Official Diplomatic Message from the President of the United States of Allanea to the Federated Democratic States of Xanthal

My dear friends!

Long ago, Xanthal and Allanea had been allies, members of the great Extra-Solar Union of Systems. Though Allanea remains a member of that great and wonderful alliance, the Xanthalians have chosen – for reasons that are frankly their own – to depart the Union. That saddens me, but I understand that the Xanthalians are not likely to return to the alliance.

Still, we would like to re-tie the knot with our friends, so to speak – to restore and improve our relations with the Xanthalians. As the President-for-Life, I perform two roles in Allanea – as the Commander-in-Chief and Diplomat-in-Chief, I am in charge of all negotiations with foreign governments.

I extend an invitation for you to meet me at the Heroes' Hall, in my palace in Liberty-City? I suggest coming at noon, for a more formal event.

Please send an official that is empowered to negotiate treaties.

The Triumvirate is pleased to resume diplomatic relations with the United States of Allanea, and we are prepared to offer an embassy exchange under the provisions of World Assembly law. Unfortunately, this is not an optimal time for us to negotiate treaties with your country, as it may interfere with other, ongoing international engagements. However, if you wish, we will be pleased to dispatch a representative to meet with you to assess our countries' mutual interests and discuss avenues of cooperation and exchange that can be pursued under existing policy.

A period of time later, after the necessary appointments had been made, planning done, and logistics arranged, Ambassador Samuel Finney arrived at the President's palace in Liberty-City, Allanea. He was a simple man; a lifelong civil servant with a wife and three children back home in Trasnia. Knocking on the door of his fifties, he was still fit and energetic. 174 centimeters tall, Caucasian, with short brown hair tinted slightly red and a well-fitted ambassador's uniform. Though not particularly well-known within the diplomatic corps, he was a competent representative with a special knack for these kinds of assignments, where there wasn't a great deal at stake or any particular goal that had to be reached. He enjoyed meeting leaders and foreign citizens, answering their questions, and making arrangements as they came up. It would still be several months before the Xanthalian embassy was ready to set up shop in the United States, so he considered himself responsible for making a good first impression and paving the way for a positive relationship between the consulate and the Allanean authorities.
