crowd)
Katya: Thank you, Merci, Vote for Kingsley Bedford!
Translation:
You make me feel like a little girl, you make me feel like I'm in love
You make me feel just like you, oh how you make me feel
You make me feel, You make me feel, You make me feel, you make me feel , oh how you make me feel
You make me feel like a puppet, you make me do as you say
you make me feel like a dog bark bark barking away, it isn't how I should feel
You make me feel, you make me feel, you make me feel
You make me feel, you make me feel
YOU MAKE ME FEEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OOC: Is what Galaxianda does all-right? He just took Walking in Memphis and replaced some words...
(OOC: Parodies are allowed, and that's what it was.)
QBS @ WorldVision 8
"Hi, I'm Franken Beans and joining me to critique this World Vision is my partner, Tally Wacker. Tally, already some controversy, as the Galaxiandan entry came of the plane singing their entry. While getting an early start pays off for some, don't you think that Galaxianda is taking a risk by singing that early?"
"Well Franken, Most entrants at least wait until they get to the venue here in Tenderville, Nethertopia before they sing their entry."
"Tally, apparently, Galaxianda wasn't the only nation who decided to sing coming off the plane, as Kingsley Bedford sang on the bus on the way to the arena. So, after hearing two of the 30 seongs, what do you think, so far?"
"'Walking in Dallas' was a nice blues-ballad, and was very nicely sung, but it's not a World Vision winner. 'Maj Arj', by Katya Verbaijean was good, but some votes may be put off by having to read a translation of the song. Of the two, I'd give my vote to 'Maj Arj'.
"Well that's all fror now from World Vision 8. Qazox' entry is schedule to sing Saturday night, 'Brawling'', by Mack and the Johnsons is our entry. For QBS and Tally Wacker, I'm Franken Beans, goodnight."

“Hello, welcome and thank you for joining in on the Nethertopian Public Broadcasting Channel One! My name is Bob Houten, and sitting next to me is Wilbert Hoogte. We are here tonight at the OMEN stage, in Tenderville, our very own nation, for WorldVision 8.”
“It‘s nice to be here, Bob. People are still entering the building, and yet we‘ve seen two songs already! How about that?”
“It‘s rather weird indeed. Galaxiandra‘s entry was pretty nice, although not a lot of people have seen it. At least not on Nethertopian television, as we‘ve just started our broadcast.”
“Yup. We‘ll show the song at some point, when we have time, but it really had a familiar sound in my eyes.”
“That‘s what I was thinking as well. Anyway, after the Galaxandrian entry we went off to see another early performance, by Kingsley Bedford. It was short and we had to read a translation, but it was rather nice. No real hit potential, though.”
“I‘d agree on you. But look at the crowd! Slowly, the stadium fills and it‘s a sight to behold.”
“It looks like all the countries have their own crowd, but my my, the organisers haven‘t split them up. All nations are sitting with each other, and if I must say, the atmosphere is really amazing!”
“Yup. It really looks like everybody is relaxed tonight, ready to hear some awesome songs.”
“I know I am!”
“About the crowd, have we spotted some Nethertopian VIP‘s yet?”
“I‘ve seen Pieter van Delta, our PM somewhere and rumour has it that King Hendrik VI is in the building, with his wife and two sons.”
“I‘ve also seen Sam Wendell, the richest Nethertopian alive, and Andrés García, our world table tennis champion. I‘ve also seen the whole crew of the new movie Battles and Patriots, the movie about Nethertopia in our battle for independency.”
“Yes, we‘ve got a diverse crowd tonight. We‘ll be right back after the commercial break, don‘t leave us!”

Wijaska Island Performance - La la la, by Princess Laska
Next up, the Wisaskan entry, Swilatian singer Princess Laska walks up onto the stage. She is wearing typical school clothes, modified to be more revealing. Blue shirt for Wijaska Island.
I don't wanna talk
About we've already done
'Cause when I do it again
I'll never do it again
And when you do it again
You shouldn't say it again
'Cause when you say it again
It's like I said it again
And we both say it again
And we both do it again
I'm always left here singing
La, la, la
There's nothing left to sing but
La, la, la
That's why we're always singing
La, la, la
That's why we're always singing
La, la, la
I don't want to look
About what's still going on
'cause when I see it again
I'll never come here again
And when I come here again
I'm still here asking again
'Cause when you say it again
It's like I said it again
And we both say it again
And we both do it again
I'm always left here singing
La, la, la
There's nothing left to sing but
La, la, la
That's why we're always singing
La, la, la
That's why we're always singing
La, la, la
I don't want to ask
About I already know
'Cause when it happens again
And I won't be here again
'Cause when I come here again
I just might say it again
'Cause when you say it again
It's like I said it again
And we both say it again
And we both do it again
I'm always left here singing
La, la, la
There's nothing left to sing but
La, la, la
That's why we're always singing
La, la, la
That's why we're always singing
La, la, la
That's why we're always singing
La, la, la
That's why we're always singing
La, la, la

Scianawski: Okay, so we've started the first three songs... right after coming off the plane, Galaxianda's own Elvis impersonator Quentin Impero sung a song. We missed it, but it was about... Dallas?
Niewienski: I've never heard of it either, it must be a place in Galaxianda. Or it might be something the singer dreamed up himself. Is there any real place where you can see ghosts at the library?
Scianawski: Is there any real place where any-one would bother going to a library?
Niewienski: Well, Libraries in Vilvek have internet. Then again, any place in Vilvek has internet. And then, we have Kingsley Bedford, With the singing flamingo.
Scianawski: ...Maj Arj e cdijz, Maj Arj ma lous? I don't even know what language that is.
Niewienski: Neither am I, I don't even have an intelligent guess, and the last time we tried guessing what language a country was singing in they complaned about it.
Scianawski: IT'S NOT SPANISH IT'S PORTUGUESE!!!
Niewienski: Yeah, I almost feel like saying "Spanish" again, just to see what they would say.
Scianawski: No, we should wait until their song to do that. We're not even at the point to look at what's to go, there's still Wijaska's entry.
Niewienski: Well, it's not really much to talk about. It's just a piosenka dropout in her school clothes, singing an average crappy pop song. Not really much for a country that would always do something really stupid at WorldVision.
Scianawski: Well, who said the song would be their stupid thing. We're only 3 songs in, up to 27 to go, They still have plenty of time to screw something up.
Niewienski: So, that means, 30 songs? I'm not sure we can go through all this. What's still to go?
Scianawski: Well, we still have more Foreign language songs, there has to be at least one wannabe rockstar or rock band. I think we're sending one actually this time. And all sorts of strange musical styles that we'll just have to see later.

IGLESIAN ARCHIPELAGO's presentation for the WORLDVISION 8:
"PALÁCIO DOS ENCANTOS", by Carlos Pompeia
===========================================================================================
Portuguese-language lyrics:
Olho no que eu vejo
Mais do que um encanto
Hora do sentimento
Hora de eu partir
Se iluminar
Sempre a encantar
Só no que eu vejo
Posso fazer tudo
Palácio dos Encantos
Posso fazer alguma coisa
P'ra eu ver
Se faço algo bonito
Hora à hora
Passo a passo
Minuto a minuto
Segundo a segundo
Olhas no que tu vês
Mais do que um encanto
Hora do sentimento
Hora de tu partires
Palácio dos Encantos
Vou aos recantos
Encanto ou fealdade
Nada me faz assustar
TRANSLATION (not to be sung!)
I look on what I see
More than a charm
Time of feeling
Time for me to depart
If light on
When the charm
Only in that I see
I can do everything
Enchanting palace
Can I do something
To see
If I do something beautiful
Time by time
Step by step
Minute by minute
Second by second
You look what you see
More than a charm
Time of feeling
Time for you left
Enchanting palace
I the corners
Charm or ugliness
Nothing makes me scared

"Ladies and gentlemen, good evening. This is Veejay Thumberg reporting live, as you can see, from the magnificent OMEN stage in Nethertopia. In the last two days, I've had a chance to tour Tenderville, the modern metropolis, and I must tell you there's no better place for WorldVision number eight.
"We began our programming tonight with several international acts. I'm not sure how many, but there they were. OK, I'm being told there were five acts so far. Let's review."
(Video segment of "Walkin' in Dallas," by Quentin Impero)
"First we had Quentin Impero performing "Walkin' in Dallas." Isn't he something? We were all thinking it, but Quentin is the one who said it. Incidentially, I've been to Dallas, and it's best to stay at minimum 50 feet away from Beale, indeed."
(Video segment of "Maj Arj," by Katya Verbaijean)
"Next, we saw the lovely Katya Verbaijen in an outfit that I would not be able to enjoy in person due to severe allergies. This is a song that will definitely be stuck in my head. Yes, yes, it's still there. I'm being told that "maj arj" translates to "you may feel me." Indeed!"
(Video segment of "La la la," by Princess Laska)
"In the next performance, we were treated to music royalty, as Princess LaLaLa sang "Laska." Beg your pardon, that was Princess Laska performing "La la la." And what a classic reflection on post-coital remorse."
(Video segment of "Palacio dos Encantos", by Carlos Pompeia)
"Next, Carlos Pompeia wowed us with "Palacio do Encantos," in what I'm told was Portugeuse. My Portugeuse is rusty from disuse, but I believe Carlos was singing about two enchanted places. Or palaces. Two enchanted palaces. Bravo!"
(Video segment of "Poesia, Querida Poesia" by Gabriel Maia)
"Keeping with the Portugeuse, we had Gabriel Maia singing "Poesia, Querida Poesia." As you can tell, this was a desperate cry for the literary arts as Gabriel crooned "we want poetry." Give this man a Norton anthology!
"And that was a review of the acts we've seen thus far. Let's go back to the stage for our next live performance."
QBS @ WorldVision 8
"Hi, I'm Franken Beans and joining me to critique this World Vision is my partner, Tally Wacker. Tally, three more entries have sung thier songs, so let's get started with La la la by Princess Laska of Wijaska Island. "
"Well Franken, as you know I'm into Pop, and This song, was great, nice and catchy and the beat says in your head. While the type of song and lyrics might not be everyone's cup of tea, the beat may just stick in enough people's head's to win."
"On to the second Portuguese song of the contect so, far, Palacio dos Encantos, by Carlos Pompeia of Iglesian Archipelago. The song translates as Palace of Enchantmet, unless my Portuguese is rusty. So, Tally, what's your verdict?"
"This is the type of song that usually wins a WorldVision contest, but since there have been many songs like this win over the past few contests, and that may be a strike against them. Overall, this is my early vote for #1 song."
"And the 5th entry, and the 3rd Portuguese song of the contest, Poesia, Querida Poesia by Gabriel Maia of Seven Castles. Poetry, dear poetry, as I believe the lyics say in English, I think was the best of the 5 sung so far. A haunting melody and beautiful lyrics. I'm going out on a limb and saying that this song will finish in the top 5, Tally your thought?"
"Franken, I agree with you, I don't think the lyrics are stong enough to win a World Vision, but this is definately will one of the best 5 songs. So far here is my current top 5:
Palacio dos Encantos (by Carlos Pompeia)
Poesia, Querida Poesia (by Gabriel Maia)
Walkin' in Dallas (by Quentin Impero)
La la la (by Princess Laska)
Maj Arj (by Katya Verbaijean)
"Well that's all fror now from World Vision 8 from the OMEN theater, in Tenderville, Nethertopia. For QBS and Tally Wacker, I'm Franken Beans, goodnight."

"Hello, we are live from Nethertopia for WorldVision 8. This is Curt Ward for TVMN, and we are preparing for the first act to take the stage here at the OMEN. I'm pleased to preside over what looks to be a fantastic competition. Let's go now to the live coverage, as the representative from Galaxianda is about to perform.
"Joining me for this broadcast is the director of A&R for Permanent Records, Gordon Creske."
Galaxianda: "Walkin' in Dallas," by Quentin Impero
Curt Ward: "What a great performance by Quentin Impero. He made a strong start and seemed to get the crowd involved."
Gordon Creske: "Yes, Curt, some response from the crowd, perhaps because he's the first act."
CW: "Something about this song seemed familiar, wouldn't you agree?"
GC: "I'm afraid so. I believe Quentin was aiming at an homage or parody, but instead delivered a lukewarm knockoff."
CW: "OK, it looks like the next performer is about to take stage."
Kingsley Bedford: "Maj Arj," by Katya Verbaijean
CW: "Fantastic performance by Katya Verbajean, singing 'Maj Arj' in the Kingfordian language."
GC: "I'm far from fluent in Kingfordian, Curt, but that was fabulous."
CW: "What would it take to market this song in Haustreland?"
GC: "It's very good--catchy tune, memorable lyrics--but we'll have to do something about that dreadful 'bark bark bark' section."
CW: "Expert advice from a renowned record producer. Let's return to the stage for our next performance."
Wijaska Island: "La la la," by Princess Laska
CW:"Great job by Princess Laska with 'La la la.'"
GC;"Yes, great job, nice tune, good performance."
CW: "What's the secret to a successful pop song, Gordon?"
GC:"Repetition can help or hurt a song. I've never heard the word 'again' so many times. It's a bit much."
CW:"All right, let's go back to the OMEN stage for the next performer."
Iglesian Archipelago: "Palacio dos Encantos", by Carlos Pompeia
CW: "Carlos Pompeia poured some soul into that one, 'Palacio dos Encantos.'"
GC: "Exactly, Curt. His intense focus made that performance a success.
CW: "A very haunting melody, wouldn't you say?"
GC: "Yes, very haunting. The language and atmosphere really suited this song."
CW: "And now back to the stage for the next performance."
Seven Castles: "Poesia, Querida Poesia" by Gabriel Maia
CW: "And a beautiful performance by Gabriel Maia on 'Poesia, Querida Poesia.'"
GC: "Beautiful but a little perdictable."
CW: "The subject of this song is poetry. Do you think it fit, Gordon?"
GC: "Yes, the song is about poetry, but did it have to be a ballad? I would have liked to hear this song with more energy and longer melodic lines. Bring some surprise to the performance."
CW:"OK, the first five acts of WorldVision 8 have performed. We'll be right back after these words from our commercial partners."

The broadcaster of Kingsley Bedford:
Commentators for the evening:
Elena Mirekova (TV Presenter)
Georgi Turskchenko (Katya Verbaijean's Manager)
Mirekova: So Georgi, it sure is exciting to see Kingsley Bedford debuting at WorldVision tonight.
Turskchenko: Yes Elena, Katya has already performed and I must say I was disapointed with her choice of costume. Of course, I don't sound very patriotic but it is in entirity, the truth. Not to mention we were in the dreaded 2nd song in the draw.
Mirekova: Enough about us, lets talk about the other entries we've already seen tonight
Mirekova: What about Quentin Impero?
Turskchenko: Well, it isn't a hit, but it might be a top 10 placing. I personally like the entry, but I'm unsure if the viewers at home will.
Turskchenko: Elena, what about Wijaska Island?
Mirekova: Typical WorldVision song, and I must admit, the revealing school uniform may cause a trend. And the song is catchy, I would vote for it.
Turskchenko: Seven Castles was nice, Portugese is sure a beautiful language.
Mirekova: oops!, commercial time! We'll be back soon.

WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST 8
IGTV1/IGTV Internacional
Jorge Barros: Hello everyone in the Iglesian Archipelago and in the World, to watch WorldVision Song Contest 8!
Rita Fernandes: We are in Nethertopia, on the OMEN Stage in Tenderville.
JB: So, what do you think of Galaxianda?
RF: Yeah, it's well sung, but preety well sung, and it should be gave points for this song, in my opinion. And what do you think of Kingsley Bedford's entry, "Maj Arj"?
JB: Wow, an invented language looks (and sounds) well... I think also it's well sung...
RF: And the Wijaskan entry "La la la", by Princess Laska? It's good also, isn't it?
JB: Yes, of course, very well sung, and it needs some pontuation in my opinion... And now, what about Seven Castles on "Poesia, Querida Poesia"?
RF: Wow, that enchants me! It's well sung and it has beautiful lyrics.
JB: Yeah, I must really agree with you.
JB: So, more twenty-one songs... this is the WorldVision Song Contest 8.
Both: See you later!!!

John Dole: ”Hello Future-World and welcome to the 8th installation of everyone’s favourite competition, WorldVision!”
Eddie McAllen: “Yes and this is Eddie McAllen and John Dole, Future-Worlds official commentators, officially reporting live from Tenderville, Nethertopia”
John: “I thought I told you to cut the ‘official’ crap!”
Eddie: “…And this is indeed a very official evening, since today we have brought the most official person in the nation, say welcome to President Simon H. Goodyear!”
Simon: “It’s nice to be here, greetings to all Futurians at home!”
Eddie: “Official words, from an official person”
Simon: “Please, cut the ‘official’ crap Mr. McAllen”
John: ”Thank you for that Mr. President. Now, I was wondering if you could answer some questions?”
Simon: “Always ready, John”
John: “WorldVision 5 really brought great popularity to your predecessor, President Ross, how come
Future-World skipped WorldVision 6 and 7?”
Simon: “Well John, a great man must always take the responsibility for his mistakes. That is why I practically chained myself to my cultural minister, to make sure he did not forget to register us for this year’s competition”
Eddie: “I hope you chained to his left arm, otherwise it must’ve been hard for him to do his work”
Simon: “Hmm… exactly how did Mr. McAllen manage to be one of our official commentators?”
Eddie: “I am one of the most popular hosts on Futurian TV, you know that show, Rise and shine with
Eddie McAllen?”
Simon: “That kids show?”
Eddie: “…it’s for all ages”
John: “Well, thank you for the honest answer Mr. President”
Simon: “Please call me Simon”
John: “Very well, should we focus on the competition then. First song was from Galaxandia, that started a little early didn’t they?”
Eddie: “Yes, not very nice at all, but at least the song was kind of good, nice bluesey stuff”
Simon: “Although, very familiar…”
John: “It didn’t really make sense, not that sense really is needed in a good song. Never heard of a place called ‘Dallas’ though. Silly name”
Simon: “I’m pretty sure I’ve heard it before, just can’t put my finger on it…”
John: “Next up is Kingsley Bedford with ‘Marj Arj’”
Eddie: “Is it now I’m not supposed to say ‘Spanish’?
John: “No, this wasn’t in Portuguese. I thought the entire ‘singing animal’ thing had been abandoned after all those donkeys”
Simon: “No, I don’t think it was supposed to be a flamingo. It was Kingsley Bedfordian soloist Katya Verbaijean.”
John: “Following her rather pointless song, that seemed to be even more pointless when translated, came Wijaska Island”
Eddie: “My personal favourite so far”
Simon: “Somehow, I’m not surprised that ‘la, la, la’ would be something for you”
John: “Another pointless song. Enough said”
Simon: “Normally I would try to say something positive, only to sound a little diplomatic you know, but…”
John: “After Wijaska came two entries sung in…”
Eddie: “Not-Spanish!”
John: “…Portuguese yes, Iglesian Archipelago’s Palácio dos encantos”
Simon: “After reading the lyrics it definitely gave me a psychedelic feeling”
Eddie: “Make-up languages are always funny to listen to!”
John: “…I sincerely hope that no one heard that. After Iglesia came “Poesia, querida poesia”, the entry from Seven Castle’s”
Simon: “A song about poetry… beautiful theme, the song however…”
Eddie: “I really liked it”
John: “No surprises there then. I would like to finish with asking President Goodyear of his thoughts about our entry”
Simon: “Well, I would like to say that our entry should have a decent chance. After all, we did win WV5, even though this song is not quite the same. My thoughts are with the Spoons wherever they are”
John: “…what do you mean wherever they are?”
Simon: “Well, they didn’t turn up in their private hovercraft when it arrived”
John: “Oh no, not like last time. Why can’t Futurian artists ever get onboard a hovercraft with problems!”
Simon: “Do not forget now, that the Spoons do these kind of things all the times, just for their amusements sake. They’ll probably jump out of your luggage or something like that”
John: “Well, anything would be better than sitting here and listening to the remaining 24 songs”
Eddie: “We will return shortly, so stay tuned on F-TV 1!”
Simon: “I can barely wait”

Lyrics to Sunnydale Rock: As performed in WorldVision 8
(BOLD:Chorus)
When I wake up
And I see the dark
I think to my self
What a day it would be
if I was in Sunnydale
The City of Sun
Oh
its the city of your dreams
Sunnydale, is the place
where i lost it
to some gal
who is so bright
Sunnydale's the place
ooh yea
Sunnydale's the town
(AWSOME GUITAR SOLO)
(Chorus)
Why you ask about this place
I wonder
but what the hell it dosent matter, cuz it's
Sunnydale
(Background)
Hot girls,
Bright Lights,
Jumpin Parties
Come Here, it begs
(Chorus)
SUNNY-FUC*IN-DALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*crowd applauds"
QBS @ WorldVision 8
"Hi, I'm Franken Beans and joining me to critique is Tally Wacker, who will do so after this song. And now the moment Qazox has waited for... 'Brawling'', by Mack and the Johnsons! Be warned, these lyrics are not child-friendly."
<The stage is lit dark, then a spotlight shines on the drummer, who lays down a steady fast beat. After 30 seconds two more spotlights shine upon the lead and bas guitar players, who continue the beat. After another 30 seconds, the drumming suddenly gets faster and the guitars begin to wail, as the 4th spotlight shines on Mack, the lead singer, begins...>
(Chorus in Bold, Verses in italics)
I'm brawling............
I'm brawling............
I'm itching for a fight
and I'll get one tonight,
I'm brawling............
Tonight there's gonna be a fight.
Lots of blood will be shed, that's right!
Dude, you pissed the wrong guy off,
Lots of blood and teeth you'll cough!
You take a swing and you missed,
you stupid fuck, now I'm pissed.
I kicked you right in the head,
now you wish that you were dead!
I'm brawling............
I'm brawling............
I'm itching for a fight
and I'll get one tonight,
I'm brawling............
You trip and stagger back,
and I press forward the attack.
I bang your head against the wall,
and then to the ground you fall.
You find a brick, and take a swipe,
then I hit your head with a lead pipe!
You land in heap, and try to crawl,
I start beating you against the wall!
You spit and you bleed
and you beg and you plead!
I'm brawling............
I'm brawling............
I'm itching for a fight
and I'll get one tonight,
I'm brawling............
I leave you there
propped up against a stair,
as you wait for help
and you cry and whelp.
No one is coming to help you, you know,
No one else was here to see the show.
Now you know know the ultimate price,
as you think about your wasted life.
If you hadn't killed my wife and my kid,
I wouldn't have to do what I just did!
<Lead Guitar Solo for 40 seconds>
Now I stand over your grave,
What I did, I'm not ashamed.
You fucked with the wrong guy,
and if you do, then you'll die.
You picked the wrong night to brawl,
and now you've lost it all.
Now that I had my release,
maybe now I'll find peace.
I avenged my kid and wife,
all it cost me was a dead low life.
QBS @ WorldVision 8
"Hi, I'm Franken Beans and joining me to critique is Tally Wacker. Wow, that's all I have to say Tally."
"That was great! A hard-rock tribute to the night the lead singer killed his wife and kid's killer! Only a true talent like Mack could pull something like that off and the crowd here at WorldVision is going nuts!"
"Tally, my only question is, Is this the type fo song that can win a World Vision contest?"
"It's emotional, has great lyrics and it's memorable, It has a chance!"
"Well just before Mack and the Johnsons was the Lurikastan entry: Sunnydale Rock sung by Fredrick Albertson and the Sexy Shoremen. I thought it was an underwhelming performance, your thoughts, Tally?"
"Fraken, It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I don't think it was avery good effort, but who knows, maybe the lyrics, which were good, will carry it through."
"Well that's all fror now from World Vision 8 from the OMEN theater, in Tenderville, Nethertopia. For QBS and Tally Wacker, I'm Franken Beans, goodnight."

SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage
Niewienski: And we've just had three more more songs right now. Two songs in Spanish sorry, portuguese, as if one wasn't enough, and Lurikastan.
Scianawski: IT'S NOT SPANISH IT'S PORTUGUESE!!!
Niewienski: No, that one's starting to get old. We're in WorldVision 8 now.
Scianawski: Yeah, but so is them singing in Portuguese. We can't tell what the song is about. They did the same last year!
Niewienski: Well, last year, they performed an Engrish translation as well, so we got some. This time we're completely in the dark. No translations or anything. All I have is babelfish and "Come Live the Nature".
Scianawski: An English Version would be good, but knowing what we saw last year, it won't be any more Coherent then the Spanish version.
Niewienski: Next up we had Seven Castles, mostly the same shit really. Why do they insist on their language so much.
Scianawski: Well, They just can't write in English to save their lives. We've had an attempt at a song in English last year, that didn't go down to well. And look at some of the translations they had this year. It's quite a relief they weren't sung, 'cause that would have meant 16 minutes of Iglesian Archipelago.
Niewienski: And, finally, there's Lurikastan, Sunny-fuckin'-dale rock.
Scianawski: Mostly a typical pop-rock song. No chances to win, not too much to make fun of. Mostly just another tourist video. Come to Sunnydale, we have Parties, Lights, and Girls. And you're the only place to do that?
Niewienski: Yeah, city of dreams, because I'm not sure if it exists. Sunny-fuckin'-dale. Great slogan, really. I'm not sure, who here wants to go there.
Scianawski: Well, I'm sure that will be revealed in the voting part of the contest. If we haven't killed ourselves off yet. What's in the next 20 songs?
(Qazox is not covered here because I started writing before they posted)

KBBS COVERAGE OF WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST 8:
Elena Mirekova: And, we're back live on KBBS with our live coverage of the 8th WorldVision song contest which is taking place in Tenderville, Nethertopia.
Georgi Turskchenko: We sure are Elena, and we now have some more songs coming up. The first is from Lurikastan.
Elena: Well, Sunnydale Rock was nothing special, but mediocre songs are often popular with the voters. And at least their singer wasn't dressed like a flamingo.
Georgi: Once again, I defend my choice of costume for Katya to wear.
Elena: Whatever, let's move onto the fantastic performance by Mack and the Johnsons, representing Qazox.
Georgi: Yes, well I thought it was the best performance we've seen tonight. The lyrics were powerful and really got the crowd going.
Elena: Well, we will be back after these messages.

John: "Welcome back good people, this is John Dole and Eddie McAllen reporting live from Tenderville and WorldVision 8. With us is president Simon Goodyear"
Simon: "Thank you John, it's great to be here"
John: "Well we have two new songs to report about, first out was Frederick Albertson and the Sexy Shoremen with 'Sunnydale rock'"
Simon: "Sounded like a campaign tune from the local tourist office to me"
John: "Another flat pop-rock song indeed, no high scores for Lurikastan should be expected. Going on, Qazox entry was Brawling with Mack and the Johnsons. And I must say that the lyrics left a lot to wish for"
Simon: "Very repetitive you mean? Yes I thought so too. At least he didn't kill the man on stage, now that would have enraged the 'think-of-the-kiddies' mobs"
John: "And either way it was probably the best song this far, not that that's saying something"
Simon: "Oh by the way John, where is Mr. McAllen?"
John: "What? Oh yes, I sent him out to interview some regular people around the town, you know see their opinions of the entire competition"
Simon: "Well I hope it turns out all right then"
John: "He forgot the camera"
Simon: "He... did what?"
John: "Yes folks, stay tuned for more WorldVision!"

Valeneska Performance: A Distant Light, by Starwide
We're on the street again, another time
Not even thinking of the days passed by
Trapped in another time, not asking why
We never stopped and watch it fall apart
Why are we waiting here for end of time
Illusions all around, there is no time
And as the world fall by in distant light
It will be better soon, but no it won't.
Lights from a distant time come crashing by
But when the world lights up, the final night
So would you try again, in the end?
Is there a distant light, in the end?
Wait for another chance, day after day
But will it ever come, in any way?
Where did we stand last night, where did we stay
We're standing at the edge, right here today
And on this final night, this final time
And everything is done, on every night
So would you try again, in the end?
Is there a distant light, in the end?

The performance of Rosanne, by Pagans With Hats and the Royal DePardenti Orchestra
The lights in the theatre fade once again, and a single spotlight is pointed towards the stage. Only one man, dressed in a suit, and a young woman in a long, dark green dress are visable. The man is holding an acoustic guitar and the woman a violin. They start to play together, and after the intro the man starts to sing to both the audience and the woman.
Memories
In my mind
From another space
And time
A rose, a glass, a gun
Fights, music and the shining sun
More spotlights are pointed towards the stage, to show the whole orchestra and the rest of the band behind the duo. Slowly, all the musicians start to play their instruments, and the chorus is played.
Rosanne
You chose the other man
Can’t deny
I love you
But you had your own plan
You chose him
I can’t blame you
I went away
That’s nothing but the truth
A rose, a glass, a gun
Fights, music and the shining sun
Rosanne
You chose the other man
Can’t deny
I love you
Just because I still can
And I will wait
My whole life long
And I will keep singing
My story in this song
A rose, a glass, a gun
Fights, music and the shining sun
Rosanne
You chose the other man
Can’t deny
I love you
But you had your own plan
The orchestra builds down, and only the members of the band are now playing, together with the woman. They then start playing the bridge.
I will stay in the front line
Keep fighting for you
These feelings are too good
To not be true
One life, one love, one kiss
I will always love you
You are the one thing
That I miss
After the last words are spoken the band also stops playing. Suddenly, when all the music has stopped, the woman steps forward and starts to sing a cappella.
Why won’t you stay for a while
Because ev’rything is so fragile
I realise the mistake I made
You and me together, it’s our fate
Then the whole orchestra and the band start playing for one last chorus, before the outro.
Rosanne
You didn’t chose the other man
Can’t deny
You love me
Now I can tell the whole world
Just how happy I am

SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage
Niewienski: So, okay, another 3 songs. First, we had Qazox, Mack and the Johnsons, Brawling. And it's strange that Kura-Pelland and Wavispa aren't complaining about it yet.
Scianawski: We would the Wavispians complain? It would make a great themesong for their commentary team, if you could call it that.
Niewienksi: What about Kura-Pelland? They've been a "think of the children" country on many cases... Biało Niebieskie wouldn't be able to have all those lights if the contest was held there...
Scianawski: Yeah, but then another 11th place might finally get them to leave us alone! But no, we haven't heard from them so far... even if they're participating.
Niewienski: Kura-Pelland aren't participating? That's a relief.
Scianawski: No, they might, they can still come in as the contese is going...
Niewienski: So that means still 21 songs... There was also Valeneska, Starwide, A Distant Light.
Scianawski: Yeah, I didn't quite get that one, and what they we're singing about... Black and White, part deux, Now with even less sense? Who knows, Word might have been part of that group.
Niewienski: Ne, he wasn't. I didn't hear a single "yee" in all of this. That doesn't mean the song will make sense though... I might be about the end of something... like the world, or this contest, whichever comes first. And it's also about time, but then it's not about time, because it talks so much and then tells us it's an illusion. And there's something in there about light as well, like there's light at the end of the world in the illusion of time. Did any of that make sense?
Scianawski: Not even a little.
Niewienski: Well, I guess you have the best explaination of the Valeneska entry. It makes no sense. Maybe Terreiro de Ogum or the Holy Empire might get it.
Scianawski: Finally, Nethertopia, Another stupid Love Song.
Niewiesnki: Finally? The contest isn't over yet.
Scianawski: Well, at least we're like a third of the way through...
Niewienski: At least...

SCBC1 coverage of WSC8
Mário Lopes: Hello everyone in Seven Castles, welcome to the WorldVision!
Ana Barreiro: We are here today in the OMEN stage, in Tenderville, Nethertopia.
ML: So, what do you think about the Galaxiandan song, "Walkin' in Dallas", by Quentin Impero?
AB: Quentin Empero would make a better story, to start. And then, it's too long! The Iglesian song, "Palácio dos Encantos", by Carlos Pompeia...
ML: I love the song, it has extremely beautiful lyrics. In my opinion, I would give a great number of points to the archipelago...
AB: I agree with you. I think there will be not song that's better.
ML: Kingsley Bedford's entry, "Maj Arj", by Kayta Verbaijean, has also a funny song, hasn't it?
AB: Yes, invented languages is a new culture for me. That's good.
ML: The Lurikastan entry, "Sunnydale Rock"... HEY! Why at the end it has a strong word?!? If this, I hate it!
AB: OH NO! This is NOT a new culture for me, and that's not good!
ML: Undoubtfully I wouldn't give any point to this country, in my opinion... there are better songs.
AB: Qazian entry, "Brawling", by Mack and the Johnsons, it sounds even better than Lurikastan's...
ML: I agree. And Valeneska?
AB: "A Distant Light" sounds good for our era. The environment is what we should more talk...
ML: Valeneska has, along with Iglesian Archipelago's, has one of the best songs of the contest, I think...
AB: For Wijaska Island, we have Princess Laska, singing "La la la"... it sounds also good, isn't it?
ML: Yes, and I think she is pretty beautiful.
AB: We have more 18 songs... see you later. Stay tuned on SCBC1 nationwide and SCBC Internacional worldwide.

"Hello, welcome back to TVMN's live coverage of WorldVision 8. I'm Curt Ward. With me is Gordon Creske, director of A&R for Permanent Records. Let's get back to the stage for the next performance."
Lurikastan: "Sunnydale Rock" by Fredrick Albertson and the Sexy Shoremen.
Curt Ward: "That was a fun performance of 'Sunnydale Rock' by Frederick Alberson."
Gordon Creske: "I'm sorry, that was simply terrible. If Sunnydale is the place where this guy 'lost it to some gal,' then I'll glady stay away."
CW: "Gordon, tell us about the commercial appeal of this song."
GC: "There's very little. It showed promise at the start, but quickly turned into a college party nightmare. Aside from a quite catchy chorus, there's nothing here."
CW: "Let's return to the stage for our next performance."
Qazox: "Brawling" by Mack and the Johnsons
CW: "A thumping performance from Mack and the Johnsons of their song, 'Brawling.'"
GC: "It started great, with the right kind of sound for the subject matter. But then it took a turn for the worse..."
CW: "How do you mean?"
GC: "They didn't have to introduce the wife and kids. Honestly, a song about a beating can work. Leave it as a bar fight song and it's a winner."
CW: "All right, let's go back to the OMEN stage for the next performer."
Valeneska: "A Distant Light" by Starwide
CW: "That was Starwide with their emotional performance of 'A Distant Light.'
GC: "I thought it would be better soon, but no, it wasn't."
CW: "What would it take to bring this song to the top, Gordon?"
GC: "It needs a chorus. It needs a break from the same style into something different."
CW: "And now back to the stage for the next performance."
Nethertopia: "Rosanne" by Pagans With Hats
CW: "A wonderful performance by Pagans with Hats on 'Rosanne.'"
GC: "Yes, Curt, but too over the top. It felt like a grammar school musical. Very wishy-washy."
CW: "You have to admit it was a grand production."
GC: "And yet it was all a bit underwhelming. They're the home act on a familiar stage, with an orchestra no less, and yet they have failed to draw a response from the crowd."
CW: "OK, nine acts have performed at WorldVision 8. We'll be right back after these words from our commercial partners.""

John: "Welcome back to Future-TV, live from Nethertopia. With me is president Simon Goodyear"
Simon: "Actually John, I think I need to take some contact with the home front, I'll return shortly"
John: "Fair enough, good luck Mr. President"
Simon: "Thank you"
John: "Well, that means you are going to have listen to me alone, as it seems Eddie still hasn't found out he has no camera with him. Very well, firstly Valenska..
----
Meanwhile President Goodyear entered his suite. He hung his jacket on a chair and walked up to the trunk where he kept his clothes. Suddenly three men jumped out of the trunk while shouting "Gotcha!" Simon fell backwards screaming, before realising that these men where in fact Dale, Yvin and Zeeth of the Spoons.
Zeeth: "Told ya we'd surprise him"
Dale: "Yeah, yeah I owe you a TV"
Zeeth: "Sweet, three is not enough"
Dale: "My wife's gonna kill me..."
Simon: "Exactly how long have you been hiding in my luggage?
Zeeth: "Dunno, a couple of days perhaps"
Simon: "Why... oh never mind, you're at least here on time"
Yvin: "We couldn't let the fans down, now could we"
Dale: "Hey, wait a minute, where's Kolt?"
Suddenly the voices of women screeching could be heard. Moments later the door flew open and the band drummer Kolt arrived with a bra on top of his head.
Zeeth: "There ya are, what took you so long?"
Kolt: "took the wrong bloody bag. Ended up with Goodyears secretary"
Yvin: "He he, how did she take it?"
Kolt: "She gave me her number"
Zeeth: "Still got it eh? Now let's go. Our instruments should be in our suite"
Simon: "Uh, Kolt, you've got, uh, a, uh on you're head"
Kolt: "Wha? Oh that, it's my girl friends, I always bring it for luck"
Simon: "You're not gonna wear it are you?
Kolt: "Nah, I stuff it in the bass drum"
Simon: "Oh good.. eh... carry on then"
Zeeth: "See ya later Mr. Press"
The band ran out and went to their suite. The President sat down in his chair and wondered, not for the first time, why he wanted this job in the first place. And as always he reached the conclusion:
Simon: "Because I love it! Holophone, give me the cultural minister"

He also tried to put his song in a brighter daylight with a puppet state that wasn't in this competition. This isn't illegal as far as I know, but following the rules concerning the songs he indeed sent in a song that he 'made up' before the competition. But is it reason enough to kick him?

It was now time for the Bazalonian Entry... Irrational Fear had the stage or their song Send up the clowns.
The lights were off, and they were on the stage the drum counted in 3 beats and suddenly everything was going off.
Lights of various colours flashed as the music blurted out, the music was heavy and loud. Vocals started but where very distorted and where hard to understand. Only people used to the Bazalonian Heavy Music scene could have any idea what the words were though luckily the words were displayed on the large screen behind them.
"Clowns, Clowns."
"Oh, how clowns should die"
"Idiotic Jokes"
"Scary as all ****"
"Clowns are just wrong"
[chorus]
So Send up the clowns
Send them to meet their match
Show them why we don't find them funny
"Circus Clowns"
"They should be in the zoo"
"Stupid tricks"
"The bucket has 'fetti"
[chorus]
Clowns shall die
Clowns shall die
Clowns shall...
die.

Georgi Turskchenko: And once again welcome back to the WorldVision 8 contest in Tenderville, Nethertopia.
Elena Mirekova: And the next song we're about to hear is from the nation Bazalonia.
*Entry is performed*
Georgi: Well Elena, what did you think of that entry.
Elena: Well, I must admit I couldn't understand a word of it because all I heard was distorted bass.
Georgi: Even with the words flashed on screen?
Elena: Yes, as to me the vocals need to be heard, not shown on the screen.
Georgi: Do you think it is a potential favourite
Elena: I think people who like hearing distorted sounds may vote and maybe some heavy metal fans may vote as well. If it does win I guess it could be seen as the underdog of this years contest.
Georgi: I'm sure the fans at home are anxiously waiting to hear the result, so keep those entries pouring in so that we can pick up our telephones.

The stage is dark.
Suddenly, the lights come on, and two men with the stupidly over-built physiques of professional body builders can be seen standing in front of a drummer.
The stage and rather elaborate drum kit are entirely black.
The band are dressed entirely in black, except that the lead singer and bassist has a large electric blue codpiece, the guitarist has a large neon orange codpiece, and the drummer is wearing a lime green codpiece.
Inexplicably, each of the three are wearing massive - and rather magnificent - moose antler headpieces on top of their perfectly-dressed curly blonde locks. The lead singer starts shouting very loudly.
"HELLO NETHERTOPIA!!!!!!!! WE ARE ₮hünderhaɱɱeƦ!!!!!
I AM ODIN - THIS IS THOR, AND ON DRUMS, I BRING YOU... BOB!!!!!
ARE YOU READY TO..... ROCK?"
<mild cheers>
"I can't hear you! I said.... ARE YOU READY TO ROCK??????"
<louder cheers>
"YEAH! LET'S GET RRRRRROCKING!!!!!!"
<Complex drum rolls start. The bassist and guitarist start pumping their fists in the air while chanting...>
Hoo-ha
Hoo-hoo-ha
Hoo-ha
Hoo-hoo ha
Hoo-ha
Hoo-hoo-ha
Hoo-ha
Hoo-hoo ha
<on the third set of hoo-has, they stop pumping their fists, and start playing staccato bursts of loud crunchy guitar before churning into the song proper....>
Is this the age of the WARRIOR?
Is this the time of the end?
Goblins and spirits awakening!
Who knows what nightmares they send?
Cities of flame and fire by night
(Will you surrender? Will you surrender?)
Blackness and terror and fear are in sight
(Will you surrender? Will you surrender?)
This is the age of the WARRIOR!
This is the time of the end!
The face of the sphinx holds all mysteries
But is he now real or pretend?
Cities of flame and fire by night
(You will surrender. You will surrender)
Blackness and terror and fear are in sight
(You will surrender. You will surrender)
The warrior holds the key
But is he you or is he me?
Is he blind or will he see?
Is he myth or is he real?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
AWESOME GUITAR SOLO!
<needlessly elaborate and complex guitar solo follows - yes, the guitar is wielded throughout like a giant penis extension>
Enter the age of the WARRIOR!
Enter the time of the end!
The battle will last for eternity
The wounds of the dead never mend.
Cities of flame and fire by night
(You must surrender. You must surrender)
Blackness and terror and fear are in sight
(You must surrender. You must surrender)
Cities of flame and fire by night
(You have surrendered. You have surrendered)
Blackness and terror and fear are in sight
(You have surrendered. You have surrendered)
<as this second repetition of the chorus gets started, 26 leather bikini-clad long-haired lovelies in alternating black, electric blue, neon orange and lime green bikinis start rising behind the band on bleachers previously hidden beneath the stage>
<Fireworks start shooting out from the stage, most notably from the ends of the band's moose antler headpieces; as the band start the again needlessly elaborate song-ending solos, sparks flying from their guitars, the women start singing, in gospel choir style....>
Bring us the new day of rockening
We welcome the dawn of the arockalypse
Bring us the new day of rockening
We welcome the dawn of the arockalypse
Bring us the new day of rockening
We welcome the dawn of the arockalypse
Bring us the new day of rockening
We welcome the dawn of the arockalypse
Bring us the new day of rockening
We welcome the dawn of the arockalypse
Bring us the new day of rockening
We welcome the dawn of the arockalypse
<at this point, it becomes clear that Odin and Thor's headpieces are actually on fire. Panic breaks out on stage, the drum kit explodes, the bleachers collapse, and the last sight anyone gets of ₮hünderhaɱɱeƦ is total chaos as three burly men with huge codpieces and flaming moose antlers try and run through a large pile of broken-limbed women in bikinis>

Elena Mirekova: Welcome back Kingsley Bedford to WorldVision 8!
Georgi Turskchenko: Well, How did you like that entry we just heard Elena?
Elena: Loved Thunderhammer, It gets my twelve points but It seems to be similar to a Finnish Eurovision entry. It dosn't bother me, as I liked that song
Georgi: What is Eurovision?
Elena: Beats me, so lets move on with the show!!!!!!!!!

Baby don't you know what you mean to me?
You turned me into what I never thought I'd be
I used to be all on my own
And I don't want to be alone again
Like I was back then
But baby, now I'm feeling fear
Cause I know that we won't be here forever
I don't wanna leave you behind
There's something in my mind that never
Wants to let you go, oh no
Chorus:
I looked at all the lovers and I looked at all the friends
I didn't know that all good things must come to an end
But I won't look at no one else but you no more
Cause I never had nothin' worth missing before
After the singer sings the first time through, Stuart Sanden himself launches into one of his now-infamous pentatonic solos on the trumpet. Overall, it sounds something like this (http://www.zshare.net/audio/5487391977ade3aa/). Then comes verse two:
Someone's out there staring now at me and you
Wishing he could have someone to be with, too
But all the staring I ignore
Just like they did to me before, when they
Had nothing to say
I don't have enough time to waste
Thinking of being in his place. I'll spend all
The time I have right where you are
Before we go so far, and end all
That we ever had. It's sad!
(chorus again)

Nieiwenski: And we've had 3 more now. First off was Bazalonia, Send up the Clowns. And I didn't get that one. Were they trying to summon Chtulhu or something?
Scianawski: No. I wouldn't be surprised to see something so fucked up on a WorldVision stage, but there was a translation on the screen. Were they singing in... Bazalonian?
Niewienski: Maybe... It's hard to tell, the singing was very distorted... So we can't say to much about this song's lyrics, but I'll to my theory. As for the translation, though, they have a point. Clowns must die, and I don't ever want to have to see one on a WorldVision stage. Or any-where else for that matter.
Scianawski: Trust me we will. We've had singing donkeys, wannabe rappers, communist propaganda, and songs in Portuguese. Pretty much anything will find it's way into WorldVision, as long as it's fucked up enough.
Niewienski: Well then, we have some fucked up stuff here in Swilatia, what are we sending this year? Are +real actually going to win this time.
Scianawski: No, we have a national final after all. This time our entry will be Band #1.
Niewienski: Those guys? Damn... So, I guess we go back to what we just saw, Next, The Holy Empire. Thunderhammer, With a weird accent mark on every letter of it, Cities of Flame and Fire by Night.
Scianawski: And, we have another heavy song, this time with less distorted words. And a 40 minute guitar solo!
Niewienski: And this is from a Holy Empire?
Scianawski: Well, it's certainly better then having to listen to some stupid priest music. And their entry last year. Seriously... jazz?
Niewienski: Which brings us to the Zwangzug entry. I'm not sure those guise have ever done anything for the contest. They're not even trying on Hats this year...
Scianawski: Well, they almost got last once! But then some country came and voted for it's world cup buddies, and ruined everything. We still got to laugh at Wijaska Island though...
As the Wavispian band Wavecrash came onto the stage, two (Wavispa Music Department) WMD persons were arguing about the song.
Are we sure we should have let them write their own song?
How bad could it be?
They had no idea...
I could go away
But it's easier to stay
Tonight
I never meant this but
It just happened anyway
Falling in Love
I've falling in love with you
I've failling in love tonight
Falling
Falling
Falling
Falling
In love...
I've falling in love with you
Falling
Falling
Falling
Falling
In love...
I've failling in love tonight
I would come so high
But I'm falling of the sky
In love...
I've falling in love with you
I could stay tonight
But I'm falling in your love
In love...
I've falling in love tonight
With you
Tonight
In love
With you
Tonight
In love
In love
With you
Tonight
In love
Tonight
With you
Tonight
With You
In love
I could go away
Tonight
But it's easier to stay
In love
Tonight
I've never meant this but
In love
It just happened anyway
Tonight
In love
I've falling in love with you
I've failling in love tonight
Falling
Falling
Falling
Falling
In love...
How long does this need to be
Let's just keep on going on
Tonight
In love
In love
In love
In love
In love
Tonight
I never meant this but
In love
In love
In love
In love
Tonight
It happened anyway
It never ends
Tonight
Stay on the stage
In love
Fall off the edge
With you
Fall off the edge
and fall in love
and fall in love
Tonight
Keep going on
Falling in love
It never ends
Falling in love
Stay on the stage
Fall off the edge
Falling in love
It never ends...
Falling in Love...
Don't take me off...
Just 10 more lines
Or maybe 12...
Writing is hard...
Please take me home...
Stay on the stage....
Falling in love...
Oh shit they're here...
Stay on the stage...
Don't take me home...
Falling in love...
Fall off the edge...
How long does this need to be?
Have we been here long enough?
Stay on the stage...
They'll take us home...
Let go of me...
Let go of me...
They were finally pulled off the stage. Every-one was relieved.
What the hell was that?
I have no idea...

The group Mensageiros de Obalatá are ready to enter the stage. But first, some people prepare their presentation, throwing some dirt in the stage, and putting there a table with cachaça, some sweets and a chicken... alive. When they arrive with the chicken, the people get worried, believing that the chicken will be killed live again, but they say that this time this won't happen.
The members of the group finally arrive, all wearing white clothes, ready to pay their homage to the Orixás, and start to sing:
Oooooooooohhhhh, ziriguidum pacará!
Ameeeeeeeehhhhh, titotacum setumbrá!
Timbalô vacunsê Iemanjá!
The instruments start to be played. They are simple ones. There is a guitar, a percussion and a berimbau. The music is very, very slow.
In the deepest place of the sea
Iemanjá the Queen we can see
In their boats the fishermen pray
As she will surely guide their way
The music continues slow, but the singers start to sing a bit faster (still slow, just faster than before):
A Orixá who holds the power
To change the waves and the water
We must devote to the Queen
She keeps the water serene
Please start with the preparations
A ritual must be made
We must improve our relations
So she can now come to our aid
Make a circle in the field
This is where the magic lives
We are protected, bad spirits sealed
Let's see what the Orixá gives
Give me more cachaça and beer
I need this to set me free
Come to me, don't need to fear
Iemanjá will hear our plea
Ritual was done, sacrifice made
Alcohol and blood will mix
Our spirits she is allowed to invade
Her power erases all conflicts
Now with the ritual ended
We hope we were attended
Iemanjá who controls the sea
Surely answered our plea
Oooooooooohhhhh... Iemanjá is the Queen of the seas!
Oooooooooohhhhh... Iemanjá is the Queen of the seas!
Oooooooooohhhhh... Iemanjá is the Queen of the seas!
Oooooooooohhhhh... Iemanjá is the Queen of the seas!
Oooooooooohhhhh... Iemanjá is the Queen of the seas!
They end their song, and the ones who didn't sleep during the presentation can continue to watch the contest.
Cafundeu
31-01-2009, 21:21
Cafundéu's representative gets prepared to enter the stage. He is Erik Stock Market, a rock idol who is already in his late fifties, but still does a lot of success with his songs that don't abandon the style he had thirty years ago. The older people are the majority of his fans, but he has been able to earn the respect of many younger fans. Erik enters the stage with a electric guitar, and his band (an usual rock band composition) gets prepared too. He says hello to WorldVision and Nethertopia, and starts to play his guitar, being followed by his mates. After a short instrumental introduction, during which he says phrases like "Let's go!" and other things to motivate the public, he starts to sing "My CEO":
In the country capital's main street
There is one building taller than anything
It's a big company and I work there
For the person who always faces me with despair
While things seem pretty calm when I'm alone
Killing time when my job isn't done
That enormous bald figure enters the room
And a gesture from him can represent your doom, hey!
The music changes a bit, and his band mates sing the end of each verse of this part:
He wears an expensive suit (an extra large)
Walks as a king would (no one can barge)
His fortune is unlimited (could buy the world)
He's the company leader (should have told)
Then the chorus comes:
He is my CEO
His words always count
He is my CEO
Check his bank account
He is the CEO, and if he doesn't want
My payment will not come
Oh, yeah!
The song returns to the first part, but with different lyrics:
It happens since I've got my job
He never changes is a real snob
His favourite phrase is "you aren't working enough!"
Appears in social columns but to us talks rough
Time is money, don't waste it or street!
We have no time if we want to eat
He is so unpleasant but I can't do anything
After all my payment only comes from him, hey!
He wears an expensive suit (an extra large)
Walks as a king would (no one can barge)
His fortune is unlimited (could buy the world)
He's the company leader (should have told)
Because he is my CEO
His words always count
He is my CEO
Check his bank account
He is the CEO, and if he doesn't want
My payment will not come
Oh, yeah!
After the chorus in sang this time, Erik starts a short guitar solo. After that, the keyboard and saxophone are played too, and this instrumental part lasts for a bit more until he returns to sing:
He wears an expensive suit (an extra large)
Walks as a king would (no one can barge)
His fortune is unlimited (could buy the world)
He's the company leader (should have told)
He is my CEO
His words always count
He is my CEO
Check his bank account
He is the CEO, and if he doesn't want
My payment won't come
He is the CEO (the CEO)
Oh, he is the CEO (the CEO)!
(ooc: I'm going to be be very busy over the remainder of this competition, due hosting the next WBC and proibably the next BoF, [not to mention the Olympics], so no more critiques, just let me know in either the BoF or WBC thread when it is time to vote. Niewienski: And we just saw the Wavispa entry, and... What the hell was that? Should that even be considered a song?
Scianawski: Hardly anything here should be considered a song. But I was especially relieved to see them get kicked off. They just tired to make the "song" as long as they could. They even admitted it... "Stay on the stage", "How long does this need to be".
Niewienski: No, get off the stage. This needs to be 5 seconds long, you've been on for half an hour now.
Scianawski: Yeah, no-one's going to vote for some fake band saying the words "tonight", "falling", and "love" over and over for 20 minutes.
Niewiesnki: Well, they were also singing about how writing a song is hard for them. Well, if writing is so hard for you, shouldn't you have given it up and spared us?
Scianawski: Imagine... if that message actually got across... there wouldn't even have to be a WorldVision. But since we're stuck here, we need to keep going until the contest is done, and we see who wins not us again...
Niewienski: Next up, Cafundeu, er, Terreiro de Ogum have their own weird brand of priest music, they're singing about some kind of "Orixa" or something like that. And, from last year, they have their dirt, alcohol, and chicken, but no sacrifice this time. Only priest music...
Scianawski: Well some-one ought to tell these people that prayer doesn't work. They've killed a chicken and made some kind of weid potion thing, and what's that supposed to do? Improve their relations... with what?
Niewienski: Well, to an invisible man in the sky, obviously. Well, okay, here it's an invisible woman. But still. It's not going to save you or aid you. Your god doesn't exist.
Scianawski: And then there was the end of the ritual. They were not attended. This song, and the one before it, were so slow, that half the auience was asleep. And I'm willing to bet your sea god has done nothing for you. Thank you for wasting the entire world's time on stage...
Niewienski: And finally, the actual Cafundeu enty, My CEO, by Erik Stock Market.
Scianawski: And we have Cafundeu's biggest washed-up superstar. All the old people are cheering on him, but the rest of has moved on to more recent stuff, like Dark Sky Project and such. So no-one care about your music, or should retire. Or kill yourself.
Niewienski: So apparently he's still working, if you have such a problem... you know you can just quit your job...

Betty arrives on stage in a short black dress, to sing her pop-rock song No More Time To Cry.
I've looked into your eyes so many times
I used to think that what I saw in them was love
But when I look there now I realise
It's other girls you're thinking of
But it's not enough to keep me down tonight
Another burst of colour, another flash of light
And the room is going to break into a fight
So I'll move on, to where it's daylight
And I've got no more time to cry
Not even time to say goodbye
Oh, just like you, yeah
I can be just like you, yeah
But I'm so much more than that
And it is you who will regret
Everything that you did
I'm doing better than you, yeah
You are so messed up
You never think at all and you went too far
And every time I look
You're slipping more and more from where you are
But if you ever came crawling back to me
With the worst excuse and a pitiful plea
And you say it could be how it used to be
I'd say "try all you want, but I'm better off free"
And I've got no more time to cry
Not even time to say goodbye
Oh, just like you, yeah
I can be just like you, yeah
But I'm so much more than that
And it is you who will regret
Everything that you did
I'm doing better than you, yeah
Oh, you're not enough to keep me down tonight (or any other night)
And it's sad to say you can't tell wrong from right (it's all plain to my sight)
And the room has broken into one more fight
But I am gone, and now it's daylight
And I've got no more time to cry
Not even time to say goodbye
Oh, just like you, yeah
I can be just like you, yeah
But I'm so much more than that
And it is you who will regret
Everything that you did
I'm doing better than you, yeah
So much better than you, yeah
No time to cry about you, yeah
Thank you Tenderville!

And so the Spoons walked up on stage. They marched in a military formation, with the guitarist and the bassist carrying their instruments like rifles over their shoulders and the vocalist, Zeeth, waving a large Futurian flag. When they reached the middle of the scene, Zeeth pushed a little button on the flagpole and the flag transformed into the Nethertopian flag. He waved it a few times while the band took places, then he pressed another building and the flag quickly transformed to a small pill which he put down in his pocket. He picked up the microphone and called to the audience:
"Hello Nethertopia, now I'm supposed to shout some generic message to you to make you cheer, so to follow tradition, rock on!"
The band started to play a slow intro, while Zeeth soon joined them, singing like in a slow ballad.
And over and over again he says
It was better in the good ol' days... Not!
After the word "not" the music and song speeded up. Between every verse Dale played a short but heavy guitar riff.
Can't you see that you're a fossil?
A leftover of the ancient ways
Only a fool with eyes off the road
Can long back to the "good" old days
Progress is the keyword
You must always keep a fast pace
Unless you should be left behind
And never reach the better place
[chorus]
Let loose, and let yourself be dragged away
by the progress train
It's no idea to stay
Remember that what used to be liberal things
Became the conservative ways
and the world is constantly changing
But it still was better in the good ol' days... Not!
Plague, famine and war
their area of effect was vast
intolerance, rich versus poor
they are all things of the past
Higher life expectancy
Safer pregnancy
Freedom and liberty
do you still think the future is bad?
[chorus]
Let loose, and let yourself be dragged away
by the progress train
It's no idea to stay
Remember that what used to be liberal things
Became the conservative ways
and the world is constantly changing
But it still was better in the good ol' days... Not!
[twelve second solo, with lots of wah-wah pedal]
After the solo the music slowed down and the singer started to talk
All aboard the progress train
The better world will come some day
All aboard the progress train
destined to the future world
After this short brake the music speeded up once again and the singer gave up a loud "Yeeaah" before he started to sing again
Let loose, and let yourself be dragged away
by the progress train
It's no idea to stay
Remember that what used to be liberal things
Became the conservative ways
Let loose, and let yourself be dragged away
by the progress train
It's no idea to stay
Remember that what used to be liberal things
Became the conservative ways
Finally all music stopped except for the guitar that played a slow tune without distortion, while the singer sung slow like in the beginning
And hear him sing and dance away
it was better in the good ol' days... Not!
The final "not" was followed by a short guitar solo.
Once finished the returned to their military formation, facing the exact same direction as when they marched in, and so they marched backwards while Zeeths flag constantly morphed between Future-World and Nethertopia.

Georgi Turskchenko: Yes, Elena and we've just heard the entry from Wavispa. I must say it was repetitive.
Elena: Not a winner in my opinion. What about Cafundeu?
Georgi: Sound's like an ode to his boss? He either is in love with his CEO or really wants either a payrise or a promotion.
Elena: I quite liked the Futurian entry And it was impressive when the flag changed.
Georgi: A definite strong entry

What's going on? Why isn't anyone posting?
OOC: WorldVision traditionally slows down a bit towards the end of the songs being posted. Swilatia and/or the hosts then nag those nations that haven't posted a song yet, and after a suitable deadline's set, the voting begins. So don't worry, it's not unusual to see a slow period like this!

IGTV1 coverage of the WSC8
WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST 8
Jorge Barros: So, welcome again...
Rita Fernandes: ...to the WorldVision Song Contest 8, here in Nethertopia!
JB: Let's go, so, to Qazox. What do you think, Rita?
RF: WHAT is this? A heavy-metal - at least, a heavy-metal-like - song with strong language?!
JB: Let people use the freedom. I like it.
RF: There's nothing worse than this song, for me!!!
JB: In Lurikastan, we have a good song called "Sunnydale Rock" by Fredrick Albertson ad Sexy Shoremen.
RF: Unfortunately I detected a strong word! I really hate strong language!!!
JB: Don't be like that, please! I strongly defend the freedom of expression! This is a democracy!
RF: By Starwide, Valeneska, "A Distant Light"! Good, isn't it?
JB: Yes, of course, I agree with you completely.
RF: Yes, at least they haven't strong language.
JB: Nethertopia!
RF: The best song ever listen in every WSC. The violin, the guitar, the orchestra and the singers, who play the guitar and the violin, respectively. This suits very well for a romantical song!
JB: The best... at least for this contest! I agree with you.
RF: Bazalonia!
JB: Unfortunately, I don't like this song. First, I had a nightmare about this song and the group tried to kill me! And then, another nightmare about it, and at this time the men fought against me with lightsabres, like in the (RL) "Star Wars" six movies. Third, another nightmare! At this time, they were like "orcs" like on the (RL) "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy and they tried again to kill me, but with pistols, bombs, springalds and machine guns instead.
RF: You see too much films, don't you?
JB: I love cinema. I'm a fan of movies. And another scary song from the Holy Empire, by Thunderhammer, "Cities of Flame and Fire by Night". They provoked me another nightmare!
RF: Another?
JB: Yes, they tried to kill me with flames and thunderbolts. These heavy-metal songs make me crazy!!!
RF: Don't worry, Zwangzug song is better.
JB: Yes, this ones, "Never Had Nothin'", by Stuart Sanden's Moderately Sized Ensemble, is better-sounding.
RF: I agree. The Wavispan song is also a good sung...
JB: Yes, I agree again.
RF: The Terreiro de Ogum's is also funny!
JB: Yes. This is also a thing for fun.
RF: Cafundéu's entry, "My CEO", by Erik Stock Market!
JB: The song is very well sung, and even with already near sixty, he songs pretty well!
RF: This is art and fun! This is the song I really love: "No More Time to Cry", by Betty!
JB: Another pretty beautiful woman singing well...
RF: "Progress is the keyword" is the phrase well sung by the Spoons, from Future-World, to sing "The good ol' days (NOT)"!
JB: "Progress is the keyword". They are right. I like this music.
RF: We have more nine songs... see you later. This is WorldVision Song Contest 8, here in Nethertopia, city of Tenderville, in the OMEN Stage!
Both: See you later!

[OOC: I wrote and recorded this song for WorldVision 8. Below is a link to a video that has the words on screen. Please watch it!]

"Ladies and gentlemen, Svartvladet!"
As the crowd cheers, the lights flash to reveal a five-piece band. The band members look like monks in their dark hooded robes. At the front, a monolithic man leads the group. They stand before a large banner.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v36/FuzzyOne/Svartvladetbandsetupsmall.gif
The drummer starts a rapid military cadence for four bars. Two guitars, a bass, and a synthesizer join with fast attacks of single notes. The lead guitarist plays a simple melody above the dissonant chords.
A low, booming voice echoes out across the stage.
The absence of reason is God.
The absence of God is pain.
The absence of heaven is hell.
The absence of hell is never.
The growl of the verse is followed by the angelic harmony of the chorus, sung by the other members of the band. They sway rhythmically as they sing.
Ruined hell! Heaven fallen!
Heathens burn ancient wisdom.
Motionless, the dark figure leads the next verse.
The presence of heaven is hell.
The presence of hell is pain.
The presence of God is heaven.
The presence of God is gone.
As if unleashed from a cage, the lead guitarist tears across the stage. His movements match the rising intensity of his solo.
The voices of the chorus return. The heavenly tibre of the voices clashes against the meaning of the words.
Ruined hell! Heaven fallen!
This time, the hooded leader joins in their anguished cries.
Ruined hell! Heaven fallen!
(We gave you gold. You gave us hell.)
Heathens burn ancient wisdom.
(We gave you gold. You gave us hell.)
The drums drop out and the guitars, bass, and synthesizer play one last frenzied measure.
Before the last note ends, the lights turn off, leaving the crowd cheering in darkness.

SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage
Niewienski: So, it's another break, another 3 songs, we've just had Cachette de Lions. Betty. No More Time to Cry.
Scianawski: Not much to say about this one. Typical pop-rock WorldVision entry, nothing special, and it won't get anything special in the voting.
Niewienski: What about last place?
Scianawski: No, they don't even want to try for that. Ususally the last place song actually does something. Fascism, Plagiarism, Silence, Singing Donkeys, and what do we have this year? Just some kind of pop-rock. No, I don't see it. Maybe it might win, those songs have never been remarkable.
Niewienski: Well, excpet for them not deserving to win. Did we ever give 12 points to Biało Niebieskie? Yeah, I know, you can't vote for your own country. But would we want to? Has Swilatia ever sent anything good to the contest.
Scianawski: And then, we have the Future-World entry. These guys popped up in WorldVision 8, somehow won, and then disappeared. And now they're back with more crap. The last guys must have had a good time talking about their song, this year's model is called "The Good Old Days Not", by the Spoons.
Niewienski: And, it starts off, they looked like they were going to invade us. Maybe end this contes, or add theselves to the list of two-time winners. They place their flag on stage, and it somehow changes iteself to the Nethertopia flag.
Scianawski: So it means on with the show doesn't it. And we thought the show would be over.
Niewienski: Well, we are at 18 songs, aren't we? That's how long it turned out to be last time...
Scianawski: No, we haven't performed yet. And after another political song from Future-World, we have New Haustreland, Dogmantra. Whatever the hell that means.
Niewienski: Some religion thing, prolly. The whole thing soinds like some kind of priest music, at leat when you look at the words...
Scianwaski: So that's where out "Holy Empire" went. I guess we know who isn't getting points from Swilatia. Maybe some terrorists might vote for it, but who else?
Niewienski: Well, we never know which countries got points from which countries. Maybe if some religious wackos get on a national jury, those countries might vote. Not in Swilatia though. We've had televoting since contest one...

The Flying Foobars came out looking like your typical reggae band: lead singer/guitarist, guitarist, basist, keyboardist, drummer, and three plus-size female backup singers. And plenty of dreadlocks.
As the music started, the lead singer shouted,
"FOOBAR LOVE!"
Then the song began.
Sometimes people disagree
That's vital in a democracy
But why be mean? We don't have to be
We can just discuss things civilly
It never did occur to me
Why people take things so personally
Take a step back and you can see
A better way to use your energy
So many people in the world today
Want to bring us down in every way
If you hate the game, then why do you play?
Use your energy in a positive way
There's just one thing I want to say
We can change our world today
If you hate the game, then why do you play?
Use your energy in a positive way
Now I like a healthy debate
It's important to participate
But it seems some people concentrate
On blocking love and spreading hate
I know I'm not the smartest man
But I know that I have in my hand
The power to disrespect a man
But using that power is not in my plan
Oh no, it's not
Take a step back and you will see
A better way to use your energy
So many people in the world today
Want to bring us down in every way
If you hate the game, then why do you play?
Use your energy in a positive way
There's just one thing I want to say
We can change our world today
If you hate the game, then why do you play?
Use your energy in a positive way
Musical interlude, featuring mainly the keyboardist. Then the music comes down low for the bridge before going back to normal for the third verse.
If you hate the game, then why do you play?
If you hate the game, then why do you play?
If you hate the game, then why do you play?
If you hate the game...
why do you play?
Now listen...
Like drinking six gallons of alcohol
Some things just don't make sense at all
Why would you want to give your all
Into putting people down and watching them fall?
The word "fall" is repeated a few times, each time with added distortion, leading up to the final chorus
So many people in the world today
Want to bring us down in every way
If you hate the game, then why do you play?
Use your energy in a positive way
There's one thing I have left to say
You can change your world today
If you hate the game, then why do you play?
Use your energy in a positive way
If you hate the game...
Why do you....why do you play?
Use your energy
In a positive way
FOOBAR LOVE!
Kemball Island

And here's Kemball Island's entry: You, by The Jedi
(44 second psychedelic riff before lead singer steps up and whispers into the microphone, with violins playing quietly in the background as he whispers)
Yooooooooooooooooooou
Are the only thing i'll ever need
The only thing my heart can see
You're even better than LSD
I love you, and you love me
(Big guitar riff and the synthesizers kick in as the singer starts singing)
Walk...with me one more time
Set our life to this romancing
Kiss by the sea and let love drag us in
You know you're the only thing i'll ever need
(Slow drumbeat as the synthesizers and guitar die down)
Don't even talk, we don't need it
This is true love, I can see it
People like us walk on the air
Sit by the river and watch our love flow
Together, forever, until our last days
If I were to grow old, my comfort in life
Would be that you're growing old with me
If I were to die, my comfort would be
I could watch you in Heaven, and nothing else matters
(Bass and synhesizers kick in again)
You're all I need
You're all I need
You're all I need
You're all I need
(guitar kicks back in)
You're all I need...
So never leave

Swilatia Entry - You Lied, by Band #1
The previously unheard-of Band #1 comes out onto the stage. The band doesn't really have any history or identity, aside from somehow winning piosenka dla swilasji, and being the Swilatian entry to WorldVision. None of the band members were really good with the instrument they were playing. The singer, aside from not being able to sing, also mispronounced much of the lyrics, which were already in really bad english to begin with.
The stage show was very simple, there weren't any dancers on the stage, only the band trying to play their song. The music video of the song was shown on a video screen, but it was hard to see against all the other light effects on the stage.
Back here in second class
And world is passing through the windows
And why are we still standing here
And everything the world is falling backward
That's not where we are now
You lied to me again
Lost in the city
And you wouldn't said it
That's where i lost it
And that's where you sold it
And that's where I searched it
It's fucking gone now
And now it's over, baby
You lied straight from beginning
I don't want this place now
So now we make it over
And now it's over, baby
You lied to have my money
I don't want this place now
So now we make it over
It was the friday night
And everyone was lying, killing, stealing
And is there any chance
That anything the world is still together
That's not where we are now
Lost in the station
And you wouldn't take it
And that's where I missed it
And that's where you dropped it
And that's where I wait it
There's no way home now
And now it's over, baby
You lied straight from beginning
I don't want this place now
So now we make it over
And now it's over, baby
You lied to have my money
I don't want this place now
So now we make it over
To już koniec baby!
To już koniec baby!
To już koniec baby!
To już koniec baby!
To już koniec baby!
Bears Armed
09-02-2009, 21:08
'LandMother' are getting ready to perform.
OOC: Expect my nation's song tomorrow...
Bears Armed
10-02-2009, 20:17
The lights come up, to reveal that the group called ‘LandMother’ are now on stage. This band consists of eight male Ursines (i.e. anthropomorphic Bears), five with brown fur and three with black, all of whom are wearing white trousers and open-fronted jackets. One is sitting behind a drum-set, and another behind a marimba, with one standing at a double bass between these. Standing to right of that rhythm section (from the audience’s viewpoint) and a bit nearer the front of the stage are two fiddlers, and in the corresponding position at the left are two guitarists. Another guitarist, one of the black-furred Ursines, is standing front-and-centre. He addresses the audience.
“Hello WorldVision! Hello World! We are ‘LandMother’, and I am Ferred Thunder.
Let’s ROCK!”
The band goes into a fast-paced ‘Rock’ tune, in which both the fiddlers and the pair of ‘backing’ guitarists get chances to show off, and then — after about one-and-a-half minutes, while the rest of the band play on — Ferred starts to sing:
“Oh, let’s go out in the woods tonight;
Oooh, and frolic by the full moon’s light;
Aaah, I know you’re gonna to treat me right;
Fat-bottomed she-bears,
You make the rutting world go round!”
(A quartet of “well-built” female Ursines, wearing rah-rah skirts and go-go boots, enter from stage left and begin to dance — if one defines the word “dance” loosely, anyway — around Ferred and the other musicians. Any male Ursines in the audience will probably find them quite attractive… although I suspect that Human watchers won’t… and should just be glad that I didn’t decide to parody Bucks Fizz & ‘Making Your Mind Up’ instead… ;))
“Hey _
I was just a skinny cub,
Never had been down the pub,
But I’d mated ere I left the nursery;
Left alone with big fat Urrsa,
She sure was a naughty nurse! Eh,
Big fat Urrsa made a big boar-bear of me!
Hey, hey!
I have travelled with my band,
The longth and broadth of all our land;
I have even toured ‘Beyond The River’ too:
But the greatest thrill I found,
Was in rolling on the ground,
With a perky porky she-bear nicknamed ‘Puh’.
Oh, let’s go out in the woods tonight;
Oooh, and frolic by the full moon’s light;
Aaah, come on and give me all you’ve got _
Fat-bottomed she-bears,
You make the rutting world go round!
Fat-bottomed she-bears,
You make the rutting world go round!
Hey listen here_
Now my den is full of cubs,
I’ve been banned from all the pubs,
Ain't no beauty queens in this locality. (I tell ya!)
Oh, but I still get my pleasure
Still got my greatest treasure.
Heap big she-bear, you make a ‘Raging Bull’ of me!
Now get this!
Oh, let’s go out in the woods tonight (please);
Oooh, and frolic by the full moon’s light;
Aaah, you gonna let it all hang out;
Fat-bottomed she-bears, You make the rutting world go round (Yeah!)
Fat-bottomed she-bears, You make the rutting world go round
GET ON YOUR BIKES AND RIDE!”
(Ferred stops singing, and joins the rest of the band in playing variations on the original tune. They continue for roughly another three minutes, at irregular intervals during which he utters each of the following lines…)
“Oooh yeah, oh yeah, them fat-bottomed she-bears.”
“Fat-bottomed she-bears,
Yeah, yeah, yeah _
All right;”
”Ride me, sow-bear!”
“Fat-bottomed she-bears,
Yes, yes.”
(and finally, he and the rest of the band all burst into song together…)
“ Oh, let’s go out in the woods tonight;
Oooh, and frolic by the full moon’s light;
Aaah, come on and give me all you’ve got _
Fat-bottomed she-bears,
You make the rutting world go round!
Fat-bottomed she-bears,
You make the rutting world go round!”
(...and they end on a crescendo of sound.)
____________________________________________
From the programme guide_
‘Beyond The River’, for historical reasons, means ‘Abroad’.
‘Puh’[/I] means “Small, but highly-valued”.
[b]‘Raging Bull’ was the name of a legendary Ursine hero from ancient times, who was famed for his virility as well as for his martial prowess.
OOC: and although this is obviously a parody of Queen's 'Fat-bottomed Girls' from an OOC viewpoint, as far as the Bears themselves are concerned IC it was genuinely created independently of that RL song... The band opened themselves to inspiration, and this is what they got...)

(Briano plays his solo, which consists of farting and plopping, accompanied by a boogie-woogie piano riff, interspersed with samples from multi-instrumental jazz musicians. Then Ringo plays upside down, playing the snare drum with his feet, and the bass drum with his hands. While the spotlight has been on the other musicians, Ghono has produced a harmonica from inside his briefs, leaving us wondering where there was room. He plays a solo and then continues);
Now Esperantujo 2 goes into space,
One question asks the human race.
Kiel, kiel, kiel, kiel vi povos feki?

Brown moon, I see you standing alone,
without an earthworm to process

SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage
Niewienski: So we've just had our entry. And three other songs.
Scianawski: Well, actually, 2 song, our entry and another song. We weren't the first on this list, we had Scotchpinestan first. "Use your energy", by The Flying Foobars.
Niewienski: Okay, first question, what the hell is a "Foobar" anyway?
Scianawski: No idea. Prolly something that flies. Or, maybe something that doesn't fly. Or maybe a way of saying "we couldn't come up with a real name." But that's just the band. The song is really the part that gets the votes.
Niewienski: Really. I don't see myself voting for this. It's the kind of song that would fit in at WorldVision 1. Basically a peace song slash the World is bad song. Same basic idea as "Koniec Swiata. Aren't WorldVision songs supposed to be original?
Scianawski: With WorldVision having gone on for so long, is there really any Original ideas left?
Niewienski: Well, let's see. Next, we had Kemball Island. You. And they claim to be Jedi, but I didn't see any lightsabres. Or the force. Or any of the other things Jedi do.
Scianawski: Typical love song really. The kind of stuff you see a lot of at WorldVision, trying to get to WorldVision, and even outside of WorldVision.
Niewienski: Well, if this what WorldVision is about, this one might get a few votes, actually get somewhere. So close to the voting now, who will win? Who will get last place? Where will we end up?
Scianawski: I would say Rejistania would win, but last year we saw they weren't the only country to win more then once. As for last place, my money's on Wavispa. And since we just saw our song...
Niewienski: I don't think it's going very far. We're not going to win WorldVision 3 times, not with what we normally send. And this year we've had a bunch of high-school students pretending to be a band. With an average pop-rock song.
Scianawski: Average? You're giving them too much credit. They couldn't play their instruments, they couldn't sing, and they couldn't really speak english. The lyrics were engrish enough, and then they had to butcher every word. Why do they even try?
Niewienski: Were they trying? I don't think so, unless they were trying to be bad. They gave up toward the end though. The last line was in Polish. Even less people understood.
Scianawski: Well, we ca't have Fayala Sanie every year. And finally Bears Armed. "Fat-Bottomed SheBears".
Niewienkski: I never quite got why these guys even participate in the contest. Yeah, freedom of speech and all, but they should have saw what everyone thought about Desborough Donkey.
Scianawski: Well, lets just them get last place. Maybe if they get zero points that will convince them to leave, We haven't heard anything from Lovisa in ages.
NiewienskiL Thankfully no. But many pionsenka dla swilasji entries want to take us the next Lovisa. What if what of them wins?
Scianawski: That's never going to happen. Maybe in Wijaska or Valeneska. But not here.

You put a post telling who gets how many points. Voting announcements use the same format as Eurovision, which for those who don't know, looks a bit like this.
1st place gets 12
2nd gets 10
3rd gets 8
4th gets 7
5th gets 5

10th gets 1
The rest get nothing.

Rejistania
16-02-2009, 11:31
The group, Kuru Kuru was clad in green uniform-like, overdecorated clothes,
which very blatantly were in the esthetic style which was only derogativly
called reja inivila (inflation style, since it was most common in economic
crises). Sani's guitar and Nimix's bass were decorated with something
glittery and shiny. Jeme was sitting behind his Hang drums while Syku used a
thing, which looked like a cross between a hard and wheel. The instrument
was a novelty also in Rejistania where it had the name Xakama Ykta.
The music started: slowly and peacefully, the sound of a different, exotic
world was created. Even though it was not so different that people would
feel immediately alienated from it. Kuru Kuru already wrote the muic for
science fiction films and so those, with a weird taste in films might feel
reminded of the film: Xe'ki'sidekhir il sohery'ra ines (I will meet you in a
new simulation). Sani sang:
Jesahir mi'landa'ra sikat'ny'mesit
mi'mesu'han tekne'ra, hakim mesit.
Sanja'mi Jesahir mi'aru riva'ra.
Mi'tekneluru lasisa ve kisisa.
Tekne taren, sanja salan!
Nilhe'ki'ishi sike'tan!
(Jesahir stands between the curtains
he looks outside, always between (two stools)
The life of Jesahir was separated
He dreamt often and will often dream
The world outside, the high life.
No one will hurt from there on (from the time on he will be there))
During the refrain, the music stops being so peacefully, it instead gets a certain feeling of yearning of desperation:
Jilih-a, jilih-a, jilih-a, jilih-a mi'aru'ta sanja, sanja.
xe'vana, xe'vana, xe'vana, xe'vana, 'isa,
Tekne taren mi'vija, tekne taren mi'vija
(this-a (This as well as the name Jesahir indicate that the protagonist is
from a remote, rural area), this-a, this-a, this-a isn't the life, the life
I want, I want, I want, I want to go,
the world outside waits, the world outside waits)
The music becomes slower, as if it was mourning for Jesahir.
Jesahir'disde, mi'iskiva sejim,
mi'isa'ra etju, mi'haski'tes Kahitim.
Mi'sere'ta enju ve oyki ve siki'he.
Mi'tekneluru lasisa ve kirise.
Tekne taren, sanja salan!
Nilhe'ki'ishi sike'tan!
(Jesahir decides/decided, he packed a bag,
he boarded the etju (train), leaves it in Kahitim kali
He finds no place to live, no work, no friendly ones
He dreamt often and will dream seldomly
The world outside, the high life.
No one will hurt from there on)
Jilih-a, jilih-a, jilih-a, jilih-a mi'aru'ta sanja, sanja.
xe'vana, xe'vana, xe'vana, xe'vana, 'isa,
Tekne taren mi'vija, tekne taren mi'vija

"And our criticism, of course."
"Nothing from the guys at the weird desk, though, not enough music to overanalyze."
"Really? What about New Haustreland?"
"Well, that and apparently we're just supposed to give the scores."
"You mean we can't criticize the unintelligence of the voters and the other acts?"
"Oh, we still can."
"Pfft. Maybe we'll just give the totals at the end to the worldwide broadcasters, seeing as how they have the names of the actual countries."
"But the countries themselves aren't-"
"We've been through this before, let's just get this over with."
"The first point from Zwangzug will go to...Erik Stock Market!"
"Ah, capitalism. With two points, Qazox!"
"It was Mack and the Johnsons that were actually on stage."
"Yeah, with the lead pipe. Thanks for the points, by the way."
"Three points for...drunken monarchists?"
"Get over it. Four go to our hosts."
"With five, Starwide."
"Ah, the inexplicable Zwangzugian appreciation of Valeneskan incomprehensibility. Was that even the best angsting from their region?"
"What do you prefer?"
"None of it was any good, but I thought the voters would go for Band #1. It's not like trains and being lost in cities don't strike a familiar chord, for lack of a better metaphor."
"Hmm...well, six points go to...Kuru Kuru!"
"Aha! A train, an alienating city...sadly it's in Rejistanian, but whaddaya do?"
"Move on, awarding seven points to...Esperantujo 2?!?"
"There we go! If you're going to go multilingual, at least do it about something interesting."
"I suppose...but come on now..."
"Eight points, New Haustreland! Nice effects."
"And just when you thought you couldn't get enough apocalyptic rock, ten points go to ₮hünderhaɱɱeƦ."
"You can never get enough apocalyptic rock."
"Oh yes I can. About half a measure is enough. You, on the other hand..."
"Point taken. And twelve points given, out to...Future-World?"
"Yeah. The band even used the phrase in the song."
"They come out of nowhere, win, drop out of the picture, and now you want to give them twelve points?"
"I don't care. The voters did."
"Admit it. You liked the song. Even if they begin by saluting the tradition they claim to despise."
"Well, it's a good song."
"How long until the Neoreactionaries cover it?
"Oh, they won't, they're too focused on the future to sing songs from the past."
"But they're reactionaries!"
"Neo!"
"You're hopeless."
"Oh no, I'm quite hopeful."
"...Let's just get the scores ready."

SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage
Scianawski: So, we're at the end of the song, time to vote! Voting for Swilatia will be on the internet, the adress is on the screen.
Niewienski: Yeah, I know, but I'm not going to vote. So, before we get the the voting results, let's look at what we had. Last year we did this start to end, so this time let's do it end to start. So you just saw, and this is the only coverage we feel like giving for these songs...
Scianawski: Aren't we supposed to cover every song? Is this really fair to the rest of the countries that we spare Rejistania and Esperantujo 2.
Niewienski: No, it's not, but I'm kind of running out now. It's starting to get hard, this contest was almost twice as long as any one before it. So, Rejistania told us the story about some guy from a science fiction movie, Esperantujo asked a Question, and the whole world shouted no. You can always look at the song recap thingy.
Scianawski: Next up, or last up, or whatever, honestly, this is silly, We've had bears singing about other bears. Sure, bears are bears, but the rest of us aren't. Then, we had, yeah, that sounds good, had, Band #21129087879017b trying to pass the long flight or train or whatever to Vilvek with a bit of pop rock and bad English. And Kemball Island talks about how much they love LSD. Can't we just go from the start like a normal person?
Niewienski: We'll get there eventually. I couldn't make out a word of the Scotchpinestan entry, so we'll skip that one. New Haustreland had a song about hell and other religious bull. Future-World did another political song, this time about progress. Which is kind of ironic, because not jokes aren't funny anymore. Cachette de Lions just gave some nondescripit pop-rock.
Scianawski: Cafundeu's biggest washed-up superstar begs for a promotion. Terreiro de Ogum tells us more about their fucked-up religion, but this time no dead chicken. Wavispa tried to sing for a whole hour, but eventually ran out of ideas, but left. Zwangzug had... Jazz? And now I don't get it anymore.
Niewienski: The Holy Empire gives us a song about the arockalypse, the last thing any-one would expect from a holy empire. Bazalonia saves the world from clowns. Nethertopia are the hosts. Valeneska confuse us all but maybe well understand it better if we try again, in the end. But we practically are at the end. Well, except for the voting.
Scianawski: I guess when we give the results, we'll have our explaination. Qazox threatens to start a fight, Lurikastan shows us a tourist video of Sunnydale. Iglesian Archipelago and Seven castles both sing a song in not Spanish. So, we've almost over. Or started. This makes no sense.
Niewienski: Well, if we're almost done, maybe we just get to end. Yeah, this is kind of stupid, but now it's my turn... The Princess of Wijaska Island sings about singing about La la la. I'm not sure what Kingley Bedford was about. And coming of the plane in Tenderville, Galaxianda sings about coming off the plane in Dallas, wherever the hell that is. We'll have live voting coverage as well.

Niewienski: Okay, we're at the start of the voting, and the first country to give their votes is Iglesian Archipelago. And they gives us one point, but next time, speak up.
Scianawski: Well, we can tell they're giving 3 points to Wavispa, for some reason.
Niewienski: It's just 3 points. What's really important is who they give their 12 to. When we get there.
Scianawski: What a shameless self-promotion. Not only did they have to give their 12 to the other Potuguese country, they had to scream it out. I mean, even if we used to give always 12 to Khenas, we never screamed out HEY WORLD, WE'RE GIVING TWELVE POINTS TO KHENAS!
Scianawski: And now, Iglesian Archipelago votes again. Er, Seven Castles.
Niewienski: Well, they both speak it's not Spanish it's Portuguese!, so it's about the same thing I guess.
Scianawski: No, this voting announcement is a bit different. They actually let us hear who got one point, even though hardly any-one pays attention to that. And they Eight to Terreiro de Ogum makes me wonder if they weren't watching last year's WorldVision instead...
Niewienski: But who would give 10 points to Word?
Scianawski: And 12 points got to Iglesian Archipelago. It's the portuguese inavsion.
Niewienski: Well, at least that's all for now, unless Cafudeu and Terreiro de Ogum do the same thing. Instead we have the Qazox votes. Pretty straight forward, this one.
Scianawski: No-one has done anything special with their voting yet, they've been passing rather quickly so far...
Niewienski: Okay, thanks so for the 10 points, that's the most we might get from any-one this year. And twelve...
Scianawski: Twelve to Zwangzug. Nothing very special about this voting then. Next is Cachette de Lions
Niewienski: And nothing special. We're not getting anything from this one, so I guess our band should be thanking Qazox right now.
Scianawski: It's not like we deserve to get 12 anyway. We won twice already, and we're not going to be the first country to win 3 times, or two times in a row.
Niewienski: And 12 points to Scotchpinestan. Maybe they actually understood that on, that's the language they were singing in...
Scianawski: Yeah, well what about all those countries that give 12 to Rejistania?
Niewienski: Well, that's Rejistania. Next up, Zwangzug. First, they give their usual commentary about the songs, and why they can't just use the country names like any-one else.
Scianawski: Well, I certainly don't want to hear any WorldVision covering another WorldVision. So now we're finally at their votes.
Niewienski: ..and 12 to Future-World. Is there a chance they might win this contest again?
Scianawski: Well, le'ts look at the standings...
Valeneska 31 Nethertopia 10
Rejistania 27 Wijaska Island 10
Zwangzug 25 Qazox 9
Future-World 22 Lurikastan 8
Scotchpinestan 17 New Haustreland 8
Terreiro de Ogum 17 Wavispa 7
Swilatia 16 Cachette De Lions 6
The Holy Empire 15 Bears Armed 5
Esperantujo 2 14 Bazalonia 4
Iglesian Archipelago 12 Galaxianda 2
Seven Castles 12 Kemball Island 2
Cafundeu 11 Kingsley Bedford
Scianawski:...and Valeneska is in the lead, somehow. then we have Rejistania, who we can always expect to have a high spot. Zwangug in third, Future World fourth. Kingsley Bedford is last, and they don't have anumber next to them... we need a different program for counting up the votes.
Niewienski: They just haven't gotten any votes yet.
Scianawski: And Teashan didn't give any 1 2 3 4 5 6 or 8 point votes, yet the program still sked for some. We need some other way to keep track of the standings.

IC Version:
And, it looks like we're the next country. So, yeah, this is Vilvek calling, and, um let's get on with the votes.
"The results of the Swilatia televote are as follows"... yeah, whatever that means.
One point goes to Wavispa. Tonight, in love, whatever.
Two points go to Kingsley Bedford, bork, bork, bork.
Three points to Kemball Island, It's better then, like, some other stuff.
Four points to Cachette de Lions, somehow.
Five points to Lurikastan, Sunny-fuckin'-dale!
Six points to The Holy Empire. We welcome the arockalypse!
Seven points to Bazalonia. It's not like any-one likes clowns anyway.
And now, our top 3, are you ready? Or something? Yeah, well, um, let's do it then.
Eight points from Swilatia, go to New Haustreland!
And Valeneska, you can have our ten points... NOT! Ten points to Future-World.
And, okay, we're at the end, or something, almost. You guys want my cell number before or after the 12 points?
Um, yeah, it's you add a 734 if you're not calling from Swilatia, it's like some weird country code thing. Then, (116)-985-071-62. And 12 points, 12 points...
12 points go to... let's see if you can get it...
That's why we're always singing
La, la, la
That's why we're always singing
La, la, la
... Wijaska Island!!

07 - Bazalonia
06 - The Holy Empire

02 - Kingsley Bedford
01 - Wavispa
00 - Every-one else.

Well, almost anyone could win, but it looks like a close race between Valenska, the Holy Empire, Future-world and Rejistana.
OOC: I note that all the other non-English songs had a translation attached except mine. I decided that that would not be IC. However, if anyone wants a translation of the Esperanto, of the line of Pastarr, or indeed of "Gejorghio", I'll do one.

Kemball Island's votes are in:
1 point-Bears Armed
2 points-Valeneska
3 points-Bazalonia
4 points-Seven Castles
5 points-Wavispa

8 points-Future-World
10 points-The Holy Empire
and the 12 points go to...REGISTANIA!!!

SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage
Niewienski: And next country to present their votes is... Esperantujo 2.
Scianawski: So, one point to Kingley Bedford. I guess we're not going to have any null-pointers this year.
Niewienski: Well, at least maybe it will display now...
Scianawski: Ten points to Future-World... looks like we might have another 2-time winner.
Niewienski: I sure hope not. And Twelve points go to...
Scianawski: Valeneska. Now I'm just confused.
Niewienski: Well, some-one has to win, and it looks like it's either them or Rejistania...
Niewienski: Or Future-World...
Scianawski: Okay, now we have Kingley Bedford... voting.
Niewienski: Seems pretty normal, it's in English.
Scianawski: It has to be in English. Even Iglesian Archipeligo did it in English, and they would have loved to do it in not Spanish.
Nieiwienski: And twelve points to the Holy Empire. Looks like we have four countries fighting for the lead.
Scianawski: Well, it certainly beats the same country having the lead for the whole contest... Next country to vote is... Swilatia?
Niewienski: Yeah, well, let's see what it looks like over here. We have some random high school student or something, and the votes are as follows... yeah, well, it is kind of stupid when people just read off the results paper.
Scianawski: Yeah. 12 points some country. Ten points another country. There's no suspense there... and who came up with this particular scorelist?
Niewienski: The general public, probably... and yes, we're ready for the top 3, just get there already.
Scianawski: After the last few, I'm not sure if I want to see it. Seriously, Bazalonia?
Niewienski: No, New Haustreland.
Scianawski: Even worse... and 12 to Wijiska Island? I guess their trying to show the typical Swilatian televoter over here.
Niewienski: And next up to give their votes is... Kemball Island!
Scianawski: Valeneska 31 Rejistania 27, etc, You're a bit behind, but we have the real standings, somewhere.
Niewienski: And 12 to... Registania? Who's that?
Scianawski: The country that won 3 WorldVisions.
Niewienski: Oh. Rejistania. But lat time I checked, they only won two WorldVisions. Are they even in the lead?
Scianwaski: Well, let's see the standings...
Rejistania 54 Nethertopia 16
Future-World 50 Qazox 16
Valeneska 50 Bazalonia 15
The Holy Empire 48 Cachette De Lions 15
New Haustreland 26 Bears Armed 14
Wijaska Island 26 Cafundeu 14
Zwangzug 25 Esperantujo 2 14
Swilatia 23 Lurikastan 13
Seven Castles 22 Wavispa 13
Iglesian Archipelago 18 Galaxianda 8
Scotchpinestan 17 Kemball Island 5
Terreiro de Ogum 17 Kingsley Bedford 3
... So Rejistania is in the lead, but Future-World and Valeneska are tied for second just four points back. And The Holy Empire is also in this race, just two points back.
Niewienski: So, we have a four-way race for the contest. Well, at least that gives us hope that it might be some-one new, but none of the songs are that great. And New Haustreland and Wijaska, tied for fith, need quite a bit of support if they want to win. Lots of ties right now, especially in the bottom half. We're at the top, at least.
Scianawski: We're at eighth place, like we always were in the first few contests. Although it doesn't seem so bad in a field of 24 as it did with 14. Last place is still Kingsley Bedford, although with a few points now.

Syku Akim: Hejida, this is TV Ethana live from KaMaRi kali. Fortunately, this year, no wrongly-placed patriotism makes us do all broadcasting from Sike kali like happened in the previous years.
Jasti Aka~o: Yeah, because this way, we can be where the biggest Worldvision party takes place! *the camera turns around and we see cheering people waving various national flags, many rejistani ones, but one of Bazalonia and a few of Zwangzug were waved*
Syku Akim: Indeed, many people came to the Kalesa Yjik to watch the show and party. We have no actual numbers, but we are sure that this is the biggest WorldVision party since the re-establishment of Rejistania as nation.
Jasti Aka~o: It is the first one.
Syku Akim: Minor Detail! Anyways, I know that the international viewers only want to know whom we assign the votes to... and the domestic viewers and the people who are here live and in person of course as well.
Jasti Aka~o: Do you have the sheet of paper with the results?
Syku Akim: Of course! I am not as dumb as you look like!
Jasti Aka~o: Before you say that, have a look at this. *holds up paper*
Syku Akim: I saw that you wanted to steal it, thus I replaced it by one of my erotic poems! Feel free to read from it.
Jasti Aka~o: *looks at it* *pretends to faint*
Syku Akim: With this problem out of the way, here are the results from the Rejistanian televote:

SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage
Niewienski: And next country to give their votes is Wijaska Island. Okay, Wijaska Televoting Results. This one will go quickly.
Scianawski: One Lurikastan Two Seven Castles... damn, can't keep up. At least we get to see their twelve soon...
Niewienski: Swilatia ten, Twelve Future-World! And next country to vote, Rejistania.
Scianawski: And they decided to do it in their own language. I sure hope Iglesian Archipelago and Seven Castles aren't taking notes on this. We don't need more portuguese in this...
Niewienski: They're doing it in English as well. Although some of it will make me wish they weren't.
Scianawski: Still. Iglesian Archipelago will want it to be all Portuguese, like both their songs this year.
Niewiesnki: Zwangzug was your personal favourite? And I thought our announcer was an idiot...
Scianawski: And Twelve to Future-World. I guess we already have our winner, if the voting keeps going like this.
Niewienski: Well, next up we have Futre-World, and you can't give 12 points to your own country.
Scianawski: Well, let's see one to Zwangzug, two to "Wijaska Islands"
Niewienski: Five to "Valenska"... they're screwing a lot of countries up.
Scianawski: And twelve to Swilatia... yeah, we're surprised as well. This may be the only twelve we get this year. I just wonder how they would react if Band #1, told them in their fucked-up English, that it's not meant as a joke entry...
Niewienski: Well, it must be how they won the NF, otherwise we would have sent an actual swilatian band. Who no-one would understand.
Scianawski: And next up, the host country is voting... in Dutch... it's a good thing Iglesian Archipelago slready voted, because if they didn't, they would also join in on this fad.
Niewienski: And finally..Tokemost-Wereld? Right, Future-World. Yeah, they prolly have it clinched now... Let's see if Cafundeu doesn't do the same.
Scianawski: So, once again, they announce that Terreiro de Ogum is too lazy to write their own voting announcement and that we won't have one from them... so 23 votes, not 24. And one point to Bears Armed.
Niewienski: Well, at least these ones aren't joining in. Yeah, lets hope no other countries join in on this. Native languages don't work for songs, they won't work for voting.
Scianawski: Eight to Future-World. Not another twelve, but close. We thought we had a contest, but now it's just Future-World... and twelve to Qazox. So, let's see the standings, see just how far ahead Future-World has gotten.
Future-World 94 Terreiro de Ogum 24
The Holy Empire 84 Lurikastan 20
Rejistania 72 Nethertopia 20
Valeneska 70 Cafundeu 19
Qazox 50 Bears Armed 18
Swilatia 50 Cachette De Lions 18
Scotchpinestan 44 Iglesian Archipelago 18
Zwangzug 37 Esperantujo 2 17
Seven Castles 34 Wavispa 13
New Haustreland 32 Kemball Island 12
Wijaska Island 28 Galaxianda 8
Bazalonia 26 Kingsley Bedford 4
Scianawski: And, Future-World is at the top, with 94. The Holy Empire is 10 points behind, and Rejistania is pretty much out from it, Valeneska at the same point, just two points less. We're tied for fifth with Qazox, but we have no hope of winning. We already won twice anyway. And last place is Kingsley Bedford, still at just four points after all this voting.
Welcome every-one to Wavispa's voting announcement! Yeah, it was great show and wonderful show also, blah, blah, blah. Because I said so.
So, blah blah blah a bunch of countries we won't mention got zero. Most of them actually.
One points to Cafundeu... yeah, that sounds about good.
Two points to um... Galaxianda.
Three points to Bazalonia.
Four points to Qazox, or something.
Eperantujo the second to five points.
Next points to Wijaska Island.
Okay, it was what, seven points and seven points also goes to Scotchpinestan.
Eight points to Kingsley Bedford. Yes, them.
Nine points and Ten points. No, just ten actually, to Swilatia.
Twelve points to Nethertopia. Great show, but I alredy said that at the beiginning and in the future.
And the voting is done by Joana Taylor of the WMD. Actually, do I speak Egnish but what a WorldVision with no crappy announcers that no-one cand understand, and understand why they were chosen also.

Hello to you Nethertopia.
And here are the resultings of the Holy Empire Jury, coming towards you this year from the most high teaching faculty of the Carlos Stoquehowsenes Institute for Advanced Atonality.
Yes, and these here be the resultings.
We give one vote to Qazox and Mack and the Johnsons. We be liking the wailing guitar, but not the emphasis on the fighting.
We give two votes to Future World and The Spoons. The music is almost most good, but we not be liking the military emphasis or the pandering most shamelessly to home audience.
Three votes to Terreiro de Ogum and Mensageiros de Obalatá. The incorporation of chickens is good, but entry is being the far too musical.
Four votes go to Bears Armed and Landmother. We too wish to be doing the celebrating of the fuller-figured female ursine, but entry is again far too musical.
Five votes go to New Haustreland and Svartvladet. This is being the more like it, no? They are the third besting of the heavy metal acts this year.
Six votes go to home act Nethertopia and Pagans With Hats. While they are most musical, and therefore not adequately the avant garde, we are liking them, and are not pandering most shamelessly to home audience by giving them the many votes.
Seven votes go to Esperantujo 2 and La Kruroj. The experimental using of the farting and the plopping is exciting, but alas, song itself is highly excremental.
Eight votes got to Scotchpinestan and The Flying Foobars. While we not be liking the talented display of harmony and musicianshipness, we be liking the emphasis on peaceful political activism. Also, backing singers are hotly.
Ten points go to Wavispa and Wavecrash. Why other countries not be liking this song as much as us? Experimental playfullness with traditional concepts of song conclusion shows much energy and cleverfullness. We wanted them to stay on!
And finally.... the maximum points from the Holy Empire Jury from the Carlos Stoquehowseno Institute for Advanced Atonality go to...
Bazalonia and Irrational Fear.
This song is being the masterpiece! The avant garde atonal angst is miracle! We very much be liking this song! We wish to invite Irrational Fear to Holy Empire to be doing the composing of Metal Concerto for Band and Orchestra on this song! This is being the most exciting song of this year by far.
Thanking you, Nethertopia, these were the results of the Holy Empire Jury's votes.

ooc: Has anyone worked out how many nations have not voted?
Just seven countries... Bazalonia, Bears Armed, Galaxianda, Lurikastan, New Haustreland, Scotchpinestan, and Valeneska. There's also Terreiro de Ogum, but they said they weren't going to vote.

A trailer, for a forthcoming drama series, which will be set behind the stage at ‘Behrnum and Bahrlee’s Circus’ (“The Greatest Show on Earth”), finishes; the ‘WorldVision’ logo appears on the screen; and then that picture dissolves in turn, to reveal the programmes’ two hosts from Bears Armed — Urra Lightning and Alasbearr Thunder — sitting behind a desk in the studio.
“Well, Alasbearr, the juries here in Bears Armed have nearly finished voting on the results of this year’s competition: I wonder which of the songs they will favour?”
“Going by how juries here have voted in various previous contests, the Great Bear only knows, Urra… But, while we are waiting for them to reach that decision, let’s take another brief look at each of the entries…”
“Hokay. Firstly, we have Quentin Impero from ‘Galaxianda’ with ‘Walking in Dallas’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Alasbearr:]“A nice tune, in a graysy style, with interesting lyrics…”.
[Alasbearr:]“And next, we have Kayta Verbaijean from ‘Kingsley Bedford’ with ‘Maj Ari’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Urra:]“Only a short song, with simple-sounding lyrics… but sung in a language that I didn’t recognise: Could this have been in the ‘Spanish’ tongue to which a song in the previous contest was wrongly attributed by one nation’s commentators, I wonder? And will our jury’s respect for its singer’s culture-pride, which was also presumably the reason for her choice of costume, outweigh the fact that none of them could understand a word of it?”
[Urra:]“And next, we have Princess Laska from ‘Wijaska Island’ with ‘La, La , La’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Alasbearr:]“A simple ‘pop’ song, which might mean more to humans than it does to most of our people…”
[Alasbearr:]“And next, we have Carlos Pompeia from the ‘Iglesian Archipelago’ with ‘Palacio dos Encantos’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Urra:]“Sung in Portuguese — which I’ve been informed isn’t the same thing as ‘Spanish’ — and with a very melodious tune. I wouldn’t be too surprised if this received a point or two from our voters, even though they can’t understand its language.”
[Urra:]“And next, we have Gabriel Maia from ‘Seven Castles’ with ‘Poesia, Querida Poesia’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Alasbearr:]“And another nice melody, again with Portuguese lyrics: What more can I say?”
[Alasbearr:]“And next, we have Fredrick Albertson and the Sexy Shoremen from ‘Lurikastan’ with ‘Sunnydale Rock’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Urra:]“Another fairly basic ‘pop’ song, although this time in English rather than any language that I don’t know: Maybe a point or two? It’s fairly unlikely to win more than that, here, I think.”
[Urra:]“And next, we have Mack and the Johnsons from ‘Qazox’ with ‘Brawling’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Alasbearr:]“Loud and — well — louder. Another set of English lyrics, this time about a male avenging the death of his mate and their cub. If enough members of our jury found the style of music reasonably tolerable then this might do well…”.
[Alasbearr:]“And next, we have Starwide from ‘Valeneska’ with ‘A Distant Light’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Urra:]“A rather philosophical song, that may have gone down well amongst the more spiritually-minded members of our nation’s juries…”
[Urra:]“And next, we have Pagans With Hats from ‘Nethertopia’, this contest’s host-nation, with ‘Rosanne’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Alasbearr:]“A love-song, with English lyrics and a very nice tune: I think that this one definitely has potential.”
[Alasbearr:]“And next, we have Irrational Fear from ‘Bazalonia’ with ‘Send Up The Clowns’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Urra:]“Ugggh! Too loud, too tuneless, and it seems to be about killing clowns! Why? I [u]like clowns…”
[Alasbearr:]“Well, the band is called ‘Irrational Fear’...”
“And next, we have ‘ThunderHammer’ from ‘The Holy Empire’ with ‘Cities of Flame and Fire by Night’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Alasbearr:]“More loudness, but definitely more tuneful than several of the other songs that we’d heard by that stage… and the lyrics weren’t too bad, either. What I really bathos[/b] at the end when they all fell down in such a way as to show how meaningless that sort of triumphalism actually is.”
[Alasbearr:]“And next, we have Stuart Sanden’s Moderately Sized Ensemble from ‘Zwangzug’ with ‘Never Had Nothin’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Urra:]“A song in English, a love-song — which might get it some extra votes from the juries’ female members — and the music was pretty good too. I like the fact that this wasn’t just yet another guitar-&-drums group.”
[Urra:]“And next, we have Wavecrash from ‘Wavispa’ with ‘Falling’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Alasbearr:]“Sigh... What is it with that nation, why can’t they find anybody who actually wants to compete [u]and can put on a decent show?”
[Alasbearr:]“And next, we have Mensageiros de Oblata from ‘Tierrero de Ogum’ with ‘Iemanja’s Ritual Choir’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
“A decent tune, anyway, but it’s another of their religious songs and so I suspect our voters will either love or loathe it — with no middle ground — for that reason…”
[Urra:]“And next, we have Erik Stock Market from ‘Cafundeu’ with ‘My CEO’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Alasbearr:]“Just another ‘pop’ song, in English at least but what on Earth was it about? What’s a ‘CEO’?”
[Alasbearr:]“And next, we have Betty from ‘Cachette de Lions’, the only other IDU member-nation that’s participating in WorldVision this year, with ‘No More Time To Cry’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Urra:]“Yet another fairly standard ‘pop’ song, but one of the better ones of those with which we’ve been presented during this contest.”
[Urra:]“And next, we have ‘The Spoons’ from ‘Future-World’ with ‘The Good ol’ days (NOT)’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Alasbearr:]“Well, considering how ‘traditional’ our people tend to be, I doubt whether that will get many votes from our jury…”
[Alasbearr:]“And next, we have Svartvladet from ‘New Haustreland’[i] with [i]‘Dogmantra’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Urra:]“Theological rock? Hr’rmm? [i]That stands a chance here, I suppose.”
[Urra:]“And next, we have The Flying Foobars from ‘Scotchpinestan’ with ‘Use Your Energy’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Alasbearr:]“Inspiring, just... inspiring”.
[Alasbearr:]“And next, we have The Jedi from ‘Kemball Island’ with ‘You’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Urra:]“Another love-song, short lyrics but to the point... Who knows?.”
[Urra:]“And next, we have Band #1 from ‘Swilatia’ with ‘You Lied’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Alasbearr:]“The music, so-so; the lyrics, so-so; the performance, so-so: the votes… probably not many.”
[Alasbearr:]“And next, we have La Kruroj from ‘Esperantujo 2’ with a song whose title I can’t pronounce...“ (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Urra:]“Why, oh why, do so many apes have this fascination with excrement? Still, I suppose we should just be glad that they didn’t start throwing any of theirs around the hall…”
[Urra:]“And finally, we have Kuru Kuru from ‘Rejistania’ with ‘Tekne Taren’.” (We are shown a short excerpt from this performance…)
[Alasbearr:]“I suppose that that’s an example of their native language. Well, it certainly sounded very nice...”.
Another male Ursine walks on-screen, hands Alasbearr a sheet of paper, and walk off again. Alasbearr places thar page so that Urra can see it too, and they speak in unison:
“The juries here in ‘Bears Armed’ have voted, and here are the results _"
“Cachette de Lions, with ‘No More Time To Cry’ by ‘Betty’, one points;
Zwangzug, with ‘Never Had Nothin’ by ‘Stuart Sanden’s Moderately Sized Ensemble’, two points;
(OOC: Sorry, Zwanzug, I expected this song to do better but apparently most of the voters who liked it liked Nethertopia’s entry even more…)
Seven Castles, with ‘Poesia, Querida Poesia’ by Gabriel Maia, three points;
Terreiro de Ogum, with ‘Iemanja’s Ritual Choir’ by ‘Mensageiros de Oblata’, four points;
Qazox, with ‘Brawling’ by ‘Mack and the Johnsons’, five points;
(OOC: This was another song that I thought might have done better, but apparently most of those voters who liked at all still preferred The Holy Empire’s entry instead…)
Rejistania, with ‘Tekne Taren’ by ‘Kuru Kuru’, six points;
Valenseka, with ‘A Distant Light’ by ‘Starwide’, seven points;
Nethertopia, with ‘Rosanne’ by ‘Pagans With Hats’, eight points;
Scotchpinestan, with ‘Use Your Energy’ by ‘The Flying Foobars’, eight-plus-two points;
[u]and
The Holy Empire, with ‘Cities of Flame and Fire by Night’ by ‘ThunderHammer’, eight-plus-four points.
And that concludes the results from the Bears Armed jury.”

"...and here we are backstage at a hard-rocking WorldVision 8, Basil, where the Scotchpinestan results take the Holy Empire into first place for the first time tonight; they're now leading Future World by the tight margin of four points: 108 to 104."
<camera pans green room - the various acts wave their national flags as cheerily and as cheesily as possible. Except for Terreiro de Ogum, who wave a recently-sacrificed headless chicken carcass, splattering blood over Landmother and Pagans with Hats.>
"It's all very exciting, Theo, and contrary to media reports from Kingsley Bedford, either of the two metalriffic top two vote getters could go on to win. We're still expecting results from Bazalonia, Galaxianda, Lurikastan, New Haustreland, and Valeneska - though word from the hosts is that they're not really expecting a vote from the apparently disinterested Galaxiandians."
"I'm going to interrupt, Basil, because I've managed to find Thunderhammer!"
"HELLO DREAMED REALM!"
"YEAH, WE'RE RRRRRROCKING ORDINARY REALITY!"
"How are you doing lads? How are you enjoying WorldVision?"
"IT ROCKS!"
"Yeah, we've been having a drink with the guys from the Spoons and Irrational Fear - and THEY ROCK!"
"And the Flying Foobars backing singers are HOT! THEY ROCK!"
"So does Nethertopia - though the static unchanging linear reality thing gets a bit boring."
"And are your backing singers OK after that little end of show accident?"
"Few broken limbs and sprains, but THEY ROCK!!!"
"Yeah, they should be fine once we get back home."
"And who do you think's going to win WorldVision 8?"
"WE ARE!!!!!"
"Yeah, the Spoons rock - BUT WE ROCK HARDER!!!!!!"
"Thank you, Thunderhammer! Well, they're excited, they're confident, and they rock - apparently. And now back to the studio."

SBC 3 WorldVision Coverage
Niewienski: And, the next country to give their votes is Wavispa. And it's Wavispa's WorldVision 5 singer, Joana Taylor, so we'll get to mock her a bit, even though we weren't here for her song.
Scianawski: Best not to look at it that way, she might make some crappy song out of her voting. Although it would prolly still be better then any recent Wavispa entry. Falling or Rock Princess.
Niewienski: No, forget that, she has enough trouble with the voting as it is. One to Cafundeu doesn't sound "about good". It sounds terrible.
Scianawski: It certainly sounds better then 12 points to Cafundeu. She's just making these up in her head anyway.
Niewienksi: Well, that's the obvious part. That's what all jury votes are. Besides, who in their right mind would give that many points to Esperantujo 2?
Scianawski: Well, we can't expect much, it's a Wavispa entry! She can't even do Engrish right. Or remember how many points she's giving to eache country.
Niewienski: Eight points to Kingsley Bedford. Finally, Wavispa does something right. Not because Kinglsey Bedofrd is any good, but because Galaxianda is now last. Though Kingsley Bedford cound be there too. Or most of the songs, really.
Scianawski: And twelve to... Nethertopia? She must have forgotten all the country names, so look, the Contest says "WorldVision 8 Nethertopia", are they in it?
Niewienski: And, she admits she can speak better English. And Egnish, whatever the hell that is. And yes, all thanks to you, A WorldVision which no-one can understand, and I don't feel like talking like a bootleg cartoons salesman today. Next, The Holy Empire.
Scianawski: This is another jury vote, and done by some stupid academy, so we'll have really fucked up "resultings". did Borat go to school here?
Niewienksi: one to Qazox. next...
Scianawski: We like this but not this... wouldn't that make a six pointer?
Niewienski: Not in this massive oversize load of a WorldVision. 24 countries, and in the time it took for every-one to perform, we had our winner, no we were the winners last year.
Scianawski: And three to Terreiro de Ogum. But since they were the most boring entry this year, everything must "Being the far too musical" for them.
Niewienski: Four points to Bears Armed. "Being the far too musical" Yeah, this is going to be the longest voting announcement. I think they'll like Professor Blenkinsop.
Scianawski: WorldVision 5 was fucking years ago. Let's move on now, we still have 7 more countries to vote, and we're supposed to cover what they're saying, not talk about other stuff as they vote.
Niewiesnki: Well, where are they now... Eight points... Scotchpinestan. "Being the far"... wait, no, they're still saying it, but different-like, so they're saying it and not saying it. Whatever. Don't wanna sound like one of them...
Scianawski: Ten to Wavispa. So that's the only thing that's not too musical for them. "We wanted them to"... it's a conspiracy!!
Niewienski: And twelve to Bazalonia. Because the only thing worse then music is clowns to them. Every-one hats hates clowns.
Scianawski: And next is Bears Armed. But first a commercial break.
-- adverts are shown for Swilatian ir Company, Cute Bunny Burgers, and Tanie Linie Kolejowe --
Niewienski: So, we're technically a bit in, in case you wanted to see what was going on before, you could have switched to SBC 4. But most likely, you dodn't want to know, because their ratings dropped during those few minutes. Basically, Bears Armed were being idiots, they said they liked clowns, and they thought Kingsley Bedford was singing in Spanish. No, bears Armed, that was Iglesian Archipelago. And Seven Castles.
Scianawski: Well, i guess it will be their turn to get yelled at by an Angry Kingsley Bedford person. And i would love to see them get it. So, if there are any "urisnes" watching right now, IT'S NOT SPANISH IT'S KINGFORDIAN!!
Niewienski: Okay, and it starts off, not counting what we slapped a commercial break on, one point to Cachette de Lions. Knowing them, shouldn't it be eight-minus-seven points?
Scianawski: Zwangzug, eight-minus-six points. Yeah, I could see the saying that. What about the actual eight point vote though?
Niewienski: Eight-times-one points? No, i think they'll just say eight, they've been doing it normally so far...
Scianawski: We haven't gotten past eight yet though. i can tell they won't say ten, it's like, against their religion or something.
Niewienski: Okay, ten, sorry, eight-plus-two, to Scotchpinestan. Yeah, they'll never say ten. but what's up with eight plus two? Why can't it be, say, seven-plus-three? or nine-plus-one? or dziesięć?
Scianawski: Not that many people speak Polish. It's only here in Swilatia. And not all of us even. And Eight-plus-two-minus-four-plus-six-yeah-i-know-this-is-stupid points goes to the Holy Empire. I guess it might not be Future-World after all.
Niewienski: Or it's just a "traditional" country refusing to take the message of the song. We'll see what they'll be like when Future-World will finally win the contest. Or who will Scotchpinestan vote for?
Scianawski: And this one seems rather straight forward, at least after Joana Taylor, Borat, and Bears Armed. Wait, no, we have another WorldVision 5 singer.
Niewienski: Well, it's still simple, One to Valeneska. Simple as that. No eight-minus-seven, no "far too musical"
Scianawski: No more stinkin' fun at all. Yeah. let's just get through this and see who gets twelve points and wins the contest.
Niewienski: We'll be through it soon enough, believe me. Future-World eight, so yeah, they will win.
Scianawski: And twelve to The Holy Empire. i guess they have the lead now, it sucks having a race to cover, 'cause I can't leave early. It really must be a mess back there, and the standings...
The Holy Empire 108 Seven Castles 37
Future-World 104 Terreiro de Ogum 31
Rejistania 78 Cachette De Lions 29
Valeneska 78 Esperantujo 2 29
Scotchpinestan 69 Bears Armed 27
Qazox 67 Cafundeu 23
Swilatia 60 Wavispa 23
Nethertopia 52 Iglesian Archipelago 20
Bazalonia 41 Lurikastan 20
Zwangzug 39 Kemball Island 12
Wijaska Island 38 Kingsley Bedford 12
New Haustreland 37 Galaxianda 10
Scianawski: And Future-Worldd isn't in the lead anymore, Now it's the Holy empire, Future-World is 4 points behind, so either one might win. Rejistania and Valeneska are tied for third, and a few countries are tied for a few other positions. Kingley Bedford isn't in last place anymore, now it's Galaxianda stuck down there.

Georgi: Hello, Elena I'm with our entrant Katya Verbaijean in the greenroom
Georgi: Katya how are you doing?
Katya: Fine thank you, I'm disapointed we won't win of course, but maybe next time Kingsley Bedford might win.
Georgi: And Katya, who do you predict will win tonight?
Katya: I would've voted for The Holy Empire.
Georgi: Well thank you Katya, but we need to go back to our voting, so those countries that havn't voted yet, bring it on!!!!

"Lurikastan will finally vote, and to make it a hassle free process we will give everyone 0's except for Us, who we give the max score!"
Marty Sands: And that was the quote that might of made the night
Jim Pox: Mmhmm, an Interesting approach that has left many stunned, and speechless.

WorldVision 8, and Word is back, and do the Valeneska voting
I don't wanna win, I just wanna vote, something else, check this.

How long, when they fix a vote, and we get to vote

"And here are the Bazalonian votes..."
The screen went down the, studio that broadcasted had a sudden power-outage. It was quite hard to understand exactly why but it caused a bitr of dramatic tension and delayed the announcement of the Bazalonian votes by quite a bit in the end. A simple announcement was posted online..
12 - Bears Armed
10 - Lurikastan
8 - Wavispa
7 - Zwangzug
6 - Swilatia
5 - Seve Castles
4 - Future-world

Staff in the BABC's studio are rubbing their stomachs in disbelief.
"Some Human nation gave 12 points to that song?!?"
"Hr'rmm, maybe they got their list the wrong way around?"
(Thank you! :))

Well then We with-draw our vote for our self, but keep the others intact. Also it is equally as ridiculous that you remove us for exercising our votes how we choose.

It's not ridiculous; you're breaking the rules by not voting in the manner stated.

You need to abide by the rules Lurikastan, it is also clear that the only formula of voting allowed is that used in Eurovision. And in that format, you cannot vote for your own country.

They're all right, Lurikastan! And this is what I'll say to all: YOU CAN'T VOTE ON YOURSELF!

In other words:
You vote for no one as everyone but you got nil points from your nation.

Can they vote please!
And when does WorldVision 9 start
I'm hoping I don't have to wait a year. Does it just start when the other finishes?

Usually it's a couple of weeks after the conclusion of the previous one.
(and Nethertopia, it's been long enough, IMHO)

Pretty much. There still needs some time to sign up and select songs, but other then that, they're right after each other.
I'm suprised I haven't opened the signups for WorldVision 9 yet,

So, the contest is over, wll, allmost over, ad we're in a nice *twelth place*. This is unacceptible, why do we always do so bad in the contest.
Well, there's still two votes left...
Two votes? That's not going to win us the contest.
Well, maybe we should actually send a decent entry...
We tried that, she didn't want to sing. Every-one was angry with us, and we got last place. Last place. So we realise Wijiskan Music is so bad, so we send a Swilatian singer instead. But that doesn't get us anywhere... This contest is stupid. We're done.
But we've already signed up for the next one... we need to do something there...
Well, then we let some-one else decide. I don't care. I don't think any-one in Wijaska cares.

VOTINGS ARE OVER
"Future-World wins WorldVision 8! Congratulations!"
The crowd went wild as Future-World were declared the winners of a desperately close WorldVision that had been decided by the very last results....
The spotlights went on as everyone waited for The Spoons to appear on the OMEN stage and claim their prize.
Except nothing happened.
And then nothing happened.
A man coughed.
A cricket chirped.
"I said, "Future-World wins WorldVision 8! Congratulations!"
And then three large, burly men wearing slightly-singed moose antlers bounded on stage....
"THANK YOU NETHERTOPIA!!!!!! THANK YOU WORLDVISION!!!!"
"THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR VOTING ₮hünderhaɱɱeƦ THE WINNERS OF WORLDVISION"
"But you didn't win..."
"YES!!!! THIS IS A FANTASTIC HONOUR!!!!"
"Will you please get off the stage!"
"YES, THOSE CRAZY GUYS FROM THE SPOONS WANTED TO BE HERE WITH YOU, BUT THEY DECIDED THAT WE WERE ROBBED, AND THAT WE DESERVED TO WIN, AND WELL, HERE WE ARE - THREE HARD-ROCKING CRAZY GUYS WHO LIKE TO SHOUT A LOT!!!!"
"Will someone please call security?"
"YEAH, THE SPOONS ROCK, BUT WE ROCK HARDER!!!!!!"
"What's that? A situation in the backstage toilets? What sort of situation?"
"HA, HA, HA!!!! YES, THOSE SPOONS ARE CRAZZZEEEE GUYS, BUT WE DIDN'T LOCK THEM UP IN THE BACKSTAGE TOILET OR ANYTHING."
"Well, untie them, dammit, and get them up here. Now."
"NO, WE WOULDN'T RESORT TO STUPID UNDERHAND TACTICS LIKE THAT!!!! WE'RE HERE BECAUSE WE ROCK, AND BECAUSE WE WON!!!! NOW WHO WANTS TO HEAR OUR SONG!!!!!"
"ARE YOU READY TO ROCK, NETHERTOPIA - AGAIN?"
Bob gets as far as the second drumroll and Thor and Odin get as far as their first crunchy chord before all hell breaks loose.
Nethertopian security run on stage, chasing various bikini-lad lovelies still injured from Thunderhammer's first performance, and all with some combination of bandages, crutches and slings; two are in wheelchairs.
The Spoons suddenly appear, clutching their instruments, and pushing their way on to the stage.
Thunderhammer keep playing - or trying to.
The hosts try and push Thunderhammer off stage.
Security starts grappling with the women.
Suddenly, an Eastern Orthodox monk appears from nowhere in the middle of the stage, rapidly seems to unfold a door that itself seems to lead nowhere, and the women (who've temporarily escaped from security), Thunderhammer and the monk all run through it before the door disappears as suddenly as the monk appeared.
Chaos briefly reigns, but at least The Spoons can now be given the trophy they so thoroughly deserved to win....

Niewienski: And we've just 5 more countries to vote. Next up, Lurikastan.
Scianawski: Well, you'll finally vote... and, does this mean, twelve points to Lurikastan?
Niewienski: No, they proolly don't ven know the WorldVision voting process. You can't give votes to your own country. At least they're out of the ways though.
Scianawski: But will they be counted... Valeneska is next... it's Word, now that shouldn't be counted.
Niewienski: Yeah, Word... voting? And making a song out of it too.
Scianawski: Sometimes, people make a vote... tis sound similar to another of is songs. now stop singing.
Niewienski: We're not the only ones...
Scianawski: Who... where... what else... yeah It's good they have some-one to shut Word up, if only they had this last year... and the voting...
Niewienski: We'll get to the end of this. 1 to Seven Castles...
Scianawski: Well, what do you think the televoting results will be like?
Niewienski: The same prolly. Or maybe like Swilatia or Wijaska... but now there's more shit to chose from.
Scianawski: Well, aside fromseven castles... and Kemball Island... and Wavispa... this is just like a televoting country. Same really. And the twelve... will that be a televoting 12 or a jury 12?
Niewienski: Future-World. The winner. This might have been a televote, they just didn't want word to read it. or sing it. or yee it. Next up, Bazalonia.
Scianawski: And here are the Bazalonian... yo're not voting? I guess the contest is over, congrats to Future-World.
Niewienski: Well, i don't see Future-World getting any trophy... okay, 12 to Bears Armed, and other stuff. And we're out of time, so the other two countries won't be voting, for the first time we can actually thank Bears Armed for something. And so can Future-World.
Scianawski: So, now, the results. Damn, this is a long one. 24th, Galaxianda. Average song, average last place. 23rd, Kingsley Bedford, bork bork bork. 22nd, Jedi wannabes. 21st, Iglesian Archipelago.
Niewienski: 20th, I want a promotion. 18th, Can a bear fly? Also 18th, Sachette De Lions. 17th, Sunny-fuckin'-dale
Scianawski: 16th, Terreiro de Ogum. 15th, The absence of... not sure what. 14th, Let's see how long we can go without being kicked off the stage. 38 points, apparently. 13th, Fat Bottommed She-Bears. The title sounds weird enough.
Niewienski: Twelth, Princess La La La. Eleventh, Clowns must die. Tenth, Iglesian Archipelago. But this time it's Seven Castles. Ninth, Zwangzug.
Scianawski: Eighth, Our host country. Seventh, Qazox. Sixth, Use the Energy... i don't get it Either. Fifth, us. We didn't expect to win though, so we did fine.
Niewienski: And now, our top 4. We're sopposed to congratulate these countries, but we'll see if we really should. Fourth, Something about light, or something, I'm not sure. Third, Rejistania. Second, The Arockalypse. And, our winner this year is... Future-World. Though you prolly already knew that.
Scianawski: It could have just as easily been The Holy Empire though, if the other two countries voted the right way. But it wasn't Thanks, Bears Armed, from us. And prolly from Future-World as well.

John: Well... that was an interesting situation, apparently the Holy Empire fellas locked the Spoons up in the bathrooms and tried to claim the trophy for themselves, luckily everything got sorted out and...
Simon: John... get off me!
John: Well, anyway, I'd like to thank all the other nations for good performances and...
Simon: Get off me, I'm going to strangle them with my bare hands!
John: And I am assured the President does the same, as soon as he has calmed down. Well I can tell you that the band is okay and unharmed, apparently they actually enjoyed being locked up there as they 'hadn't slept for forty-two hours' since they spent all that time hiding in President Goodyear's luggage, well isn't that just...
Simon: John, let me go I am calm now.
John: ... I heard that the Holy Empire's leader has decided to fully support the band's behaviour.
Simon: What? I'm going to take his...!
John: You're not calm
Simon: Cheap trick...
John: Well, see you all next year, Future-World over and out!

A widely criticised song at WSC7 even wins more points than a more "benefited" song at WSC8... isn't it?
Yay went from 10th to 6th so look out 2nd place at WV9!

Well, congratulations to Future-World on a well deserved victory, and 18th at our first entry with a controversial song wasn't a bad result.
There's been a lot on interest in the contest here, and acts (not just people as I'll explain later) are already lining up for next time. Expressing interest already are the folk group Kontrauxrauxmistoj, the Pastafarrian Tabernacle Choir, and President Aleksandra Kuiristo herself. That isn't all; according to the School Students Union, the friendly monkeys want to enter. I mean, surely they don't have television in their jungle. Well, I wouldn't be surprised if the Charmuloj don't have a go as well.
