No, no, no, no, no. This is not needed. The old one was not "getting hard to control". There is no active council. There is absolutely no need for this. The old thread was fine.

We appreciate your enthusiasm, BUT it was not necessary to re-create the thread.

There is no active Olympic Council. Nations can join Olympic Games straight without being part of this. Please stop legitimising this totally unnecessary thread.

Again, as Liventia / LE points out, this is a pointless thread. Taeshan's enthusiasm is commendable, but unnecessary.

There is no active Olympic Council.

The Council is effectively defunct.

Writing with whatever miniscule and ineffective authority that adheres to my being both a founder member of the putative Upper Olympic Council and the president-elect of the World Cup Committee.....

The original attempt to form a hierarchical Olympic Council along the lines of the World Cup Committee that administers the long-running NS World Cup was well-intentioned, but flawed from the beginning.

The Olympics are far too large and unwieldy to be administered under such a system, and the Olympics are now held whenever a nation (usually the nation previously known as Commerce Heights) feels that they have the time and inclination to put in the massive amount of work necessary to run the damn thing.

At that point, any nation that chooses to sign up to participate signs up to participate.

Membership of the 'Olympic Council' is not required for participation; membership of the 'Olympic Council' confers no voting rights when selecting a host; there is therefore no need for a new thread listing Olympic Council members because there is no need for an Olympic Council in the first place.

Taeshan's attempt here was - like the whole concept of the Olympic Council in the first place - well-intentioned but ill-conceived. It was also unilateral, and made without any consultation.

Please let this thread die.

If people continue to post here, I'll ask the mods for a thread lock.
