The national sport of Bostopia is going international! After playing against a Casaran team a long while ago, the Rugball Association of Bostopia (RAB) in association with the Confederation of Rugball Associations (CRA, the world governing body) is extending an invitation to national teams of the world to compete in Bostopia in the World Championship of Rugball!

Depending on the number of teams who sign up, it will either be a straight randomly drawn knockout cup, or league based progressing to knockout stage as with the World Cup of Football. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=565560)

If you wish to compete, please reply to this message. You may also indicate your intention to join the Confederation of Rugball Associations and to come under their jurisdiction in international competitions, and any issues between two members needing the overview of an international body, be it decision making or pure overseeing. (Please include the official name of your Rugball Association or equivalent in the sign-up)

OOC: Now the fun stuff..

Matches will be scorinated by myself (except the match Bostopia takes part in, obviously) using a scorinator developed by Casari that was used by ourselves to scorinate our matches. There will be a ranking system, thanks to Kura-Pelland (of KPB fame) who developed a "Rankinator" for me which works in exactly the same way as the KPB ranks. There will of course be an RP bonus. All matches will be played in Bostopia in stadia made up by me in a short while that for IC contexts have existed for decades if not best part of a century or more.

Quick update; When I get 3 more entries, I'll probably start the WC, as signups seem to be going slow. Format will either be a straight knockout, or two leagues of 5 with winners and second placed teams going through. That'll be decided at a later stage.

Well, the Shamoin Islands do see sports as a waste of money, but i suppose we can force-err I mean elect, a team. Please consider us officially sign up.

The Taeshani Team will enter the CRA under the name Taeshan Veireinigung von Rugball(Taeshan Federatio n of Rugball) Its German the second official language of Taeshan. Everything is writeen in both.

The Great Han Imperial Rugball Association (大韓帝國草球協會|대한제국초구협회) will send a team of martial arts experts to participate in this event, and looks for the sign-in desk to join the CRA.

Now I understand that this brings the total number of teams to 11, which wrecks everything.

However, should another nation signal its intention to sign up, then consider West Zirconia in. I'm sure you can do something with 12.

As for the West Zirconian Rugball Association, well, er, it hasn't been formed yet. However, I'm sure that something can be arranged before the start of the WCR, even if it means renting a room at the WZFA headquarters.

The Republic Of Australiah wishes to join sign up, as it sees this as a good oppurtunity for the people to get involved in a sport and represent their country.

great! 2 pools of six! when do we start?

I'm planning on cutting off signoffs at 23:59.59 (BST, 5 hours ahead of the East Coast of the USA) tonight, so that's 11 hours 25 mins away. At that point, I'll put up a Roster, RP and Scores thread, and then kick off the action on Tuesday.

Anyone who signs up after this point will be a provisional signup until we get another signup to make even numbers, and then anyone after them will be provisional until we get another signup to make even numbers and etc etc.

Two groups of six is indeed what I'm currently looking at using.

Unfortunately due to me being on the other side of Offa's Dyke (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offa%27s_Dyke) there will not be any scorination on Friday and Saturday. Scores will be scorinated on Sunday (I see scores coming at around 23:00BST/18:00EST) though.
