(Depression becoming a reality)

Since the death of Emperor Belcameron II the Empire has shown a decline in profit and finds itself crippled by Welfare and Defense needs.

Grand Senator John Krusi, has said this has little to do with the change of monarch but by the fact that Phenixica has always had a tight budget and this tip on the edge of the needle has seen Phenixica with 17% of it's citizens unemployed.

The new Imperial Commissioner Fredrick Lighter said that he will hold talks with the Imperial Senate to try and put together a new budget that will hopfully ease the tension on Inflation.

The IP (the national currency) is also making further loses today on the market as it loses about 12% of it's worth in a matter of 4 months, one thing this writer is sure of is that the Empire has been weakened severely in the Military with construction of some of the new Hercules Class battleships being stalled because they could not pay the workers.

People have been quick to point blame at the Empress, careful research shows that the great rise in population plus the lack of new raw resource deposits has left the Treasury without a boast to profit. The Empire is just as rich as it was during the late reign of Emperor Belcameron II but with a population getting even closer to 7 billion the money is being stretched thin.

The only good news is age old corporations like Monra Shipyards and the Phenixican Trading Company (the renamed Bis Trading Network) have made minor profits.

One thing is for sure that if the current economic crisis does not resolve the Empire can possibly face a state of Depression.

(Changes Sweeping the Empire)

The new budget has left the Military with less funding and it going towards Education and Welfare, The Imperial Court accepts the changes because if the economy suffers further they would not be able to afford the huge contruction costs for the upgraded fleet.

The Empire also celebrates the festival of fire, millions of Phenixicans make the distance to Devenis where they go to the Home continent to pay homage to the Phoenix who thosands of years ago died and gave us the Gift of magic.

In other news the Empress is holding talks with the Lord of Monra, believed to be about his outburst a week back saying she was unfit to rule. Empress Nadine said that his behavior was nothing short of a attempt to rally support againts her and The Lord has be pointed at by many authorities as a rouge element in the Empire and that something has to be done before his actions create a civil war.

Depression Avoided
The Empire recently passed over 40 new laws that would allow for Corporations to grow larger and more independent of Government, This has allowed for minor gains but at what cost?

The Ruidian based Peoples Assembly is shocked by the changes saying that Emperor Belcameron II would be turning in his grave if he saw what happened to the Empire.

Lighter news is construction of the 60 new warships and 150 Frigates has resumed today in light of this small economic recovery, employing over 10,000people to Monra Shipyards and 4000 in Bis Trader Shipyards.

Talks of Alliance Start
The Empress began talks with the Void Templar today to setup a embassy in there Capital and possibly get one from them.

The hope is that this will stimulate trade and further boast the Economy, The Imperial Senate did mention they were thinking of joining a larger Alliance but at the time they are waiting for a decent response from the nations involved.

Rally in Devenis
A rally today brokeout in Kitar by Pro-Imperialist organizations giving there support to the Empress, one of them states.

"Emperor Belcameron II was not popular during his Early rule and the fact is you cannot expect the Empress to live up to such high expectations so early in her reign. This is just typical Socialist Hypocracy"

The rally was to raise morale for all Empress supporters and maybe the Empress herself as she finds herself taking blame for scenario's she did not cause.

Economy back on track
After a year worrying is the economy would ever recover in the last month we have seen a huge boom as the government opens many new jobs to the public. The boost is because of recent increase in the size of mines and with contruction back on track.

Monra Shipyards back in action
All warships are to continue construction today as they get the largest profit increase for 600 years. All warships are due to be finished in another 2 years with the shipyards also planning to expand the ships to be able to construct another 65 ships at the same time.

The Empires plan after there completion is to get the Monran Shipyards working towards the Fortress World project, but a location for the project has no been found.

Phenixica joins Alliance
Today Phenixican delegate Fredrick Juro reported he arrived safely and is holding talks with other ISSA members about trade and defence. Phenixica has not been member of a Alliance since the LoWF which was destroyed by the infamous galactic power the Empire.

The Imperial Court has reported that if a similar threat came from the Empire again the fleet was now more then ready to meet any threat, unlike last time where the fleet was weak and small compared to other nations.

Race of Fire held
Today boats set sail from Kitar to Hirof on the Dragonese Island to celebrate the victory of Phenixican over the Dragonese over one-thousand-five-hundred years ago.

Not really a race but a trip for anybody who is willing the festival is mostly attended by Bis and Monran's due to the heavy sacrifices they made during the war.

But it is also a celebration to the war that brought the Kingdoms together.

Fleet Movements
Sighting today have confirmed the movement of several ships towards the Hureq Warpgate. Officials have claimed it nothing but a drill but the sending away of ex-Grand Senator John Krusi (famed for his diplomatic skills) have brought suspicion to the population.

The Empress has also been moving around the Empire allot in the last week mostly visiting border worlds and inspecting the local Garrisons and defenses.

Marble Statue on display at both Governments
The first statues erected of the Emperor since his death have been put in fount of both the Senate and the Court. People still mourn after the death of Emperor Belcameron II, some are starting to suspect foul play in the Emperor's death due to the recent link of no autopsy.

The real life sized statues stand outside the doors leading into the main government buildings. Underneath it reads.

'A Phenixican is born of the Phoenix, we do not die but simply sleep until our resurrection, thus the Empire will always exist as long as one of us remains'

Unification Week
This is the week of Unification time to exchange gifts and join your fellow Phenixicans in celebrating the week long talks that lead to the Unification's of the four Kingdoms into a single Phenixican Empire.

The Empress is expected to give a speech at the Imperial Palace same with her father, remember that the best military parades are in Phenixica, Rita and Monrak.

A fleet has been put together to do a mock battle using paint filled weapons to fire at each other. The Knights of the Burning Sky are going to show a display of their powers just outside the old Temple.

Future of the Temple in Phenixica
Ever since the Order left Phenixica for the world of Perius the Temple on Devenis is feeling empty. Information has been released that a large amount of Knights are demanding returning to the Capital.

They said they don't mind training on Perius but afterward they should be able to return to the Capital and work more closely with the monarchy. High Ranking Templar have had to give in and this week has seen 2000 Knights return to Devenis.

The Burning Sky
Scholars of the Arcane Academy have found out the sky above Phenixica actually fights the interference of technology. This is common knowledge but for some reason it's become so powerful that Technology no longer interferes with most magic in the center.

Also the Sky has expanded a further 20% of it's size from only 6 years ago, this has made many think the sky over time might actually come to cover the entire planet.

Expansion
45 new outpost have been colonized by the Empire today, this worlds have been handed over to the Imperial Terraform Commission to turn them into more habitable planets.

These new addictions have been founded in order to strengthen the Empires control over the Free Colonial Worlds which soon under a act of the Senate will become standard colonies where Imperial Law has more of a say. Governors will be replaced by Government appointed councils. This is to stop the colonies attempt to evade taxes and stop the crime organizations using the systems as safe havens by bribing corrupt governors.

In fact after the bill is passed, Imperial Security has been told to go into the region in all force and crush all crime. Imperial Security said it has the resources to destroy them in about 6 months. Judging by past record it's very possible.

Ex-Qwelva Space
The Region finally has a capital as a base and it's Mirius, the colony has a population of 2 million. They have brought the first decent equipment to their garrison by purchasing Blaze fights and a Revelation Cruiser.

Mirius success comes from the fact the Rebels have finally been dealt a serious blow when a fleet found a Qwelva shipyard the bandits were using as a base. After a attack by the local fleet it was destroyed.

Senate has deemed the region open to colonization, the Empire is back on tracked with the Economy at full strength and Security available to anybody making Phenixica a true Galactic sized Empire.

Destruction of Hursi
Today the rebellion of the Hursi against Imperial Authority has been put down by the new allies of the Empire the Eternal Swarm, little has been raised about the now homeless Hursi. There Matriarch is now dead and so is there very home world that has been given to the swarm so they can have a presence in the galaxy.

In truth yes the Hursi rebelled against Imperial Authority but is that a real reason for the complete destruction of a entire world just for the sake of Security? That is the question up for debate as alien groups are trying to gain more power in the Phenixican Empire.

They are demanding the formation of a Galactic Council where powers of the Citerian can join together and talk about varies issues, but with security and the plain fact Phenixica is the only dominant power in the galaxy is it worth giving power to a few small voices who know nothing about the threats posed to the Citerian by the barbarians of the Milky Way or the Tyrants of the Galaxy of force users?

Many questions have been raised on this issue, but the Empire lives on stronger then ever before.

Failed posterboy
Admiral Druk of the IPN has been denied a place in the Imperial Court due to his failure to handle the rebellion of the Hursi, this has been a setback for the entrance of the Druk Tribe into the political game of the Empire.

For those readers who dont know much about recent history the Druk ever since they were re-absorbed into the Empire after the Expansionist Wars have been demanding a place as equals with the other Phenixican Tribes. A few of these demands have been pleased with special laws allowing them to join the Imperial Legion and Navy.

Also there Auxil-Colony of Druk was recently given the status of Tribal Colony and thus was allowed it's own government and leader, Leonardo Jack was given the title 'Baron of Drukarus' and was able to setup his own council and Druk has become a rich planet in the Phenixican Empire and handles most trade in Mystic Space.

But they have yet to get a position in the Imperial Government, which is why the failure of the Admiral to secure a seat has pushed back the Druk efforts to be finally recognized as our Phenixican brothers.

Empress to be wed
The Empress today announced that in 6 months she will be married to Prince Almerius Monran of the Monra tribe. Some call this a political move but everyone knows they have been courting for the last year ever since they both met at the founding of the Mirius colony in Ex-Qwelva Space.

He will still hold the title of Prince and the Empress will still hold all her powers and lose none to her husband-to-be it is a ancient law which was created during the Unification era to assure no foreigner can influence Phenixican affairs the law does not mention what exactly makes a 'foreigner' so the Imperial Court has decided that it meant anybody outside the Imperial Family.

This way Empress Nadine keeps her place as Lord of the Citerian and the leader of the Phenixican Empire.
