It was getting desparate. The World needed someone, anyone, to step up and bid for Cup of Harmony 35. Rising up to this global call are two former Baptism of Fire Champions...............
The nations of Newmanistan and West Zirconia are proud to present to you this official bid for Cup of Harmony 35.
Members of the EWCC:
I present before you today an official bid for hosting the 35th Edition of the Cup of Harmony, to be held in the nations of Newmanistan and West Zirconia. It wasn’t too long ago that the Cup of Harmony was last held in Newmanistan, and the 33rd edition went off without a hitch. The Empire would be thrilled to host the competition again, especially as they will be defending their Cup of Harmony 34 Championship. West Zirconia, after winning the 29th Baptism of Fire, has shown itself to be a nation also worthy of hosting such a tournament.
I) Scorination
NSFootySim 2.0.7 will be used.
II) Roleplay
RP bonus will be cumulative, and quality of RP will be valued more then the sheer quantity. Factors such as interaction with RP’s of other nations and originality will be valued and rewarded. As we well know, RP will not guarantee that you have any success, as ultimately Margaret will have the final word.
III) Modifiers
Modifiers will range from +2 to -2, and decimals will be accepted (rounded to the nearest thousandth). These were the modifiers used in Cup of Harmony 33.
IV) Experience
A) Newmanistan- Since hosting Cup of Harmony 33 with the current vice-president of the World Cup Committee, Zwangzug, the Empire has built up a share of experience across the sporting scene. CoH33 is the main tournament that will concern that EWCC, but the experience also applies to World Baseball Classic 8, and the 2nd World Lacrosse Championships. The big one though other then CoH33, is World Bowl I & II. You may not play in the World Bowl, but this is arguably becoming the 2nd biggest non- “world” football competition on NS based on the number entrants.
B) West Zirconia- West Zirconia would be co-hosting his first competition. I have confidence in his ability as he does a good job updating his domestic league on the “soccer newswire” thread. In CoH 33, a nation fresh off a BoF championship in the previous cycle got a chance, and West Zirconia has earned the same chance here.
V) Format
All nations that do not qualify for the World Cup, but yet posted a minimum of one RP towards qualifying (that one RP can be a roster), will receive an invitation. We will aim to get a minimum of 24, but will work with a larger or smaller number if necessary. The amount of teams advancing to the knockouts will be decided by the amount of entries. If 24 or under, eight teams will advance. (So note to possible CoH nations: If you want to play, and you haven’t Rped, and we win with the bid, I suggest you RP now! There will be no exceptions to this even if you were a top 10 team that choked in qualifying and didn’t RP!)
Unfortunately, and as much we’d like to not admit it, it appears likely that both co-hosts will be participating in this tournament. Rest assured that both nations will have all of their matches scorinated by the other co-host.
Co-Hosts will be seeded for the group draw in accordance to their rank just like everyone else.
Invitations will need to be formally accepted either through a telegram or on a thread in order for a team to participate.
