The 1st Inaugural Debut Unnamed World Under-21 World Championship of Football

Yes. So, um. Yes. Um. Yes. Right.

So, with the Starblaydi Football Association otherwise engaged for the moment, the question must be raised.

Must it?

Well no, not must. It’s not absolutely imperative, not in the greater scheme of things. But we must now ponder whether there is still a place for an ongoing world under-21 championship, in its current form, or whether it's about time to put it back to beddie-byes again for a while.

So, this is mainly a thread to gauge whether there’s really more than half a dozen vaguely interested parties and, if so, stands a sign-up thread for an as-yet unnamed tournament played in an as-yet uncertain location, scorinated by an as-yet undetermined individual.

Should it be the seventh Di Bradini Cup, in honour of a player who crossed national boundaries? Or the twenty-second Under-21 World Cup, following on from the twenty-first played all those years ago? Or the twenty-eighth, with the previous DBCs considered direction continuations of said earlier tournament? Or the 1st World Under-21 Championship? Or World Youth Cup? Or… something?

And for that matter, should this remain a pretty bog-standard tournament or embrace the innovative attitude of its ancient predecessor what with its bizarre styles-of-play options and roleplay ranks and whatnot? Suggestions are welcome, although if you want anything too mathematically complicated you can bloody well host it yourself, ‘cos I can barely get me head around NSFS as it is, never mind anything else…

Oh yes, and alternative hosting bids, if you like.

Sign-ups for the Possibly 7th Di Bradini Cup (17/??)
Candelaria And Marquez. Obviously. Be a bit pointless otherwise.
Valanora. Obviously. Can't have an under-21 tournament without nubile young elves.
Nethertopia. Obviously. All those naïve young Dutch boys for CMSC1 clubs to feed on like the vultures they are.
Newmanistan. Obviously.
Myedvedeya. Obv... No wait, that doesn't work...
Miroxia. Um?
Kura-Pelland. Duly counted.
Lovisa. in
Greal. in.
Yafor 2. Obviously. Otherwise what's the point in etcetera and so forth.
Daehanjeiguk. Tentatively in.
Cafundéu. Hello.
Sotton Nuffwufflunyou'remybeshteshtmate, youarsh!
Jeruselem. Oh gawd.
Taeshan. Duh.
Kjomasasopia. Er.
(Cassadaigua. If we can inch our way to twenty.)

We will sign up, such a competition is important to us.

I would still try to call it the 7th Di Bradini Cup since Di Bradini has been made to be an worldwide name and icon, unless Starblaydia had an objection to that. Otherwise, maybe the 7th "DBC" Cup, without using the name Di Bradini. Or if all else fails, the 7th- something Cup. I'd hate to throw away the history. That other history has already been thrown away and recycled! If we were going to combine, and if there were 21 U-21's (ironic number to end at if so!) Then take those 21, add the 6 Di Bradinis and call it World U-21 28.

There should be a possibility to combine Simeone and the U-21 cups before that. A legend like him shouldn't be forgotten...

Rename the tournament the U-21 DBC 28 (and counting beyond) could be an option, but personally I don't think that has the right tone... Any other suggestions?

We sign up tentatively.

As to what it should be called, we generously suggest that it be named the Samseong Under-21 International Tournament (SUIT). Barring that option, we could go for a continuation of the DBC (although a continuation of the U21 WC would be a bit confusing, since the U21 WC Tournaments, to my recollection, did affect KPB ranks - which the DBC did not).

Regardless...

Okay, so that’s a nice round sixteen teams. Sign-ups are therefore tentatively closed, but I’ll keep this open for the full 24 hours after the OP (at least), and if we can get to twenty in that time then so be it. Even if it takes including Kosovoe, goshdarnit! Sacrifices must be made, people.

In any case, this’ll start the sooner the better, but ideally I’ll wait until the CoH group stages are over for MD1.

As for the name, I’ll guess we’ll go with the nice-n-simple 7th Di Bradini Cup, which can be retroactively altered if our Starblaydi associates kick up a snot. (Although, afaik Daehan, the U21WCs of old dropped the link to the KPB ranks fairly early on… KP-without-the-B, or someone, could probably correct me. In any case, it would be confusing to integrate TnUI’s old tournament, so we won’t. This I have decreed).

Mmm… Unwarranted Power…

Wow I gotta log in more then once a day, I missed a whole sign up tournament that I would have been all over!

Tentative #17, I guess.

Righty-o... One last futile bumpity-bump for twenty, or else I'll cut to the first sixteen. Or use uneven groups. Or... something.

God, I'm good at this...

The U21WC did indeed get dropped fairly quickly from KPB consideration, on the grounds that it was excessively helping out the rankings of people who had no life. :D

On the whole, I consider that to have been a highly retrograde step. :p

The general everything thread is here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=573393). This thread will still happily take three more sign-ups, along with OOC discussion, complaints, abuse, acusations of improper conduct, and threats.

I certainly hope I can still get in considering I signed up for the orginal 7th Di Bradini Cup. http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=566625&highlight=Bradini

We could be very helpful right now and be sign up #20. The Secristan Department of Sports smells the opportunity to get money from parents who desperately want their kids to pursue a career in sports, so we will do this.
