WorldVision Song Contest 7 Signups (Open to all)

Yeah, there's going to be another WorldVision. Even though contest 6 sucked ass, maybe this one will be better, that there will be more than just 14 countries.

So, for those who have never participated before, here's the breakdown:

This is baisically an NS version of Eurovision (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurovision_Song_Contest), with the same basic structure of countries selecting, performing and voting on songs. Except this contest open to countries in any region. Countries paricipating in the contest are also allowed to enter a maximum of two puppet nations.

After the signups, the contest is done through two RP threads. The first is the national finals thread, in which all countries select their songs for the contest. The second thread is the actual contest, in which all the performances (with song lyrics), votings and other RP's are posted.

Oh, and one last thing, all songs in the contest must be original. No cover versions. Parodies are okay though.

Signups (26):

Zwangzug return.

...Honestly, though, it's like we live in the same time zone or something. Whatever.
Rejistania
14-09-2008, 14:18
Rejistania signing (singing? ;) ) up
Alexandrian Ptolemais
14-09-2008, 14:32
Well, after doing alright in World Vision One, and doing pathetically in World Vision Four, I suppose that the Empire of Alexandrian Ptolemais and its questionable "Head of the Alexandrian Ptolemais Music Board" will come back for some fun.

no.

Cachette de Lions will be signing up for the third time.
Wentland
14-09-2008, 20:03
Yo, Wentland is entering, innit.
Gruenberg
15-09-2008, 00:01
Gruenberg would like to enter with their most goat-enabled song.
Brutland and Norden
15-09-2008, 11:58
Brutland and Norden sings up.
Kura-Pelland
15-09-2008, 12:18
Kura-Pelland are back again.
Iglesian Archipelago
15-09-2008, 17:57
The Iglesian Archipelago wants to host the WorldVision 7 in its capital (Los Vientos), as the Iglesian Archipelago wants to be more and more cultured day by day. It would be very happy to vote Iglesian Archipelago, but I believe in freedoms of vote and speech, so if you don't want my capital city to host this song contest (which would be a honour, because the Iglesian Archipelago never participated on it), don't do it. At least, the Iglesian Archipelago will participate at the first time in a WorldVision Song Contest. If you're interested in a nation which is not very well-known yet, you can vote me (unless if you have a more interested country to host this true party).

The Iglesian Archipelago will sign up the host to the WorldVision Song Contest, as well the winner song in the IGTV Song Contest 2009(?) (What is the date? Is it going to be in 2009, or yet in 2008?)
Taeshan
15-09-2008, 20:12
The Taeshani Songwriters alliance is looking into entering, but this is tenative as i don't know if i can come up with something good.

It is going to be when the signups end. These things do not use RL time, and different countries use different IC calendars. So it could be 2009 to one nation, but 2008 to another, 2112 to another, 1939 to another, etc...

WorldVision songs don't really have to be "good". Many of them aren't but that's all part of what WorldVision is.
Ruccola
15-09-2008, 23:29
Ruccola will be returning for its long-awaited debut.
Valeneska
16-09-2008, 01:03
Valeneska sign up.
Scotchpinestan
16-09-2008, 02:56
Scotchpinestan will participate again. But someone else can host this time.

bump, still needing more countries...
Qazox
19-09-2008, 00:20
Due to losing a bet with the Jeruselem ammbassador, before she was asked politely to leave, Qazox is forced, somewhat to enter. (ooc: I really wasn't, but after reading 6 of these things from the sidelines, I think I can do one)
Wavispa

Alasdair I Frosticus

Terreiro de Ogum will enter, to sing for the Orixás!

(this is a puppet of Cafundéu, btw)

Room for a 26th?

We did enter WV6 after all...

If accepted, we'd like to host the event at the Southern Centre, Ousevale, Krytenia. The venue holds up to 18,600 when set out for concerts.

Nethertopia
12-10-2008, 22:49
Let's see... Shall we bid as well? We've got nothing else to do... Ok, here we go.

We might be a first timer, but Nethertopia has a compassion for music. So they will be very eager to get this contest to their country, to the beautiful second largest city of Nethertopia: Tenderville. We happen to have a stunning concert hall, called the OMEN stage (yes, it's a bit morbid, the name, we know), with a capacity of 15,000 people on the tribunes and another 6,000 field seating places. We've also got two hosts-in-spé at the ready, called Harm and Suzie. These entertaining couple will be 'entertaining' the audience with bad jokes and scripted, not funny moments, like the Eurovision has it's hosts.

(OOC: Yes, i'm European and know the contest. It's a real difficult guess where i'm from, isn't it?)

Sorthern Northland
13-10-2008, 03:46
Sorthern Northland shall also put forward a bid to host the event. The planned venue for the event is the Airéine an Dearg Réalta in the heart of Sorthern Northland's capital, Beningrad, on the banks of the River Oblast. The arena is served by a station on the Benningrad Airports Railway Connection, which connects both of Beningrad's airports to each other and to the city centre. The arena has a capacity of 19,840. There will also be various fanparks around the city showing the event on giant screen for those unable to get tickets for the event.

shiny building is shiny.
[arroza is drunk...yes, the entire nation]
Cafundeu
13-10-2008, 04:28
Well, so Cafundéu is interested in hosting the event too, and announces a bid. Sorthern Northland shall also put forward a bid to host the event. After participating in two editions of the contest, and finishing in 2nd in one of them, the ones responsible for the Cafundelense participation in the WorldVision think that the country is more than able to host this event.

If Cafundéu is chosen as host, the place of the event will be the "Editora 25 de Maio Opera Hall", nicknamed just "Opala Theatre" (it is located in the Opala neighbourhood) by the population. It is located in the capital of the country, Cafundó do Juta, and it is very close to the centre of the city, so it's easy to reach there by car of subway. The Opala Theatre is mostly used for operas, and usually has a limit of 15,800 people set, although it can hold up to approximately 20,000 people (in very uncomfortable positions, so it's recommended that a maximum limit of 16,000 be put). Cafundéu also expects, if chosen as host, to make a deal with the WorldVision participating countries to show the event on TV through the Globo Multimedia channel and to record a double CD with the songs.

The "Editora 25 de Maio Opera Hall", or just "Opala Theatre":

Wartom

The Corporate Monanarchy of Wartom refuses to participate. XDLOL!

Yours unruly,
King-CEO of the Corporation Raptor Books Inc., Tom Wartom.

PS: Royal Advisor-Secretary Jim Writtens apologizes for the kings random and uncalled for message, and would like to send the sum of 100 million dollars to the comitee working for this project.
Kura-Pelland
16-10-2008, 11:32
Kura-Pelland sign up again if there's room. Judging by the number of dropouts in the past, the more entries at this stage the better.
Iglesian Archipelago
16-10-2008, 18:06
As you know, the Iglesian Archipelago wants to host this WorldVision edition. This consists a great concert hall called "S. Martinho Cultural Centre", built in 1999 and it has 4 auditoriums, one with 4000 lots, another with 3000, another with 2000 and another with 1000.
