SHOCK FOR KING DURING GARDEN VISIT
The King today encountered a shock as he proceeded to the fourth garden in the Winter Estates in Bloom contest today.
The 5 acre stately grounds have generally been criticised for their green-ness. Not this year.
As snows fell for the third time this year in Cruitberg, due in part to the Government's interference in the Pacific Warmth Stream, the estates featured in the show became engulfed in snow up to 5 feet deep. This did not deter the organisers from proceeding with the event, backed by the King who insisted that some of the taller shrubs would remain visible for close inspection and scoring.
The full horror of the afternoon unfolded after the King boarded the Royal Snowmobile. This powerful machine, with gold lined engine bay, is not a vehicle with which the King has had to become familiar. Having started the vehicle the King reversed into the dias, throwing the Prime Minister and First Lady backwards into the breakfast buffet. As the King made instructions to his party to aid the PM in wiping scrambled egg off his blazer, it appears the King inadvertantly applied full throttle, and accelerated briskly over the Chief of Police before gaining momentum down-slope.
Having no suitable equipment with which to pursue the King in such freezing conditions, the Government has decided to push the snow-shifting campaign to the East of the Island in order to make the Everglades more accessible. Combine Harvesters dispensing hot coals have been allocated to the area and numerous forest fires have been starting near the Everglades in order to melt some of the ice.
The Chief of Police, from the Cruitberg General Hospital, urged those living in the area to avoid making unecessary journeys, particulalry while road heating is in progress.
