World Cup 43

roster thread

This is the thread where you tell all of us just who exactly those strange people out there on the pitch wearing your nation's colors are, along with any other information you may feel is important.

If you wish, you may also include a style modifier ranging from -3 to +3, negative numbers meaning an emphasis on defense and positive numbers attack.

Also, it might be helpful to include guidelines for other RPers about what they may or may not do with your characters without your permission. This is often done like so:

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers Y/N
Godmod scoring events Y/N
RP injuries to my players Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players Y/N
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y/N
Hand out red cards to my players Y/N
Godmod other events Y/N

Actual RPing of World Cup matches will be done in the RP thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=569447).

So with that said, post away!

Style Modifier: +2
Rennidan will play in 5-3-2

Uniform
http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk176/rennidan/12.png

Rennidan is proud to be one of the few nations to not use a mega-corporation to manufacture their team kit, but as such, they never got around to making an away kit.

Manager

Ryan Malkoa
Age - 28

The life of a manager is never, ever easy. Yet for Ryan Malkoa it has been, perhaps, one of the hardest. After facing the death of his brother, his girlfriend and his unborn child, along with all his friends on the team, Malkoa fought hard to keep his job over fears of his mental status. He reasons that a little bit of insanity is needed for brilliance.

Assistant Manager

Jerry Horts
Age - 47

Manager of the Southern Hawks, Jerry was close with Ryan and Jo Malkoa. He stepped up into the assistant manager role after Allison Debanon sadly passed away. He is a laid back, easy going spirit, reminiscent of the children of the sixties.

Goalkeepers

Diar Twils, No. 91, Yanton Golds
Age - 18
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 158 lbs
Twils had already been thought of as a national prospect, but his age and lack of experience meant that the general consensus was that he wasn't ready. Now though, in desperate times, they have brought Twils up to play for his nation. Fresh faced and full of enthusiasm, his joyfulness is relatively infectious.

SUB

Robrt Gomez, No. 01, Southern Hawks
Age - 19
Sex - M
Height: 6'7"
Weight: 156 lbs
Gomez is a newcomer to the football scene, yet a known face in the world of college basketball. Hopes are that his good hands will translate over into the world of soccer.

Defenders
STARTING LINE UP

Henry Iopi, No. 4, Southern Hawks
Age - 17
Sex - M
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 140 lbs
A steal from Rennidan's youth league, Iopi was a child prodigy at the game, especially his mastery of ball control and slide tackling. Now though, he's playing in the real world and, needless to say, his nerves can somewhat get the better of him.

Samual ‘The Wall’ Fortal, No. 5, KT Hotspur
Age - 26
Sex - M
Height: 6'9"
Weight: 204 lbs
Obviously at a loss since his teammate’s demise from the lat World Cup, Fortal has become more aggressive on the pitch. This is, oddly, a saving grace, as it both inspires his teammates whilst demoralizing his opponents.
Big. That’s one way of describing Samual. He’s tall, muscular and doesn’t take any crap from anyone. He is by far the cornerstone of Rennidan’s defence. Anyone taking a free kick should be careful to not let the ball go near him.

Daniel Samman, No. 24, Central United
Age - 28
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 166 lbs
Since the death of his teammates and, perhaps most importantly, his childhood friend, Daniel Malakolo, Samman's heart just hasn't been seen. He's still good, but he lacks the flair and showmanship he used to put into the game.

Nick Yetsom, No. 75, Wessex F.C
Age - 19
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 192 lbs
Yetsome is a general sports nut. Boxing, kayaking, surfing, rugby and, most importantly, football, all play a large role in his life. He's pretty good, but his mind isn't always set on the game.

Harri Belon, No. 44, Atlético Jutense
Age - 24
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 144 lbs
Harri is another strong player, and is probably the only member of the team to not show that he's been effected by the incident of flight 109. He’s known for being a bit too laid back, but his tackling prowess is outstanding. He could get a ball away from a hungry polar bear without it noticing. So they say.

SUBS

Feros Balos, No. 40, Firtos United
Age - 22
Sex - M
Height: 6’2"
Weight: 166 lbs
With little actual experience behind him, Balos simply sits upon the bench.

Henry Harolds, No. 41, Littletown F.C
Age - 23
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 122 lbs
Happy with just being on the team, Henry gets playtime in the last half hour of the match. His liveliness can be a killer when everyone else on the pitch is knackered.

Midfield
STARTING LINE UP

Josef Fersu, No. 68, Southern Hawks
Age - 17
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 135 lbs
Fersu was an unexpected wonder player last year, and the hopes are he can bring his A game again this time round.

Witern Wallase, No. 72, Hampton
Age - 19
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 173 lbs
Wallase is another midfielder that is incredibly capable but performs best when dropping back. He's a bit uptight, and plays with a cold, calculating manner.

Macki Selks, No. 61, Ulii
Age - 18
Sex -M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 215 lbs
Selks is perhaps the only member of the starting midfielders that plays his best when pushing forwards for the goal. Whilst it's stated that Rennidan are 5-3-2, Selks prefers to adapt a 5-2-1-2 attitude when playing.

SUBS

Micha Hasweh, No 66, Yanton Golds
Age – 18
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 175 lbs
Hasweh is a very, very angry young man. He likes tackling, kicking and playing hard. It gets results, but his unpredictability means he's likely to be sat on the bench, as Rennidan don't want to risk a repeat of the Golos situation.

Strikers

STARTING LINE UP

Drunn Deleks, No. 58, Ulii
Age - 18
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 141 lbs
Deleks has an awe inspiring amount of power and accuracy in his right foot, capable of producing shots which no other striker is likely to even contemplate. The top corners of the opposition's nets are likely to be reserved for this young star.

Selet Loek, No. 77, Yanton Golds
Age - 19
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 141 lbs
Agile and fast, Loek has a brilliant head on his shoulders. He can figure out an oppositions defence in a blink, and is also a number one choice when a head into the net seems like the only good chance.

SUB

Rettini Oplo, No. 99, Southern Hawks
Age - 36
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 201 lbs
There merely to fill out the numbers, Oplo is an average player, and doesn't mind being around to just sit on the bench and dispense words of wisdom to the youngsters.

Captain: Harri Belon
Set Piece Taker: Drunn Deleks
Penalty Taker: Drunn Deleks
Right Corner: Macki Selks
Left Corner: Drunn Deleks

TEAM ROSTER

Well, here we present to you, the team roster of the Nethertopian team that will enter WC 43.

Kit:
http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/4343/nethertopianewel3.png

THE STAFF
Coach: The Scout
Does this person even need an introduction? The all-known scout from Cafundéu! He's finally made his debut into the managerial world of football. The NFA was delighted such a person signed up for this position, even though he has no experience as coach whatsoever. We will trust him to guide our team into whatever we will go into, with his superior knowledge of the capabilities of our players, and tactical and strategical knowledge.

Manager: Trevor Organ
Trevor Organ has had previous jobs as coach of Albrecht FC and Hopeless SC, and as coach of some C&M national team variations. He’s more a motivator than a tactical genius, so it seems that he, together with The Scout, seems the perfect managerial couple. He is the manager of the team because The Scout still remains scout for Cafundéu and the NFA wanted someone on the job permanently as well. Will mostly play the past as assistant though.

THE TEAM
Nethertopia will play in a 3-5-2 formation, with two defensive midfielders, two wingers and a central attacking midfielder. Style modifier is +0,5, slightly attacking.

Starters
Goalkeeper: Wouter van Dalen
Age: 32
Number: 1
Club: NAPPC
Bio: Wouter started as 19 year old at the Peregrines in the amateur Nethertopian competition. He was directly noticed by Rob Kietecs due to extraordinary save he made in the entire year. What followed was a spot in the national team. He’s an experienced goalie, with a few caps (OOC I didn’t keep up my last caps count), and ready to keep the ball out of the goal.

Left defender: Jerome de Wit
Age: 24
Number: 2
Club: Green Island (C&M)
Bio: This player was found by The Scout and made it into the final 19. Surprising choice, because Jerome has yet to prove himself at the highest level. Not much is known about him, but with his jumping power and his formidable height of 2.09m (6”8) he’s sure to go up front in dead ball situations. Rumour goes that this player is fearless in duels. C&M's Green Island have signed him, not long ago.

Central defender: Ronnie de Haan
Age: 33
Number: 4
Club: Tenderville United
Bio: After playing for over 10 years for the same club, TdvUtd, Ronnie decided it was time to quit the football. He will stop playing after the WC. Ronnie is still known for his positioning, tackle and pass, but his fierce shot has weakened with the age. He’s still not the fastest player on the pitch.

Right defender: Jan Wildernis
Age: 26
Number: 3
Club: El din Marbles (C&M)
Bio: Wildernis is part of the squad that will return to the amateur competiton, together with The Grey Towers and Ashdom City (More on that later, in the IDSNW, in some C&M post probably). He’s made his debut four years ago and is known for his good long balls and aggressive nature on and off the field. Has joined the Marbles in search for CMSC gold.

Central defensive midfielder: Michael de Vet
Age: 31
Number: 13
Club: Caires City (C&M)
Bio: This fellow has proven himself in the NA-L and is ready for the national team. Originally a plain central midfielder, but The Scout believes in his potential as a defensive midfielder. He’s a player with a good tackle and keeps a cool head when chaos is everywhere on the field. Has departed from his former club FC DePardenti, which he had a strained relationship, to join CMSC1 team Caires City

Central defensive midfielder: Thomas Schaak
Age: 20
Number: 6
Club: El din Marbles (C&M)
Bio: The Scout is mysterious in different ways, and this player is one of them. Thomas is a small youngster, ready to prove himself in international football and ready for a professional team. His control over the ball is perfect, as is his passing. He’s quite quick, has a good tackle, a good shot and mentally very strong. This is the player to watch. This is the revelation of The Scout. Recently signed a contract with the Marbles.

Left winger: Jean-Pierre Bakker

Age: 25
Number: 7
Club: NAPPC
Bio: Bakker is a pacey player, who likes to stick to the left side of the field and tries tricks to get passed opponents. He’s not the smartest guy, to say the least, and his football intelligence is not the highest as well. He is, however, very good at delivering the ball at the right place, right time.

Central attacking midfielder: Frans Oud
Age: 28
Number: 10
Club: Tenderville United
Bio: Originally from the Nethertopian puppet state YnosYnos, Oud got his passport as soon as the nation ceased to exist. This player is also a fine striker, with a good shot, leadership capabilities and a fine free kick. To be short, a real 10. He also is famous in Nethertopia for his singing and rapping skills, even reaching #1 in the charts with the song ‘Like Lions’.

Right winger: Dries Pannekoek
Age: 21
Number: 8
Club: NAPPC
Bio: Pannekoek (pancake in Dutch) is another young player that makes his debut for the Falcons. He’s the kind of player that gives defenders nightmares, with his speed and pass-by actions. He’s fragile, however, and easily taken down. In the two year he’s been a professional player he only played 18 games, because of injuries.

Striker: Jan-Paul Snip
Age: 31
Number: 11
Club: El din Marbles (C&M)
Bio: One of the original player of the DePardenti side when it joined the Nethertopian competition, this player now fully understands the game. It’s a real finisher, with a powerful shot. He’s also strong, a trait that all known Nethertopian international strikers we’ve had didn’t have. He’s also an expert in taking penalties. One of the many players to join the Marbles.

Striker: Abdoulaye Soro (C)
Age: 32
Number: 9
Club: Tenderville United
Bio: Our prolific striker, ready for his last big tournament. He's moved back to TdvUtd, who will operate in the CMSC2 soon, in a deal that the NFA closed with the CAMASA. He'll help his old team out, and then retire from football. Rumour has it that the Marbles would offer him a managerial position of so. Watch him. Despite his age, he's still speedy and able to score his goals. Named captain by The Scout just before the tournament started.

Subs
Goalkeeper: Ron de Vries
Age: 33
Number: 12
Club: NAPPC
Bio: Part of the old gang, which entered BoF27. Always ready for a match if Wouter is unavailable.

Defender: Yannick de Woudt
Age: 18
Number: 5
Club: Arrigo Portugese (C&M)
Bio: Taken by The Scout as part of a learning process, to get ready for the big work, someday.

Defender: Gregory van Houten tot Schaagen
Age: 22
Number: 14
Club: Candelaria-Allemali (C&M)
Bio: Has it’s name from some old, medieval barony. This player is not far away from a base place and is sure to be the follow up of Ronnie de Haan.

Defensive midfielder: Fouad Snijders
Age: 36
Number: 16
Club: Amateur club
Bio: On his way back from football, but asked by The Scout to make an international comeback for one more time.

Attacking midfielder: Hans Klaassen
Age: 20
Number: 17
Club: NAPPC
Bio: Twin brother of Piet. Is able to play on the whole attacking midfield.

Attacking midfielder: Piet Klaassen
Age: 20
Number: 17
Club: NAPPC
Bio: Twin brother of Hans. A corner specialist.

Striker: Ben van Dam
Age: 26
Number: 15
Club: El din Marbles (C&M)
Bio: Originally from the Peregrines academy, but there he was considered as not good enough. Ashdom city was quick with his signing and it was a good one. His favourite position is that of right behind the striker, but The Scout decided to put him on the field as a full striker. His control is fabulous, his shots are placed, but lack power. The El Din Marbles have transferred this player as follow-up for Abdoulaye Soro.

Striker: Darius Longstone
Age: 24
Number: 18
Club: Tenderville United
Bio: A player that always had the status of wonderchild, but never really made it into what was expected of him. Surprising selected instead of oldie Kingsley Kalu.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers Y

And the Roster, in the usual 4-1-2-3 formation.

For the first time in almost 2 decades, the Pheonix roster has been completely overhauled, after the retirements of:
Erin Goolden, Cyrus Stasinos, Georgianne Shillingford, Tenesha Evelo, Maria Lupe Reyes, Maria Cruz-Preli, Stevie Spingler, Qazox's alltime leading scorer Kallie Jaus; Renna Valladores, Anderson Tarricone, Russ Heberly, Wilburn Harmond, Letta Smicht, and Head Coach Ryan Greenley, who is now the HC of Jeru FC.
Combined, Qazox is losing players who have collectively played in over 800 matches and have produced Qazox' best World Cup runs. Now once again the re-birth is upon us. Will this team be able to maintain the excellence of the recent past; or wil Qazox begin to slip back into the muck of the unworthy?

Lawyer #1: Well that was a very nice 4 year vacation to the Dreamed Realm, wasn't it?

Lawyer #2: Especially after we pointed out that clause in the creation contract, which allowed us unlimited axcess to it.

Lawyer #1: Let's take a look at the messages

<Lawyer #1: Looks at messages, finds 15,523>

Lawyer #1: I guess we spent a bit too much time there, huh?

Lawyer #2: The first 20 or so are from Dr. Mkembe, and the 21st is from... Pelé?

Lawyer #1: What?

Lawyer #2: Let's listen to it:

"arrrh. Arrrkg. urgggg. Heeeh."

Lawyer #1: That's the Zombie one, not the real one. Run it through the Zombie-English translator

<World Cup qualified for. Can we go back to the dead, yet?>

Lawyer #2: Wait, our Zombies qualified for World Cup 42?

Lawyer #1: Sounds like it. We did sign a contract stating, if they qualified for the World Cup, we'd release their souls back. But last time I checked, isn't a contract only valid if both parties are alive?

Lawyer #2: So?

Lawyer #1: So, they're our slaves until we get bored with them or they break the contract.

Lawyer #2: Wait, you said that the contract was invalid.

Lawyer #1: True, but only we know that. Besides, we got more important things to worry about.

Lawyer #2: Such as?

Lawyer #1: Trying to convince Taeshan and Qazox not to invade us.

PRUX'S WORLD CUP 43 ROSTER: (the Zombies are here to stay!)

(3-4-3/3-2-2-3 formation, +1 modifer)

STARTERS:

GK: Leonard Dvorak (22 yrs old). Almost a complete keeper, but has problems with going to his right on PK. Should get a couple of shutouts this time.

Left Defense: Steve Rector (23 yrs old). Best defender Green wombat has seen in years; and better than 4 years ago. Only a complete mental lapse or injury will see him beat.

Sweeper: Becky Fick (23 yrs old). Has gotten her temper under control a bit more, she's still vunerable to a good deke, but has improved her marking.

Right Defense: Douglas Dubose (32 yrs old). The "Old Man" of the team, overall a good defender, will probably be subbed for early and often.

Left Defending Midfielder: Bobby Kennedy (26 yrs old). No relation to the RL political family, Bobby is just a small step behind Steve Rector as best defender on the team.

Right Defending Midfielder: Monica McGann (26 yrs old). She's a wild one. Great defender, temper is worse, Leg is stronger (made a goal from the defending endline once in practice!) still takes corners

Left Attacking Midfielder: Stella Karp (24 yrs old). Stella is the best overall player on the team. She can do everything well now, even penalties. But has had recent knee trouble.

Right Attacking Midfielder: Ronald Wilcox (21 yrs old). This young man can run with anyone and will probably become the main scoring threat. Only weakness is a tendency to overdribble.

Left Forward: Dale Henke (25 yrs old). Great speed and great ballhandling skills, still plays down to competition.

Mid Forward: Wayne Blessing (26 yrs old). Still the most complete playert on team, but bad knees have slowed him a bit more. If team is struggling, might be replaced in starting line up.

Right Forward: Pauline Utley (27 yrs old). Has better ball control than before, but has lost a step or two. Still deadly accurate with penalties and direct kicks.

RESERVES (age):
GK: Carolyn Mohammed (25)
DEF: Jonathan Kyle (24)
DEF: Hattie Medford (22)
SWEEP: Frank Dixon (24)
MID: Joy Lazarus (21)
MID: Sonya Lefountaine (24)
MID: Margaret Buchholz (21)
FOR: Chad Connors (24)
FOR: Edward Griffin (27)
FOR: Nicholas Huskey (30)

In a short interview, Vincent Gay, Sr., had this to say: "These boys are ready. The Miroxian team hasn't been to the World Cup since WC37. We have been training hard, especially after I retired and I got the coaching job. Some roster changes were made, and we had a scrimmage here and there. Distinctly, I remember that our scrimmages record was 2-2-2, so, we're confident we can win!"

ANOTHER SEASON, ANOTHER WORLD CUP!

(OOC: Cafundéu’s players are two years older than in WC 42)

Style: +2.5

CCFM RELEASES THE LIST OF PLAYERS FOR THE 43rd WORLD CUP

After the marvellous event that WC42 was, with both Cafundéu and Septentrionia working hard to profit... I mean to accommodate well the supporters and tourists from all around the world and preparing everything to guarantee an enjoyable cup, it is time for Cafundéu to return to the qualifiers. Once again as the 8th best team of the world, the Monopolists don’t want to make the same mistakes again, when the team failed to improve after reaching that point and fell on the rankings again. This time, they want to reach a stage they’ve never reached before. This time the coach is Júlio Vargas, who started his coaching career in World Cup 36, commanding the Cafundelense team that reached the quarterfinals for the first time, on home soil. After being successful on club football too, he returns to the National Team, with more experience, to help the Monopolists in their challenge. Once again, 26 players were called, although 3 of them (numbers 25 to 27 – 24 is a forbidden number) won’t be included in the team for the World Cup, playing only in the qualifiers. There are backup players in case of injuries that can be used.

(IMPORTANT: use the names in BOLD of my players when write your RPs [if they are involved], please, as these are the names that they use when playing [the names in their shirts], don’t use their full name , as most have big full names and the Cafundelenses use nicknames exactly due to this situation. This and the observation below are the only 2 things that I ask about this issue)

(IMPORTANT 2: please do not write the names of my players in all capitals, this is important for me too. When writing a name of one of my players in your RP, write like you would write a name for any other player [don’t forget to use the one in bold]. For example: write “Augusto César tried a long ranged shot...” instead of “AUGUSTO CÉSAR tried a long ranged shot...”)

See the list of the 26 players:

Goalkeepers:

1- JÚLIO SAMPA (Team: Galáxia)
Height: 205cm - Weight: 90kg – Age: 31 years old
Talented goalkeeper, who has some problems when playing important games (gets nervous easily). Could be a starter in the National Team before, but was caught in the anti-doping seasons ago, for using a medicine to lose weight. Is very good in reacting fast and in getting the ball in the air too, as he is very tall. Doesn’t have many friends and doesn’t talk very much, so his relationship with his teammates isn’t the best one. He seems to be happy with his life right now and motivated to play in the NT’s goal.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: C – Morale: A – Form: B
PLAYED WCs 40/41/42

12- Francisco KARDEC (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 202cm - Weight: 90kg – Age: 27 years old
Player known for his outstanding performances in the league, Kardec impresses with excellent saves, since he was in América. It was only matter of time for him to reach the National Team, as he was playing for Cafundéu since the Sub-21 side. Now playing for one of the best teams of the world, seems to hold responsibility well, and is an excellent penalty saver. Kardec’s only flaw seems to be his physical condition, as he isn’t very strong and can get injured easily. Apart from that, is a top keeper. Is very religious, and prays for ten minutes before every game.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Form: A

22- BARTOLOMEU Bueno de Souza (Team: SC Lasft)
Height: 191cm - Weight: 87kg – Age: 28 years old
Bartolomeu already knew that he would be going to the National Team sooner or later. After playing very well in the youth National Teams, he showed a lot of maturity playing for his domestic team, won a deserved chance in the National Team. He is like a permanent reserve, and probably won’t be a starter in the World Cup, even if Júlio Sampa gets injured. Bartolomeu focuses on the game and it’s difficult to see him distracted. He is very cold and professional.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Form: B
PLAYED WCs 39/40/41/42

Right Defender/Winger:

14- CÍCERO Bandrindes Rossi (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 175cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 25 years old
An unstable player, everything for Cícero has ups and downs. His performances act this way, sometimes impressive and in others disappointing. He is skilled in controlling the ball, defending and making passes, but isn’t very good in finishing. Can play as a full-back, defender or even midfielder, so a coach can use him in many different ways. Cícero’s humour also changes suddenly, and he often starts arguments and fights. Last, his personal life is full of confusions, involving his ex-wifes and all his children that he has had, and to whom he has to pay money.
Rating: C – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: B

Left Defender/Winger:

17- RENILDO Carvalho Peixoto (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 185cm - Weight: 82kg – Age: 25 years old
Friend of Cícero, his career became much more successful than of his friend. After staying in the bench of Petardos S/A for two seasons, became a starter and one of the key players of the team, showing incredible technique and passing ability. Isn’t very good in defending, and often forgets to defend, going to the attack too many times. Sometimes he even scores goals, but he is better at making assists. Is considered a nice person, who likes to talk with the press and seems to have a good life. Considered by many the most promising player of the National Team.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Form: A

Central Defenders:

2- Anatoliy TITOV (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 192cm – Weight: 88kg – Age: 28 years old
One of the most respected defenders of the Cafundelense league, Titov is a natural leader inside the field, and one that can be trusted when playing. With him in the field, his team mates seem more confident. Titov is an excellent defender, stopping the opponents from reaching the goal. Also, he is good at heading, mostly due to his height. A strong player, he sometimes makes violent fouls, but nothing on purpose. Doesn’t like to attack, although can take penalty kicks (only in shootouts), with strength. Anatoliy isn’t Cafundelense, he is from Squornshelous, playing even in a World Cup for them (missing WC41 due to an injury). After the ceasing of its home nation, he was called to play for Cafundéu instead, which he accepted, saying: “My country doesn’t exist anymore, so I think I’m free to choose another one as my new home, and it’ll be Cafundéu.”
Rating: A – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: A
PLAYED WC 40 (Squornshelous)
PLAYED WC 42 (Cafundéu)

3- ALEX Aorini (Team: Clube Imperial)
Height: 183cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 32 years old
Another player that everyone in Cafundéu knows that is good but only after many years received a chance in the National Team. Alex is a permanent starter, so responsibility is huge. Nothing that worries this player, who is already the captain of a strong Clube Imperial team. Very defensive, won’t appear in the attack, unless it’s a corner kick (can try to score with a header – and he scores a lot this way). In defence, he is amazing. It’s difficult for an attacker to avoid his marking. Alex is also famous for being the son of an influential politician, the mayor of Mondragon. He also appears in many advertisements, due to his fame with the women.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: C - Morale: A - Form: A
PLAYED WCs 40/41/42

4- Luiz de Azevedo "LUIZÃO" (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 176cm - Weight: 73kg – Age: 26 years old
Luizão plays in Ranca Toco since he was fifteen, and is one of the most promising players of the Sarrafeiros for a long time. More violent than the other defenders of the National Team, likes to discuss with the referee, hit the opponents and complain. But usually he is able to refrain himself from receiving a red card. As a defender, he is very good at tackling and passing, and won’t attack much too. Outside the field, is known for his involvement in confusions and discussions about controversial issues.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: C - Morale: A - Form: A
PLAYED WCs 41/42

13- Rick TOLEDO (Team: Dunboor FC)
Height: 176cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 28 years old
Known for his resistance, this player isn’t really a world class player, but is a good one, and an interesting option for the National Team. Is good at marking and is a strong player, so is a good option when someone from the other team is very dangerous and needs individual marking. Toledo has some concentration problems, and sometimes will get distracted and make mistakes. Overall, a good talent, and can even find some chances of playing for the qualifiers.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Form: B

20- JOÃO CARLOS Alvorada Siqueira (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 190cm – Weight: 97kg – Age: 23 years old
João Carlos first started his career as the substitute of another João Carlos, in SC Lasft. When the later got retired, he could finally show his talent, still at a young age. His strength and will force put him in the same level of the best defenders of the league, although he lacks technique or offensive abilities. Now he was transferred to Cafundó do Juta, where the supporters expect to see a solid defender, ready to stop the opponent attackers. In the National Team, will have few chances.
Rating: C – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: B

26- Ronaldo Eugênio Diniz "RONALDÃO" (Team: CS Sept-Onze Ourseville [SPT])
Height: 193cm - Weight: 103kg – Age: 27 years old
Young defender, but with already some experience in his team, Ronaldão is an interesting choice. A very big and strong defender, will probably scare many attackers. He isn’t violent, but is so strong that sometimes makes bad fouls. He also lacks offensive abilities, but in defence he is excellent, stopping the plays from the opponents and securing his team’s area. Outside the field, likes to sing pagode music, and that’s why is called “the pagodeiro” by his team mates. This time, due to an injury, won’t go to the WC, staying as an option.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: B - Form: B
PLAYED WCs 41/42

Defensive Midfielders:

5- Henrique SILVEIRA (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 178cm - Weight: 73kg – Age: 28 years old
Some experts consider Silveira “the next Anormal”. Although Silveira doesn’t have the height and weight of the legendary player, he is also a nearly complete player. His passes are good, his shooting is strong and usually well placed, is intelligent as has speed. Has some problems with dribbling and heading, and that’s why he isn’t as complete as Anormal. But he is excellent at tackling. Really excellent. Takes the ball from the opponents without difficulties, and without making fouls. During the game (and outside the field too), is very polite with the referee and with his opponents, but when things get out of control, he has difficulties to control himself. Also, respect his coach more than anyone, being a good option for captain of the team, although he will have to dispute this title with the defender Titov.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Form: A
PLAYED WCs 40/41/42

6- José "ZÉ" SHO (Team: Atlético Jutense)
Height: 181cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 26 years old
Born in Cafundó do Juta, José Sho is the son of the legendary Ariddian defender Ke Sho, who now lives in Cafundéu working as Atlético Jutense’s coach. Working with his father, José Sho seems to have the same defensive qualities that made Ke Sho famous around the world, being one of the main responsible for Ariddia’s World Cup 32 and 34 titles. But Zé Sho is a defensive midfielder, as he has some offensive qualities that his father didn’t have. Good at defending, Zé can also score goals with his strong shot, and make interesting long ranged passes. Outside the field, is a talkative person, loved by the fans and with the confidence of his team mates. Has a huge responsibility to play like his father did.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Form: A
PLAYED WCs 41/42

15- Fábio Germano Santos "FABINHO" (Team: Central United)
Height: 168cm – Weight: 66kg – Age: 23 years old
Fabinho goes to the National Team to play in his original position, as a defensive midfielder, although he started to play well in the offense and in the wings too, being a very versatile player. His long ranged shots are deadly and his passes are very good, so he can make many assists. His best talent is his positioning, he seems to be always in the right place at the right moment. He isn’t a physical player or a dribbling one, his main flaws. But he is a player for the future. Is talkative and confident of his qualities, something that helps him to play well too.
Rating: C – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: B

Neutral Midfielders:

7- Roberto Wendison Renat DA SILVA (Team: Clube Imperial)
Height: 167cm – Weight: 65kg – Age: 33 years old
Da Silva is a very versatile player in the midfield. Started his career as a defensive midfielder, played many games as an offensive midfielder, worked well as a winger... it’s a very useful player. With fast dribbles and intelligent passes, he is good at creating deadly plays and making assists, and will surely play a major role in the National Team. In the NT, will play in a more offensive role, but can defend if needed. He is also known as a quiet player, but a very good guitar player, so he participates in the team’s parties.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: B
PLAYED WCs 39/40/41/42

19- Reginaldo ROSSI (Team: América)
Height: 172cm - Weight: 63kg – Age: 25 years old
Hard worker, determined and overexcited about playing football. These are the usual characteristics given to Rossi. With his sunglasses and big hair, he surely is noticed in the field. But he likes to be noticed by his football. Long ranged passes and shots are his specialty, but he is good at dribbling too, an excellent option for starting a counterattack. Never gives up on a play, and is often talking and shouting on the field, showing anxiety. Usually his team mates like his energy and determination, but there are some players who think that he complains too much.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Form: B

21- Sílvio Cândido Bertrandt "SILVINHO" (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 175cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 29 years old
A good player, who was considered a player of enormous potential since he appeared in the U-21 squad. The fact that he is a Petardos S/A player harmed his development a bit, as he didn’t had opportunities of playing, due to the concurrence of world class players in the team. But now he is getting his deserved playing time, and showing that he is really a player of quality, being even a starter in the TQCC final. Is a fast player, good at attacking, passing and dribbling. Doesn’t score many goals. As a person, he is kind, but a bit shy, and will speak only the necessary with the press.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: B
PLAYED WC 42

Attacking Midfielders:

8- AUGUSTO CÉSAR Menegatti Soares (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 172cm - Weight: 70kg – Age: 30 years old
This player is the funniest of the team. In the hotel or in the trainings, he loves to tell jokes and to play tricks. So, everybody in the team likes him. He is also very famous for his relationship with a famous actress. As a player, he is fast and good at passing, but his defensive ability isn’t very good. His long ranged shots are excellent too, as his ability with free kicks and in going to the attack, but he has some positioning problems. A key player of the team, will probably be one of the top goalscorers of the team, and maybe one of the best players of the entire competition.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Form: A
PLAYED WCs 39/40/41/42

10- Carlos MAROSSI (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 179cm – Weight: 71kg – Age: 30 years old
Marossi reached success in football when he was already older than 25, which is not common among the Cafundelense players in the National Team. His performances in Khalmar-Tijhus were impressive. At that time, his best abilities were his accurate passing and good crossings, but now he has improved his dribble too, making him an excellent player for creating goal chances. Now he finally got a contract with a top team, Ranca Toco, and will probably continue his good performances in his new team. Outside the field, is a very sociable player, and knows many languages (loves to talk with the referee if he knows his language). During the game he sometimes complains too much.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: A
PLAYED WC 42

11- Fábio MOREIRA (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 176cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 30 years old
Fast and an excellent dribbler, Moreira is one of the key players of his team, but was only called to the National Team now, after being in the “B” NT for many years. Already famous inside the country, the supporters know that Moreira can decide games with his passes and crosses, and that he’ll be a key player in the team. His speed can help the team in counterattacks too. Moreira is a quiet person, very shy, so he doesn’t like the press very much. But this doesn’t mean that he isn’t a kind person. Can also take free kicks, but he isn’t an expert.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: B - Morale: B - Form: A
PLAYED WCs 40/41/42

25- Luís Flambert TOBIAS (Team: South Coast United [JSY])
Height: 168cm – Weight: 64kg – Age: 29 years old
Another player developed in Galáxia, Tobias impresses the fans of his team in the UCS with his extremely advanced technique. Is one of the most technique players of the National Team, being an expert in dribbles, stylish passes and shots. Sometimes these moves aren’t so useful, but he is ever trying to do some of these. Likes to impress the media with his declarations, and likes to show his footballing quality, an adept of the “jogo bonito”. Considered by some not efficient. The fact is that his moves seem usually taken from a futsal game, because of their speed and perfection.
Rating: C – Team Relationship: B – Morale: C – Form: B
PLAYED WCs 41/42

Attackers:

9- DANILO SAMPA (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 198cm – Weight: 91kg – Age: 27 years old
Younger brother of the goalkeeper Júlio Sampa, both are considered at having approximately the same potential, but playing at different roles, of course. Danilo Sampa is a typical goal scorer. Good at dribbling, shooting and heading, but horrible at defending or making assists. As the only real attacker of the team, has a huge responsibility, and doesn’t seem the best option for this role. Is very different from his brother in personality, as he likes to talk a lot and to make friends with all his team mates.
Rating: B– Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: B
PLAYED WC 42

16- FAUSTO Hernandez (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 166cm - Weight: 65kg - Age: 28 years old
An enigmatic player, Fausto is unpredictable. When you think he is going to dribble, he shoots. When you think he is going to cross, he dribbles. So it’s very difficult to mark him. His dribbles are sensational, but his finishing ability really needs improvement, as he loses many clear goal chances. He doesn’t participates in corner kick chances too, staying away from the area. He also is a bit impatient with his team mates and often argues with them, so he isn’t the most nice of the people, having even some enemies in the football world. Is arrogant, but he knows when he made a mistake and apologizes.
Rating: C - Team Relationship: C - Morale: A - Form: A

18- HUBERT Munch (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 173cm - Weight: 70kg - Age: 24 years old
Usually ignored by the so called “football experts” when they make their list of the best players in the country, Hubert is just considered a good striker, who scores goals. They forget to remember that scoring goals is the main objective of a striker, so Hubert is excellent. He isn’t a player that makes beautiful plays or goals, but he does his job, and very well. His shots are usually well placed, and he has a good positioning and vision of the game. Unfortunately, his style seems too primitive for some coaches. Not for Vargas, who called him for the NT. He is a serious person, but a nice one.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: A

23- Dênis Conte ALVES (Team: Dunboor FC)
Height: 175cm – Weight: 71kg – Age: 21 years old
Youngest player of this National Team, Alves is one of the most efficient strikers of the country. He plays as a target man inside the area, few times leaving it to start a play from the midfield. Good at scoring, not so good at passing and making plays. Alves is cold, can resist easily to pressure, but also doesn’t communicate much with his team mates. Outside the field, is more sociable, but still a cold person. His ability as a goalscorer can help him to play some games in the qualifiers, but maybe it’ll be difficult for him to actually start the game. A star for the future.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: A – Morale: A – Form: B

27- Gilberto LACERDA (Team: Galáxia)
Height: 184cm – Weight: 84kg – Age: 22 years old
Lacerda is from the same generation of attackers of Hubert, Alves and Nando. In this World Cup, was unable to get a position between the 23 that would go to the World Cup, but will have some chances during the qualifiers. Is a strong attacker, good at heading. Can take the ball from the opponent defenders using his physical strength, and hold it using the same tactics. Has a strong shot, but lacks accuracy. Most consider Lacerda unable to reach a permanent spot in the National Team. Is a talkative person, but doesn’t like to talk about his personal life.
Rating: C – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: A

The 6 alternative options:

Goalkeeper: Lazlo Vercilo SALATHIËL (23 years old, playing in Khalmar-Tijhus)
Full-Back: Tarso Matheus COTUBA (19 years old, playing in Clube Comercial)
Defender: João Muniz DATENA (20 years old, playing in Central United)
Defensive Midfielder: Charles JULES (23 years old, playing in Dunboor FC)
Offensive Midfielder: Fernando de FRANCO (30 years old, playing in Atlético Jutense)
Attacker: Fernando Lemes Campo "NANDO" (22 years old, playing in América)

Staff:

Coach: Júlio VARGAS (Former Clube Imperial coach)
Height: 202cm - Weight: 106kg – Age: 56 years old
Júlio Vargas is already a legend in Cafundéu. Player of the National Team for many years, participated in World Cups 32 and 33 as a goalkeeper. He is also respected in Petardos S/A, as he played there. After retiring from football, Vargas wanted to work as a coach, and earned a place in SC Carnavalesco, and then Clube Imperial. After being promoted to the First Division with Clube Imperial, he was hired to be the coach of the National Team in WC36, making good results. He is popular with the players and the media, and has an offensive style, but not too tactical. Now, after winning a national title with Clube Imperial (again), he returns to the National Team, to make a partnership with his friend and former team mate Ganz Ijak.

COACH IN WC 36

Assistant Coach: GANZ IJAK
Height: 182cm - Weight: 93kg - Age: 52 years old
The legend. The player who carried the team to qualify for World Cup 32, when Cafundéu was just the Baptism of Fire runner-up nation. The CCFM hired Ijak to help any coach that takes the team. In fact, Ijak was hired because of his popularity, which would be good for the morale of the players, as Braddock can do the entire job alone, without help. It was a good marketing move too, as Ijak has a good relationship with the fans.

Spy: PAI Oxossi de Guibar DINAH
Height: 158cm - Weight: 64kg – Age: 102 years old
Pai Dinah(or Pai Oxossi) is the spy of the team. He says that he can discover the deeper secrets of the opponent talking with the opponent players and using his secret talents. He is a very strange person and many people say that he is crazy. But he does his work well, and most of the times he discover the secrets of the enemy.

Physical Trainer:Nélson Barcellos "NELSINHO SAÚDE"
Height: 194cm - Weight: 111kg – Age: 54 years old
A happy and funny trainer who enjoys working with professional players. Likes to live a healthy life, avoiding heavy food, lack of physical exercise and many other things. He is also very worried with the environment. Nelsinho Saúde may be a nice person, but, when working, is very professional and the players will have to work hard to satisfy him. A necessary thing, as this is a National Team.

Entertainer: SERGINHO MALLANDRO (Former TV Gazeta)
Height: 175cm - Weight: 88kg - Date of Birth: ??? (above 60 years old)
The players and the staff need to be relaxed to play all the games. So, Serginho Mallandro's job is to make jokes, play games and help to make everybody happy. Sometimes he can be a bit annoying with his phrases like "Glu-glu", or "Bilu-bilu tetéia" and other ones, and even the directors don't like him very much, but he will stay with the NT. He also works with the female NT.

Doctor: Dr. ANITA MUNHOZ (Former Faculdade de Medicina)
Height: 163cm - Weight: 50kg – Age: 40 years old
With Tatiana leaving the country to work in an important foreign hospital, the CCFM hired one of her best friends, the doctor Anita Munhoz, to take her place. She has the same style of her friend and is competent enough to handle with the injury problems of the National Team, so she was a very good choice.

DOCTOR IN WC 42

The Directors:

Honorary President of the CCFM: Head Counselor and Counselor-Minister of Sports Erasmo Carlos JOWENGUARD
Age: 99 years old
Jowenguard's family is one of the founders of the CCFM. He was the president of the CCFM for more than 30 years, but health problems made him renounce. Then, he took the job of director of the National Teams(less important), still having great influence in the CCFM and in the CFFC, choosing the NT coach and changing some things that he shouldn't change(I won't give any details about it). After another 6 years as president of CCFM, Jowenguard retired, but will continue with the title until his death. He is now the Head Counselor of the country too, so is an important political figure.
Rating: A - Influence: A - Morale: A - Confidence: A

Acting President of the CCFM: Carlos Alberto URUBUPUNGÁ
Age: 56 years old – Time in the job: 5 years
The former vice-president of the CCFM was the chosen one to substitute Erasmo Carlos Jowenguard in the command of the CCFM. A safe choice, as Urubupungá knows well how the CCFM works and is likely to work with the same style of Jowenguard. An economist, Urubupungá will use his knowledge to bring more profit to the organization as a whole, something very appreciated by everyone. Also, has a good relationship with the teams chairman. The only doubt is if Urubupungá will be able to keep the fame of the CCFM around the world.

Director of NTs: Counselor-Minister of Marketing RONALDO BUSTOS
Age: 64 years old - Time in the job: 7 years
It didn’t seem a good idea to satisfy the Globo Multimedia directors giving the job of Director of NTs to the son of their president. In fact, it wasn’t a good idea. It’s not that the CCFM is dependent on Globo Multimedia, it’s the opposite. So, the Emperor decided to just appoint one of his Counselor-Ministers for the job. As the job of NT director involves promoting the image of the National Team through the world, he chose the Counselor-Minister of Marketing Ronaldo Bustos, famous for creating good advertisements and improving the image of the country.

Dancougar
19-10-2008, 21:33
Kingdom of Dancougar National Team

Charles DuPont was brought in from Sel Appa after World Cup 39 to build the Dancougar Black Wings into a team that would be respected on the international stage. This was seen as a tall order, considering that World Cup 39 was the team's debut. Nevertheless, he maneuvered them into the quarterfinals of World Cup 40. The team also qualified for World Cups 41 and 42, so you think that the FA would be ecstatic with the results. Ah, but it seemed that the old man was on borrowed time. The FA wanted someone younger and more aggressive to get the team back into the knockout round. Making the jump from the University of Lunarossa, the reigning national champions of college football, is Solomon Bilbao.

Bilbao's Black Wings will play a 3-5-2 with a +2 attacking style, and all games are played in the National Stadium in Yuki City. The probable starters are listed in bold. Ages are given by Dancougar reckoning.

GK - Yuji Watanabe (Clube Imperial (Cafundeu)) (29)
GK - Grady Saville (Yuki City Athletic) (28)

The same goalkeepers return from the previous cup, with Yuji Watanabe getting the start over Grady Saville, who is coming off the best season for a goalkeeper in D-League history, with 27 goals ceded in 34 matches. There are plenty of people who think a lot of that success was due to the Athletic defense, though, so the job remains with Watanabe. Watabane was less streaky in the previous tournament. He didn't gave up more than three goals in a single match, and that only once.

D - Casey Berber (Centralia Cougars (Newmanistan)) (26)
D - Stanley Carter (Grandborough FC) (28)
D - Brad Leeds (Stoneridge United) (27)
D - Milan van der Horst (Yuki City Athletic) (29)
D - Musashi Yamada (Central United (Cafundeu)) (28)
D - Sho Yukikaze (Khalmar-Tijhus (Cafundeu)) (25)

Journeyman defender Brandon Barclay, who seems to move around Cafundeu every season these days, is left off the roster for the first time in national team history; he'd been a mainstay since the debut in Baptism of Fire 26. The trimmer stable of defenders is now led by Casey Berber, who will provide mobility at the central position. Brad Leeds earns his first selection to the national team.

M - Lyle Dylandy (Dunboor FC (Cafundeu)) (25)
M - Anthony Ingram (America (Cafundeu)) (26)
M - Jared Matthews (Stoneridge United) (25)
M - Kazuki Midorikawa (Shuukyuu Kishin) (26)
M - Simon Rafalski (Yuki City Athletic) (28)
M - Kondo Tanaka (Shuukyuu Kishin) (28)
M - Kevin Underwood (IYC Hadaris (Yafor 2)) (27)
M - Alexei Voronzoff (Stoneridge United) (23)
M - Benjamin Whittaker (Shingang (Daehanjeiguk)) (29)

It must be the passing of the guard in the midfield, as well, with longtime midfielders Jericho Leyton and Akira Morimoto retiring from international play. The captain's armband passes to Kevin Underwood, who has matured in his time at IYC Hadaris, and analysts think the same should happen to Lyle Dylandy now that he's playing for Dunboor FC, one of the world's premier clubs. Dylandy reinvented himself as a more aggressive midfielder during the previous tournament. The hard-working Whittaker returns, while Anthony Ingram will be a starter for the first time. The bench features several young talents from D-League, including former Oxen Cup midfielders Alexei Voronzoff and Jared Matthews.

F - Augustine Dennin (Yuki City Athletic) (25)
F - Paul Dinsmoor (Shuukyuu Kishin) (26)
F - Shiro Furuya (Atletico Jutense (Cafundeu)) (28)
F - Shishio Jinguuji (Central United (Cafundeu)) (27)
F - Dan Potts (Port Royal FC) (26)

Hideo Ikeda retired from international play, although he didn't figure prominently in the previous tournament. That was the explosive debut of Dan Potts, who led the team in scoring during World Cup 42 qualifying. Potts and Jinguuji will once again lead the strike force, with eternal backup Shiro Furuya the third choice ahead of Dinsmoor and Dennin.

Terreiro de Ogum

THE INDEPENDANT TERRITORY OF TERREIRO DE OGUM TEAM LIST FOR THE WORLD CUP 43

Style is -2.8 or -4.5 [if limit is -5]

ÈPA BÀBÁ! After years trying to get our independence, our lovely country of Terreiro de Ogum was finally able to escape from the control of Estresse Intenso’s government (although that control was already inexistent). Now we are a country, thanks to our mystical power and thanks to Olorun, our great god! And, now, using our magic abilities, team work, faith and different practices, with the help of our Orixás (Orisha), we will now try to win games against the biggest opponents. Oxalá we will win something! Now, see our list of players:

“Oxalá guie nossos guerreiros do futebol rumo a vitória, usando o poder de Ogum, o apoio de Iemanjá e o braço forte de Xangô!”

The 26 players (yes, Terreiro de Ogum has 26 players in its roster) – use the names in BOLD in the RPs (no need to put their names in capital letters too, please):

Each player has a pre-game ritual, which will be made in every game that they play as starters only. There are 5 levels of spiritual strength: very low, low, average, high and very high.

Goalkeepers (the hands that hold our faith):

1- Baitolah BIBAH
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Iemanjá.
Spiritual Strength: Average.
Info: Baitolah Bibah is the most talented goalkeeper of Terreiro de Ogum. Born and raised in the territory, Baitolah is an orphan rose by a famous mãe-de-santo, and learnt how to prepare medicinal recipes to help the ill with her. He is funny, talkative and loves to show himself to the public. He is homosexual, and often makes jokes of the opponents of Terreiro de Ogum.
Pre-Game Ritual: a lover of foreign music, Baitolah Bibah is the last member of the team to enter in the field, wearing his full pink goalkeeper clothes. When he enters, the music “I Will Survive” is played (or other music associated with homosexuality).

12- Wladmir Girnos Bueno “PAPAGAIO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Ayrà.
Spiritual Strength: Average.
Info: this man is crazy. Seriously. Wladmir, usually known as Papagaio, can’t communicate well with other people. He has serious difficulties in creating phrases of his own. He lives in a small village, where he works as a mechanic. His life isn’t special, but now he has been recruited to play in the National Team, due to his incredible agility. He is called Papagaio (parrot in Portuguese) because, as he can’t create his own phrases, he repeats what the other people say.
Pre-Game Ritual: if Papagaio plays as a starter, this means that Bibah isn’t playing. So, Papagaio will be the last player to enter in the field, making gestures to his teammates, who probably won’t understand him.

22- Bianca Marçal Nínive “CIRCENSE”
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Obá.
Spiritual Strength: High.
Info: this young woman is just 16 years old, but became the third choice of the Terreiro de Ogum National Team for the goalkeeper position due to her incredible elasticity and acrobatic moves (she is a circus star), that help her to make saves with less difficulty. She lives in a small village that doesn’t have a terreiro, so she’s not much linked with Umbanda rituals. But she is very sensitive and can feel the presence of the orixás.
Pre-Game Ritual: if Circense plays as a starter, she’ll be the first player to enter in the field (yes, even before Preto Véio). She’ll look extremely happy and will make some acrobatic moves, a small show for the supporters.

Full-Backs (the messengers of our future):

2- Ananias dos Santos “BICHO GRILO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Exú.
Spiritual Strength: High.
Info: the terreiro leaders usually are the ones that make the homemade medicines, but Bicho Grilo is the one that finds the ingredients. With extremely high knowledge of the plants and animals that live in the terrain of Terreiro de Ogum, Bicho Grilo can easily survive in the jungle and find any kind of plant there. Due to his love for nature, you can find him talking with animals, but this usually happens only after he smokes his marijuana, something that he does daily (every hour, I should say).
Pre-Game Ritual: one of the last players to enter in the field, Bicho Grilo enters in an extremely low pace; walking on the grass and feeling it (he doesn’t wear shoes). He has long hair and beard, and smokes marijuana in the field (if it isn’t a country where marijuana is prohibited).

6- Ubiratan de Carvalho Quirino “TOQUINHO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Xangô.
Spiritual Strength: Low.
Info: brother of another starter of the National Team, Guaxinim, Toquinho is a dwarf, and is a bit taller than his brother. He has an incredible speed, and due to that usually works as a messenger in the territory, making the contact between different terreiros possible. When playing football, Toquinho is responsible for fast counterattacks and good long passes, but doesn’t score many goals.
Pre-Game Ritual: Toquinho will be one of the first players to enter in the field. He likes to show his speed to the supporters, so he’ll enter with full speed, reaching his position in few seconds.

16- Joe Hi-Kim “ZEN”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Oxumaré.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: the Umbanda attracts many people, who were used to follow a different religion. But unlike other religions, the Umbanda practitioner doesn’t have to abandon his former religion to get into contact with the orixás. And this situation was perfect for Zen. Follower of Shinto, Zen went to Terreiro de Ogum to learn about the place where strange rituals where being made. He loved the place, and started living here. Zen is a formidable defender, calm and secure, and has a high spirituality.
Pre-Game Ritual: if Zen plays as a starter, he’ll enter in an intermediate position in the order of players. He’ll walk quietly to his position, wave to the supporters of both teams, and later meditate a bit to be concentrated for the game.

23- HORÁCIO Valente “BAIXOTE”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Ibeji.
Spiritual Strength: Very Low.
Info: Horácio Baixote is the third dwarf of the Terreiro de Ogum National Team. Cousin of the starters Toquinho and Guaxinim, Horácio Baixote is much younger than them, and because of that his football talent isn’t developed. If he has one. He isn’t a very good player, but has a very good fighting spirit. So bad that he lacks strength, otherwise would be a very good defender because of that.
Pre-Game Ritual: Horácio Baixote will enter in an intermediate position in the order of the team. He’ll enter with the ball, controlling it and reaching the middle of the field.

Defenders (the guardians of our honour):

3- Maria Celeste Ernestelli “RECLUSA”
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Yewá.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: no one knows from where she came exactly, or about her life before reaching Terreiro de Ogum. All they know about her was in her documents, a passport from Cafundéu and a library card. She was adopted by a mãe-de-santo when she was only a child, and soon it was discovered that she is extremely sensitive, being able to have contact with spirits and to being possessed by them. This power has been explored by her “mother”, and she is now famous because of her ability. When not possessed, she doesn’t speak with anyone, with the exception of her “mother”.
Pre-Game Ritual: in fact, Reclusa doesn’t have any special pre-game ritual. She will enter before Bibah, so will be one of the last ones to enter. She will quietly go to her position in the field.

4- Jorge Diniz Sodré “PRETO VÉIO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Nanã.
Spiritual Strength: High.
Info: this man is a wanderer, known in the whole territory. A nice, calm man who likes to chat with everyone, from the commoner to the powerful mãe or pai-de-santo. But he specially enjoys chatting with the children, telling histories to them about his adventures. He has no enemies, and can be considered the most honest and respected person in Terreiro de Ogum.
Pre-Game Ritual: Preto Véio is the first player to enter in the field, going directly to the sector of the stadium where the Terreiro de Ogum supporters are. He’ll wave to them and after that will shake hands with his opponents, being nice with everyone.

13- José Carlos Pereira Filho “ZECA DA PONTE”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Oxóssi.
Spiritual Strength: Low.
Info: although Terreiro de Ogum’s authorities try to make the country successful in social equality, there are many things to do yet. When the territory was under the control of Estresse Intenso, there wasn’t social equality, but now, with the independence, the leader pai-de-santo is trying to give better conditions for the poor. Zeca da Ponte is one of these poor people. He lives under a bridge, sometimes without something to eat, completely miserable. But, as a player, Zeca da Ponte has some ability as a defender, and can get something to eat during the competitions.
Pre-Game Ritual: when Zeca da Ponte is selected as a starter, he enters in the field and asks the referee for food. Searches the field for some bread or other kind of food. If he doesn’t find anything, becomes very frustrated.

16- Janaína Soraya Couto “RAINHA”
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Iyami-Ajé.
Spiritual Strength: High.
Info: the woman with most children in Terreiro de Ogum, Rainha has family ties with a lot of people, as her mother also had many children. She is not a mãe-de-santo, but is good at making rituals to call the orixás too. She is a bit crazy, so sometimes can become angry without reason or complain about things that didn’t happen. She is very respected by the citizens of Terreiro de Ogum, as she is the leader now of the biggest family (in number of people) of the country.
Pre-Game Ritual: Rainha loves her family. So, she’ll enter the field behind Pai Berto if put as a starter, being accompanied by her children (all her 16 children), giving a kiss on each of them before the start of the game.

20- Victor Cirino da Alvorada “BEBUM”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Egungun.
Spiritual Strength: Low.
Info: Bebum is another drunken man of Terreiro de Ogum, as Pinguinha. The difference between them is that Bebum doesn’t have to look after money to be able to buy his cachaça or beer. No, the other people give him money for him to do so. Why? Because Bebum, even drunk, has always everything interesting to talk about, and is also a good snooker player. In football, is just average.
Pre-Game Ritual: Bebum won’t enter in the field with a bottle of cachaça. No. He will enter with a barrel of beer. Will offer it to his teammates and to his opponents, and later will go to his place in the field.

Defensive Midfielders (holders of our home):

10- PAI BERTO de Tucumã de Obalatá
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Obalatá/Oxalá.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: son of the “leader” of Terreiro de Ogum, Pai Alcir de Macaé, Pai Berto is a talented pai-de-santo, who focuses on helping the people of the territory in the area of health. Some people say that Pai Berto has a better sensitivity than his father, and that he is a natural leader. His knowledge of the orixás and of the umbanda magic became legendary. Now in the National Team, Pai Berto is the captain and “boss” of the team, with more powers than the coach.
Pre-Game Ritual: while Preto Véio is the first one to enter in the field, Pai Berto is the second. He enters with his full-white clothes, wore by all pais-de-santo, and raises his arms to the sky, before making homage to the orixás.

5- DONA ROSA Lozano Pumete
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Ossaim.
Spiritual Strength: Average.
Info: this old woman is a very good football player, and one of the major negotiators of Terreiro de Ogum. She makes contact with other countries, and this is very important to guarantee the autonomy of the country. She isn’t much involved in the religious ceremonies of the country, but she likes watching them, and, because of that, has some knowledge about them.
Pre-Game Ritual: Dona Rosa isn’t one of the first or one of the last players to enter in the field. In fact, she doesn’t do anything special. Just enters in the field and talks with each player of the Terreiro de Ogum team.

15- Rafael Rocha Brumes “ARMÁRIO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Xangô.
Spiritual Strength: Average.
Info: the most strong person of the team. Without any doubt. Armário is 2 meters tall and weighs a lot too. But he isn’t overweight, he is strong. He is the security guard of Pai Alcir de Macaé, and no other person of the country have the courage to fight against him. Only his presence intimidates the opponents. In the National Team, will play as defensive midfielder, and will probably win many tackles.
Pre-Game Ritual: if Armário plays as a starter, he’ll enter in the field together with Pai Berto, looking at the stands to try to see if there’s someone or something that can harm the pai-de-santo.

24- MÃE EDITH de Maná de Ifá
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Ifá.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: an evil mãe-de-santo, Mãe Edith is the only one of the team that you can accuse of making “black magic”. She is a very talented mãe-de-santo, with an enormous knowledge of rituals and of the orixás, and very strong spirituality. Too bad that she decided to make rituals to harm others rather than ones to help the people. She is the one that destroy relationships, put illnesses in people, make someone get fired from his/her job, and other bad things. She and Tramóia are the ones that won’t follow Terreiro de Ogum’s policy of respecting an opponent, making dark rituals.
Pre-Game Ritual: Mãe Edith, when playing as a starter, will enter just before Reclusa and Bibah. She’ll use a completely white outfit, will raise her hands to the sky as soon as she enters the field and will say something that no one will understand. She seems very strange and mysterious.

Attacking Midfielders (seekers of our prosperity):

9- Liceu Modesto Babuíno “PINGUINHA”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Oxóssi.
Spiritual Strength: Low.
Info: Pinguinha is a drunken man. He simply loves to drink cachaça, and does the possible to get some money to have something with alcohol to drink. He doesn’t do anything illegal, but everything else… for him, the cachaça is more important than everything else. He is a good football player, even when drunk, and will have sufficient motivation to want to score goals and create plays for the team.
Pre-Game Ritual: Pinguinha enters in the field in an intermediate position in the order. All he does is to get his bottle of cachaça, throw a bit of the liquid in the grass, and then drink the remaining after making a short prayer.

8- Rafael Graziano “TRAMÓIA”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Oxum.
Spiritual Strength: Very Low.
Info: a criminal, expert in stealing, sneaking into places without being noticed and preparing traps for the opponents. Tramóia is one of the few players that won’t respect the opponent, trying to get advantage in every play using dirty tricks. He is very good at making these tricks without being noticed, so it’ll be difficult for him to receive a card, as he probably won’t get caught. He isn’t popular in Terreiro de Ogum for being a criminal, but his talents will be very useful for the National Team, as he’ll be the main responsible for creating offensive plays.
Pre-Game Ritual: Tramóia is one of the first players to enter in the field, but he won’t be noticed until the entrance of Reclusa. He’ll appear in the middle of the field, surprising everyone and laughing, probably holding an item stolen from someone from the stands.

17- Lara Motta Ithiel “POMBA GIRA”
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Exú.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: Lara is just a common woman, who works as a waitress in a famous bar in Macumba, the capital of Terreiro de Ogum. But what Lara doesn’t know is that she has a big spiritual sensitivity, something that was discovered when she went to a terreiro. The spirit of the Pomba Gira possessed her. Now this ability will be used in the football team, as the Pomba Gira is a very good dribbler.
Pre-Game Ritual: Lara will enter in the field without being possessed. When all the players of Terreiro de Ogum have entered, she’ll become the Pomba Gira, shouting and making gestures.

19- PAI Makabi Tomake “ÁFRICA”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Oxalá.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: the person that was the main responsible for the independency of Terreiro de Ogum, Pai África is currently the oldest pai-de-santo alive in the country. He says that he came from África (what’s this? Some kind of spiritual realm?), and knows the orixás and their preferences like no other. He knows rituals that no other pai or mãe-de-santo from Terreiro de Ogum knows. As a football player, can’t play much because of his age, but has an excellent vision.
Pre-Game Ritual: if selected as a starter, which is something very rare, Pai África will enter just after Preto Véio. In fact, he doesn’t need to do anything special. The supporters of Terreiro de Ogum will stand up and applause him.

Attackers (conquers of our glory):

7- Matheus de Carvalho Quirino “GUAXINIM”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Oxumarê.
Spiritual Strength: Average.
Info: brother of another starter of the National Team, Toquinho, Guaxinim is a dwarf, and is a bit smaller than his brother. Good in positioning and good at predicting what the other players will do (thanks to good knowledge of the football), is a very good attacker who will make many assists. He is very fast too, so is a special weapon for the counterattacks, as his passes to his team mate Master Kacet are perfect. Another thing that can surprise many is his good ability at heading.
Pre-Game Ritual: Guaxinim is the one that has the best relationship with the supporters. So, he will be one of the first players to enter in the field, calling the supporters to sing for the team, to send Terreiro de Ogum to the victory.

11- MESTRE Timóteo Hora Novaes KACET
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Ogum.
Spiritual Strength: High.
Info: one of the most famous and influential people of Terreiro de Ogum, Mestre (Master) Kacet is probably the only one that is known outside the territory. He is the best Capoeira master of the world, thanks to his great abilities, superb technique and good reflexes, this among other skills. A football lover too, Mestre Kacet joined the team wanting to use his Capoeira ability to score goals. And he can do that. Most of his moves are a mix between Capoeira and football, so expect to see him scoring goals using acrobatic moves. He is also a very friendly person, and likes to talk with the defender that is marking him.
Pre-Game Ritual: Mestre Kacet’s entrance order isn’t an exact one. He can sometimes enter as one of the last players, or as one of the first ones. But, when he enters, he smiles to the cameras and makes some of his Capoeira moves, to impress everyone, especially his opponents.

18- Sandro Viriatlo “DEMO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Nanã.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: this man has the ability of summon the most evil and devilish spirits. Since he was born, Sandro often did evil things due to the influence of these spirits. He only discovered his spiritual ability after visiting a terreiro, and since then many pais and mães-de-santo are trying to help him to avoid the influence of these spirits, although sometimes they can give some good hints about supernatural things. Demo is the name of the evil spirit that controls Sandro when he plays football, a deadly attacker with an excellent long ranged shot.
Pre-Game Ritual: if Sandro plays as a starter, he’ll immediately be transformed in Demo when he steps on the grass. His expressions and gestures change drastically, and he fights for the ball even before the game starts.

21- Leão do Federal “COBRADOR”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Ogum.
Spiritual Strength: Low.
Info: what is the Leão do Federal doing in this National Team? The answer is easy. No one is better at finding breaches in the opponent’s defence than him. The Cobrador, as he is more commonly called, is the “Tax Collector” of Terreiro de Ogum. As the country doesn’t use money, he gets some food from the families of the country to use in the government’s programs of assist of the poor. The Cobrador is a very determined player, and never will give up of a play.
Pre-Game Ritual: the Cobrador will enter in the field using a black-tie outfit. When he reaches his position in the field, he’ll remove his clothes (no, he won’t play naked. He’ll use the normal Terreiro de Ogum kit) and get prepared to play the game.

25- Pirimeu Tossatto “CIENTISTA”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Iemanjá.
Spiritual Strength: Low.
Info: Cientista is a person that believes in the orixás, but doesn’t believe in their supernatural nature. He doesn’t believe that they are spirits or representatives of the god Olorun. He thinks that they are something physical, which could be explained with the use of the science. Most of our citizens feel sad by him, because it’s certain that the orixás are spirits. As a football player, is a talented attacker.
Pre-Game Ritual: the Scientist (Cientista) will enter in the field with a piece of paper in one hand and a pencil in another, making notes of interesting things that he saw in the entrance of the field. Later, will go to his place in the field.

Joker (plays in all sectors) - (the chosen one):

0- João Miguel “ILUMINADO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: guided by all orixás.
Spiritual Strength: Enormously Huge.
Info: the Iluminado is the chosen one, the one that received the power of being able to see the orixás and contact them when he wants to. All the orixás guide him in his path, and his objective is to bring peace to the people of Terreiro de Ogum and to make them follow the umbanda with faith and justice. He is only able to play 30 minutes per game, and during it he receives all the power from the orixás to triumph, surely a gifted player, someone which qualities aren't of this world.
Pre-Game Ritual: the Iluminado will never start a game. But, before entering in the field, he will raise his hands to the sky, and the sunlight will be directed at him (yes, the sun will do it).

Staff Members (controllers of our destiny):

Coach: Duílio Menezes “BLIND MAGICIAN”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Iansã.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: Duílio, called Blind Magician by nearly everyone (only his mother calls him Duílio) is a pai-de-santo with good leadership and some abilities as a football coach, thanks to his contact with spirits of dead football coaches. His style is very defensive and cautious, that’s why Terreiro de Ogum is a defensive team. He is blind, but has a supernatural perception that allows him to walk and do other things like if he could see.
Pre-Match Ritual: when the Blind Magician enters in the field, he gets some grass from it and eats it. After that, he makes a short prayer and goes to his place in the bench, in a very slow way.

Assistant: ÍRIS Duarte Serafim
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Yewá.
Spiritual Strength: Average.
Info: the assistant of the Blind Magician is probably the most common member of the team. She is a young woman, who works together with the Blind Magician in his terreiro, helping him to prepare the rituals. She has knowledge about the orixás, but lacks spiritual strength. She is very happy with her life and loves helping her master, but her job is very simple.
Pre-Game Ritual: Íris enters together with the Blind Magician, following him and watching him to see if he will fall (she knows that he can walk alone, but still worries for her master).

[I]Formation: basic 4-4-2 (style is -2.8 [if limit is -3] or -4.5 [if limit is -5]):

-------------------------Bibah-------------------------
--Bicho Grilo-----Reclusa-------Preto Véio---Toquinho---
-------------Pai Berto----------Dona Rosa--------------
------Pinguinha-------------------------Tramóia--------
--------------Mestre Kacet---Guaxinim------------------

RP Permissions: you're free to choose scorers, send cards to my players (red card limit is 2), RP injuries (light ones) and other things (but these things can't be very unreal (can be a bit unreal) or serious (involving death, arrest, etc.)

Stadium: Terreiro de Ogum do Pai Alcir
Info: part of the big terreiro of Pai Alcir de Macaé, this field doesn’t have grass, only dirt, but is a good place for playing football, as the players will be able to get in contact with the orixás playing in this marvellous place. There are some black chickens walking on this stadium too, and some holes filled with cachaça, so be careful.

Kits (made by JMC):
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c58/Krytenia/TDO40.png

Details about Terreiro de Ogum: this country is in fact a small part of Estresse Intenso that got its independence few years ago. In fact, it already had full autonomy, due to the fact that Estresse Intenso’s government can’t control the country well (the country is a complete anarchy). But, anyway, Terreiro de Ogum is now independent, and due to this could have relations with other countries, something that the territory wasn’t able to do before. One of these things is football. The team couldn’t play in international competitions, but now it’s replacing the Landau Institute, which decided to stop playing in international competitions due to the death of The Machine.

The citizens of the country don’t have money, so they divide everything that they have. Their leader is the most experienced “pai-de-santo”, currently Pai Alcir de Macaé, father of the captain of the National Team Pai Berto de Tucumã, who is a pai-de-santo too. Their language is a mixed of different spiritual languages. The most important fact about the country is its religion. ALL the citizens follow the Umbanda religion, although some of them also respect and practice related religions like Candomblé and Quimbanda (Macumba). You can use Wikipedia to get information about these religions. They make mystical pre-game rituals, but nothing is done to harm the opponent: before everything, they respect their opponents like brothers, and would like to be respected too. Oh… expect some phrases in Portuguese during our RPs.

Cassadaigua is a small nation of only about 74 million people (Of which about 65% are female), located in the equally small region of Vermont. It is a democratic nation but it seems to have a pretty large gap between rich and poor. It is a nation looking to establish itself in the world, and with a population that loves soccer, participating in the World Cup was an easy decision.

Urna Eletronica
22-10-2008, 15:37
The Urna Eletrônica National Team

Urna Eletrônica is a country focused on politics. The biggest events in the country are the elections, and there are elections for everything. So it'd be natural if the team was composed only by politicians. The list of players is below, with their position and team.

Manager - Deodoro da Fonseca: founder of elections in Urna Eletrônica, this man is so old that he doesn't move, talk or do anything. Some say that he is dead.

Starters:

1- Ulysses Guimarães (goalkeeper/PMDB): surely the most experienced player of the team and a bit old to continue playing. But it was his choice to continue playing football, and the fans think that he can die one day playing football.

2- Roberto Freire (defender/PCB): defender of the democracy, dreams of communism in Urna Eletrônica. Defends the equality, the freedom of religion, the universities, but is viewed with suspicion by some people, a barrier for his goals.

3- Paulo Maluf (defender/PDS): this player has problems with the police, but has many loyal friends. Attackers playing against him must not bring their wallets with them, otherwise Maluf will surely steal them and they won’t noticed it. But, if someone discovers that Maluf stole something, he’ll deny and say he had never seen that wallet before in his whole life.

4- Ronaldo Caiado (defender/PSD): this man isn’t popular and it’s difficult to be certain about his ideas. The only thing we know about him is that he has some farms and is one of the leaders in his political parties... well, there he must be popular.

5- Enéas Carneiro (midfielder/PRONA): very popular, but is a target for jokes. Many people don’t think he is really serious, and that he isn’t a true politician, but his style surely conquered the hearts of many. His huge beard (bigger than Lula’s), combined with his way of talking (he talks shouting... always shouting) really makes him noticeable in the field.

6- Guilherme Afif (defender/PL): friend of the defender Maluf, has a past of alliances with army generals and a dictatorship. He tries to avoid being linked with them, so he doesn’t like to talk about the past. Moves a lot inside the field, making many gestures.

7- Leonel Brizola (midfielder/PDT): popular player, is loved by many but hated by many too. He likes to provoke his opponents, and dislikes the media too. He is good at making funny comments, which usually humiliate his opponents. Has the respect of most of the population, but most end deciding by voting on other candidates.

8- Fernando Collor (midfielder/PRN): very charismatic, you’ll like this player, even if you’re playing against him. And he’ll take advantage of this fact to steal money from your bank account until you discover he is controlling your life. Be cautious, you’ll never know when he’ll arrive... he appears when you’re least expecting.

9- Lula (attacker/PT): a strong player full of strange phrases and pronunciation mistakes, he knows how to control the ball well and how to shoot to the goal. He is very popular, but many people don’t trust him, maybe because of his big beard. Poor people see in Lula their representative in the National Team.

10- Mário Covas (attacker/PSDB): solid and serious player, is respected by his team mates, but this doesn’t mean they like him. But he dislikes most of his team mates too. Is a responsible player, and work hard for the team. Doesn’t like to get involved in personal discussions, but, when this happens, he becomes ferocious.

11- Sílvio Santos (attacker/PMB): a businessman that decided to use his popularity to become a politician. He knows nothing about politics, but a lot about personal marketing, so everyone likes him even when he makes mistakes. And, if needed, he can use some of his money to make the media say good things about him.

Substitutes:

12- Marronzinho (goalkeeper/PSP): a poor person that has difficulties even to find something to eat, dreams of using the technology of an important company to find water in his homeland, a dry place. He stays quiet for most of the time but, when he talks, it means that is something very important!

13- Lívia Maria (midfielder/PN): only woman in the team, this is the only important fact about her. Comes to give a feminine touch in the National Team, as she surely doesn’t have a place to play.

14- Paulo Gontijo (defender/PG): well, this man isn’t much popular, but has some friends. Nothing that could help him to win a place in the starting team.

15- Aureliano Chaves (midfielder/PFL): is linked too with the army generals (but much more than Afif, being considered a friend of them), which isn’t good for his popularity. Also, many people from his own party don’t think he is able to win a disputed election.

16- Affonso Camargo Neto (defender/PTB): is friend of anyone that has the power inside the country. Because of that, he has already been a friend of the most different kind of people possible, which isn’t a good thing for his popularity.

17- Celso Brant (attacker/PMN): another experienced player, seems too old to play in the starting eleven. He is popular with older people, but the younger don’t even know him, so this is a curious situation.

18- Antônio Pedreira (defender/PPB): owner of a strong name, this is really the only thing that he has, so he won’t be much noticed in the team.

19- Fernando Gabeira (attacker/PV): probably the most famous politician in the bench, is known for being the defender of freedom, including freedom of using drugs and to make whatever you want to do, being against laws that limit the people’s freedom. Opposed the army generals.

20- Zamir Teixeira (midfielder/PCN): another player that will just fill the bench, won’t be able to take the place of the other politicians, which are much more famous.

21- Manoel Horta (midfielder/PDC do B): surely the least important player of the team, if we don’t count the third goalkeeper.

22- Eudes Mattar (defender/PLP): who is this guy? Well, we don’t know too, but surely it’s just someone to make the bench look full.

23- Armando Corrêa (goalkeeper/PMB): this man is someone that wanted to become a good politician, but decided to give Sílvio Santos a chance, because he knew he’d never win anything. So, he now stays in the most obscure position of the National Team.

Viltek
22-10-2008, 19:04
The Guide to Travelling Rennida says one thing on the people of Viltek.

Run.

It is well known that the Vilteki people hold a hatred for all around them, specifically the citizens of Rennidan. It was Vilteki nomads who shot down Flight 109, killing all of Rennidan’s team last World Cup.

This time round, they’ve decided to throw a chance at the game itself, and have entered the closet thing that resembles a team into this, the 43rd edition of the World Cup.

Style Modifier: -3
Viltek will play in… uh… well, I don’t think they care about formations here.

Uniform

The Vilteki players will be playing in their nation’s ceremonial war gear.

That is to say…

They’ll be playing stark naked.

Unless you count body paint as clothing.

In which case they’d be wearing something

Manager

Uhgo Loluk
Age - 92

The life of a manager is never, ever easy. The life of a wartribe leader who has been responsible for the countless deaths of innocents, however, is probably a wee bit harder.

Goalkeeper

Mucki Fwok
Age - 25
Sex - M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 210 lbs
Fwock is the leader of the Fwubia tribe of Viltek, known for the audacious acts of violence and bloodlust. When he isn’t tearing into another man’s ribcage, he’s often practicing his goalkeeping. He’s the only player on the pitch wearing an item of clothing: his gloves.

The Rest

Quitte Shorrette
Age - 25
Sex - M
Height: 4'1"
Weight: 89 lbs
Call him short at your own peril.

He likes to go for the ankles.

With his teeth.

Phut Brastud
Age - 22
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 312 lbs
Once ate the citizens of a rival village. Proclaims that they ‘tasted like happiness’.

Ogli Fokah
Age - 35
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 166 lbs
This man has taken far too many hits to the head. I didn’t even think it was humanly possible for someone’s nose to end up there on their face.

Loavleh Muves
Age - 19
Sex - M
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 123 lbs
With the grace and speed of a… uh… really graceful speedy thing, Loavleh is by far the team’s best mover on the pitch.

Rotuhn Mow-Thah
Age - 41
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 144 lbs
This man has no teeth. His breath is worse than the smell coming from a Bostopian gentleman’s lav.

Harry Fellow
Age - 31
Sex - M
Height: 6’1"
Weight: 161 lbs
At first, we thought this guy was actually a werewolf. But, no, we were wrong. He’s just really goddamned hairy.

Shuht Yooup
Age - 23
Sex - M
Height: 6'7"
Weight: 240 lbs
If you’re likely to get punched in the face playing this guys (and, let’s face it, you are), then Shuht is probably the guy that’s doing the punching. He’s one vicious tribal nomad.

Rhipt Bhitc
Age - 21
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 155 lbs
This guy is only on the team because of the overwhelming female support in his ‘nation’. They love him, so he gets to play. I’d criticize this, but they’d probably kill me.

Wivry Mahn
Age - 63
Sex - M
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 103 lbs
Wivry is the eldest playing member of the team. He may be old, but some kind of black magic Vilteki witch doctor mumbo jumbo hocus pocus has made him pretty damned good.

Patches
Age - 3
Sex -M
Height: About a foot and a half.
Weight: I don’t think they weighed him.
Patches is a hunting dog. Like all dogs, he has a fondness for chasing balls. Apparently, the Vilteki people thing this will be a handy thing in football.

So there it is, a team composed of 10 nomads and a dog.

Their chances of winning?

It’s a sure bet, right?

Right?

Home Away

Manager

Orophin Anárion
Age: 24,568
After taking both the U21 and senior sides to World Championships, there is little left for this once afterthought of a manager to do. Orophin has a vision though, of creating such a dominance in international football by elvenkind that bards will be singing of their conquests for centuries to come!

Assistant Manager

Nienna Lossëhelin
Age - 12,387
The short little red head did her job to perfection last tournament, as the side went undefeated through the entire tournament, looking motivated in every game. She also has this squad acknowledging their defensive responcibility, something that managers and assistants had been failing to do so for many tournaments.

Keeper

1 Amarian Tinehtelë, Ourseville 1093 (Septentronia) ~
Age - 806
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 171 lbs
Amarian comes from a long line of footballers. with the majority being keepers and backs, and he decided to follow family tradition. His lineage did the side well as he made several key saves that kept the side alive in their chase to the Cup.

Defenders

32 Angrod Minyatur, Ammites FE (Vephrall)
Age - 643
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 167 lbs
After what has seemed like a century of continually making the side but never getting into the starting eleven, Angrod has gotten his chance. He has been a solid force over the years for his club in Vephrall, and has shone well in his appearances, the only question is if he can do it as a starter.

12 Dwier Titenburg Jr, FC Capri
Age - 397
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 162 lbs
Titenburg matured massively through the tour of duty in the last tournament and now looks to lead the way with Nickel being dropped from the national team. His youth serves him well, but also holds him back with his lack of a true calming prescence. If he can get the respect of Hocn and Minyatur, then he should fit in perfectly for Nickel.

37 Hizzen Hocn, Cafundó do Juta (Cafundeu)
Age - 633
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 165 lbs
Hocn is a near carbon copy of Nickel in his play, approach to the game, and attitude. He has consistently proven that his level of ability is up to the standards of the international game, and can mark even the best of attackers in the land.

Midfield

24 Espy va Drake, Green Island (Candelaria and Marquez)
Age: 697
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 159 lbs
While his goal talleys where down in his second trip to the national team, he made up for it in providing the team with the second most assists, behind only Laborious Hawk. He has now all but mastered playing on both wings, and is likely the reason why Cristi is now off the side.

17 Jamichel Totez, IYC Ajer (Yafor 2)
Age - 26
Sex - M
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 187 lbs
The promising product has finally peaked, and at quite a convienant time as Alidare hangs up his international boots. Not the situation most fans wanted to see this hot prospect to come into the starting eleven in, but he has the talent to be here, with him almost single handedly guiding Ajer to a title in his first season there.

14 Laborious Hawk, Petardos S/A (Cafundeu)
Age - 661
Sex -M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 213 lbs
Words do not even began to define his talent, his talent defines words. If he is not awarded one of the spots that the Vanorians have in the World Cup Hall of Fame, then there is no justice in the world, as he has and continues to earn it every single day.

19 Antis Morose, Raynor City United
Age - 753
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 161 lbs
It was only a matter of time before the might of Raynor City would give the national team a polished product, and that is what Morose provides out on the wing. He is a vast improvement to Kries, and is able to play on both wings like va Drake. Expect to see the duo constantly changing position through games, and each generating their fair share of scoring chances.

40 Scott Soldarian, Raynor City United
Age - 575
Sex - M
Hieght: 6'1"
Weight: 163 lbs
A very solid force in the middle that is often the person overlooked. Despite his hieritage, and his obvious skills, the oppisition seem to be more keen on Hawk and Alidare, leaving Soldarian free to roam in the middle. This has translated into his club side as well, giving him the oppurtunity to show his superstar quality. These last few years have been a break through, which now has opposing managers now another force to have to plan for in the attack.

Strikers

4 Ikles Razov, Dunboor FC (Cafundeu)
Age - 838
Sex - M
Height: 5"9"
Weight: 148 lbs
His speed and finishing touch are too be admired so much that he is the striker that gets to stay with the senior side. He is going to have to pick up the enourmous amount of slack that Night leaves behind, but he has the mentality and talent to do so. The trick will be adapting to Soler's style of play with soo few games before the important ones come.

8 Calla Soler, Soldarian FC
Age - 27
Sex - F
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 149 lbs
After putting the defenders of the Premiership to the sword the past two years, the young half elf makes her way from the reserves to the starters, thanks in a large part due to Kiso deciding to concentrate on his club ties. She is quite athletic and fiesty, which fits into her game of annoying oppisition to the point where she can capitalize on their mental errors with her pace and touch.

Bazalonian Bazalopes

Coach: James Gaines

Kit:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c58/Krytenia/BAZ43.png

Style: 2 (4-4-2)

Stadiums: TeleBaz Arena, SeaBazalope Arena, CBBC Dome, Drago Soccer Field

With the Bazalopes now firmly in the top 10, numerous injuries have spoiled the old team. Doctors have said that the teams just too old and it's time to inject some wholesale new blood into the team. BFSA President Andrew Coulter agrees, despite some disagreements with his mother. The new Team is as follows:

Strikers -

Hector Ainsley* - Hector has been a strong performer recently in the Bazalonian A League for Fauxhan Utd, he's quite tall and has quite a powerful kick, however the question is, can he lead the team to even greater heights?

David Jones - At one point was a Male Model before his fooballing career, is a bit of an exhibitionist but is quite a tactical strike with numerous set-ups in that brain of his, though he likes to present a bit of a dutz facade.

Midfielders:

Louise Van Houten -Another strong performer in A League Louse, is so far the best female midfielder in the nation but she is a bit weird and can be a bit erratic (Which can cause problems for Both Bazalonia and their opponents). However she is very fast and can control the ball.

Kennard (Kennie) Howard - Kennie is infact Louise's husband the two of them play for the same team and compliment each other, if anyone can read what Louise can do it's Kennie

Justin Cole - Justin, What can be said about Justin can be summed up in one word. Short. He is however very nimble for a man of his size and the size difference usually allows for some very creative play from this individual

Gregory Jones - A strong midfielder Gregory is the consistant rock that keeps the team together, he acts like a sort of vice-captain. Seeing the lead from Hector Ainsley and supporting anyone that he needs to. Gregory doesn't have much stats but he's almost the foundation for the entire team.

Ian Keighnan - Not much especially can be said about Ian except that he's very good at what he does

Defenders:

Zhan Xiu - Another Bazalonian Defender of Oriental descent Zhan perhaps may look like the odd one out but he is a very strong team player.

Trent Gould - Nephew of Nev Gould a famous retired Bazalonian Sports Journalist Trent has taken up where his Aunt couldn't actually playing in the Bazalopes, indeed a great honor.

Lleyton McEvoy - A strong and large man that can move quickly and precision if necessary, Lleyton is the hammer that that pounds their opponents strikers and makes life as miserable as possible

Robert Goodrem - Another strong and large man Robert and Lleyton worktogether so that the ball does not get past them let alone opposing players

Goalkeeper:

Leisel MacDonald - The second and last female in the team Leisel almost has a 6th sense about the ball, what is going to happen to it and where it's going to be.

Football Association of the International League of Yafalonia and Bazor 2, unofficially it is also known as Football Association of the International League (FAIL), but as Football Associal of the International League of Yafalonia and Bazor 2 is too weildy, most people call it fail.

FAIL's HARD Inter-International Team is Headed up by Yafalonia's Narin Valandar, and Bazor 2's Bob Tresgovsken.

Foward - Racheal Kneal(Bazor 2) - Rachael is known for her goal celerbrations, they leave alot to the imagination as she somehow makes people think she'll whipp of her top with-out ever doing so.

Forward - Miso Kite (Yafalonia) - Miso is, and will continue to be, the greatest striker who has ever lived. When he was young, there were questions about whether he was so good that he was "above maturity", but now, as he as gained six months of age, those questions have disappeared. Miso remains the only striker in history whose injury in a season is enough to make people accept his club's bad season easily. In his spare time, Miso saves cats from trees and helps old ladies across streets. Oh, and he can fly, too. He is Miso Kite after all.

Defender - Umar Ventrarar (Yafalonia) - Big, tough, and stupid. He's pretty much your prototypical center defender. What he can't knock down, he runs over.

Defender - Barelien Koliensar (Yafalonia) - Less big and less tough, but he's still pretty stupid. Instead of trying to run things over, he tries to "surreptitiously" knock people down, resulting in a lot of fouls and a lot of cards from the referees.

Defender - Mashan Vaginicinar (Yafalonia) - He's the Yafalonian all-time track star. He's a sprinter and a long-distance runner. If you're near the goal, he'll come in time and stop you. He can run up, too. He's got enough stamina to not be tired. His one problem is, you know, stopping...

Midfield - Daris Caollan (Yafalonia) - He's actually the governor of a province in Yafalonia and Bazor 2 - he's a politician and has run for office. In fact, the only reason he's even got on the team is because he managed to start a petition and pressure the government, and do all kinds of things like that.

Midfield - Raethar Vanlaez (Yafalonia) - Caollan's running mate. He spends his free time as a male model.

Midfield - Frederick Hammerstead(Bazor 2) - Not afraid to get dirty, Frederick is never clean, infact somehow he manages to damage almost anything he comes in contact with.

Midfielder - Peter Pumpkin-eater(Bazor 2), Yep he eats Pumpkin's, no one is aware of his proper lastname but who cares... He eats pumpkins raw everywhere he goes... How he makes a good football player is anybodies guess.

Defender - Harry Delany (Bazor 2) - Harry, is oddly very long, he stands 211cm (7' 3") perhaps more at home in the basketball ring, his long legs make for great control of the ball, and greater talking range as well.

Keeper - Graham Noh'arms(Bazor 2) - Graham is notable in the team for the lack of arms, apparently after an altercation with King Arthur in which he lost his arms (claiming it was only a flesh wound). Graham gave up hs job as the black knight and started playing football. "You don't need arms for football!" That's his famous quote, however one might argue you need arms for being a goalie.

RP Permisions. Everything allowed. GODMODING ENCOURAGED FOR HUMOUR!

With the OFC over, and a championship under their belt for the first time since ... well, the BoF really...

The Imperial Football Association of the Celestial Regency of Daehanjeiguk presents to you to roster for the Imperial Han Football Team for WC43.

http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t156/daehanjeiguk/Football/kit.png

Playing Style: +2
Principal Formation: 3-5-2 (D-M-F)

Goalkeepers:

Bong Junho (奉俊昊|봉준호) - #1
Club: Sanghae FC

After a tense Season 8 in the IFL, Bong Junho has finally won out the favor of Coach Ioshido Toki. After leading Sanghae to their first League Title, Bong Junho won the place as starting goalkeeper, although it's going to take some time before Kim Jongguk steps off the plate for the long term, since he's defintely got the better international experience.

On Bench
Yang Gyuseong (楊圭腥|양규성) - #12
Club: Hanseong FC

Kim Jongguk (金鍾國|김종국) - #18
Club: Hangyeong FC

Defenders:

Yi Beomsuk (李範奭|이범석) - #2
Club: Atlético Jutense (Cafundéu)

Transferred to the Cafundelense side just this past season, Yi Beomsuk has remained a stalwart part of the Han defense. Whether or not his success in the CCFM translates into success at the international scene (and vice versa) is another matter, but we're confident that Ioshido Toki has made the right choice regardless.

Kim Yongji (金永智|김용지) - #3
Club: Gamsuk FC

Gamsuk didn't have a particularly bright season, but Kim certainly did. And the way that Season 9 is turning out, he might yet prove that Gamsuk can do more. And with his experience at the international level, Ioshido might be counting on that cohesive spirit that makes Kim Yongji the center of defense.

Kim Namil (金南一|김남일) - #4
Club: Jonam FC

Kim Namil is an oldie, and with his reselection to the Imperial Team, there's certain to be a more aggressive style of play. Renowned for his record holding of cards (yellow and red), Kim Namil is essentially the person to count upon when tackling a person (unless it's in the box, in which case, watch out). But maturity has lent some experience to the way in which Kim deals his blows.

On Bench
Kim Jingyu (金珍圭|김진규) - #13
Club: Hanseong Gukjei

Yang Manchun (楊萬春|양만춘) - #14
Club: Sanghae FC

Hui Yongjun (回龍準|회용준) - #19
Club: Shingang FC

Yi Suyeong (李秀英|이수영) - #20
Club: Hanseong FC

Midfielders:

Go Jeongun (高正云|고정운) - #5
Club: Gwangdong FC

Not too popular outside of Gwangju, but he's a fast player who's great on defense. He makes the chips and lobs that everyone craves and seldom gets the credit for making the big moves. But luckily Ioshido doesn't have a blind eye to Go.

Baek Jihun (白智勳|백지훈) - #6
Club: Cheonjin FC

Baek Jihun is - by contrast - far more popular and probably far more skilled. One of the best midfielders, he's well known for his talent to make goals from any angle. Unfortunately, he does have some sort of playboy attitude that makes him the center of any attention available. Nonetheless, he does a very good job, and manners we'll leave to Ioshido to handle.

Yi Yeongpyo (李榮杓|이영표) - #7
Club: Hanseong FC

A wonderful talent, Yi Yeongpyo contrasts with both Baek Jihun and Go Jeongun - in fact, he contrasts with everyone. He's very skilled, very popular, very mature, but he's also very inconsistent. It's been one thing that's hurt him in the past, but his homily style makes him forgivable. Doubtless, he's made too few mistakes thus far to erode at Ioshido's confidence.

An Pilrip (安必立|안필립) - #8
Club: Porto Lacruz (Cafundéu)

Handed the talismanic #8, An Pilrip is one of the youngest players on the pitch on the team. And he's one of the best too. He's been a feature at the DBC tournaments, and now that he's too old for the tournament, he'll have to make his fortune in the main WC tournament; fortunately, he's had a head start, and Ioshido looks to be nurturing his talent with close anticipation.

Song Jongguk (宋鐘國|송종국) - #9 (C)
Club: Atlético Insular (Cafundéu)

Now more Cafundelense than Han, Song Jongguk has been in the CCFM for as long as he's been on the team. And he's certainly getting older. But he certainly isn't getting any worse. In fact, he's taken up the senior position on the team and looks to make a similar stance at his home club on the island. Needless to say, he knows how to make things work, and it's principally why Ioshido has him at the helm of the team.

On Bench
Kim Byeongji (金秉址|김병지) - #15
Club: SC Lasft (Cafundéu)

Yi Eulyong (李乙容|이을용) - #16
Club: Gangso FC

An Yeonghak (安英學|안영학) - #21
Club: Jonam FC

Pak Yongho (朴容昊|박용호) - #22
Club: Gamsuk FC

Strikers:

Kim Daeeui (高正云|고정운) - #10
Club: Albrecht FC (C&M)

The veteran striker for many years - you'd wonder when he's going to retire finally. Nonetheless, he's still in top form, after some troubling years. And his talent has finally found a home away in Candelaria And Marquez, with Albrecht FC. He's certainly old, but he'll be glad to know that he remains the "classical" Han player that every little boy and girl aspires to be (or maybe he won't - depending on how he views his age).

Jeong Jihun (鄭智薰|정지훈) - #11
Club: Hangyeong FC

Considerably younger, Jeong Jihun is one of the fastest growing talents. He still has years to gain on experience, but losing Kim Daeeui won't be too great a tragedy with Jeong to take up the reins. Taking the world by storm during WC38Q, the Han would have qualified for the WC, except by some grace the team failed to win against the very team that qualified (Geisenfried). Still, he has a special place on this team.

On Bench
Kim Mihyeon (金美賢|김미현) - #17
Club: Caires City (C&M)

Pak Gyuseon (朴圭善|박규선) - #23
Club: Gamsuk FC

Coach
Ioshido Toki (吉田土岐|요시다토기)

World Cup Head Coach/Manager since World Cup 40, Ioshido Toki started as a prolific coach for the CCFM, before taking up on an "offer he couldn't refuse" following Cha Beomgeun's retirement after World Cup 39. Now for the 3rd World Cup Qualification Tour (40, 42, 43), he's gotten plenty of experience and seems poised to take on the task with relative ease. Astonishingly, he boasts one of the best qualification records of any coach, but he has struggled at the World Cup (except at his home country in Cafundeu, where the only tarnish on his record was a 3-0 loss to Valanora in the Quarterfinals). Doubtless, Ioshido will be looking to do one better than the last cup and making the Final - certainly a difficult task for anyone. But if anyone is able to tackle the task, it would be Ioshido Toki.

Newmanistan
23-10-2008, 07:51
We’ve reached World Cup 43! Will this be the Cup that Newmanistan finally qualifies for, or will they be destined for an opportunity to defend the Cup of Harmony title? Fan expectations are for a World Cup proper appearance, so let’s see what happens.

First, the technicalities:
Team Nickname: The Rockets
Style Modifier: +2
Formation: Generally, Newmanistan plays a 4-3-3.

If you RP first, you may.......
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: Yes (but only say they are hurt. I’ll determine the severity)
Godmod injuries to my players: NO
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes, but no more then one per game.
Godmod other events: TG your idea for approval first. I’m open to doing some things, though do not wish to do death/stadium damage/or sci-fi type stuff.

Additionally, if you are the type that likes to use real world pictures in roleplays, then please do not show anything Newmanistanian (such as a dejected opponent in the background of your player scoring) or would be interpreted as being Newmanistanian (such as if it is a home game of us and there’s part of a stadium displayed). I have a very, very strong dislike for the use of real world images used in NationStates Roleplay and ask for this to be respected when we are directly involved. Computer generated images are fine as long as you put the same effort putting us in our proper colors as you will with your players.

Home/Away/Alternate (Keeper)

All Caps and Goals are current!

**** COACHING STAFF ****

Manager: Brian Carson Managerial Caps: 95
Age: 55
Club Team: Pocono City Capitals
Background: Carson has been the manager of the Rockets ever since we made the splash onto the interregional scene. He’s been successful in the role, leading the team to the Baptism of Fire 27 and Cup of Harmony 34 championships and also has a sparkling Di Bradini Cup managerial record. He knows that will mean nothing if the team doesn’t qualify for the World Cup, but there is no official pressure on him from the Empress to do so. That pressure will just come from within himself and from the fans. He’s a likeable coach, and a tactical wizard. He, like several of the players, will achieve their 100th cap during qualifying.

Assistant: Chris Merrill
Age: 48
Club Team: Dover City Mountaineers
Background: Merrill has been an assistant of Carson’s since World Cup 40. They have a pretty good rapport with one another, and Merrill is retained due to his experience. Last Cup, they had Eric Andrews as an assistant along with Merrill, but Andrews turned down the assistant job this year.

Assistant: Kevin Dalton
Age: 43
Club Team: Pittstown Miners
Background: Dalton played 16 years for Carson in goal with the Pocono City Capitals, and was his assistant coach in Di Bradini Cup 6, and was slated to be that again if there was a 7th. Kevin was a terrific student in his time with Pocono City, and brought that to Pittstown, a “B League” team that named him coach. He got the Miners promoted, and has since established them into a solid mid-pack team. Dalton was the starting keeper for the Rockets in the Baptism of Fire through the World Cup 41 cycle of events.

And now, here are the starting eleven!

**** GOALKEEPER ****
Name: Corey Hennis Caps: 62 Clean Sheets: 13
Position: GK
Age: 30
Number: 81
Club Team: Springfield Thoroughbreds
Background: Hennis has continued to evolve as the top goalkeeper in the Empire, and he has been especially good lately as he is entering what should be the prime of his career. Hennis was the starting keeper in World Cup 41, as well as on the Di Bradini Cup 4 & 5 teams, so he has plenty of experience. Brian Carson has a ton of confidence in him, and even though Chris Kusler has really been coming on of late, this is Corey’s spot to lose, and right now, he doesn’t seem to be about to lose it.

**** DEFENDERS ****
Name: Jeremy Brooker (Assistant Captain) Caps: 95 Goals: 1
Position: LB
Age: 31
Number: 5
Club Team: Dunboor FC (Cafundeu)
Background: Brooker has developed into one of the top defenders in the world, and plays exceptionally well for Dunboor FC, one of the top teams in Cafundeu. His defensive awareness makes him one of the best ever, and he is not afraid of physical contact. He has great leadership abilities, and will be in his second tour of duty as the assistant captain. Jeremy has been a staple on Newmanistan roster, his entry on the team always an automatic when Carson fills it out.

Name: Tony Borsinger Caps: 66 Goals: 0
Position: LCB
Age: 30
Number: 6
Club Team: Tundra Falls Mariners
Background: Borsinger returns to the starting lineup after having to sit out much of the World Cup 42 cycle with an ACL tear. While that injury did slow him down, it’s not that detrimental because Tony’s game has never been about speed anyway. He is a defensive defender, and is always in the right position. At 6' 8", he will win the battle for headers more often not, so teams are advised not to challenge him. Tony is also the spiritual leader of the team, leading the team in a pre-game prayer before every match.

Name: Scott LaFave Caps: 6 Goals: 0
Pos: RCB
Age: 20
Jersey #: 7
Club Team: Daytopia Racers
Bio: Scott is a tall, aggressive defender who is wise beyond his years, mainly because he plays for such a horrible team in Daytopia. His Racers always seem to be defending, so while frustrating, it has made him a better player quicker. He takes no crap from the other team, and isn’t afraid to take a chance with a hard tackle. Usually, he is smart about it, but it will probably see him get booked every now and then. LaFave was slated to play in the 7th Di Bradini Cup and possibly be the captain there, and the fact that he has skyrocketed past older defenders show how far is coming so very quickly.

Name: Michael Harrison Caps: 43 Goals: 1
Position: LCB
Age: 29
Number: 8
Club Team: Pocono City Capitals
Background: Harrison is really developing into quite a player. It doesn’t hurt that he plays for one of the NPL’s most dominant teams. He was Carson’s first-choice defensive substitute in World Cup 41, and started four years later. He’s bulked up too in recent years, making him a greater physical presence.

*** MIDFIELDERS ***

Name: Dale Stevens (Caps/Goals TBD)
Position: LM
Number: 16
Age: 26
Club Team: Dover City Mountaineers
Bio: Stevens “won” this spot by his Oxen Cup 8 performance, as this was the main starting position that was considered up for grabs for a player on the “B” team to go get. He got the job not only because of his excellent play in the Q Continuum, but also because he was the only player that pretty much everyone agreed was one of the leaders of that team and someone everyone generally got along with. Helping also was that he did play alongside Parnett in the 5th Di Bradini Cup, which he will again here.

Name: Alex Parnett (Caps: 56 Goals: 12)
Position: CM
Age: 28
Number: 10
Club Team: Albrecht Turkish (Candelaria And Marquez)
Background: Parnett has everything you want in a center midfielder. His ball control skills are outstanding, and when coupled with his speed, he is a true offensive force. But at the same time, he is responsible defensively. Despite his outstanding talents, he is not as well known in Newmanistan as he is throughout the world as he is played his whole career overseas, starting in Nethertopia. After one season in Olympia, he signed this deal with Albrecht Turkish, becoming the first Newmanistanian to play in that country, and he was a good choice to be that one.

Name: Brett Prescott (Caps: 86 Goals: 9)
Position: RM
Age: 37
Number: 17
Club Team: A.F.F. (Cafundeu)
Background: Prescott is a fantastic finisher, so good in fact, that he could probably play up front. But his ability to control the midfield makes this the ideal sport for him. Brett is extremely physical with a mean streak. He is often assigned to the opponent’s top goal scorer to “rough him up” and throw him off his game, and he has succeeded against some great players in the world so far. He doesn’t get carded as much as you’d think because he tries to push the limit of the rulebook, though not always be dirty, and when he is dirty, it’s usually when the ref isn’t looking. In fact, Prescott draws more “retaliation” cards against opponents then he gets himself. Don’t let his age fool you, in fact getting older has only made him get wiser in knowing what he can get away with.

**** STRIKERS ****
Name: Jeremy McAllister (“J-Mac”) *** TEAM CAPTAIN *** Caps: 96 Goals: 72
Position: LS
Age: 31
Number: 20
Club Team: Putnam lake Eagles
Background: What more can be said about Jeremy McAllister. He is the all time leading scorer in Newmanistan interregional play, and is consistently a threat to score in every game. He has everything you want, speed, agility, height, great ball control, and he’s not afraid to be physical with opposing defenders. He is the man that opposing coaches will certainly be most concerned with stopping. He is also a terrific leader and is still in the prime of his career. J-Mac is also the leader in caps, one more then Jeremy Brooker.

Name: Shawn Drummond Caps: 92 Goals: 26
Position: ST
Age: 31
Number: 11
Club Team: Atletico Jutense (Cafundeu)
Background: Likely to be second on the team in goals scored. Drummond and McAllister have been working together since the 4th Di Bradini Cup, and since their rise to prominence has happened at the same time, the two have established an outstanding chemistry with one another. He is a speed burner, clocked as the fastest man on the team, just a bit quicker then J-Mac. Brian Carson is going to be looking for Drummond to score a few more goals this qualifying effort, so we’ll see how that plays out.

Name: Brett Carlson Caps: 15 Goals: 7
Position: ST
Age: 20
Number: 9
Club Team: Pocono City Capitals
Background: The young phenom who made quite an impact at the 6th Di Bradini Cup is ready to be part of the senior team despite just barely being old enough to drink (in Newmanistan, he is). He made an immediate impact playing for Carson and the Capitals, and Brian is obviously very confident in him. He got into six games of World Cup 42 qualifying and hit the back of the net three times. Altogether, he is becoming what we were projecting. “The next J-Mac”.

**** SUBSTITUTES **** (I will occasionally sit a sub and sub a reserve, but if you RP first, just go with these guys as subs if you wish)

Name: Chris Kusler (Caps/Clean Sheets TBD)
Position: GK
Age: 30
Number: 1
Club Team: Putnam Lake Eagles
Background: There are many Newmanistanians who feel that Kusler has surpassed Corey Hennis, and this is becoming a bit of a debate. Kusler, who has been a frequent backup to Hennis, got a chance to start in the 8th Oxen Cup, and performed very well. But when you figure that Corey has 62 international caps and hasn’t actually done anything wrong, it’s his job to lose, so Chris stands on the sideline as a pretty darn good backup plan.

Name: Brent Treichler (Caps: 28 Goals: 1)
Position: CB
Age: 31
Number: 3
Club Team: Southport Tigers
Background: Treichler has interregional experience, though none as recently as the others. He was a sub in the Baptism of Fire, then on the World Cup 40 team, but did not make the World Cup 41 team. Brent used that as inspiration and came back to start in World Cup 42, and returns as a sub here. So, you can say he’s had a pretty interesting journey. He is a hard nosed, physical defender, who will get his share of bookings.

Name: Alex Lampert (Caps: 6 Goals: 0)
Pos: CB
Age: 22
Jersey #: 4
Club Team: Centralia Cougars
Bio: Lampert is one of those great defenders that Centralia seems to have an endless supply of. Alex is a very studious person, taking up after his father, who is brain surgeon. Lampert may have gone in that direction too if not for his football ability. He is very fast, with average height, and average physicality. It’s a tough call to say which defender will be Carson’s first choice, and he will probably play it by game situation.

Name: Julie McElroy
Position: MID
Age: 35
Number: 12
Club Team: Southport Tigers
Background: Julie has had a varied amount of experience on the senior teams so far, but ever since Oxen Cup 6, she has been either a starter of a reserve on all senior team entries. She is fearless, and just because she is female, don’t think that she’s afraid of physical contact. Quite the contrary, really, as she tends to initiate a lot of it. McElroy is versatile, and can also play up front.

Name: Calvin Lane (Caps: 3 Goals: 0)
Pos: ST
Age: 18
Jersey #: 19
Club Team: Putnam Lake Eagles
Bio: Lane has blazing speed, and after being a strategic substitute four years ago, he has really been peaking of late with Putnam Lake, where he plays alongside Jeremy McAllister in the attack. Not having a Di Bradini Cup this year was a major disappointment to Calvin, as it was supposed to be *HIS* cup to showcase his talent. We were a little surprised to see him get this nod, and think it may be more of a compassionate move on Carson’s part. Not that he doesn’t belong, but named as a sub over the Vilardi’s was the surprise.

*** RESERVES ***
Name: Sheldon Talcott (Caps: 28 Goals: 0)
Position: CB
Age: 26
Number: 2
Club Team: Keith Street Enders (Blouman Empire)
Background: Talcott makes his second appearance on the senior team, although some will be quick to note that he was a starter last time around. He was the captain of the Di Bradini 6 team. He’s a lot like Jeremy Brooker in that he generally can outsmart opposing forwards, and anticipate what they are going to do before they do it. Sheldon prefers the left side.

Name: James Seidler (Caps: 6 Goals: 0)
Pos: MID
Age: 23
Jersey #: 18
Club Team: Springfield Thoroughbreds
Bio: Seidler is our next Brett Prescott. He is just as nasty, rough, and aggressive with the opponent, often assigned to the other team’s top scorer to rough him up and get in his head, so that he is looking behind him when he should be focusing. But like Prescott, Seidler is smart about it. He knows when to do it, and when to lay off; thus not getting as many bookings as you might think someone like this would. He can also play the game, he’s got a great finishing touch, and sets up the strikers with outstanding crosses with great frequency. It’d be interesting to see them both on the pitch at the same time.

Name: Jennifer Vilardi (Caps: 16 Goals: 9)
Pos: RS
Age: 22
Jersey #: 15
Club Team: Fairfield City Admirals
Bio: Jennifer and twin sister Shannon are a very exciting combination to watch, for many different reasons. Jennifer has more World Cup experience while Shannon so far has mainly had Oxen Cup interregional experience. They are both outstanding finishers with above average speed, and can be just as physical as the guys. They have also become known for other things, such as Jennifer’s fling with Jeremy McAllister, or Shannon recently catching the eye of one Kate Sallad for the way she well, approaches the game, and the lifestyle surrounding it.

Name: Shannon Vilardi (Caps/Goals TBD)
Position: ST
Number: 14
Age: 22
Club Team: Hastings Crusaders
Bio: Read Jennifer’s.... I combined them!

Ad'ihan play a 3-1-2-1-3 (diamond) formation.

Manager: Luke Evans, 45
Evans, well into his second spell as Ad’ihani manager, is entering the final phase of his contract with the AFF as the coach of the national team, and after failure to make the last 16 at World Cup 42, the pressure is on Evans to produce a side capable of making the last eight — a result that has only been accomplished by the side once to date, under Dave Hollow, who's incidentally in the last phase of his own contract as Yafor 2 manager.

Starting Goalkeeper: Martin Kawn, 25
Kawn, who plays his club football for Oldbridge City, is hot-headed at times and has been sent off three times in his career to date — an amazingly high number for a young goalkeeper. He keeps his spot in the national team following Oldbridge City's AFF Cup title, despite not finishing in the top four in the league. Substitute keeper Ben Ropes has quit international duty, leaving Danny Evans, 23, as the only other goalkeeper with some form of experience of being in the squad. Luke Evans has called up Kinney Road's young 19-year-old goalkeeper Anthony Adams as a standby.

Starting Left back: Sean Brown, 21
Adams' Kinney Road teammate, Sean Brown, 21, retains his starting spot in an unchanged defensive line. With both John Bristow and Kenneth Quinn quitting international football, Evans has been forced to call up two relative unknowns on the international stage, with Francis Cascarro, a 20-year-old with AFC Hatton, and George Richards, another 20 year old, getting the call up to the bench.

Starting Centre-half: Richard Flahavan, 20
Richard Flahavan, along with Brown and right-back O'Sullivan, again keeps his spot in defence. Justin Stenstrom, 29, remains on the bench with a view to coming in as possible much-needed strengthening at the back, while Jed Fisher has retired, forcing Evans to once again call up a new boy, CF Mont-Pluie's James Fernandez, who at 16 years and 103 days becomes the youngest-ever member of a full Ad’ihani squad.

Starting Right back: Darryl O'Sullivan, 21
O'Sullivan, like his two defensive mates, also keeps his starting right-back slot on the team sheet despite some nervy performances in the league for his club County Stanley. Olympique Protectorat's 29-year-old Jeff Dustin again makes the bench for what is expected to be his final tournament with the national side.

Starting defensive midfielder: Peter Schilling, 31
Schilling, one of Ad’ihan's foreign-based players, has made it clear that this is going to be his last international tournament with the national team. It seems quite fitting that Schilling, who plays his club football in Valanora, will end his international career in Valanora — if Ad’ihan make it that far. He has also requested that the vice-captaincy, which he has held for a number of cups, be passed on to someone else.

Barry Miller, 31, Ad’ihan's first-ever anchorman in the national side, has also made it clear that this will be his final tournament, as he is not willing to remain on the bench.

Starting right midfielder: Anthony Jones, 25 CAPTAIN
Vephrall-based Anthony Jones, at 25, continues in his role as the captain of Ad’ihan. The Stithis FE star (and Olympique Protectorat product) is very technically gifted and has proven it consistently at international level and with his club. Simon Labrie, who until the last cup was Jones' understudy, has moved into the starting lineup in left midfield, with Danny Jacobs, who started WC42 in left midfield, falling to the bench as Jones' backup.

Starting left midfielder: Simon Labrie, 28
After years of waiting, Simon Labrie has finally been given the chance to prove himself by Luke Evans. Having spent years as the understudy to young upstart Anthony Jones, Labrie — who plays on both sides of midfield — was said to be feeling underwhelmed, forcing Evans to start him so as not to lose his talent. With Danny Jacobs moving to the bench to cover for Jones, Evans' nephew, Phillip Brennan-Evans, 32, remains on the bench as a replacement for Labrie — but for him, it will also be his final tournament.

Starting attacking midfielder: Jake Holmes, 29 VICE-CAPTAIN
Demot-based Holmes continues in his position as the attacking midfielder for the fifth straight World Cup. With Greg Innisvale, who has been Holmes' understudy for three cups, moving into the starting lineup up front, George Connor, 28 and formerly a starting striker, moves to cover for Holmes this cup. Holmes also inherits the vice-captaincy from Peter Schilling.

Starting strikers: Greg Innisvale, 22; Julian D'Abbo, 35; Kieran Ó Branagáin, 23
Make no mistake about it — Julian D'Abbo may be 35 but Ad’ihan's most-capped player in history is still a mainstay in the starting lineup. Although D'Abbo is not likely to last more than 70 minutes nowadays, he is still potent in front of goal and desperately wants to win the World Cup before retiring from football.

Greg Innisvale moves to the starting lineup, replacing Francis Yang, 26, who falls to the bench. Yang is still expected to see a fair amount of playing time as D'Abbo's replacement — possibly playing up to the equivalent of over three full matches this campaign. Kieran Ó Branagáin also starts up front for his second cup.

Joining Francis Yang on the bench is 30-year-old Steve Bryson, who has indicated that this will be his final tournament.

Secristan

ROSTER

The nation of Secristan has decided that after years of competing in other sports that it is now time to compete in the World Cup. There is one important thing you need to realize about the players that will be competing for us. Unlike other countries which do strange things like have tryouts, or pick the best players off of their domestic teams, and even recognizing that some nations may actually go to the ridiculous extent of compensating their players for their participation. In Secristan, such ideas are considered to be absolutely absurd.

Here, players bid for their spots to represent the country, with the Secristan Department of Sports (SDOS) collecting the proceeds and using them to fatten their wallets. Once they won individual auctions to be part of the team, they then had to bid separately for starting/substitute/and reserve rules. The coach also had to go through this process.

In order for their bids to be valid, candidates had to pass a rigorous physical examination, and be between the ages of 18 and 38, and had to have played a minimum of one year of professional football. So, these aren’t just a bunch of schmucks. They should be quite competitive, and they were able to play to a runner up finish in the Baptism of Fire. Why do the players bother to bid? To get a return on their investment. If they do well, they can sign endorsement deals throughout the country with major domestic companies. They’ve seen it happen already with our team that won the 1st International Basketball Championship.

Is your nation bringing supporters to Secristan? If so, be aware that tickets ARE NOT SOLD on a first come/first serve basis. Instead, tickets are sold via an auction five days before the date of the game. Bids can be submitted online for those from out of the country. All are welcome to place a bid, but do be aware that this is the only way you can get a ticket. Two days later, there is a separate auction for preferred parking spaces outside the arena. Secristan has also adopted the popular Cafundeu "sidewalk usage" tax.

Home Stadium: The 75,000 seat Monopoly Stadium in Amherst (national capital)

Without further delay, here are the winning bidders for our World Cup 43 qualifying attempt. Included are the age, and a couple of their best football attributes.

Secristan will play a 4-4-2.

Baptism of Fire Winners Myedvedeya Announce World Cup 43 Lineup

kit-(Thank you Sorthern Northland)http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/1572/myedvedeyacw5.png

The Myedvedeyan International Football Team, after winning the 30th Baptism of Fire, plan to take on the best teams in the world in the 43rd edition of the world cup.

STYLE MODIFIER: +2

MANAGER:
Prince Vladimir Sergyevitch Bagration
Prince Bagration was a legend in two fields in his youth, first that of football, then that of soldierly. Retiring from the Navy at age 65, he has been welcomed back into the football world with this commission. Has organized the Kamchatka Grizzly Bears into a 4-4-2 formation.

FORWARDS:
#28 Aloyoshenka Vorotaev- Age 19
CLUB- América (Cafundeu)
Vorotaev is a quick, small forward with a deadly finish from any distance. Sometimes lacks control, but will beat pretty much any defender to the ball. Look for Vorotaev to take nearly all set pieces for the squad. Golden Boot winner at the BoF. Is now playing for Cafundelense top division side América.

#9 Aleksander Rozhdestvensky- Age 23
CLUB- Cossack United
Rozhdestvensky, although his last name barely fits on the uniform, will stand out at this tournament. A Wayne Rooney-like combination of size and speed, he will be sure to turn heads. At age 23, he is still coming into his prime, and Myedvedeyans cannot wait to see what he can become.

#11 Aleksander Abramov- Age 28
CLUB- Voroskaev Tygers
Abramov is a reliable, large albeit slow forward. He can hold the ball well, and will probably be used often as a late-game substitution when offense is needed. His experience will be important in aiding the young strikers to mature.

#12 Nikolai Karpolsky- Age 24
CLUB- Manju (Daehanjeiguk)
Recently transferred to the Great Han Empire's National Football League, Karpolsky is a great young prospect. A product of Myedvedeya's Moskva State Athlete's Academy, he will get some playing time at the Cup.

#14 Pavel Zolkin- Age 31
CLUB- Voroskaev Tygers
Far past his prime, Zolkin was once an electrifyingly fast, extremely tiny goal scoring machine. Now, look for him to come on occasionally in a supporting role, and be a mentor to younger players on the team.

MIDFIELD:
#8 Arman Barabanschikov- Age 28
CLUB- International of Moskva
An established player, Barabanschikov will be an interesting figure to watch on the left wing for Myedvedeya. His left foot is legendary, and one can look for him to take some of the set pieces that Vorotaev does not. Myedvedeyan media named him one of the three Players to make an Impact at this tournament.

#4 Alexander Markov- Age 22
CLUB- Daenam (Daehanjeiguk)
A gifted dribbler with clinical finishing skills, Markov will play as a left-central midfielder. He was recently transfered to the Great Han Empire's National Football League, and will be interesting to watch in that role as well as at this tournament.

#13 Nikolai Dolohov (Captain)- Age 28
CLUB- Tundra Falls (Newmanistan)
Dolohov is the star of the Myedvedeyan national team. Gifted in nearly every regard, look for the Captain to receive club offers from everywhere once he has the chance to make an impression. His skills are formidable, but what truly makes him exceptional are his abilities to lead the squad- both older and younger players respect him completely, and he is almost a second coach on the field. Has just signed with Tundra Falls of Newmanistan, who played their way to a upper-mid table finish.

#7 Grigor Ulyanov- Age 29
CLUB- Tsar's Guard
The right winger is the oldest of Myedvedeya's starting midfielders, but still has the skill to make a difference. Look for his beautiful crosses to fly onto the head of Rozhdestvensky multiple times in this tournament. He is famous for his incredible determination and ferocity, much like Gennaro Gattuso.

#16 Kostya Mazipov- Age 25
CLUB- Bagration FC
One of Myedvedeya's better players, he will essentially come on every game, and may start some for Markov in the midfield. Currently recovering from an ankle injury. Plays anywhere in the midfield, preferably in an attacking role.

#23 Yuri Morozov- Age 24
CLUB- Yaroslavl Axe Bears
Morozov is a complete unknown, a recruit from the Myedvedeyan territory of Yaroslavl who made it onto a professional side, and rose from there. His development should be intriguing to watch. Plays on the left side.

#2 Sasha Karbonenko- Age 20
CLUB- Voroskaev Tygers
A star on the Under-21 level, Karbonenko's speed and ball skills should allow him to have success at the senior level. Plays in the center, in a very attacking role.

#17 Jov Mikhaiylichenko- Age 29
CLUB- Dover City (Newmanistan)
Mikhaiylichenko is known throughout Myedvedeya for being the most obnoxious, short-tempered and aggressive player to come out of the country. If there is a fight, odds are he started it. If there is a red card, odds are its' awarded to him... Still, he has considerable skill, and should see some playing time. Plays in the center, in a neutral-to-defensive role. Is now playing for TQCC qualifiers Dover City.

#15 Igor Parshin- Age 23
CLUB- AC Jaril
A young prospect from the Moskva State Athlete's Academy, Parshin could develop into an excellent midfielder in the next few years. Do not look for him to get much playing time at this tournament, but look for him to make an impact in the future.

#19 Vassili Pencherjevsky- Age 17
CLUB- International of Moskva
Found by a professional scout playing soccer on the streets, Pencherjevsky is a young phenom. Pulled from the U-21 squad to play here due to an injury to 33-year-old Misha Kulyanov (will not participate in this tournament), Pencherjevsky will see some playing time, and can probably make an impact, even at his extremely young age.

DEFENSE:
#5 Ivan Romasko- Age 26
CLUB- Pyotroveskovlad Imperial
Romasko is a small, speedy left back, who will be on the attack nearly as much as a midfielder due to his fantastic acceleration and speed. His main flaw is his size, which prevents him from keeping up with the physicality of some forwards. Very much like Gael Clichy of Arsenal.

#3 Karolek Preminin- Age 31
CLUB- CSKA Moskva
The oldest starter on the team, Preminin will anchor the defense in the center, from both a physical and tactical point of view. A very skilled player, he was a candidate for the Captaincy when the team was called.

#27 Ivan Mizin- Age 24
CLUB- Bagration FC
Mizin is an extremely large, often very brutal and physical central back. Look for him to take control of anything played in the air. Consistently gets into trouble with referees, mainly due to his size.

#10 Maksim Korotkaiev- Age 26
CLUB- Cossack United
This introverted, strange looking right defender is one of Myedvedeya's most erratic players. He is sometimes the best player on the defense, and sometimes abjectly horrendous. Look for him to settle into one of these modes, and for his playing time to be adjusted as such. Many were surprised to see him gain a starting spot.

#20 Vas Pervoi- Age 23
CLUB- Svalvinya CF
Pervoi is another MSAA product, and was a star all through that program, and at the U-21 level. Look for him to take Preminin's spot in a tournament or two, once the older defender retires.

#18 Ivan Blevsky- Age 21
CLUB- Wunnam (Daehanjeiguk)
Recently Transferred to Daehanjeiguk's National Football League, Blevsky will be a frequent addition to the team, as he begins to accumulate senior-team experience. Look for his dribbling skill to feature prominently.

#22 Tasha Romanov- Age 24
CLUB- Yaroslavl Axe Bears
Romanov is a solid, but unspectacular defender. Look for him to get some playing time, especially when attempting to protect a lead.

#25 Konstantin Naesenko- Age 33
CLUB- Pyotroveskovlad Imperial
The oldest Player on the team, Naesenko used to be a starter, and will now mainly fulfill a mentoring role. Still, he may be used occasionally for his experience and cool head.

#26 Roman Izmailov- Age 22
CLUB- International of Moskva
Just off the U-21 Team, Izmailov is an interesting prospect. He has great speed, and great ball skills, but seems to be out of place on nearly every play. Given some tutoring, he could be a great player in a few years.

GOALKEEPERS:
#1 Boris Bykovsky- Age 23
CLUB- Pocono City (Newmanistan)
The Young Bykovsky shocked the nation when he out-preformed veteran Uri Saitov for the starting job, and is now a hero of the country. An extremely athletic goalkeeper, look for him to make highlight-reel saves all tournament long. Must improve Tactical skills to become truly world-class. Signed a high-paying contract with Newmanistan's Pocono City Capitals, where he had a strong first season as they qualified for the globe cup.

#21 Uri Saitov- Age 28
CLUB- CSKA Moskva
The Longtime starter for the team, Saitov is Tactically sound, and Technically skilled, but is not spectacular in any area. Look for him to play only if the young Bykovksy struggles.

#24 Pavel Ontonov- Age 22
CLUB- Cossack United
Ontonov is the youngest of the three keepers, and is probably destined to become Bykovsky's second string after Saitov is gone. Look for him to play only if something happens to Bykovsky and Saitov.

Player/Manager: Alfredo Valente

With all other coaches and sources of money being removed from the football program, and by the Ministry of Sport's decision to fire Ross Gaynor, there wasn't much of a desire to hire a new manager, or the money to do so. So looking inwards, the team will be managed by the team's former striker Alfredo Valente. It also helps that he was the only person to fill out an application that wasn't written in crayon.

Technical team:
Manager: Professor George Douglas
Trainers: a monk named brother Jeffrey, a zookeeper called Bob Harrington and a ninja who referred to himself as Kamutsa

Kit: Monkeys wearing football tenues? Nah, they'll play in the outfits they've been norn with. That's none.

Monkeys:
Starting XI:
Pauli – Goalkeeper, #25
A Bonobo, has long arms and jumps far. Is able to throw the ball over 70 meters.
Swerz – Left defender, #34
Bonobo, pacey. Likes to kick opponents when nobody’s whatching.
Johnny – Right defender, #45
Bonobo. Cheeky one, likes to pull faces to opponents. Good tackle.
George – Central defender, #98
Big Gorilla, goes well for the header. Diciplined.
Jack – Central defender, #57
Also a gorilla. Perfect tackler, although he has the nasty habit to bite tackled opponents. Captain of the team.
Darren – Defensive midfielder, #72
Darren is a baboon, and a bit hyperactive. Is able to make solos ever the whole of the field.
Sonny – Left midfielder, #2
Patas Monkey, a monkey who likes to cross the ball. The only monkey that wasn’t able to pass the money counting test.
Yigit – Right midfielder, #19
Patas Monkey, gives perfect passes and uses his pace and tricks to run by opponents.
Hank – Attacking midfielder, #23
Orangutan. He’s an intelligent player with all the abailities of a real number 10.

Joe – Right striker, #1
Chimpanzee, gets very high in the air with his jump. Likes to eat his shirt after scoring.

Benchwarmers:
Ruth – Goalkeeper, #28
Bonobo. He’s a great goalkeeper, but the reason he’s a reserve is becauce he mostly demolishes a ball when he catches it.
Carlos – Wing defender
Bonobo. Got into the training program halfway to replace another bonobo who was killed by an angry farmer. The farmer was ritually burned after a ‘fair’ process.
Wilkson – Central defender, #93
Gorilla. He’s less agressive than the two other gorillas, but is stronger.
Pete – Defensive midfielder, #48
Baboon, loves to moon to the crowd. Is good crosser.
Uli – Wing midfielder, #13
Patas Monkey, a real banana lover. Mostly stands on the field eating them.

Orangutan, specialized in taking penaties. Will get on the field every time the clock will pass the 10 minute limit in second half extra time.
Ishmaël – Striker, #66
Chimpanzee, notable for almost choking while trying to eat his own left foot. Kind of stupid, but knows how to score a goal from great distance.

THE ARCHREGIMANCY BRINGS YOU

THE MONASTIC WORLD CUP 43 SQUAD

First of all, everyone except newbies knows that the Archregimancy is a nation of Eastern Orthodox Christian monks, right? Newbies may also need to be reminded that the Archregimancy has only recently returned to the top 10 after falling as low as 35th since their previous stint near the top of the rankings; their roller-coaster ride through the rankings stands as definitive proof that our ranking system does allow for movement in both directions.

Following their best World Cup ever in World Cup 42 - which saw the Archregimancy reach the semi-finals and finish third - the Monastic Football Association has decided not to tamper with a winning formula. So in the the Archregimancy's 20th consecutive qualifying tournament we bring you an unchanged line-up for the third cup in a row....

THE DESERT FATHERS OF THE ARCHREGIMANCY

This is a team of otherworldly ascetics, honed by fasting, sure in spirit, and sworn to the rigours of the desert hermit life.

COACH -
Fr. Anthony the Great: This much-loved and imitated one hundred year old influential ascetic's life of solitude and discipline has attracted many disciples over the years, but has been temporarily set aside so that he may guide the Archregimancy as God (as revealed by the Monastic Football Association) has commanded. Fr. Anthony is now the most successful national coach in Monastic footballing history.

GOAL
Fr. Epiphanius of Cyfrus: Legendary for his denouncements of paganism and love of books and learning. Less known for being a goalkeeper, and possible the team's weak spot.

DEFENCE
Fr. Evagrius the Scholar: One of the most learned monks in the Archregimancy, Fr. Evagrius now tackles at left back instead of tackling the teachings of Origen.

Fr. Macarius the Egyptian: Renowned for his wisdom, gentleness and austerity, Fr. Macarius hopes to use his spiritual nature to humble opposing centre forwards.

Fr. Moses the Black: By Archregimancy standards, Fr. Moses is known as something of a comedian - why, you should hear the one about the two Catholics, the Freemason and Hellfire! His nickname is an unsubtle reference to his Nubian origins.

Fr. Postumianus the Biographer: Recently finished volume 26 of his definitive 'Life of St. Martin of Tours', and has started the introduction to volume 27, Fr Postumianus nonetheless still occasionally sets aside his quill to play at right back.

MIDFIELD
Fr. John Cassian: Influential compiler of Monastic wisdom who has a lethal left foot cross (not the True Cross, of course).

Fr. John the Dwarf: Short of stature, but big on spirituality, Fr. John has been forced to live in a cave underground in an effort to elude his many followers and admirers. His low centre of gravity and consequent dribbling skill has seen him nicknamed the 'Fr. Diego of the Archregimancy'.

Fr. Arsenius the Golden: Once from a noble family in the Holy Empire, Fr. Arsenius threw away the temporary wealth of this life for greater hope of salvation in the next. A close disciple of Fr. John the Dwarf (with whom he forms a solid central midfield pair), Fr. Arsenius' silence and austerity, combined with his learning and former magnificent lifestyle make him a source of wonder to simpler monks.

Fr. Ephraim the Syrian: Famous Archregimancy writer and poet who is swift to acknowledge the Lord's righteous judgement from the wing.

FORWARDS
Fr. Rufinius the New Ascetic: Fairly new to the life of the desert hermit compared to the rest of the team, and said to have been a top forward in the Imperial League of the Holy Empire prior to following the monastic life.

Poeman: Enigmatic centre forward said to be the youngest of seven brothers. Also called 'pastor' and 'shepherd' by his many followers, stories of his monastic prowess, humble ascetic life and skill with the direct free kick are legion.

Team Icon

The team is always accompanied to matches by the Holy Icon of the Mother of God, Bringer of Victory, which shall be paraded before the team before all home and away qualifiers. The Holy Icon looks like:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/vakraas/theotokos_of_nicopeia2.jpg

Tips for footballing visitors to the Archregimancy:

1) Each home match is preceded by the complete Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. Rest assured that this should only require visiting teams, fans, and officials to stand for a mere 2 hours before kickoff. Consider yourselves lucky we don't use the Liturgy of St. Basil.

2) We control the nature of reality in the Dreamed Realm. This isn't used to cheat - all normal rules of football are strenuously followed - but it does have two major side effects:
A) Any injuries to either team in Archregimancy home matches are immediately healed.
B) No violent or riotous behaviour by visiting fans will be tolerated. Any such behaviour will find those responsible immediately transported back to ordinary physical reality.

3) Direct travel from ordinary physical reality to the Dreamed Realm is impossible. Some 72 hours before your away qualifier in the Archregimancy, a team of monks shall arrive in your home stadium and construct a portal to the Dreamed Realm. You may then use this to travel to the Archregimancy at your leisure.

4) Visiting support is limited to a maximum of 1000 travellers. They are encouraged to bring their own water supplies.

5) Women are not usually permitted into the Archregimancy. Exceptions will be made for visiting players and properly accredited officials - largely because we have to - but not for visiting supporters (see information on visiting support permitted this cup under point 4).

6) Formerly, the Archregimancy made a point of being resentful of being forced to permit atheists, communists, freemasons, assorted heretics and foul excelites into the Archregimancy for home qualifiers. These days the Monastic Football Association tries a little harder to welcome all of the above – though largely in the hope that might just possibly be open to conversion through a slightly more conciliatory approach. The saint-stealing schismatics from Magna Sancta Sedes are an exception; they're extremely and specifically unwelcome. Even less welcome than those whores from Jeruselem.

HOME GROUND

In the hope that it will continue to provide the Desert Fathers with something of a home advantage, all home qualifiers are played in the middle of the desert:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/vakraas/P1050797.jpg
(groundsmen from the Holy Empire prepare the desert pitch)

Alright, so it's a bit dusty, but there's an oasis nearby, and all visiting teams and their officials will be supplied with international-class dressing rooms next to the pitch (which will be painted on to the ground prior to each match). Contrary to rumour, cassocks will not be used for goal posts. Proper goal posts and crossbars will be be erected prior to each match. Nets, however, might be trickier to arrange. Visiting fans will be asked to sit on the sand dunes.

OOC: I realise my team might present a role-playing challenge. Rest assured that once they start playing they'll play just like any other team (though they might be a bit more inclined to pray after scoring), so I have no problem with you treating the team like any other if you don't want to deal with the Orthodox Christian element.

THE HOLY EMPIRE WC 43 ROSTER:

[OOC - Note for newbies: the Holy Empire of Alasdair I Frosticus participated in the very first tournament, and is currently the last remaining active World Cup 1 participant (though the nation took a long break between WCs 7 and 25). For all that history, they've never once made it past the Quarterfinals - and even then only in the two tournaments they've co-hosted.]

For the second consecutive tournament, the Imperial squad will consist of eleven proper footballers drawn from the best club sides in the Imperial League. Except for brand new green-skinned forward Urko Urkes, who [as will be explained in AIF RPs] won a competition to train with the squad prior to qualification, and impressed the coaches so highly that they offered him a slot on the team on the spot. Otherwise, it's not quite an identical team to WC42, and there are a couple of other new faces in addition to Urkes.

OOC - IMPORTANT: All Holy Empire goals must be scored by Urko Urkes this World Cup.

For further information on the Holy Empire, the Dreamed Realm and other relevant background detail, please go to the now slightly out of date the Holy Empire NS WIKI page (http://www.nswiki.net/index.php?title=Alasdair_I_Frosticus) (that's a link, newbies). Assume all football matches will be taking place in the Imperial Hippodrome

Please remember that 'The Holy Empire' is the preferred name for this nation in IC media reports. 'Frostican' is an acceptable adjective. I'm perfectly happy for you to use 'Alasdair I Frosticus' and 'AIF' in OOC posts and threads.

And my RP preferences?

Feel free to do almost anything you want short of attacking, damaging, or in any other way harming the Holy Empire, the Dreamed Realm, the Archregimancy or their people. The big exception is that, as stated above, all Imperial goals are to be scored by Urko Urkes. I know this is unrealistic - bear with me, please. And remember that A) travel to the Dreamed Realm is only possible through specially-constructed portals, and B) violent behaviour by visitors to the Dreamed Realm results in immediate and instantaneous deportation.
Candelaria And Marquez
25-10-2008, 17:41
Candelaria And Marquez national football team squad for World Cup 43 Qualifying

Candelaria And Marquez (“Oh. Them. The ones with the… thing. Yeah.”) is a rather pointless, sort-of leftist, sort-of multicultural, sort-of democracy in a sort-of forgettable part of what can be termed, for the sake of argument, the Wurld.

Things not to know about Candelaria And Marquez include:

* It has a stupidly long name, though most natives and foreigners alike use C&M for sanity’s sake, or else “the Candelarias”, which is actually geographically more correct but pisses off Marquezians a bit.

* The national adjective is Candelariasian. Non-natives must feel free to use whatever they like, however. Really, gowon. We collect ‘em (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13326087&postcount=18).

* Candelarians speak English, except when they speak Italian, or Serbian, or Arabic, or Irish Gaelic, or Haneo, or whatever.

* Marquezians speak Spanish, except when they don’t.

* All Candelariasians, regardless of colour and creed and whatnot, are increasingly (and worryingly) proud of their increasingly (and unnervingly) useful national football team. One can argue that, if anything, the Big Blues have underachieved – making the World Cup finals only three times out of seven attempts and having never won their qualifying group.

* All Candelariasians are mildly indifferent to their success in other international sports, including rugby union and field hockey.

* The islands are home to the CMSC, which is inexplicably one of the top domestic leagues on the planet. Almost fifty nations have been represented in its ranks over the years, and many of the world’s top national teams regularly rely on C&M-based players.

* The country makes regular use of Time Dilation Devices; arcane and unknowable and mysterious techno-organic constructs used to push events, memories, people and Stuff back through Time, with a capital T, to allow the shortest time possible to pass in the Candelarias while the normal passage of global football continues on its merry way.

* None of that is actually important, per se.

* Most famously and monotonously of all; successive governments of C&M are known – at least beyond Candelariasian shores – to have made use of highly-developed propaganda, state misinformation, media censorship and manipulation and, when all else fails, stabbings; in order to keep from the bulk of the Candelariasian people the ‘weird’ realities of the universe – including, among their fellow sporting nations; gnomes, elves, dwarves, androids, robotic ducks, ninja-monkey-monks, practitioners of actual voodoo, monks from an alternate dimension, pre-pubescent children, sapient mice, sapient bears, sapient badgers, sapient cucumbers, sapient beans, zombies, vampires, Greek letters, aliens, and also did we mention the elves? Singing beans, giant toads and seemingly immortal football managers are more of a stretch As We Shall Probably See, I’m Afraid…

* There are goblins. But not actual goblins. Actual goblins wear little hats.

Squad:

Manager: Fifty-nine year-old Kris Healy has gone from a whoops-there-goes-another-one contender for the sack, to arguably the most celebrated man in the country. Having won a Cup of Harmony, Healy’s team only finished third in their subsequent qualifying group but still went on to emerge undefeated from their World Cup group, knock out the reigning champions from Starblaydia… shh… and make the quarter-finals for the first time ever.

Where they were promptly gubbed by Zwangzug, but the point still stands. Twenty-first in the world, they could really come of age this year… or Healy could succumb to the same fate as his predecessors and lead the nation to disappointment just when everything looked like picking up.

The 4-2-3-1 will likely consist of: Sbaïz – Dixon, Williams, Silva de Aviz, Adekunde – Mengucci, Corradini (c) – Cohen, Madeira Lobos, González – Smith, though Healy will certainly make changes against certain oppositions.

Healy’s assistants are Gianluca Pilleddu (who generally takes most of the coaching sessions while Healy watches from the sidelines), Mike Howell (fitness), Speed Wang (cheerleading), and Marshall’s full-time touchline assistant, Adam Taylor. Wang won thirty-seven caps as a C&M international, partly on the strength of his silly name.

Stats vaguely correct as of C&M versus Zwangzug at World Cup 42

Goalkeepers:

23. Joel Sbaïz, Aged 28, Chelmar FC [Yafor 2], STARTER, 21 caps
“One of the best goalkeepers in the world”? Um. Okay. Yes. Why not indeed? Though letting in five against Zwangzug may not have been his finest hour, and it’s hard to argue that he’s as technically accomplished as some of his rivals; Sbaïz has height and reach on his side and always appears willing to die for the cause if needs be. And he did replace the legendary Joshua Kanga on the LIDYT’s best side for a reason, after all.

1. Felix Currey, 30, Caires City, 1 cap
Destined, it would seem, to be one of those unfortunate nearly-men of international football. A key part of City’s success, Currey is a late bloomer and a dwarf compared to Sbaïz, but remains quick and athletic, and will be watching Sbaïz slip-ups keenly.

22. Seb Moon, 29, Albrecht Turkish
About a decade behind schedule, the Moon pops up over the horizon and a new day dawns for C&M goalkeeping. Kinda. Nothing if not solid between the sticks; Seb’s early career saw him stumble through injuries and sex tape scandals at MarquezOW, before a spell in Kura-Pelland revitalised the great white hope of Candelariasian ‘keeping. Having moved to Turkish at the start of this season, Moon hasn’t been unduly tested just yet, but for once the Big Blues do possess three genuinely useful ‘keepers.

Defenders:

12. Harris Dixon, 28, A.F.F. [Cafundéu], STARTING RIGHT-BACK, 32 caps (9 as sub)
Having finally made this position his own – rather later than had been scheduled, back in the day – this sturdy and technically accomplished full-back is unlikely to be challenged by potential usurpers for the next couple of cycles. A Healy protégé who’s won just about everything on offer despite still looking for Cafundelense domestic honours; Dixon will still have a hard time living up to the record of outgoing predecessor William Burgos.

15. Steven Williams, 30, Albrecht Turkish, STARTING CENTRAL DEFENDER, 54 caps (2 as sub), 2 goals
Perhaps an unlikely figure to be among C&M’s all-time stars, being somewhat on the podgy side and lacking particularly impressive feet; but Williams’ never-say-die enthusiasm and footballing brain – coupled with his long-time Healy connections – have made him an automatic pick for quite some time.

18. Enrique Silva de Aviz, 27, A.F.F. [Cafundéu], STARTING CENTRAL DEFENDER, 18 caps, 1 goal
Similarly retaining his place, based both on his club kinship with Dixon and WC42 partnership with Williams; Silva de Aviz is also large – albeit more of the beanpole variety – and creates an imposing sight alongside his international partner. It could be argued that there really aren’t too many other options available to Healy, but this duo will still do a fine job.

3. God’s Power Adekunde, 25, Port of Clotaire, STARTING LEFT-BACK, 6 caps (1 as sub)
Having emerged as the number one choice during the World Cup finals, the eldest of the vast Adekunde clan of Albrecht looks set to keep his place despite his club’s struggles so far this term. Pacey, powerful, comfortable on the ball though not in truth the world’s greatest defender, GPA is – perhaps inevitably – a cult figure who perhaps adds more to the entertainment value of the team on and off pitch, than the honour of C&M left-backs past. At a pinch, he can also fill in in the middle.

2. Andrés Quirot, 22, Arrigo Portuguese
This is a grim little happening; with Quirot considered the best of a seriously mediocre bunch of available right-backs. Youth and experience will hopefully come good by the next cycle, but for now the former El din Marbles ‘starlet’ now playing down the coast in Arrigo is really Dixon’s only challenger. Weak in the tackle, a nice passer but hardly quick, Quirot hopefully won’t be called upon when it really matters.

5. Caleb Christmas, 26, Cathedral City
There were options for the back-up centre-half, certainly. Last cycle’s Demario Ortiz; Wiacek, Johnson, O’Brien, Knight… But Healy opted to go with a Cathedral City product – and who can blame him, given their record in forging technical and composed defenders. Another veteran of the less salubrious portion of the Candelarias’ tabloid industries, Christmas also brings footballing experience, a couple of seasons as Silva de Aviz’s club partner, and familiarity with a back three. In truth though, besides the usefully daft surname, he’s just laying the way for yet more Cats defenders in the future.

13. Ciaran Kelly, 28, Albrecht Turkish, 22 caps
A Healy protégé ousted once more (this time by Adekunde), the solid defensive left-back will get his fair share of games. But Christ, he’s dull.

Midfielders:

8. Connor Mengucci, 29, Petardos S/A [Cafundéu], STARTING DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER (RIGHT), 54 caps (13 as sub), 1 goal
A hugely important part of the side, the defensive midfielders here bring bags of experience and are the bedrock of any dubious tilt for the ultimate reward. Slim but powerful, more of a stopper than his colleague but still possessing fine distribution; Mengucci has two TQCC titles to his name and is a mainstay now for club and country.

4. Matteo Corradini, 31, Albrecht FC, STARTING DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER (LEFT), Captain, 82 caps (7 as sub), 6 goals
Legend. Surely? Barring injury or a dramatic dip in form, he will become the Big Blues’ all-time cap winner this campaign. The man in the plastic mask surveys the midfield through a narrow slit but dominates his part of the park all the same, both in protecting the defence and distributing forwards and wide. The Rennidan games will be fun, mind you.

19. Niv Cohen, 24, Albrecht Turkish, STARTING ATTACKING MIDFIELDER (RIGHT), 17 caps (1 as sub), 3 goals
Probably just about secure in his place now, Cohen is considered an out-and-out winger for Turkish but has adapted to this role with aplomb. A footballer of immense personal confidence; his pace is nothing special but his crosses are sublime, and his mental partnership with the rest of the team has developed rapidly.

20. Dionísio Madeira Lobos, 29, Caires City, STARTING ATTACKING MIDFIELDER (CENTRAL), 23 (1 as sub), 8 goals
Dionísio may have missed out on the chance to return to Cafundéu in C&M colours last time around (curse them Frenchies!), but the Central City native still has plenty to offer to his adopted land. Goals for one thing, and the making thereof for another, but this most improbable of Candelariasians has also revelled in not being the sole fulcrum of the midfield attack. Oh, and look who we’ve drawn in the qualifying round…

16. Jamie González, 26, Arrigo Portuguese, STARTING ATTACKING MIDFIELDER (LEFT), 19 caps (10 as sub), 6 goals
N’night Merlin Siriwong – Arrigo’s where it’s at now, and Jamie Guh in particular. Equally comfortable just about anywhere in the opposition half, the two-footed goalscoring livewire made the left his own at the World Cup. Doubts remain over his relationship with the equally unpredictable Dionísio, but this threesome can and will put the willies up just about anyone.

6. Tom Ely, 25, Arrigo Portuguese
The replacement for Matt Reddington both for club and country, Lavange-born Ely has matured into a fine holding player. Quick over short distances and generally athletic, he’s unlikely to be the long-term answer to both Corradini and Mengucci’s age concerns, but he’ll be getting plenty of games while Healy seeks to limit the venerable Corradini’s excursions.

11. Aaron Kortsarian, 25, KT Hotspur
He cuts inside from the left, beats his opponent with a trick, shoots on goal, or delivers a pinpoint pass. Over and over again. When he’s not injured, of course, or suffering from a crisis of confidence. Had he established himself all together sooner than he ultimately did, the Big Blues first XI might look very different right about now. As it is, he’s merely considered a back-up – but the international stage could be the perfect opportunity for Aaron of the Nuts (on account of being the dog’s bollocks… Armenians, Syrians, it’s all basically the same, innit?) to make the number eleven his own.

17. Robin Jacobs, 21, Atlético Insular [Cafundéu]
The youngest Candelariasian ever to make it in Cafundéu (not that he can be said to have ‘made it’ just yet); the Bove native Jacobs brings vision, creativity, powerful runs, neat little passes and goals. He remains a little lightweight, and inevitably in-and-out, but this boy is never-the-less doubleplusgood, and could even provide Dionísio a test for his place. And, more, to the point – between him and Cohen, we’ll be challenging Jeruselem and Milchama at this rate. Whoever knew we had Jews, eh?

21. Jack Marshall, 28, El din Marbles
Not a surprise, per se, but still an eyebrow-raiser among those who question Healy and the CAMAFA’s conservatism when it comes to throwing in yoof at the first opportunity. Possessing a deft touch and a fine range of passing, Marshall was a stand-out player at the third Di Bradini Cup but since then faded away badly until suddenly storming into superhuman form for the Marbles. Severely deaf since birth, he uses earpieces to receive alerts regarding the referee’s whistle, shouted instructions from unsighted team-mates, and so forth.

Forwards:

10. Tom Smith, 24, Arrigo Portuguese, STARTING STRIKER, 17 caps, 9 goals
The jury remains out as to whether Smith can follow Fritz, Novo and Vélez as top-draw C&M strikers since, although his strike rate is pretty impressive, it would be hard for this natural finisher not to have scored by the plenty with the service right behind him. Still, he’s strong and possesses a powerful right foot, and appears to have done enough to keep a regular starting berth for now.

9. Joe Cunningham, 29, Clube Imperial [Cafundéu], 29 caps (23 as sub), 13 goals
A strange player really, Cunningham is up there with the top C&M scorers of all time but he appears destined to remain a supersub for his entire career. Small and still quick, he plays as the more withdrawn of a front three for his club and could still end up acting behind Smith rather than instead of him.

7. Abdul Ibadulla, 21, Juavi FC [Eesseff]
Having shone at the sixth DBC and the last Olympics, life at the Old Hartfast has been a tad more up and down for C&M’s third Muslim. Though Juavi had a dismal previous season, the first Candelariasian in Eesseffian football came through with goals in double figures and more than a handful of assists. Which is what this gangly young man is all about – tall and good in the air, his own shots seldom have much power but benefit from unerring accuracy and his fine positional sense.

14. Richard Johansson, 21, Arrigo Portuguese
C&M has good strikers. We do. Honest. But just not quite yet… Hence Johansson, who’s useful, adds height and pugnacity, and has dramatically improved his finishing over recent months, but who isn’t, for all that, entirely top draw. More importantly really, he’s Smith’s club partner, and that understanding alone sees him elevated to the squad with the occasional shift to a 4-4-2 still clearly in Healy’s mind.

Stadium well Pitch
Due to An Blascaod Mór's hilly terrain, there is no where flat for a football pitch so the team play their games on the neighbouring island of Beiginis. Getting across to Beiginis though requires a ferry first of all to An Blascaod Mor before getting a dingy across to Beiginis which means the trip cannot be done if the seas are very rough or their is a bad storm. In these circumstances the team play their games in the village of Dún Chaoin (English name: Dunquin), the nearest village in Sorthern Northland and the place from where the ferry to the island departs.

RPing notes.

An Blascaod Mór is a tiny nation which is proud just to represent itself on an international scale. Even a 7-0 thrashing will be deemed a success if someone who had never heard of the country before learns of it (and the local pub is good, even a clean sheet or a goal will merit a national holiday). All 143 citizens of the island will be at the tournament supporting the team and will be about as loud as 143 people (minus the 17 players) can be. Neutral fans are also welcomed with open arms by the ABM support. A large number (roughly 1,500) of Sorthern Northland will also be there to support their neighbours. The nation also leads a perhaps primitive lifestyle lacking things such as roads (and therefore all forms of transport except donkey and boats), TV's, computers and electricity and the like. This is not to say they are unaware of these things and find them foreign as they can be found easily should an Islanders visit the Sorthern Northland mainland. The players will though find big city's and playing in a ground that is more than just a patch of grass a new experience.

Following a decision by the College of Cardinals, MSS shall not send a "team" of "football players" to participate in the "World Cup Qualifiers", instead "relying" upon their "faith" to call upon "God" to guide them to "victory". Indeed, the Heavenly Host shall descend and play football for them - akin to "Angels in the Outfield" except without the weird kid who flaps his arms like a bird.

It's the End of the World as We Know It and I Feel Fine

While that title may look weird for a roster post it makes sense when one understands what the hell is going on. Since the MFA again has control about the selection process people expected a completely changed roster full of regular footballers, however due to what some call, "pure laziness" the MFA decided to have a conglomeration of every roster Milchama has ever produced in terms of style. Thus our World Cup 43 roster makes no sense even to us and everyone is scratching their heads looking for a way out. It may come soon, we have no idea, but whatever happens it won't be dull.

Actually there are two rosters, they will be switched randomly on a game by game basis.

Roster 1: +3 as well because even our crazy rosters still like goals.

MANAGER
Parker Law, former player on the Bedistan national team prior to the BFA's dissolution following World Cup 32. Bedistan itself no longer exists as a nation, with portions of it surviving today as Northern Bettia and part of the Unified Capitalizt States. Then-assistant manager Law replaced Umsaasad Pentove when he was sacked after opening World Cup 40 qualifying with four consecutive losses. Law went on to win all six remaining qualifying matches only for the team to sputter out and manage just one point in the group stage. He then became the first manager to pilot Vephrall into the knockout rounds, reaching the quarterfinals of World Cup 41.

His assistants are:
Assistant Manager - Netgorin Ocilla
Forward Coach - Menburid Umsaasad
Midfield Coach - Contrope Shrifflu
Defender Coach - Pasarap Cegeeng
Goalkeeping Coach - Sytrobes Smait

The White and Gold play in a 4-3-3 (+2) formation.
