Ahh a nice run it was. Losing in a final is always easier when you never expected to get there in the first place. Congrats to Valanora. Errr, Dancougar.

I will RP after he does.

Dancougar News!!
Dancougar-Newmanistan RP war equals very yes.

CHAMPIONS AGAIN

The Dancougar Black Wings have placed in all four World Bowls, and now more than ever, they wear the target the entire world's gunning for.

The Wings won their second World Bowl title with a 38-26 win over Newmanistan, keeping alive the unbeaten streak against the Rockets, which now stands at seven. It's a bitter pill to swallow for Newmanistan, which knocked off undefeated Kura-Pelland in their semifinal while Dancougar required overtime to oust Arroza. Both offenses were clicking, but two interceptions by Kenny O'Hara, both of which led to touchdowns, proved to be pivotal.

Fans were expecting a close game, and the first half lived up to expectations. There were hits, there were bruising runs, and there were points. Corey Parisi found the endzone first on a 5-yard touchdown run, which capped a 69-yard drive that ate 5:30 of the first quarter clock. Michael Hussey needed about that much time to respond, directing a drive West Coast style that utilized Logan Dublin heavily. He had three catches on the drive, and that opened up the middle of the field for Gary Hutchins to run. He answered Parisi's challenge with a 4-yard scamper to make it 7-7. On Newmanistan's next drive, there was trickeration! Parisi ran right on a sweep and pitched back to Alex Foster. The Wings thought they'd sniffed out the play and had nine men up to stuff the run... unfortunate, because O'Hara was alone in the secondary! Foster threw a wobbler his way but O'Hara had plenty of time to bring it down. Alex Isabella rushed in to upend him, but the play went for 38 yards, and the Rockets were in business. The Wing defense was forced to back off a bit, and the Rockets converted to make it 14-7.

The clock was moving quickly, and it was looking like the advantage would go to the team that didn't blink first. Dancougar blinked. A holding penalty on the ensuing kickoff put them at the five, and Hutchins lost three yards on the first carry when Tyrone Booker blew up the play. On second down, Hussey dropped back to pass and was once again threatened, this time by linebacker Kalvin Thorson. Hussey tried to dump off a short pass but no one was waiting for it. Intentional grounding in the endzone awarded Newmanistan with two more points and the ball. Dancougar would hold them to a field goal and get back into the game with their last drive of the half. Hutchins picked up a 24 yard gain off tackle, and then Hussey hit Jermaine Divalerio for 15. Then the Wings slowed down the drive and milked the clock with some short passes, and then Hutchins went again. With the ball at the eight, Hussey found Divalerio for six, and the extra point made it 19-14. Things were looking up at halftime.

The Wings got the first possession of the second half and once again took it into the endzone. They key play was a 33-yard pass to Jay Milon on third and long, which put the Wings inside the Newmanistan ten yard line. Two plays later, Hutchins was in and it was 21-19. It was starting to look more familiar, as the teams historically have played each other very closely. The Rockets and Wings were held to punts on their next drives, and then it was Newmanistan's turn to blink. O'Hara was looking for Foster on a sideline route, but Tony Rorick jumped it and caught the ball in stride. He exploded down the sideline and no one was going to catch him - 52 yards to the house, and it was 28-19. That seemed to be the turning point, as the Rockets were forced to punt again and the Wings marched downfield for a field goal. It was 31-19 and the fourth quarter clock was starting to tick. O'Hara needed to make a play.

On the next drive, O'Hara started by running Parisi. On third down, they made a gutsy call and went deep to Christian Gagnon. He hauled it in despite pass interference by Isabella, and one more play put Newmanistan in the red zone. They went back to the ground, and Parisi finished the drive with a score to make it 31-26. Now they needed a stop. The Wings started to call plays more conservatively, running Hutchins and Dublin and punting after an eight-play drive went 36 yards and stalled near midfield. O'Hara once again had a chance to be the hero. But after two completions to Foster, the Rockets blinked again. O'Hara saw Parisi and flipped a short pass his way, but linebacker Neil Samples, who was coming around the edge on a delayed blitz, jumped up to bat it down and instead wound up with an interception. Samples rumbled down to the Newmanistan 25 before getting dragged down from behind. The Wings put together a six play drive that ended with Hutchins diving across the goal line to make it 38-26, and the game looked out of reach.

Newmanistan had the ball with about two minutes to play, but the dime package proved effective against O'Hara's two-minute offense. On fourth down, a sideline pass intended for Gagnon was batted away by Rorick to effectively ice the game, and for the second time in four tournaments, the Wings were champions.

THE ROCKET REPORT

TITLE BID COMES UP SHORT

Qazox City, Qazox- Jeremy Thompson and the Rockets walked slowly off the field as the Black Wings celebrated on the field to the tune of the classic “We are the Champions” theme. Not too long ago, Thompson celebrated to that very song as he led his South Tier Seagulls won the Empire Bowl. It was sweet then, but now, it would be anything but. Deep down he knows what he accomplished, on a personal level. More importantly, he knows that the team and the nation may have gained some respect in the world of gridiron as being more then just a team you saw on a quarterfinal bracket only to never be heard from again. He was happy with the team’s performance, even though they made mistakes. Mistakes that leave him shaking his head thinking that we didn’t make those one or two plays tonight. Dancougar won the game 38-26. Losing a championship to an opponent you highly respect can be easier to take. So he’s told. The Black Wings are the best gridiron team in the world. Not just this year, but since the World Bowl began. Perhaps they will win four World Bowls in a short period of time and build a legacy. Newmanistan got a lot closer this year. Let’s keep that in mind. But the king of the mountain is still firmly in place.

Twenty-four unanswered points by the Black Wings did the Rockets in, and it happened at a moment when the Rockets had the opportunity to make a statement. Newmanistan had the opening possession and moved the ball down field in a very smooth manner, just like that hey had done over the entire competition, going 69 yards in 5:30 in which Kenny O’Hara and company mixed up the play calling very well, Corey Parisi took it in from five yards to put the Rockets in front. Michael Hussey though quickly showed O’Hara and our team that he could move the ball against our defense just as easily. Logan Dublin caught three passes on the drive, including a spectacular one handed grab along the sidelines on a 3rd & 10 play, while sure to keep both of his feet in bounds. Dublin’s catch sent a message that the Black Wings were going to make big plays too, tonight, and eventually Gary Hutchins brought it in from four yards to tie it up at seven. Jeremy Thompson wanted to respond with some creativity, pulling out a play they worked on in the late group stage games. What looked to be a standard run turned into a reverse to Alex Foster, no, then it turned into an Alex Foster pass to Kenny O’Hara who was wide open for a big gain. The Rockets had sent a message that they were going to do anything, and that Dancougar better be ready. Moments later, a more conventional O’Hara to Foster connected happened with Kenny finding Alex in the end zone to make it 14-7. Momentum. It was starting. Right? After Dancougar got pinned back for holding on the ensuing kickoff, the Rockets went for the safety and they would get when Hussey threw the ball to nobody and was called for intentional grounding in the end zone. Momentum, building, 16-7. Newmanistan moved the ball down field well, with Corey Parisi picking up 32 yards on the possession, but it stalled at the Dancougar 22. Colfer drilled a 40 yard field goal and the Rockets looked to have taken control, with a 19-7 lead. Or so they thought.

One of the biggest things you learn from experience is resiliency. The trademark of an experienced, championship team is not to bend when things aren’t going your way, but to learn quickly and adjust. This is what separated the Rockets and Black Wings tonight. The moment in which the Rockets could have put the game away was the moment that the Black Wings used to show their character. Michael Hussey very coolly brought his team down the field, not forcing anything along the way. After effectively working the clock, Hussey found veteran receiver Jermaine Divalerio from eight yards out to close to within 19-14. It wasn’t panic time either, since they were receiving to begin the second half. After surrendering a key 3rd & 19 reception to Jay Milon that went for 33, the Black Wings knew they needed to pounce. Who better to pounce with then Gary Hutchins, and it would be 21-19. While Hussey remained calm, perhaps nerves were showing for the young O’Hara. After the Rockets had a three and out, the next time he got the ball he underthrew Alex Foster, and Tony Rorick was going to make him pay, with the interception, and the touchdown. Shades of the way they lost to Colbourne? 28-19 now in favor of Dancougar. Another punt, and Dancougar scored again. A field goal and the game was slipping away, 31-19 in favor of Dancougar and the Horrible Hand Towels were waving.

O’Hara and the Rockets dug down to try and find something left, and they did. Kenny’s 40 yard completion to Christian Gagnon on third down got some confidence back, and when Corey Parisi took it in from 13, suddenly the Rockets were back in the game. The defense needed a stop, here and now. What they got was Gary Hutchins’ 3rd touchdown of the game. Whenever Parisi made a play for Newmanistan it seemed as though Hutchins was motivated more by it and it picked up his play. At 38-26, there was enough time for a quick touchdown, onside kick recovery and another quick touchdown, but Dancougar would not allow the Rockets to get their hopes up. They would hold, and savor their second World Bowl title.

Dancougar did everything right tonight, and they are a worthy champion. We congratulate them. Newmanistan had a strong run this year and in what was a very successful World Bowl. 30 teams came to Qazox, a World Bowl record, and our hosts did a fantastic job with everything that needed to be done.

As the government of Miami Shores does not have official diplomatic or economic relations nor an extradition treaty with the government of Antitidum as well and in the case of our arch enemy the LHC Government Mafia dictatorship elite for obvious reasons.

We Ask the government of Antitidum access to the 4 players through a representative of our government to determine the actual intent of each player. To grant political asylum to the 4 La Habana Cuban players. Two of which have family members in Miami Shores.

Once the 4 have been granted political asylum we ask that the 4 players be allowed to emigrate quickly to Miami Shores if they desire, at Miami Shorerian government expense $ of course.

Under our immigration laws all legal hispanic immigrants are granted automatic citizenship once they step on Miami Shores soil.

All legal non Hispanic immigrants become citizens and fellow hispanics under a 5 year citizenship program under which they must take a Spanish language class.

I myself am a balsero-rafter immigrant from La Habana Cuba.
