Welcome to The NationStates World Air Racing Championships™, where the best flyers come to the host's nominated airfield and do daring fights and flights in the world's most air-born championship ever to take off.
These are the restrictions:
1. Flying crew must have at least a year's experience.
2. No National Air Force crew permitted. Retired flying crewmen are O.K, though.
3. Entrants must be over 20.
4. All crew must be male, except the flyer. They can be either gender
5. All WA members in the competition (except me) must attend a press conference, which will come later in the form of a thread
And there will be judges...
Anne Barbary
Alan Eridge
Ghigo Macholini
And a watch-ring, where you can see all the action from above where the flights are taking place! There will also be a hot-dog salesman in the winning airfield.
And a picnic site, where you can have a picnic while watching the daring action!
All entrants will be recorded on The WARC Signup Charter™...
Squad Sign-Ins (8/??)
Questille
Galaxianda
Iglesian Archipelago
Peisandros
kenavt
Taeshan
Los Plasmos

We will join this tournament.

Purely out of curiosity, what's so special about WA members? What if a WA member refuses to attend?
Iglesian Archipelago

Iglesian Archipelago signs up.

What kind of air racing? Is it the epic Red Bull kind? 'Cause I'm down for that.

Red Bull.

They lose 2 championship points.

They lose 2 championship points.
That's ridiculous. You also failed to answer the other part of Kelssek's question.
And how will you be generating results? How will RP bonus affect the results, if at all?
I would be interested in such a competition, once the questions aimed at Questille are answered.

OOC: O.K. You don't have to, but it just could give you a slight disadvantage.
WARC News Update
Rick Jarvis, the chairman of the WARC, stepped down from his chairmanship yesterday. The vice-chairman, Ian Gahga, is now Chairman of the commitee.
There is a thin hope of survival for Sam Liaves (QUE), as he crashed his MZ-93 aeroplane early this morning.
Joe and Johnny, Questille's leading comedy duo, have accepted an invitation to perform at the opening ceremony.
.::CRUCIAL, MUST READ::. Mascots are only permitted as animals.
Next news update: January 26th 2009

Well, it's like the World Cup, for instance. The Squad Thread is basically the RP thread.

You've missed my point. Answer the questions, please. How will you be generating scores? What effect will RP bonus have, if any?
There's no need to interrogate the poor guy, LE, but I really want to know why there's such a strange requirement just for being in the WA. What on earth does that have to do with anything?
Los Plasmos
20-01-2009, 09:17
Los Plasmos will enter it's first competition.
Sapphiriandia
20-01-2009, 09:18
So will Sapphiriandia.

O.K. As soon as we get to 10 signups, all WA members who wish to do so can attend the WA Conference, and non-WA contenders can attend the Rouge Nation's Conference

Galaxinda, or wait it's Questille now.... how many puppets do you plan on entering into the competition? Pretty ironic that two unfamiliar nations to competitions would sign up at a normally dead hour of the night within minutes of each other while you are also shown as being online?
The thing is, if I had confidence in the way this would be run (which I do not) this could be the kind of thing that I would enter. But when I see a host putting puppets in here left and right (please don't waste your or my time denying this), how can I have any confidence that a competition would be played out fairly?

O.K. No more puppets.

Aww man. Newmanistan! You had to be all wise and stuff.
RP Red Bull Air Racing would be intense. Shame this isn't going to exactl work.

Oh, I see.
This is Galaxianda pretending to be someone else in order to try and gloss over the number of poorly thought-out unsuccessful tournament start-ups he had as Galaxianda, and therefore increase the chance that he'll get sign-ups to this latest efforts.
And he's then trying to create an artificial buzz around the tournament by signing up an as yet undetermined number of puppets.
As I've noted in previous threads of Galaxianda's, I applaud his enthusiasm, and hope he won't be discouraged by his high number of failures so far, but I also think it would behoove him to participate more actively in a couple of established sports RPs, and to perhaps co-host one of those RPs, in order to gain some broader experience. Otherwise, these interesting - but regrettably poorly thought out - events he keeps trying to start are almost certainly doomed to fail.
What next? The NS bog-snorkolling championships? The NS cheese-rolling event? The NS wife-carrying olympics?

O.K. Although there are only 8 signups, I'm starting the WARCRNC (World Air Racing Championship Rouge Nations Conference) for all the non-WA signups.

WRONG. I have a different e-mail... He told me his. So, ha!

WRONG. I have a different e-mail... He told me his. So, ha!
If that's the case, then I apologise (though you do know that using another nation's account is a reportable offence in some circumstances, right?).
But my basic point still stands:
I applaud your enthusiasm, and hope you won't be discouraged by the negative reaction so far, but I also think it would behoove you to participate more actively in a couple of established sports RPs, and to perhaps co-host one of those RPs, in order to gain some broader experience. Otherwise, the sort of interesting - but regrettably poorly thought out - event you're trying to start here are almost certainly doomed to fail.
But if you prove me wrong, more power to you.

Governmentation will enter as the only puppet to Questille.
