It was a sad start for the second incarnation of Blue Wave's tour, as they started with scores lower than their previous debut into the International Drum and Bugle Corps. The first stop for the Corps was within the nation of Myedvedeya were either fate or insult landed them against the best of last years Corps, minus their rivals, the Silver Knights. As known, the Silver Knights came into the tour last year, and shocked one any many with their time and time again upsets, with an overall fourth finish matching up time and time again with various nations, namely Bluth Corporation's resident Drum and Bugle Corps. Blue Wave, with high expectations to attempt to at least met par with their domestic rival, fell flat.

When entering the field, on the slightly and oddly chilly evening, with one of the opening shows of the night; falling flat on their faces. The color guard could make the big saber catch during the last movement, and the trumpets overpowered the rest of the Bugles. Along with all of that, the Drumline found themselves fighting for control of the tempo against the Drum Major. In the end, the Corps Executive Director, Stephen Alia, entered the directors booth for the manila folder containing the scores and left with them overshadowing this face. Two unscheduled practices were established after the showcase of the various corps, most noting the poor performance of the Allician Domestic Corps, as they attempt to come from behind, in similar fashion as their rivals throughout the year.

Five highlights so far from tour V:

1. A Taeshan tie for sideline percussion on the first competition night, the second caption-award tie in AIDBCA history. Shadow Runners' drummers were more impressive moving around on Solzhenitsyn Field, but the corps still finished last.
2. Meanwhile, however, the other sideline percussion award wasn't up for dispute. Live Wires (last seen and/or heard in the first edition) celebrated their return to the big time by taking the first of four consecutive awards in that category, despite never managing to finish higher than fifth.
3. Haydensky earned Zwangzug's first metal of the tour at home in Elapinta. Hallowed Ground's rendition of "Malaguena" continued the Hispanic theme and thrilled the crowd, though their compatriot Brigadiers were predictably dominant.
4. Diversifying the color scheme a bit, Haydensky took bronze at their next competition, and prevented Legion of the Red Shield from sweeping the caption awards by winning the Auxiliary prize.
...All right, second-placed The Element could have done so too. Just go with it.
5. Aaaaand Brigadiers are still the best, by far. It's as if we never had the hiatus.

Oh Failure. How thou has cursed me with thine blessing...

A phrase now carried by the various members of the Blue Wave Drum and Bugle Corps as they fail not only to ascertain any level of caption award, and far shy from any hopes of any measure of a medal. With their continuing decline, the Alliance Star Confederation as a whole began to not only disregard the Corps, but the entire season as a whole in similar fashion as one does to the Detroit Lions. Major television networks already pulled out for other venues to fill the timeslot, however the pair of shows that were in the Alliance Star Confederation, would still be moderately broadcast on a regional level.

((OoC: So, in other words. Working on my next season and pulling Blue Wave from AIDBCA. They just can't cut it. D=

Take five, take two:

1. The fifth night of performances, in which Zwangzug corps managed...not a great deal. That said, Khlysty's best individual bugle performance was that of Haydensky, with great dynamic control and crisp tempo changes during the closer and strong staccatos during a middle song that...doesn't really sound like a middle song, but what do you do?
2. Zwangzug hosted both shows on the sixth night. Live Wires and Shadow Runners finished last and penultimate respectively in Canbix, where the big news was that Brigadiers only got silver.
3. Farther east, however, Haydensky were cleaning up. They took caption awards not just in auxiliary and sideline percussion, where the chimes finally excelled like they were supposed to, but in bugles. A well-earned gold medal there.
4. And then they blew away the field (literally) with another bugle caption award. When did they get good at the whole musicality thing? Who really cares?
5. Live Wires' home show saw them finish fifth. "Firebird" fans from the southwest found their way to Frischberg, where Brigadiers took silver again.

Third verse, same (format) as the first. And the second, of course.

1. Haydensky won three more caption awards in bugles, and it's no longer laugh-out-loud funny. "Took you long enough to catch on," commented an exhausted baritone player.
2. Live Wires came fourth on the eighth night, their highest finish in the tour overall, while Haydensky earned another caption award for auxiliary. They'd take two more medals overall.
3. A four-way tie among the medalless corps saw Live Wires advance with the highest cumulative score.
4. They were promptly eliminated in the quarterfinals, and probably deserved to be.
5. Haydensky weren't, and didn't, but cut it a little close with the marching and maneuvering, historically their strongest caption. Close was exactly how a quad player didn't cut it turning a corner in the opener, almost hitting a nearby snare. The corps' individual marching score was dead last among the quarterfinalists--not the performance anyone's looking for at this time of year.

Wow for the first time ever a new third team will make instead of the Fadron Gang who have never not been in it since the second one, and they are former winners, wow they have slipped

Five noteworthy notes from Haydensky's semifinal elimination:

1. Nobody collided with each other.
2. Nobody even came close to colliding with each other.
3. The marchers took it way too cautiously, bordering on paranoia, and never really got into it with as much emotion as they needed. The cure was worse than the disease, and the individual score the worst since competition night seven.
4. Everybody was doing it, though, so the ensemble score wasn't bad at all.
5. Awesome bugles.

41st Regiment Siberians sneak into Final:

The 41st regiment Siberian Corps, Myedvedeya's premier drum and bugle corps, barely qualified for the AIDBCA World Tour V final yesterday, clinching the final spot with a 6th place finish. The Siberians have been Myedvedeya's most successful Corps at the tournament, with multiple medals, although no gold, as of yet. The Siberian Corps are affiliated with the Myedvedeyan Army, performing many shows in concert with Myedvedeyan Army bands, and marching with the troops on many occasions. At tonight's final, they will continue with their repertoire of classical Myedvedeyan Music, including marching songs and folk music.
