How does your team look like?

Is it composed by monks, gnomes, elves, a banana, doctors, a single prisoner, philosophy experts, army members, robots, common footballers?

Or nothing of those?

Let the world know your team,

reveal the identity of your players in the...

Rosters Thread

This is the place to put your roster (your team's squad, the list of players). Any information about your team is welcome here, from the names and positions of the players to the information about the coach, the stadium, the kits and things about the country. The information you post here can help a lot other participating countries to RP games against you (or other stories).

So, feel free to post here your squad list and other general information about your team.

Also, choose a style modifier from -3 (most defensive) to +3 (most offensive), which will determine the attitude of your country (defensive or offensive).

And, to finish, you can tell the other participants what they can or cannot do in their RPs involving your team, completing the RP permissions box:

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers Y/N
Godmod scoring events Y/N
RP injuries to my players Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players Y/N
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y/N
Hand out red cards to my players Y/N
Godmod other events Y/N

…the number one ranked team in the World?
Valanora (known prior to World Cup 37 as Elves Security Forces)

...the other nations involved in Valanora?
Vyinta

…the nation in which this Commonwealth play their home matches?
Elves Security Forces (sometimes ESF in shortphrase)

…people from the Commonwealth?
Vanorians or Vanors

…the person who created this mess?

The Marauders play a very clean, very direct style of game, which mirrors the majority of the domestic league. On average, the squads commits less than 10 fouls, and one booking per match. The Typical subs are a double at the hour mark (2 midfielders if winning, a striker and midfielder if tied or losing) and at the 80 minute mark (striker if losing, midfielder if tied, and defender if winning).

Home Away

Manager

Orophin Anárion
Age: 24,566
Anárion continues to be a beacon for those who believe that anything is possible. After succesfully guiding the under twenty-one side to a Di Bradini championship, along with Cal's refusal of the post, he takes over where Oronar left off. While Rúmil did excellent in his stint, he simply was a temporary fix, and a tad more offensive than the national team needs to be. Anárion looks to bring back defensive accountability as well as some fresh blood to keep the players on their feet.

Assistant Manager

Nienna Lossëhelin
Age - 12,385
Nienna is a fresh face to the national team program as the VSC has decided to take a more traditonal approach to the manager's of the national teams, leaving the club managers with thier clubs. She is a short little red-head who knows how to fire up the squad with little effort. She supports Orophin's desire to bring defensive responcibility back whilst not stealing anything from the attack.

Keeper

1 Amarian Tinehtelë, Quel'Thalas FC ~
Age - 804
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 171 lbs
Amarian comes from a long line of footballers. with the majority being keepers and backs, and he decided to follow family tradition. Qual'Thalas gave him his break when he moved to the ESF, and upon his ability they have risen to the Premiership. He has good rexflexes and a loud voice to better direct the defenders on dead ball situations, a vast upgrade to Rowell.

Defenders

5 Mathias Nickel, Cheonjin (Daehanjeiguk)
Age - 822
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 164 lbs
Perhaps age or the repetitiveness of the career are starting to wear on Nickel as he made a few errors last tournament. That resulted in his losing of the captaincy, but Nickel is still the heart of the defence. Perhaps acknowledging his growing inadequcies, he has taken a close interest in the refining of Titenburg, grooming the lad to perhaps take up the mantle when he departs.

12 Dwier Titenburg Jr, FC Capri
Age - 395
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 162 lbs
His lack of being a true world class defender was exploited last tournament, which likely has caused Nickel to be more active in his development. He still is a few years away from being such, but his likable attitude and devotion to become better is enough to keep him starting. Whether the country likes it or not, the future of the backline rests in his growth as a player.

37 Hizzen Hocn, Cafundó do Juta (Cafundeu)
Age - 631
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 165 lbs
Hocn is a near carbon copy of Nickel in his play, approach to the game, and attitude. He proved quite often last tournament that he can hold his own and was a vast improvement over Mias from World Cup 39. Still learning a few of the finer details of the game, there is room for improvement, yet he has solidified his spot on the roster for tournaments to come.

Midfield

24 Espy va Drake, Green Island (Candelaria and Marquez)
Age: 695
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 159 lbs
Despite his overwhelming success in his first tournament and at his club side, Espy's place is being threatened. He has spent time trying to become more profecient on both wings to solidify his standing in the squad, all while doing what he can to better his teammates.

16 Ali Alidare, Mar Sara FC
Age - 744
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 183 lbs
Word has it that this unbelievable midfielder is considering retirement, which would be a sad thought when you take a good luck at his talent and role in the success of Mar Sara and the national team. You would not blame the lad though, as he has suffered numerous personal tragedies, but it would be a sad loss if this was to be his last competitive competition before calling it quits;

14 Laborious Hawk, Petardos S/A (Cafundeu)
Age - 659
Sex -M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 213 lbs
Words do not even began to define his talent, his talent defines words. If he is not awarded one of the spots that the Vanorians have in the World Cup Hall of Fame, then there is no justice in the world, as he has and continues to earn it every single day. That dedication, talent, and leadership allows him to become this tournament's captain for the Marauders.

15 Cristi Kries, AC Valanari
Age - 779
Sex - F
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 132 lbs
She had a fairly solid tournament, but with young talented wingers like Ricardinho and Ories showing high promise, her spot is far from safe. It is doubly in jeporady as va Drake is learning how to play on both wings. Even her twin brother is showing that the Kries blood is strong, even if Criti's safety in the squad is not.

40 Scott Soldarian, Albrecht Turkish FC (Candelaria and Marquez)
Age - 573
Sex - M
Hieght: 6'1"
Weight: 163 lbs
A very solid force in the middle that is often the person overlooked. Despite his hieritage, and his obvious skills, the oppisition seem to be more keen on Hawk and Alidare, leaving Soldarian free to roam in the middle. This has translated into his club side as well, giving him the oppurtunity to show his superstar quality. This last two years have been a break through, which now has opposing managers now another force to have to plan for in the attack.

Strikers

4 Ikles Razov, Dunboor FC (Cafundeu)
Age - 836
Sex - M
Height: 5"9"
Weight: 148 lbs
His speed and finishing touch are too be admired, Razov is clearly one of the better forwards of our time. Yet Zadora, Fresco, and Soler all deserve their chance to be on the starting eleven, which means that either him or the fabolous Night will have to eventually go.

9 Kiso Night, Petardos S/A (Cafundeu)
Age 46
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 164 lbs
Even at soo young of an age, Kiso has accomplished more in his lifetime than most footballers ever will. Winning the World Cup, holding the record for most goals for the national team, and be one of the best players in the world. While there is seemingly nothing left for this remarkable elf to play for, he's still out there busting his tail to bring triumph to the squad.

Green wombat
09-08-2008, 05:18
With the majority of the teeam retiring after the last World Cup, and the reserves completely inneffective at the CoH, Green wombat has no choice but to once again rebuild from scratch its national team.

Lead by new head Coach, Robert Trask here is the new Wombat roster for the 42nd World Cup:

(3-4-3/3-2-2-3 formation, +1 modifer)

STARTERS:

GK: Leonard Dvorak (18 yrs old). Decent enough keeper, but has trouble with penalty kicks.

Left Defense: Steve Rector (19 yrs old). Best defender Green wombat has seen in years; won't be fooled by anyone, but the best.

Sweeper: Becky Fick (19 yrs old). Great defender, but has temper problems and is spotty at times.

Right Defense: Douglas Dubose (28 yrs old). The "Old Man" of the team, overall a good defender, but finds himself out of position a lot.

Left Defending Midfielder: Bobby Kennedy (22 yrs old). No relation to the RL political family, Bobby is a quick defender, and is usually spotted against the best attacker.

Right Defending Midfielder: Monica McGann (22 yrs old). She's a wild one. Great defender, poor temper, inaccurate as hell, but has a cannon for a leg. Takes Corners.

Left Attacking Midfielder: Stella Karp (20 yrs old). Niece of current GWFA President James Karp, but there is no nepotism here, as Stella is the best overall player on the team. She can do everything but penalty kicks well.

Right Attacking Midfielder: Ronald Wilcox (17 yrs old). The youngest starter on the team, and a bit scatter-brained at times, but can run up and down the pitch all day seemingly untiring.

Left Forward: Dale Henke (21 yrs old). Great speed and great ballhandling skills, but tends to play down to his oppositition, and not play-up to his potential.

Mid Forward: Wayne Blessing (22 yrs old). Just scores goals. Has a knack for being in the right place at just the right time, but compared to most other forwards, he is slow.

Right Forward: Pauline Utley (23 yrs old). Much like Henke, is very quick and has a cannon for a leg, but struggles with ball control.

RESERVES (age):
GK: Carolyn Mohammed (21)
DEF: Jonathan Kyle (20)
DEF: Hattie Medford (18)
SWEEP: Frank Dixon (20)
MID: Joy Lazarus (17)
MID: Sonya Lefountaine (20)
MID: Margaret Buchholz (17)
FOR: Chad Connors (20)
FOR: Edward Griffin (23)
FOR: Nicholas Huskey (26)

MANAGER
Parker Law, former player on the Bedistan national team prior to the BFA's dissolution following World Cup 32. Bedistan itself no longer exists as a nation, with portions of it surviving today as Northern Bettia and part of the Unified Capitalizt States. Then-assistant manager Law replaced Umsaasad Pentove when he was sacked after opening World Cup 40 qualifying with four consecutive losses. Law went on to win all six remaining qualifying matches only for the team to sputter out and manage just one point in the group stage. He then became the first manager to pilot Vephrall into the knockout rounds, reaching the quarterfinals of World Cup 41.

His assistants are:

Defender Coach - Pasarap Cegeeng
Goalkeeping Coach - Sytrobes Smait

My opponent, if they RP first, may do pretty much whatever he or she likes as long as it's all in the spirit of good fun. Just don't kill my players or coaching staff (and in case of a major injury, I recommend you check with me ahead of time).

Rennidan will play in 5-3-2

Uniform
http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk176/rennidan/12.png

Rennidan is proud to be one of the few nations to not use a mega-corporation to manufacture their team kit, but as such, they never got around to making an away kit.

NOTE

Since the crash of flight 109, Rennidan has had to bring up a new set of players. One of the few national teams to not have a set of reserves. This was obviously a hard experience on the team. The only players left from the original WC42 line up are: The manager, R. Malkoa and defenders: Samman, Fortal and Belon.

Manager

Ryan Malkoa
Age - 27

The life of a manager is never, ever easy, yet for Ryan Malkoa it has been, perhaps, one of the hardest. After facing the death of his brother, his girlfriend and his unborn child, along with all his friends on the team, Malkoa fought hard to keep his job over fears of his mental status. He reasons that a little bit of insanity is needed for brilliance.

Assistant Manager

Jerry Horts
Age - 46

Manager of the Southern Hawks, Jerry was close with Ryan and Jo Malkoa. He stepped up into the assistant manager role after Allison Debanon sadly passed away. He is a laid back, easy going spirit, reminiscent of the children of the sixties.

Goalkeepers

Diar Twils, No. 91, Yanton Golds
Age - 17
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 158 lbs
Twils had already been thought of as a national prospect, but his age and lack of experience meant that the general consensus was that he wasn't ready. Now though, in desperate times, they have brought Twils up to play for his nation. Fresh faced and full of enthusiasm, his joyfulness is relatively infectious.

SUB

Robrt Gomez, No. 01, Southern Hawks
Age - 18
Sex - M
Height: 6'7"
Weight: 156 lbs
Gomez is a newcomer to the football scene, yet a known face in the world of college basketball. Hopes are that his good hands will translate over into the world of soccer.

Defenders
STARTING LINE UP

Henry Iopi, No. 4, Southern Hawks
Age - 16
Sex - M
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 140 lbs
A steal from Rennidan's youth league, Iopi was a child prodigy at the game, especially his mastery of ball control and slide tackling. Now though, he's playing in the real world and, needless to say, his nerves can somewhat get the better of him.

Samual ‘The Wall’ Fortal, No. 5, KT Hotspur
Age - 25
Sex - M
Height: 6'9"
Weight: 204 lbs
Obviously at a loss since his teammate’s demise, Fortal has become more aggressive on the pitch. This is, oddly, a saving grace, as it both inspires his teammates whilst demoralizing his opponents.
Big. That’s one way of describing Samual. He’s tall, muscular and doesn’t take any crap from anyone. He is by far the cornerstone of Rennidan’s defence. Anyone taking a free kick should be careful to not let the ball go near him.

Daniel Samman, No. 24, Central United
Age - 27
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 166 lbs
Since the death of his teammates and, perhaps most importantly, his childhood friend, Daniel Malakolo, Samman's heart just hasn't been seen. He's still good, but he lacks the flair and showmanship he used to put into the game.

Nick Yetsom, No. 75, Wessex F.C
Age - 18
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 192 lbs
Yetsome is a general sports nut. Boxing, kayaking, surfing, rugby and, most importantly, football, all play a large role in his life. He's pretty good, but his mind isn't always set on the game.

Harri Belon, No. 44, Atlético Jutense
Age - 23
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 144 lbs
Harri is another strong player, and is probably the only member of the team to not show that he's been effected by the incident of flight 109. He’s known for being a bit too laid back, but his tackling prowess is outstanding. He could get a ball away from a hungry polar bear without it noticing. So they say.

SUBS

Feros Balos, No. 40, Firtos United
Age - 21
Sex - M
Height: 6’2"
Weight: 166 lbs
With little actual experience behind him, Balos simply sits upon the bench.

Henry Harolds, No. 41, Littletown F.C
Age - 22
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 122 lbs
Happy with just being on the team, Henry gets playtime in the last half hour of the match. His liveliness can be a killer when everyone else on the pitch is knackered.

Midfield
STARTING LINE UP

Josef Fersu, No. 68, Southern Hawks
Age - 16
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 135 lbs
The youngest player brought up to play, Fersu is an unexpected wonder child. He's good at setting up the plays, but dominates when he drops back to aid the defence.

Witern Wallase, No. 72, Hampton
Age - 18
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 173 lbs
Wallase is another midfielder that is incredibly capable but performs best when dropping back. He's a bit uptight, and plays with a cold, calculating manner.

Macki Selks, No. 61, Ulii
Age - 17
Sex -M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 215 lbs
Selks is perhaps the only member of the starting midfielders that plays his best when pushing forwards for the goal. Whilst it's stated that Rennidan are 5-3-2, Selks prefers to adapt a 5-2-1-2 attitude when playing.

SUBS

Micha Hasweh, No 66, Yanton Golds
Age – 17
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 175 lbs
Hasweh is a very, very angry young man. He likes tackling, kicking and playing hard. It gets results, but his unpredictability means he's likely to be sat on the bench, as Rennidan don't want to risk a repeat of the Golos situation.

Strikers

STARTING LINE UP

Drunn Deleks, No. 58, Ulii
Age - 17
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 141 lbs
Deleks has an awe inspiring amount of power and accuracy in his right foot, capable of producing shots which no other striker is likely to even contemplate. The top corners of the opposition's nets are likely to be reserved for this young star.

Selet Loek, No. 77, Yanton Golds
Age - 18
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 141 lbs
Agile and fast, Loek has a brilliant head on his shoulders. He can figure out an oppositions defence in a blink, and is also a number one choice when a head into the net seems like the only good chance.

SUB

Rettini Oplo, No. 99, Southern Hawks
Age - 35
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 201 lbs
There merely to fill out the numbers, Oplo is an average player, and doesn't mind being around to just sit on the bench and dispense words of wisdom to the youngsters.

Two small stadiums are used due to the (relatively) low popularity of football in Kelssek. As these smaller venues practically guarentee capacity or near-capacity crowds, the atmosphere is better than half-full 60,000 seaters as used in the past.

Domain Stadium, Neorvins. Capacity 31,000.

The Golden Wolves

Manager: Dave Hollow. The Ad'ihani manager seems to have found a home in the Grand Democratic Duchy. Beyond getting excellent medical care for his bodily ailments, Hollow has revolutionized the Yaforite game - keeping the overall defensive flavor, but adding a powerful attacking core and skilled finishers up front. His addition of David Insfield to the starting line-up has not only lead to the Golden Wolves scoring a lot more, but also lead to Insfield's recent massive signing with Ad'ihani champions CF Mont-Pluie. Hollow has already made history (the first Yaforite manager to lead the national team to the World Cup quarterfinals. The first Yaforite manager to win by a six goal margin [a 6-0 trashing of Arroza in last cup's qualification]). Now Hollow's mandate is to succeed on an international level and lead the Golden Wolves to either the semifinals or the World Cup final itself.

Stadium: The Zydrakos Dome, Ajer, Yafor 2. The stadium will typically be either very cold or very warm depending on the season - if winter, then the former, if summer, the latter. It's the largest stadium in the Grand Democratic Duchy, so there will be a large number of people - though, Yaforite fans aren't usually very rowdy. It has a fun atmosphere, though.
* - Starter

*1)Goalkeeper: Imon Juile. Club: Atletico Jutense [Cafundeu]. Juile has grown into probably the best every goalkeeper of a Yaforite side. He has far more caps than any other keeper in Yaforite history, including even the great Deron Smithes, and his ability to knock the ball out of the net is incredible. Juile is powerful and strong - moreover, he is a team player, who knows how to rally the defense in front of him. The reigning Cafundelense Goalkeeper of the Year is easily among the best in the world - but, at thirty-six, he's aging rapidly. It is only his recent high-level form that has earned him a starting spot on the national team - as well as a massive one-year contract at Atletico Jutense. His one problem remains penalty shootouts, but, at his age, his legend is so much so that opposing penalty-kick takers aren't the most pleased to be facing him.

2) Goalkeeper: Pahal Gafernad. Club: IYC Kaharan. The twenty-five year-old young star earned the spot on the National Team due to his extraordinary form in the LIDYT - Gafernad not only lead the Yaforite domestic league in clean sheets, but he also faced against some of the best strikers in the world in tough LIDYT and TQCC matches, and emerged wowing the scouts. At his age, Gafernad is considered by many scouts to be among the brightest young stars on a Yaforite team that ranks among the youngest in the world. Due to Juile's problems with penalties, it is likely that in a penalty shoot-out, if the Golden Wolves still have a substitution, that Gafernad will be brought on to defend the Yaforite net. Juile's recent form is the only real reason Gafernad is not starting.

*3) Left Defender: Damer Vidanel. Club: Chelmar FC. It's nice to have a very successful season the LIDYT-A "Andrei Arshavin Honorary Division", but when you have a season that sends scouts from all over the world to come and watch, it is an even better season. A massive deal moves him from his second-division club to Chelmar FC, and then he impresses there. Vidanel is powerful, strong, and dangerous, with a keen sense of where to pass and who is open. One thing to note is that, with the large Chelmar FC contingent in this team, it is very likely that Vidanel knows the passing routes of his teammates (as, indeed, they do for each other) and thus will have a good idea of who to pass to.

4) Left Defender: Vanis Kariid. Club: IYC Uharan. The large twenty-six year-old sees his first action on the national team in a starting position. The large left defender wowed new Yaforite manager Dave Hollow in training camp, impressing the Ad'ihani with his build, physique, and defensive ability. While always regarded as a potentially very talented player, Kariid had only recently shown that his potential had indeed manifested itself and that the fifty million mulcs that IYC Uharan spent in acquiring him from Vanan FC were not wasted. Kariid has performed well for the national team in the past (if making a few too many fouls) and he is looking to get back his starting position from Damer Vidanel.

*5)Left Center Defender: Lhatis Riegan (Vice-Captain). Club: Chelmar FC. Riegan has developed into the heart and soul of this defense. When Thia Boley still played, Riegan was the third of three center defenders - since the team has switched to having four center defenders, Riegan has become the man to control the center. He is thin, but powerful, solid, an excellent marker, very good at intervening when necessary, and a skilled center defender by any stretch of the imagination. What makes him even more attractive, and frightening, to foreign scouts is the fact that he is only twenty-six. Last World Cup and last LIDYT season, Riegan showed that he is becoming possibly one of the greatest defenders ever to play in a Yaforite uniform.

6)Left Center Defender: Iadoris Caliandris. Club: Parwood City [Kura-Pelland]. Caliandris is another long-time member of the national side. Earlier his selection was one that many call a "bad one". Caliandris had been accused of not having the mental strength necessary to be a member of the national squad and, as many feel is a result, he has not started any games for the national team. He is looking to make this World Cup one where he can finally earn a starting position on the team and show himself to actually be good enough to play at a level beyond that of clubs in the Grand Democratic Duchy. He moved to Kura-Pelland amid criticism and has, since then, shown his skill and the reason behind his selection to the national team.

*7) Right Center Defender: Herod Accursas. Club: Chelmar FC. The half-Jeruselemite center defender is only twenty-four, making him one of the other young starters on an increasingly young team. He is considered by many to have all it takes to be a center defender - aggressiveness, pride, and intelligence. Accursas is an attacking defender - he often plays up in a midfield-esque position, and, as a result, is one of the few defenders who is consistently on the scores sheets at major tournaments. His excellent performances in the last two World Cup consistently silenced his critics and, since then, he has essentially been handed his starting slot - a well-deserved starting slot at that. He, with Sebard now a back-up, will take the free-kicks for the team - he has thunderous power on his straight, piercing shots.

8) Right Center Defender: Garin Malan. Club: Parwood City (Kura-Pelland). The second of the Kura-Pellandi-based players returns to the national team. The twenty-eight year-old was once a youngster at Chelmar FC, with tremendous talent, but never fulfilling it. At Parwood City, Malan has finally reached the potential that so many had foretold for him. Playing both a right defender and a right center defender, Malan has turned his versatility to his advantage, ranging up and down the field for Parwood City, one of the titans of international football/soccer. He has become skilled and intelligent - but, with Parwood City's dominance on a Kura-Pellandi stage so totally evident, neither he, nor his Yaforite partner Iadoris Caliandris are starters on this Yaforite national team.

*9)Right Defender: Nilan Bahsir. Club: Cafundo de Juta [Cafundeu]. Having departed to Cafundeu, Bahsir, who has since succeeded in a country that is crazy about the sport, has shown amazing mental strength and physical improvement in raising his game to an entirely new level, while surprising many analysts who believed that he was not of an international level. Most have attributed his rise to his playing in Cafundeu, which seems rather intuitive to others. His incredible performances for top Cafundelense club Cafundo de Juta have earned him the title of one of the best defenders in a league that is regarded by many as the toughest league in the world. He is also a fan favorite in Yafor 2.

10) Right Defender: Turkarin Varanias. Club: IYC Kaharan. The twenty-three year-old Kaharan right back is considered the best right defender currently playing in the LIDYT, despite his young age. He garnered a great deal of attention in IYC Kaharan's majestic rise in the LIDYT standings, both as a tough defender, and as a player with a deadly free kick and long shot potential. Varanias has the ability to swing the ball over and around any wall of defenders, into the center of the area for almost anyone to score with and his tackling is regarded as flawless. While Bahsir's international-level season earned him the starting spot at this position, the younger Varanias is regarded as the heir to a title that many Yaforites are hungry for.

11)Right Center Defender: Venasir Nahorian. Club: IYC Uharan. Easily the best young defender in the Grand Democratic Duchy defender, Nahorian is regarded as the next great Yaforite defender. Dropped from the U21 captaincy due to his ongoing feud with Jamie Durand (which still continues, incidentally), Nahorian has proven just how good he really is in the last Di Bradini Cup and in the league. And, yes, hopefully, injure his hated teammate, Durand, along the way. Of course, he'll probably be suspended if he does so, but some rivalries transcend that, you know?

*12)Defensive Midfielder: Mosada Juhan. Club: IYC Ajer. Juhan has grown into one of the best players on the entire team. He is the quintessential defensive midfielder - a powerful passer, intelligent, tough, and an excellent jumper (as his numerous highlights involving headers can testify). Typically when the Golden Wolves find themselves facing an adversary who has an excellent attack midfielder or striker, Juhan is the man who is placed to guard this player at all times - and he is typically very successful at this. He was brought up to the starting lineup when an injury to Sebard many cups ago forced him to take the center midfielder role. Since then, Juhan has matured and settled into the defensive midfielder role where he is much more comfortable.

13) Defensive Midfielder/Center Midfielder: Klientar Loverado. Club: Ranca Toco [Cafundeu]. Loverado has consistently been a backup at this level, but it is role to which he is accustomed. The self-effacing defensive midfielder knows how to settle into a defensive midfielder role in the middle of a game, and is very skilled at doing so. He is a quiet man, not given to doing interviews or being in the spotlight, but his addition into the lineup is a common substitution that Gerod Flamer has made many times and Dave Hollow will most likely make in the future. Loverado is relatively quick (he can play in a center midfield position as well) and he has continued that legacy in one of the tougher international leagues in Cafundeu.

14) Defensive Midfielder: Maird Lavan. Club: Dunboor FC [Cafundeu]. This is the first time that Lavan has been selected for the national team in a long time - this is not due to a lack of ability, but more because Klientar Loverado has consistently been regarded as more in line with standard Yaforite strategy than him. However, due to the change in formation instituted by new manager Dave Hollow, Lavan has once again been called up to the National Team. Lavan is a large, tough defensive midfielder - much more in the mold of standard defensive midfielder - with powerful range and a strong base with which to pass or to head. He is less speedy than either Loverado or starter Mosada Juhan, but he is certainly stronger, and that will serve him well, as it has in Cafundeu.

*15) Left Midfielder: Amario Otavias. Club: Chelmar FC. The best young midfielder in the Grand Democratic Duchy and also one with considerable international experience, Otavias was a no-brain pick-up for the big-market club in Chelmar. His skill is, literally, unmatched. He's a brilliant dribbler, an excellent passer, a good taker of corner-kicks, a leader, a solid free-kick taker, and a brilliant penalty shooter. He's also a clubhouse leader, and one of the few players to be universally acknowledged as "just plain good", as one scout puts it. He is preparing for a long and fruitful career at Chelmar FC, hopefully with titles involved.

16) Right/Left Midfielder: Fahren Dashkir. Club: IYC Hadaris. Dashkir has received great acclaim for his performances with Hadaris - the little-known club have done very well in recent LIDYT seasons and this is due, in no small part, to the abilities of Fahren Dashkir. Dashkir is very much in the mold of Yaforite wingers of the past - he is a clever defender, a skilled marker, an average-level dribbler, and a wonderful crosser. However, the twenty-five year-old is on this World Cup team to learn, and perhaps get in a game or two, as it is almost universally regarded that he needs a bit of time before turning into a true international-level player.

*17)Center Midfielder: Maharta Kiranar. Club: IYC Uharan. The Phenomenon has finally arrived. Regarded for so long as the heir to Prince Sebard's throne, the young star has finally taken over the reigns at the center midfield position at the age of twenty-four. He is a force in the center of the field. Maharta Kiranar is a passing midfielder, a player with such excellent game vision that he can make a perfect pass to one corner of the field while facing the other. His dribbling and shooting abilities are on a similar stage. Kiranar's one problem is the fact that he has never started before for the national team and, thus, one can reasonably expect that there are several major chinks in his international game that need to be figured out before proceeding.

18)Center Midfielder: Prince Sebard (Captain). Club: IYC Toralen. The Prince, as he is known, is looking to finally carve his name among the greats. He is known as one of the greatest to ever play his position - certainly the greatest ever in a Yaforite uniform - and possibly one of best center midfielders currently playing in the world. He is incredible with the ball - his dribble ability has never been surpassed by a Yaforite, he has the vision to pick out the open man and pass to him, and his defense is another surprising virtue of his, all the more surprising considering many at his position are not known for their defense. Sebard is the heart and soul of this Yaforite team and this cup, as he steadily grows older every year, he is looking to display his abilities to the world (and maybe even to a certain "Audrey Deguela", perhaps?). As he ages, Sebard is, at last, looking for a title - the World Cup title. Currently recovering from a major back injury sustained during the LIDYT season. Will most likely not play through much of qualifying and (if Yafor 2 reaches it) the proper.

*18) Right Midfielder: Vashil Nahanor. Club: Chelmar FC. Nahanor is another one from the age that many of these Yaforite players are. The twenty-five year-old right midfielder is far more of a dribbler than a passer - he would much rather try to run by his opposing man than to pass around him. This has caused many breaks with the Yaforite coaching staff, many of whom see this kind of action as going against the basic ways to win at the sport. Nahanor, nonetheless, has garnered a certain following among Yaforite youngsters, especially among those from Chelmar.

19) Right Midfielder: Ahershk Valinial. Club: Caires Sports Club [Candelaria And Marquez]. The only player on the Under-21 side to be based abroad. Valinial has been an integral part of the Knights' success in this season in the CMSC. Yes, he has the potential to be very good. He had, prior to his inclusion in that side, been a back-up to Vashil Nahanor at Chelmar FC and he had wanted playing time. His recent vein of form has found the twenty year-old in a familiar position - backing up Vashil Nahanor (this time at a national level, however). And, yes, the reason he's good is that he was found by some perceptive scouts from Caires Sports Club. Yes, let's heap praise on Sampson, shall we?

*20) Striker: Zyante Meleherat. Club: IYC Kaharan. Meleherat is no longer the rude and uppity striker of the past - the twenty-eight year-old has matured to the point where he understands that his job is to place the ball into the net, and he does that. He has become a real threat to opposing defenses - he still has the speed that he did when he was an upstart youngster, but now he has the experience and ability to send his shots where he wants, to know when to pass, instead of shoot, and he still sends crowds into raptures with his hair-tossing headers. He has recently bounced from team to team, but his latest deal, a preseason deal, find himself in Kaharan and, hopefully for him, a long-term home.

*21) Striker: David Insfield. Club: CF Mont-Pluie [Ad'ihan]. The twenty-nine year-old striker is of Bazalonian descent, but he has been living and playing in the LIDYT for a such a time that he has become a naturalized Yaforite citizen. Many Bazalonians, it is rumored, are angry with his choice of nation - Insfield is a striker entirely in the mold of a non-Yaforite. He has a big body, is aggressive and tough, and the physical strength to bury the ball into the back of the net. His excellent season in tandem with Meleherat, as well as the fact that his scoring ability, were much more in the mold of what new Yaforite manager Dave Hollow wanted with his strikers - hence the addition of Insfield to the starting line-up of this national team. He scores a lot. That's how he got his new contract with the Ad'ihani champions. Yeah.

22) Striker: Vakros Kaliokis. Club: IYC Hadaris. The twenty-four year-old was not expected to be the striker who Dave Hollow called up to improve depth at the striker position last World Cup, but he did. Kaliokis is a short striker, with a vast amount of speed, and above average-game vision and shot - if anything, he's mostly potential at this point. The poster child of Hadaris' youth program allows Hollow to bring an energetic striker off the bench who can score on the break, if necessary, come on with the Golden Wolves ahead and get around the more-tired defense. As Vorin Dariegan now languishes on the bench at Chelmar, Kaliokis is the new back-up and, in that role, his speed should come in handy.

23) Striker: Jamie Durand. Club: IYC Toralen. Half-Zwangzugian, half-Starblaydian, born in Yafor 2, has Yaforite citizenship. Don't ask about his parentage. He has a bit of a feud going on with Venasir Nahorian, which is often fueled by Durand's intense dislike of racial insults (such as "'grammer"). One thing the twenty-one year-old does have a lot of skill at, however, is scoring goals, and, in that regard, there is no Yaforite (apart from maybe David Insfield), who can match him. He uses his Starblaydian finishing ability, his Yaforite game vision and his Zwangzugian, um, math skills to score a lot of goals. Yeah. That made sense.

Bazalonian Bazalopes

Coach: James Gaines

Kit:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c58/Krytenia/BAZ42.png

Style: 2 (4-4-2)

Stadiums: TeleBaz Arena, SeaBazalope Arena, CBBC Dome, Drago Soccer Field

With the Bazalopes now firmly in the top 10, numerous injuries have spoiled the old team. Doctors have said that the teams just too old and it's time to inject some wholesale new blood into the team. BFSA President Andrew Coulter agrees, despite some disagreements with his mother. The new Team is as follows:

Strikers -

Hector Ainsley* - Hector has been a strong performer recently in the Bazalonian A League for Fauxhan Utd, he's quite tall and has quite a powerful kick, however the question is, can he lead the team to even greater heights?

David Jones - At one point was a Male Model before his fooballing career, is a bit of an exhibitionist but is quite a tactical strike with numerous set-ups in that brain of his, though he likes to present a bit of a dutz facade.

Midfielders:

Louise Van Houten -Another strong performer in A League Louse, is so far the best female midfielder in the nation but she is a bit weird and can be a bit erratic (Which can cause problems for Both Bazalonia and their opponents). However she is very fast and can control the ball.

Kennard (Kennie) Howard - Kennie is infact Louise's husband the two of them play for the same team and compliment each other, if anyone can read what Louise can do it's Kennie

Justin Cole - Justin, What can be said about Justin can be summed up in one word. Short. He is however very nimble for a man of his size and the size difference usually allows for some very creative play from this individual

Gregory Jones - A strong midfielder Gregory is the consistant rock that keeps the team together, he acts like a sort of vice-captain. Seeing the lead from Hector Ainsley and supporting anyone that he needs to. Gregory doesn't have much stats but he's almost the foundation for the entire team.

Ian Keighnan - Not much especially can be said about Ian except that he's very good at what he does

Defenders:

Zhan Xiu - Another Bazalonian Defender of Oriental descent Zhan perhaps may look like the odd one out but he is a very strong team player.

Trent Gould - Nephew of Nev Gould a famous retired Bazalonian Sports Journalist Trent has taken up where his Aunt couldn't actually playing in the Bazalopes, indeed a great honor.

Lleyton McEvoy - A strong and large man that can move quickly and precision if necessary, Lleyton is the hammer that that pounds their opponents strikers and makes life as miserable as possible

Robert Goodrem - Another strong and large man Robert and Lleyton worktogether so that the ball does not get past them let alone opposing players

Goalkeeper:

Leisel MacDonald - The second and last female in the team Leisel almost has a 6th sense about the ball, what is going to happen to it and where it's going to be.

3-4-4 Formation

Strikers (starters in bold)
Ian Lawrence: 33. One of the "old guard", the mentor for the next generation of Kenavtan strikers.
Connor da Vincho: 19. Brother of the Premier, he has been raved as "the next great one". A humble guy who hasn't decided on a major at Kenavt State.
Bartholomew Crist 25. In the prime of his career, yet he barely managed to beat out Prince for the starting role.
Tayshaun Billups: 31. Only made the team due to his friendliness with the younger players. Another great mentor-and one of the leaders on the team.
Chauncey Prince: 23. A hothead, he has also had problems in Kenavt Football Premier Division-leading the league with 15 yellow cards and 7 reds.
Midfielders
Aaron Zackrison 22. An up-and-coming playmaker. Great on offense, but weak on D. If he could improve that, he could be consistently an MVP in the Premier Division.
Sean Christenson 27. The main defender of the midfield.
Justin Taranto 36. His last World Cup, Taranto is a game-changer. Look for him to excel no matter what happens.
Vance Carter 24. The worst of the starters, yet not to be taken for granted.
Nemo Satgher 27. A great midfielder in the Premier Division, but just not good enough to start.
Xavier Karl 21. After doing tobacco early in his life and quitting in time for the World Cup, Wetygrew brought him to learn. Enormous potential, but his history might hold him back.
Fullbacks
Fredrick Bersad
Jacque Cartier
Niklas Backmon
Thomas Vartiuo
Lewis Sullivan
Rotor Gillis
Robert Kidder
Goalies
Roy Ike 23. A great stud in goal. Looks to have many great years to come.

OFFICIAL WORLD CUP 42 ROSTER
– There is a real optimism surrounding the team this year. It is the third time, and the hope that it is finally our time. But with several players on our roster playing for club teams in Cafundeu, and with Cafundeu being a host nation, well, there’s that added motivation to be one of the teams that go there as the individual players that play there want to show what their home country is capable of.

Kits: Home/Away/Alternate (and Goalkeeper)
http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj156/newmanistan/NEW40.png

Team Nickname: The Rockets
Style Modifier: +1
Formation: Generally, Newmanistan plays a 4-3-3.

If you RP first, you may.......
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: Yes (but only say they are hurt. I’ll determine the severity)
Godmod injuries to my players: NO
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes, but no more then one per game.
Godmod other events: TG your idea for approval first. I’m open to doing some things, though do not wish to do death/stadium damage/or sci-fi type stuff.

(I’ll try at one point to figure out caps and goals but make no promises).

**** COACHING STAFF ****

Manager: Brian Carson
Age: 51
Club Team: Pocono City Capitals
Background: Carson has been the manager of the Rockets ever since we made the splash onto the interregional scene. He’s had several successes, including a Baptism of Fire win (27th), and an outstanding Di Bradini Cup record. However, after many felt that the team greatly underachieved in World Cup 41 qualifying, Carson’s job was in jeopardy and he was given an ultimatum that the team had to make the knockouts in Cup of Harmony 33 to be back with the senior club for World Cup 42. Well, he did that. Now, with new life, he yearns to make the next step.

Assistant: Eric Andrews
Age: 51
Club Team: Loudon Leopards
Background: Now this, was a shocking announcement. Moreso, that Carson did it on his own. Andrews was the head coach of the Rockets in Oxen Cup 6 and 7, leading the team to final in #6, and the quarterfinals in #7, and was tabbed as being Carson’s replacement if he didn’t reach the ultimatum. They have been rival NPL coaches for almost two decades.

Assistant: Chris Merrill
Age: 44
Club Team: Dover City Mountaineers
Background: Merrill has been an assistant of Carson’s since World Cup 40. They have a pretty good rapport with one another, and Merrill is retained due to his experience, though no one knows how he’ll take to be the #2 assistant now.

And Now, the starting eleven...........

**** GOALKEEPER ****
Name: Corey Hennis
Position: GK
Age: 26
Number: 81
Club Team: Springfield Thoroughbreds
Background: Hennis has continued to evolve as the top goalkeeper in the Empire, and he has been especially good lately as he is entering what should be the prime of his career. Hennis was the starting keeper in World Cup 41, as well as on the Di Bradini Cup 4 & 5 teams, so he has plenty of experience. He’s the type of player that you would think would be poised to take the next step towards superstardom in his career, and a strong showing here could do a long way in doing that.

**** DEFENDERS ****
Name: Jeremy Brooker (Assistant Captain)
Position: LB
Age: 27
Number: 5
Club Team: Dunboor FC (Cafundeu)
Background: Brooker has developed into one of the top defenders in the world, and plays exceptionally well for Dunboor FC, one of the top teams in Cafundeu. His defensive awareness makes him one of the best ever, and he is not afraid of physical contact. He has great leadership abilities, and was named the assistant captain this year. Brooker is additionally motivated to help the Rockets qualify since Cafundeu is a host nation. Brooker has been a starter since World Cup 40.

Name: Michael Harrison
Position: LCB
Age: 25
Number: 8
Club Team: Pocono City Capitals
Background: Harrison is really developing into quite a player. It doesn’t hurt that he plays for one of the NPL’s most dominant teams. He was Carson’s first-choice defensive substitute in World Cup 41, and now gets his first opportunity to start, though no one is really concerned about his ability to handle that. He’s bulked up too in recent years, making him a greater physical presence.

Name: Brent Treichler
Position: RCB
Age: 27
Number: 3
Club Team: Southport Tigers
Background: Treichler has interregional experience, though none as recently as the others. He was a sub in the Baptism of Fire, then on the World Cup 40 team, but did not make the World Cup 41 team. Brent used that as inspiration, and since then, he has been a dominating force. He is the tallest defender of the starting four, and always has himself in a good position on set plays.

Name: Sheldon Talcott
Position: RB
Age: 22
Number: 2
Club Team: Loudon Leopards
Background: Talcott is making is first appearance on the senior team. He was the captain of the Di Bradini 6 team. He’s a lot like Jeremy Brooker in that he generally can outsmart opposing forwards, and anticipate what they are going to do before they do it. Sheldon is normally a left-back, but Eric Andrews assured Carson that he can play on the other side of the pitch just as well.

**** MIDFIELDERS ****
Name: Chris Peterson
Position: LM
Age: 32
Number: 13
Club Team: Clube Imperial (Cafundeu)
Background: Peterson is a two-way midfielder due to his great speed. There isn’t one thing that immediately stands out about him, because he’s strong in every aspect. Chris will not score many goals, but this is because he is more of a set up man. He was a starter in World Cup 40, then became a substitute in World Cup 41. With Kevin Carrigan no longer on the senior team, as he has lost a step, there was a spot for Peterson again. Chris will be the man delivering corner kicks.

Name: Alex Parnett
Position: CM
Age: 24
Number: 10
Club Team: Olympia Gladiators
Background: Parnett has everything you want in a center midfielder. His ball control skills are outstanding, and when coupled with his speed, he is a true offensive force. But at the same time, he is responsible defensively. After a stint in Nethertopia, Alex now plays at home, signing a contract recently with Olympia, a team that’s been starving for an offensive threat like this for years.

Name: Brett Prescott
Position: RM
Age: 33
Number: 17
Club Team: A.F.F. (Cafundeu)
Background: Prescott is a fantastic finisher, so good in fact, that he could probably play up front. But his ability to control the midfield makes this the ideal sport for him. Brett is extremely physical with a mean streak. He is often assigned to the opponent’s top goal scorer to “rough him up” and throw him off his game, and he has succeeded against some great players in the world so far. He doesn’t get carded as much as you’d think because he tries to push the limit of the rulebook, though not always be dirty, and when he is dirty, it’s usually when the ref isn’t looking. In fact, Prescott draws more “retaliation” cards against opponents then he gets himself.

**** STRIKERS ****
Name: Jeremy McAllister (“J-Mac”) *** TEAM CAPTAIN ***
Position: LS
Age: 27
Number: 20
Club Team: Putnam lake Eagles
Background: What more can be said about Jeremy McAllister. He is the all time leading scorer in Newmanistan interregional play, and is consistently a threat to score in every game. He has everything you want, speed, agility, height, great ball control, and he’s not afraid to be physical with opposing defenders. He is the man that opposing coaches will certainly be most concerned with stopping. He is also a terrific leader, and is now the captain, and is just now entering what should be the prime of his career. Former captain Kevin Lewis has slowed down a little and is now a reserve.

Name: Shawn Drummond
Position: ST
Age: 27
Number: 11
Club Team: Atletico Jutense (Cafundeu)
Background: Likely to be second on the team in goals scored. Drummond and McAllister have been working together since the 4th Di Bradini Cup, and since their rise to prominence has happened at the same time, the two have established an outstanding chemistry with one another. He is a speed burner, clocked as the fastest man on the team, just a bit quicker then J-Mac. He has recently transferred to Cafundeu himself and is one of the leaders on the team.

Name: Julie McElroy
Position: RS
Age: 31
Number: 12
Club Team: Southport Tigers
Background: Julie has had a varied amount of experience on the senior teams so far, but ever since Oxen Cup 6, she has been either a starter of a reserve on all senior team entries. This is her first World Cup starting assignment, and the striker has earned it, as she is coming off one of her finest domestic seasons. She is fearless, and just because she is female, don’t think that she’s afraid of physical contact. Quite the contrary, really, as she tends to initiate a lot of it.

**** SUBSTITUTES ****
Name: Chris Kusler
Position: GK
Age: 26
Number: 1
Club Team: Putnam Lake Eagles
Background: Kusler has really come into his own lately, developing into a fine keeper. He is being honored, now, with his first ever World Cup roster spot. He has some experience interregionally, as he backed up Hennis in the 4th Di Bradini Cup, and then again in Oxen Cup 7.

Name: Mark McCafferty
Position: CB
Age: 37
Number: 4
Club Team: Centralia Cougars
Background: This is it for Mark. After this tournament, he has announced that he will retire and go into coaching, and it’s rumored that teams are lining up wanting to get him as a coach. He is a very knowledgeable player and a consistent starter, and with exception of a short stint of missed time during World Cup 41 qualifying due to injury, he has been a starter since the Baptism of Fire. Unfortunately, age has caught up to him, stamina wise. But for 15-20 minutes as a sub? He’s as good as anyone.

Name: Shawn Morton
Position: CB
Age: 27
Number: 26
Club Team: Tundra Falls Mariners
Background: Morton had a stint in playing in Nethertopia, but is now back playing in the Empire for Tundra Falls. He is tall and aggressive, and is a very intelligent defender. What keeps him from starting is a touch of inconsistency, but that shouldn’t be overstated, it’s just the others are better in that area.

Name: Steve Boland
Position: MID
Age: 32
Number: 16
Club Team: Springfield Thoroughbreds
Background: Boland is no stranger to the World Cup. He’s been on the roster since World Cup 40, but has not seen a ton of playing time. He got some as a sub in WC40, but then as a reserve, did not see much time in WC41. He’s back in as a sub here. Boland doesn’t mind this as he has a tremendous work ethic.

Name: Brett Carlson
Position: ST
Age: 18
Number: 9
Club Team: Pocono City Capitals
Background: The young phenom who made quite an impact at the 6th Di Bradini Cup is ready to be part of the senior team despite just barely being old enough to drink. He made an immediate impact playing for Carson and the Capitals, and Brian is obviously very confident in him. This is to give him a taste of World Cup action, and it is believed that he will be a starter in four years for World Cup 43. Widely seen as our next “J-Mac.”

**** RESERVES ****

Name: Eddie Chapman
Position: CB
Age: 37
Number: 7
Club Team: Loudon Leopards
Background: Eddie is going to be used more as a player/coach during this competition. Like Mark McCafferty, he has been a starter ever since World Cup 40, and is a fine defender. If his name gets called out of necessity, he’ll still be able to do the job. Unfortunately, as is the case with Mark, he is having a hard time with more agile young strikers these days as he gets older, so he will no longer start.

Name: Tony Borsinger
Position: CB
Age: 26
Number: 6
Club Team: Tundra Falls Mariners
Background: Last season, Tony sustained a nasty ACL tear, and is still not 100%. Therefore, the starter in World Cup 41 is not going to see much action this time around. He has healed enough to where he could be effective a little while, but this tournament will be a lost cause for him. Look for him to have a greater role in World Cup 43, like we are accustomed too.

Name: Tom Cuyler
Position: MID
Age: 21
Number: 14
Club Team: South Tier Seagulls
Background: An up and coming player, Cuyler will be making his first appearance on the senior team, after being a reserve in the 6th Di Bradini Cup. He is continuing to show progress, especially in his finishing ability, and he is someone who may just be a late bloomer compared to others. He’s definitely someone worth watching.

Name: Kevin Lewis
Position: ST
Age: 36
Number: 43
Club Team: Tundra Falls Mariners
Background: The former captain of the World Cup 40 and 41 teams, Kevin has shown signs of aging, and quite simply, is not as good anymore. He is still capable, and still will be used with confidence. This past off-season, he signed with Tundra Falls after 17 years of playing with Carson in Pocono City. This was mainly a money issue. Kudos to Carson for not holding a grudge and bringing Lewis back.

– Stadium Info will be released (and included on this post) after the group draw, as we play each home game in a different stadium, and I base it on opponent.
Arroza
17-08-2008, 13:38
Team: Arrozan Tar-Hornets
Other Nicknames: Privateers, Black & Whites
Style: As attacking as possible. +3 (4-1-2-1-2)
Coach: Ross Gaynor a.k.a. Ross Arroza
After finishing his sentence for fraud, the old coach brings his questionable training methods, and 4-4-2 diamond style back to the national team. Soccer is still definitely the fourth or fifth most popular sport in Arroza, so there’s a lot of desire in him to get paroled quickly and to get the hell out of the country. The quickest way to do that’s to qualify, and to make enough noise in doing so to get a international job.

Roster:
GK: Felipe Quintero – 28, M / 12 Caps (W. Penthoria Rivermen / Newmanistan)
Quintero made quite the good impression nationally and internationally in the last year and a half, not only leading the Hornets to a Baptism of Fire championship, but helping to keep undermanned club side W. Penthoria from getting relegated.

GK: Justin Moore – 21, M / 4 Caps (Khalmar-Tijhus / Cafundeu)

D/L: Nathan Knox – 25, M / 20 Caps (Candelaria – Allemari / Candelaria)
Knox and Rios were the only 2 members from the Arrozan defense to get paroled in time for CoH33. With that said, they’re going to have to shape up, as the defense was the Hornets’ weak spot through qualifying, letting in several giant defeats.

D/C: Rodrigo Rios – 23, M / 20 Caps (Fremen F.C.)

D/C: Alexis Ivo – 25, F / 0 Caps (Feminis Dominus)

D/R: Tadeu Terra – 21, M / 0 Caps (Porto La Cruz / Cafundeu)
An immigrant from Cafundeu, Terra has been in Arroza since he was 5 years old. So naturally when it came time to pick a international side, he decided to jump right into the fire in Arroza instead of getting in line to try to get on in his old home country.

D/C: Seamus Donnelly – 30, M / 0 Caps (Evangeline Celtic)

D/L-R: Lazo Alavanha – 18, M / 0 Caps (Federal J/V)

DM/C: Ryan McIntosh – 20, M / 1 Cap (Clube Comercial / Cafundeu)
McIntosh’s got promise, but he never got to show it playing behind Parrish and Mahaffey on the National team. With a new squad, he’s been retrained to play center midfield, which would give the team a solid midfield, if he can get used to playing the position and not depend so much on his right foot.

M/R: Chris Mahaffey – 21, M / 7 Caps (Pocono City / Newmanistan)
Chris Mahaffey returns to the Arrozan right flank, after a year of learning from a great team in Pocono City. He also returns as the first Arrozan to be part of an international team that won a championship. He hopes to aviod embarrasment in this World Cup cycle.

M/L: Tate Parrish – 27, M / 17 Caps (Candelaria – Allemari / Candelaria)
The team’s all-purpose winger, Parrish can play either side of the field, a versatility that may be the reason why he was the only man from the Arrozan squad to be picked up by a team from the soccer powerhouse nation of Candelaria and Marquez. Parrish has proved his worth, helping C-A stay above the relegation line in his first season.

A/MC: Blake Camp – 27, M / 20 Caps (Fremen F.C.)

DM: David Kenga – 29, M / 0 Caps (Gigantes)

M/(Utility): Lorelei Jefferson – 19, F / 0 Caps (Western Express)

AM/C: Samuel Smythe, M – 24 / 0 Caps (Western Express)

F: Macoumba Kandji, M – 22 / 20 Caps (Fremen F.C.)
Mac Kandji Arroza's international assist leader comes off another worthless domestic season at Fremem F.C. with the single-minded goal of impressing enough people to get off the islands.

S: Martin Lancaster, M – 20 /18 Caps (Loudon Leopards / Newmanistan)
The Capstone Cannon returns for another shot of international glory, after the depressing events of WC 41. He’s hoping that an impressive run here in Newmanistan will both allow more Newmanistani teams to recruit Arrozan players, and will get him off the bench at Loudon.

S: Alfredo Valente, M – 26 / 2 Caps (Fremen F.C.)
Long the backup to Lancaster, “Big Gay” Al Valente is definitely a striker with flair, and pace. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been the most…physical of strikers, and that combined with the old long ball and run style kept him on the bench. Now that the team’s using a more attacking, continental style, it remains to see if Valente can turn his style into goals.

F: Kiri Bozeman, F – 18 / 0 Caps (Federal Sport)

S: Riley van Proovinjan, M – 21 / 0 Caps (Federal Sport)

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm1/Starblayde/ediraf/WZrcHome4.jpg

West Zirconian coach Roy Hazell has retained most of the squad that surprised the footballing world by winning the recent Baptism of Fire.

The first eleven will be as follows:

GK Steve Gray (Banks)
DL Ben Phillips (c) (Moorcroft City)
DC Lewis Fox (St. Andrew's)
DC Mike Faulkner (Markham)
DR Paul Paterson (Green Island Zapata)
ML Ian Hawthorne (Civil Service)
MC Patrick Williams (St. Martin University)
MC Ed French (Banks)
MR Anthony McGowan (Markham)
FW Martin Forster (Moorcroft City)
FW Steve Griffiths (Banks)

The remainder of the squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: John Hopkins (St. Andrew's), Tom Lyons (Civil Service)

Defenders: Matt Evans (Markham), Ryan Gregory (Bradley Hornets), Mark Dolman (Houghton Kestrels).

Midfielders: Ceri Hall (Redwood Forest), Lee Pritchard (Banks), Damion Hyde (New Toronto).

Forwards: Jerome Bennett (Taylor's Cross), Mark Young (St. Andrew's), Matthew Love (Banks).

West Zirconia has no national stadium - not surprising given its status as footballing newcomers. Its games are played at the following five club stadia:

Manchester Street, Moorcroft
Home Club: Moorcroft City
Capacity: 65,000

KPM Stadium, Snaith
Home Club: West Coast Angels
Capacity: 48,250

Williamson Park, Banks
Home Club: Banks
Capacity: 46,700

City of Houghton Stadium, Houghton
Home Club: Houghton Kestrels
Capacity: 35,000

STORMGroup Stadium, Mort Park
Home Club: Mort Park
Capacity: 28,500

The team's style is +1 (which I take to be counter-attacking)

And now for the OOC bit:

Bios:
Coach Estevez is a World Cup veteran who is a former forward for the team from World Cups 30 to 36. He scored almost half of the goals for the team and was its captain. Estevez replaces Ten-Cup coach Charles DuPont, who resigned amid Sel Appa's failure to qualify for the 39th World Cup. Estevez brings on-pitch experience and credibility to the team, as well as new ideas.

GK Mongke Bokegalbaatar is one of the new recruits for Sel Appa's national team. He is a huge 155kg behemoth that can easily stop a ball dead in its tracks with his large, meaty hands. He does not wear gloves, finding them uncomfortable. Despite being so large, he is quite nimble and can easily get from one goalpost to the other.

GK Anastasia Vadov is a well-known female goalkeeper. She claims to have the longest armspan in the nation, which will make her an excellent substitute.

DF Angus KAHN is a strong and able defender cut from the same cloth as Mongke Bokegalbaatar. Although, not quite as large, Kahn still has the mass and strength to make a capable defenseman.

DF Ashley SEAL is a little-known defender, but quick on her feet. She knows where to be and what to do all the time and never lets her team down.

DF Nara BURTON

DF ELMO is a well-renowned defender known for his quick reactions. He can easily evaluate changing situations and accommodate the team accordingly. He works with Simba to provide a strong defense.

DF SIMBA is an excellent defender who is notorious for playing a heavy defense. He has earned quite a few cards and sometimes plays too hard in the box. Nevertheless, he is able to prevent many a goal from finding its mark. He teams up with Elmo to make an almost impenetrable force.

MF Natalie Dubrov is the daughter of former striker Alan Dubrov. She takes much after her father, especially her love of football. She works hard to ensure swift connections from the defense to the offense.

MF Dzheighcymn Ghotiolo is Sel Appa's attacking midfielder, who often acts like a forward. He scores a lot more often than the average midfielder and should probably be positioned among the forwards.

MF Mish Vasou is the son of former defender Kash Vasou. Like his father, he was born and raised in the Natives Province and brings Native talent to the national team. He has quick, strong legs that do him well.

MF Nathan KOLTS is a strong midfielder known for his surprise runs to the goal. He always seizes an opportunity to catch the opponent off guard.

MF Hannah BARI

MF Bill Schmidt was born and raised in East Filotelvea. He spent most of his days on a playground--chilling out, maxing, and relaxing all cool and playing some footy outside of the school. One day, a couple of guys, who were up to no good, started making trouble in his neighborhood. He got in one little fight and the ref got scared. He said "You're going with your auntie and uncle to the National Team." He is a stable midfielder who provides good connections when needed and is known to score every now and then.

FW Karl GEPARDO is probably the fiercest attacker in the nation. He has been known to knock down defenders just to get a shot in. He has a large deck of yellow and red cards that he admits he'll probably add to.

FW Lenny NKUMA is a quick and agile striker with a large record of goals. He is known to score many, often equalizers and winning goals. He plays well and can tag-team with almost anyone--one of his best skills. His abilities to break through the defense are renowned across the nation and it is not a surprise that he made the team.

FW Flavio TARTARUGA is the son of Cafundean immigrants and a remarkable striker who brings the great football blood from Cafundeu to Sel Appa. He is expected to be a key part of the Turtles' attack plan, being well-known for surprise goals.

Candelaria And Marquez
18-08-2008, 22:08
Candelaria And Marquez national football team squad for World Cup 42 Qualifying

Candelaria And Marquez is a forgettable, left-leaning multicultural democracy in an utterly obscure part of the world, remarkable internationally for the nine following reasons (and no others);

1. Its stupid long name, which is accurate neither grammatically nor factually – the two largest islands are, strictly speaking, called Gran Candelaria and Marquez, ‘And’ should not be capitalised, but is, for perverse reasons not worth repeating here, and the country in all practical terms consists of the entirety of the Candelarias island group, not merely Candelaria and Marquez.

2. Its inanely unwieldy national adjective, Candelariasian. Candelarian and Marquezian (or Marqués, or occasionally Marquezo) can be used if the user is sure that the being or artefact being referred to heralds from either island. The divide is nowhere near as great as it once was however, and even a native Candelariasian would struggle to tell the difference between the modern urban accents. Of course, various foreign peoples use all manner of terms (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13326087&postcount=18).

3. The curious take on the Spanish language as used by a little over half the population of Marquez.

4. The near-universal characteristic of C&M citizens (and, in particular, media types), regardless of ethno-socio-economic background, to use ten words where one would do.

5. Its sporting prowess, after a fashion, since entering the international arena some twelve years ago (or twenty-four years, or one year, depending on which calendar you employ [see 8]). The national rugby union and field hockey teams are the reigning world champions, which isn’t anywhere near as impressive as it sounds, but still. The islands somehow possess a moderately competitive ice hockey side too, as well as the football team – the Big Blues. Now into their seventh World Cup campaign; the team have qualified for the finals just twice, but are reigning Cup of Harmony champions, if that counts for anything. They really should qualify this time around. Someone’s going to throw a paddy in the middle of Tesco otherwise, which won’t be pretty.

6. They’re also quite good at under-21 soccer, but that’s ‘cos only half a dozen countries actually bother with it.

7. Being the home of the CMSC, a football league that plays host to players from some thirty countries. And we’re not talking piddly little countries either. Hopeless SC? Scotchpinestan? Zarbli? Mm-mm, we’ve got ‘em!

8. The country’s shameless and possibly highly dangerous fiddling about with Time Dilation Devices; arcane and unknowable and mysterious techno-organic constructs used to push events, memories, people and Stuff back through Time, with a capital T, to allow the shortest time possible to pass in the Candelarias while the normal passage of global football continues on its merry way. Nope, no idea either.

9. And most famously and repetitively; the use by successive governments of highly-developed propaganda, state misinformation, media censorship and manipulation and, when all else fails, stabbings; in order to keep from the bulk of the Candelariasian people the ‘weird’ realities of the universe – including, among their fellow sporting nations; gnomes, elves, dwarves, androids, robotic ducks, ninja-monkey-monks, practitioners of actual voodoo, monks from an alternate dimension, pre-pubescent children, sapient mice, sapient bears, sapient badgers, sapient cucumbers, sapient beans, zombies, vampires, Greek letters, aliens, and also did we mention the elves?

There is a reason for all this, generally involving goblins, but it really doesn’t matter.

Squad:

Manager: Fifty-seven year-old Kris Healy really was on the ropes after the Big Blues’ failure to qualify, but winning the CoH has put to bed any and all talk of his sacking. He will likely as not continue with the formation, and much of the team, that won the CoH (which C&M won), though the retirement of striker Ignacio Vélez is a huge and possibly terminal blow.

The 4-2-3-1 will likely consist of Sbaïz – Burgos, Williams, Silva de Aviz, Kelly – Corradini (c), Mengucci – Edwards, Madeira Lobos, Siriwong – Smith, though in all honesty anyone might end up getting involved and Healy may well make major changes against certain opposition.

Healy’s assistants are Gianluca Pilleddu (who generally takes most of the coaching sessions while Healy watches from the sidelines), Mike Howell (fitness) and Speed Wang (cheerleading). Wang won thirty-seven caps as a C&M international, partly on the strength of his silly name.

Stats rather correctish as of the An Blascaod Mór versus C&M qualifier

Goalkeepers:

23. Joel Sbaïz, Aged 27, KT Hotspur, STARTER, 16 caps
A lanky streak of wotzit, C&M’s new number one isn’t fit to lace Oberon Martinez’s boots, frankly. There were few outstanding options, and Sbaïz’s awkward surname may well have helped him over the edge, but you can’t argue with his record at the Spur and his ProZone stats have him as the CMSC’s best, so there we go.

1. Felix Currey, 29, Caires City
Back in the squad after a watching brief in Newmanistan, Currey was goalkeeper of the year in the CMSC last term and was most people’s choice to replace Martinez. He’s got the number one shirt, which may be a deliberate signal by Healy that the fight with Sbaïz is still on, and this slight but springy figure will be up for the challenge.

22. Ethan Schepinov, 29, Delta Force Cardim [Kura-Pelland]
His one previous appearance in C&M colours involved conceding a penalty and getting sent off against St Samuel in the under-21 Justantina Cup. Now he’s back. I don’t know why. Nobody knows why. But here he is. Hello, Ethan.

Defenders:

2. William Burgos, 30, América [Cafundéu], STARTING RIGHT-BACK, 50 caps (4 as sub), 1 goal
Back in the first team once more, Burgos will never be able to iron-out his defensive frailties that make him a frustrating player, but there remains no Candelariasian answer to his power and vision going forward.

15. Steven Williams, 29, Albrecht Turkish, STARTING CENTRE-HALF, 48 caps (2 as sub), 1 goal
A large, technically poor but enthusiastic player and another one of those who continue to keep their place despite plenty of calls for the elevation of various rivals. Being from Healy’s former club probably helps.

18. Enrique Silva de Aviz, 26, Cathedral City, STARTING CENTRE-HALF, 12 caps, 1 goal
The beanpole defender is the centrepiece of Catedral’s back three, and a consistent factor in their recent success. He may not be around for a long time, with pressure on from various youngsters, but he’s kept out Olympic captain Shane Avdeev and will create an imposing sight alongside Williams.

13. Ciaran Kelly, 27, Albrecht Turkish, STARTING LEFT-BACK, 20 caps
Solid but nothing exciting, but Healy knows what he’s dealing with after their time together at Turkish.

12. Harris Dixon, 27, A.F.F. [Cafundéu], 29 caps (7 as sub)
Another protégé of Healy’s, Dixon is a sturdy right-back with an impressive medal collection including CoH, CMSC, CMS Cup, TQCC and DBC titles. Extremely competent, he lacks Burgos’ forward motion but continues to fight for his place after his move to Cafundéu.

5. Demario Ortiz, 28, United Trilan [Kura-Pelland], 21 caps (2 as sub), 1 goal
Silva de Aviz’s predecessor at Catedral, Ortiz is a more robust player but less of a commanding presence, and lacks Enrique’s calmness on the ball. A series of mistakes may have ousted him from the starting XI, but the fact he’s still in the squad bodes well for his immediate future.

3. God’s Power Adekunde, 24, Port of Clotaire, 2 caps (1 as sub)
Another new man in the squad, the competition at left-back was fairly tough but the eldest of the Adekunde clan had the edge on age, power and comfortableness on the ball. And a silly name, which, as we’ve discussed, is always a massive bonus.

Midfielders:

8. Connor Mengucci, 28, Petardos S/A [Cafundéu], STARTING DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER (RIGHT), 49 caps (13 as sub), 1 goal
The midfield sweeper, Mengucci is deceptively powerful for a slim figure and guaranteed a hugely important place in Healy’s new formation. His distribution is as vital as his stopping, but he may also be pressed into service in the centre of defence in an emergency.

4. Matteo Corradini, 30, Albrecht FC, STARTING DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER (LEFT), Captain, 76 caps (7 as sub), 6 goals
Physically powerful and technically accomplished going forwards as well as holding, Corradini is an easily recognisable figure for the excessively large face mask he now wears following a violent incident with the Rennidanian defender Robert Golos. If anything, it serves to make the captain an even more iconic figure.

19. Niv Cohen, 23, Albrecht Turkish, STARTING ATTACKING MIDFIELDER (RIGHT), 11 caps, 2 goals
The only true out-and-out winger in the squad, newcomer Cohen has blossomed into a top performer for Turkish, scoring at the fourth Champions’ Cup final and impressing throughout with his supreme confidence and unerringly accurate crosses. The first Jewish player in the senior squad, if anyone’s keeping notes, he’d like to stress that he’s never been a talented pianist and would like people to stop shouting that at him during matches, thanks.

20. Dionísio Madeira Lobos, 28, Caires City, STARTING ATTACKING MIDFIELDER (CENTRE), 18 caps (1 as sub), 8 goals
Now a fully-fledged C&M citizen, Dionísio’s dream will be to return to Cafundéu for the World Cup finals. Unless the Big Blues end up in Septentrionia, of course. That’d be a bugger. A consistent goalscorer and goal-maker, the Cafundelense-born player may bring a very different accent to the squad but he’ll be central to Healy’s plans.

21. Merlin Siriwong, 28, Marquez-Onwere, STARTING ATTACKING MIDFIELDER (LEFT), 29 caps (2 as sub), 11 goals
The last of the triad, Siriwong is the more versatile player who can play wide on the left or just off a front man, but has great experience in a club side oozing with selfish attacking talent.

6. Matt Reddington, 32, Arrigo Portuguese, 10 caps (3 as sub), 1 goal
With Corradini’s injury at the CoH, Reddington played rather more than he had no doubt expected, and excelled. The eldest player in the squad, he serves as a symbol of the lack of Candelariasian talent overall in the holding midfield position, but he’s doubtless going to be a regular performer here both from the start and off the bench.

7. Ryan Edwards, 25, Albrecht FC, 12 caps (1 as sub), 2 goals
Strength, poise and perfectly-timed runs mark out Ben’s brother, as well as the odd goal; but the younger Edwards at the Scorpions will be fighting for his place, his own dip in form coinciding with Albrecht FC’s dreadful tumble last season. And concerns remain among the press as to whether Healy has loaded his midfield with too many similar players.

16. Jamie González, 25, Arrigo Portuguese, 15 caps (10 as sub), 4 goals
He has the potential to knock the socks off any of the attacking midfielders ahead of him, but González has so far failed to eliminate the erratic nature of his play. His versatility is his major boon to Healy, being equally adept on either flank, down the centre or even up front, but whether this squad really needs another unpredictable element is less certain.

Forwards:

10. Tom Smith, 23, Arrigo Portuguese, STARTING STRIKER, 12 caps, 6 goals
It’s a point worthy of debate as to whether this C&M side even need a centre-forward, given the talent behind any loan frontman, but Healy still seems intent on playing this way. With Ignacio Vélez and Ramiro Novo retired, step forth Tom Smith – physically a clone of Vélez with no great size but a looming physique and powerful right foot. Can he possibly be considered in the same class as his predecessors, however?

9. Joe Cunningham, 28, Clube Imperial [Cafundéu], 27 caps (21 as sub), 13 goals
Remarkably, Cunningham is the fifth-highest goalscorer in the Big Blues’ history, but he will surely always be a supersub. Small and quick, the potential remains for Cunningham to form part of a front three, having performed in that role since moving to Cafundéu.

11. Jason Federici, 24, Cathedral City, 1 cap (as sub), 1 goal
A surprise inclusion in truth, after less than inspiring goal tallies in the last couple of seasons. The Candelarias do have decent strikers coming through… honest… just not quite yet, clearly. Still, if the next-big-thing hasn’t blossomed in quite the manner we had hoped, his clever runs and poacher’s sense are still intact… just.

14. Cas Richardson, 23, Albrecht FC, 10 caps (9 as sub), 2 goals
There’s always one gangly target man in the C&M squad, and this is he. He holds the ball up well and still scores on occasion, and the pressure of leading the line for the Scorpions should enhance his hopes of a regular role.

17. Rául Vélez, 30, Cafundó do Juta [Cafundéu], 27 caps (18 as sub), 6 goals
Younger brother of the now legendary Ignacio, Rául can and has played just about anywhere. A powerful figure, he could start up front if needs be, though Healy may well opt to use him as an occasional replacement for one of the Edwards-Dionísio-Siriwong axis.

24. Vicia Faba, 1, CA Ciudad de las Habas, 2 caps (as sub), 1 goal
A little Hispanic kid, prusumably, and late addition to the squad. Sings alot, not great from set pieces.

Land de Wood
18-08-2008, 22:09
We are delighted to exclusively announce the Land de Wood squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Despite failing to live up to our bill as the favourites for the Baptism of Fire, where we came 3rd due to a semi-final loss to eventual winners West Zirconia, we are still the highest ranked new comers to the World Cup qualifiers and will be looking to impress. Who knows perhaps we may even sneak a qualification spot! Certainly some of our players will be looking to follow in Tom Darkless' footsteps and sign a big money contract in lands afar.

Patrick Clemence plays GK for New Dorset Stars and is 27 years old
As reliable as ever at the Baptism of Fire.

Jonathon Horse plays GK for Wood Town and is 30 years old
Given a chance in the last game of the Oxen Cup but didn't really impress, not given much chance at the Baptism of Fire

Alexander Constantinescu plays GK for Southern Village and is 29 years old
Is the third goalkeeper selected, replacing the experienced Gary Nicol. A surprise choice ahead of the young Steve Pilot whose Olympics performances went against him.

David Aimer plays RB or CB for Coalfires United and is 30 years old
Right footed defender at the peak of his career. Looked assured at right back and at centre back at the Baptism of Fire.

Ray Hamil plays RB for Broxton United and is 21 years old
Young right back ready, likes to get down that right flank and overlap the winger. Hoping to win David Aimer's spot in the team.

Gary Lewis plays CB for Broxton United and is 29 years old
Tall centre back, great to have around for set pieces at either end of the pitch. Given the captains armband.

Stephen Diddon plays CB or DM for Wood Limited and is 23 years old
Centre defender equally happy at anchoring the midfield. Expected to make some tough tackles and will do well to escape without a yellow card this tournament. His commitment and passion make him a likely future captain as he matures.

Angel Guild plays CB for Northern Lights and is 31 years old
Has something to prove after a dismal Baptism of Fire, lucky to be in the squad.

Stephen Sterland plays LB or CB for New Dorset Stars and is 32 years old
Possible just past his peak as a player, has moved into the centre of defense recently as he has lost that yard of pace he used to have, a bit of a surprise he is still around.

Denis Whitemore plays LB for Coalfires United and is 24 years old
A good solid left back, but not too good at going forward. Missed out on a spot in the Baptism of Fire squad.

Woodrow Derby plays LB for Broxton United and is 23 years old
Up and coming left back with plenty of pace to overlap the winger, just has to make sure he gets back in time, possibly better as a wingback in a 3-5-2 system.

Richard Butty plays DM for Broxton United and is 30 years old
Tough tackling defensive midfielder. Expect him to get stuck in if given the chance.

Aaran Whitemore plays RW for Woodhampton Rovers and is 24 years old
Good crosser of the ball. Denis Whitemore's brother. Has a tough fight on his hands to keep that right wing spot from Tom Darkless

Tom Darkless plays RW or AM for KT Hotspur and is 21 years old
Right sided player, good down the winger and behind the front man, impressed at the Baptism of Fire and has just signed a big money move to KT Hotspur

David Clemance plays CM or AM for Wood Limited and is 24 years old
Centre midfielder who likes to get forward. Just as likely to score a goal as set one up. Impressed at the Baptism of Fire

Larry Derby plays CM for Southern Village and is 30 years old
A centre midfielder at the peak of his game. Woodrow Derby's cousin. Struggling to keep a place in the team but rarely lets them down when given the chance.

Gary Workhorse plays CM for New Dorset Stars and is 32 years old
A box to box player, only question mark would be whether he still has the stamina to get around the park as much as he used to. used sparingly at the Baptism of Fire and some thought he might have got the axe for the World Cup qualifiers.

Ray Horse plays AM or CS for Woodhampton Rovers and is 30 years old
Attackive midfielder at the peak of his game, can be switched to attack as a second striker. Expect him to get some assists and si starting to improve his own goals per game ratio.

Kevin Wallace plays LW or RW for New Dorset Stars and is 21 years old
A winger with tons of pace, certainly one for the future but has been a useful substitute to terrorise tired defenders, also allowed Stephen Redrow to switch to the attack when goals dried up at the Baptism of Fire.

Stephen Redrow plays LW or CS for Northern Lights and is 26 years old
Whether playing down the left wing, or up front can be relied on to put the effort in, but not one for the spectacular, still you need consistent players at major tournaments, as he proved at the Baptism of Fire. The question is where to play him.

Richard Higgins plays CS for Wood Limited and is 21 years old
Now looks like a regular fist teamer into the first team after a good Baptism of Fire. Also did well at the Di Bradini Cup and finished joint 2nd top scorer in the league.

Gary Hoggins plays TM for Southern Village and is 29 years old
Reliable target man at the peak of his career. Equally happy heading the ball to a team mate running into space as heading the ball into the back of the net.

Steve Eclair plays CS for Broxton United and is 31 years old
Arguably past his best, surely this will be his last tournament in the squad, having been lacklustre at the Baptism of Fire

David Bomber plays TM for Coalfires United and is 21 years old
Young target man, standing at 6 foot 6, he'll out jump most defenders, just needs to improve his accuracy. Called up from the U-21 and Olympic squads where he got mixed reviews.

The shock news is that experienced goalie Gary Nicol has been dropped, he failed to impress during the Baptism of Fire and young Alexander Constantinescu takes his place as one of three goalies. Also missing is defender John Bell and striker Katsuhito Boyd who failed to impress at the Baptism of Fire, they are replaced by Denis Whitemore and David Bomber.

Dancougar
19-08-2008, 01:24
Dancougar Black Wings: WC42 Roster
4-4-2, +1.5 style
Probable starers in bold

Coach: Charles DuPont
Bio: The man who built Sel Appa into a world power is entering the last tournament of his contract, and analysts believe that DuPont will be on his way out regardless of the outcome. DuPont is... how should we put this... really old. Then again, Simeone Di Brandini lived well into his hundreds. Perhaps the FA is overreacting? You'd think a man who took a team to the World Cup in its second appearance and got them back in the next one would get more respect, but DuPont knows that the FA will likely want some younger blood after this run is over... possibly from a domestic club, possibly not.

GK - Yuji Watanabe (Cafundeu)
International Experience: WC40 Qual, WC40, WC41 Qual, WC41
Bio: Straight out of the University of Fujiwara, Watanabe became a hero in Dancougar after taking the team into the quarterfinals of World Cup 40. It required a penalty shootout victory over Imon Julie... the man he would later replace at Clube Imperial in Cafundeu. He was also superb throughout World Cup 41 qualifiers, helping the Wings qualify with an undefeated record. After knocking off Squornshelous in the first game of the group stage, it seemed like the team would repeat the feat. But Watanabe fell apart in the last two matches, losses of 5-3 and 4-1 to Zwangzug and Vephrall. Did he choke from the pressure, or was it a long time coming? Watanabe's reflexes are superb, but he often wastes energy with big exaggerated motions on the way to the ball.

GK - Grady Saville (Yuki City Athletic)
International Experience: Debut
Bio: The backup 'keeper hails from Yuki City Athletic, a team which has overachieved on the back of a solid defense led by the Orion Star Empire's Cosmin Contra and fellow national team selectee Milan van der Horst. Saville is fundamentally solid but a little slow off his line on set pieces.

D - Mikhail Balalaika (Dynamo Kalinsk)
International Experience: Debut
Bio: Kalinsk have struggled in the D-League, but the team does have a few bright spots. One of them is defender Mikhail Balalaika, who is most comfortable in a sweeper position but has played all over the field. Above average vision and strong work ethic, but he isn't terribly creative. Then again, it's not like defenders have to be.

D - Brandon Barclay (Cafundeu)
International Experience: BoF26, WC39Q, CoH31, WC40Q, WC40, WC41Q, WC41
Bio: The veteran defender has bounced around the Cafundeu first division, but the one constant for him has been national team duty. He is, after all, the man who shuts down the wings for the Wings. He's maybe lost a step in his advancing age, but he's just in his early thirties, now, so he can still scrap. Barclay will have to step up as a leader for a defensive unit which has been victimized by top teams.

D - Casey Berber (Newmanistan)
International Experience: OC6, WC41Q, WC41
Bio: A better defender for his time in Centralia, Berber's energy and charisma are now more easily converted into tangible form. Always a danger to take a crack from distance, Berber can provide a spark on free kicks... of course, should the opponents counter, it's on him to hustle back into the play! Teammate Dan Potts will be happy to see him on the same side, now; it was Berber's Centralia who eliminated Potts' Port Royal in the last TakilQuip, with Berber shutting down his countryman in a pair of wins.

D - Stanley Carter (Grandborough FC)
International Experience: WC40Q, WC40
Bio: A bit player during the Wings' World Cup 40 run, like so many former national teamers, he disappeared into the nation's amateur and semi-pro leagues until the formation of the D-League. Having regained his form, he had the Grandborough defense in top form this past season... if only they could score goals, they might have reached the Globe Cup cutoff. Carter will once again come on as a sub and earn the occasional start, but having been here before, he knows what it takes to play at this level.

D - Ryu Saotome (Coraopolis FC)
International Experience: WC40Q, WC40, OC6
Bio: Then again, if Carter had it bad, at least Grandborough managed to take points from their matches. Saotome can claim to play for one of the harder teams to score against, Coraopolis FC, and yet they finished four spots from the bottom. He's a tireless marker, but he gives up too many free kicks.

D - Milan van der Horst (Yuki City Athletic)
International Experience: Debut
Bio: Milan was one of the stories of the year at Athletic, a product of the Dancougar system who rose to the top with his work ethic and skillful defending. Van der Horst has never played at the international level but has been pegged to start by manager DuPont... will his nerves hold out? If he plays his game, then opposing forwards will have a tough time finding the last pass. If he falters, the middle could really open up.

D - Sho Yukikaze (Coraopolis FC)
International Experience: OC6, WC41Q, WC41
Bio: Another from Coraopolis? The team has defenders, sure enough. At least this season, they were a solid unit, but Yukikaze, like his teammate Saotome, is wildly inconsistent at times. Too many of his fouls are clumsy, too many long balls intercepted... but the man always seems to come up with the big play in the end. Analysts think he and Saotome will be played hard to try and win a contract from a better team.

M - Lyle Dylandy (Sporting Kildare)
International Experience: OC6, WC41Q, WC41
Bio: He was anointed the next big thing to come out of Dancougar, and now what have Kildare got to show for it? He's got a few years left on his contract and he still can't get them into the top third of the table. Dylandy does have a wonderful right foot. He can pick out a man with a pass and deliver it just a step ahead so he can receive it in stride. He can dribble, he can run, yes, but can he win? Dylandy doesn't fight as hard for the fifty-fifty balls as a stud midfielder should, and his off-the-ball play could use a little work, too.

M - Anthony Ingram (Sporting Lakeport)
International Experience: OC6
Bio: Sporting Lakeport enjoyed a run into international qualification this past season thanks in part to the play of Ingram, who didn't get a lot of action in Oxen Cup VI but can nevertheless put it on his resume as international duty. Ingram's a solid player, although there's nothing about him that really stands out. Physical in the air, sometimes too much so.

M - Jericho Leyton (Elves Security Forces) [Captain]
International Experience: BoF26, WC39Q, CoH31, WC40Q, WC40, WC41Q, WC41
Bio: The old standby in the midfield; Leyton has hit his prime with Everlin Snipers and helped keep them afloat in the top flight despite being surrounded by transfer talk. "I'm quite happy with Everlin; the fans have been supportive, and to be a part of a team on the rise is really something," he said, "although it's the business of the game... if I'm sold, I'm sold." Hey, now, speak up if you want to have a say in this! Leyton has gotten a better feel for both sides of the ball, now, and can direct traffic going either way. He prefers to attack, but will plug up the middle when needed.

M - Kazuki Midorikawa (Shuukyuu Kishin)
International Experience: Debut
Bio: Midorikawa distinguished himself as Shuukyuu Kishin established itself as the class of the D-League, and has always been there to provide excellent service to forwards Paul Dinsmoor and Jenny Sloan. But he'll have to settle for being a substitute here, as Midorikawa is really a raw talent who's been molded carefully by the pipeline through the years. His vision and pace are above average, but he's an easy player to read - absolutely dreadful accuracy with the right foot.

M - Akira Morimoto (Daehanjeiguk)
International Experience: BoF26, WC39Q, CoH31, WC40Q, WC40, WC41Q, WC41
Bio: Once wonders how much longer the free kick wizard can serve them up for the national team. He's lost some of his speed, which makes him less of a threat down the wings. And that makes it harder to serve balls into the box, which are supposed to be his key contribution. Analysts think he'll be used in a more defensive position, this time, and let Whittaker and Dylandy handle the forward surges out of midfield. But has this discouraged the Hazuki State product? Morimoto says he's fit, and if his form on the practice field is any indication, he's got some fight in him, yet.

M - Kevin Underwood (Yafor 2)
International Experience: WC40Q, WC40, OC6, WC41Q, WC41
Bio: He's seen the world since coming out of Lunarossa... he went to open tries in Daehanjeiguk and was dismissed, only to catch the eye of IYC Hadaris in Yafor 2, where he now plays his club football. He's certainly not complaining, and his determination has helped him mature into a better all-around player. Underwood is undersized, but he's happy to fight it out with opposing midfielders... which probably explains all the bookings.

M - Hikaru Waya (Mizuno no Juuichi)
International Experience: BoF26, WC39Q, CoH31
Bio: Another player who has benefited from the emergence of the D-League, Waya is out to prove that he was better than a substitute way back during Dancougar's World Cup debut. And he's certainly used that to fuel his return to form for Mizuno no Juuichi, with his deep passes and timely goals bringing them up to the middle of the table - ah, it's their defense that needs work. And his own defensive abilities could use a little tuneup, which is why he'll return to the bench that he so desperately wants to leave.

M - Benjamin Whittaker (Daehanjeiguk)
International Experience: TC1, WC40Q, WC40, WC41Q, WC41
Bio: The former midfielder for the Rizzi Salamanders played his way onto the national team during the forgettable Turtle Cup, and since then he's been improving all aspects of his game in the constantly shifting landscape of Daehanjeiguk. Whittaker's reaching his peak physical condition, which suits his style of play just perfectly. The man is a machine - he'll run all over the pitch after loose balls, hurry opponents to make them misplay balls, and after taking a tumble, he'll simply get up and say, "Thank you, sir, may I have another?"

F - Jeffrey Cale (Aiken City United)
International Experience: BoF26, WC39Q, CoH31
Bio: He's finally rejoined his partner in crime from the early days, Hideo Ikeda, but my, how the two diverged. Cale has four international goals to his name, while Ikeda has thirty. Cale bounced around tiny teams all over Dancougar while Ikeda popularized the Cafundeu first division back home. But when Aiken City came calling, Cale was back, and in hot form. He anchored a strike force that was second only to champions Shuukyuu Kishin in goals scored this past season, and he'll play in his second TakilQuip. Back on the national team, he wants desperately to make up for lost time.

F - Shiro Furuya (Cafundeu)
International Experience: WC40Q, WC40, WC41Q, WC41
Bio: Furuya can't seem to cut a break, despite his numerous selections to the national team. Central United has moved his contract, and according to DuPont, he's probably a second-choice sub behind either Ikeda or Cale. Furuya has scored big goals in the past with energetic runs, but he was so dearly to make the big play that his best efforts can turn into the worst of blunders.

F - Hideo Ikeda (Cafundeu)
International Experience: BoF26, WC39Q, CoH31, WC40Q, WC40, WC41Q, WC41
Bio: The national team's all-time leading scorer will warm the bench for the first time, as Ikeda is starting to show signs of a slowdown. He's leaned a lot from his time in Cafundeu, to be sure, but his creativity has always been a cause for concern. He's still got plenty left in those legs of his, but this is probably the twilight of his international career.

F - Shishio Jinguuji (Cafundeu)
International Experience: WC40Q, WC40, WC41Q, WC41
Bio: Since his first national-team call-up as a sophomore in college, everyone figured that the mantle would eventually pass to Shishio Jinguuji, whose ability to fit the ball into tight spots makes him a good option as both a striker and a distributor. He figures to get even more chances now that Ikeda is taking a seat, but Jinguuji says that he'd rather win than score a million goals. That's the right attitude to have, but I wonder if he'll sing the same tune if the Wings suffer the same collapse they did in World Cup 41?

F - Dan Potts (Port Royal FC)
International Experience: OC6
Bio: He sat on the bench in Oxen Cup VI and watched Ryan Adelaide, Greg Littlefield, and Lenny Manchester get the starts - and the foreign contracts. But who's heard from those three since they disappeared into Daehanjeiguk? Potts has Port Royal FC purring. He's finished in the top three in scoring in each of the D-League's three seasons thus far, although Jeruselem phenom Jennifer Sloan still has his number. Nevertheless, he's gotten to the group stage of the TakilQuip, whereas dearest Jenny has not. So you can possibly put that down under international experience, although he - and Dancougar's fans - are hoping his run turns out better than Port Royal's!

Liventia
19-08-2008, 02:40
Liventia, a former two-time world champion from its days as Liverpool England (WC8, WC24), left the World Cup following its failure to qualify for World Cup 33, nearly thirty years ago. The state of football in the country quickly fell into ruins; multiple attempts to get the High League back up and running failed miserably. The subsequent political troubles in the country, which resulted in total reform of the constitution, has now produced one thing: a new footballing future for the nation.

Liventia's team for the 42nd World Cup has almost no professional experience playing football, therefore as of now there is not much information to do write-ups on them. However, the coaches involved do have much experience, including the manager: World Cup 32 captain Giovanni Toulmin, who's now nearly 45. His assistant, Jeff Houser, was also a part of the WC32 team, in which he was the youngest starter.

Manager: Giovanni TOULMIN, 45
Assistant: Jeff HOUSER, 43
Modifier: +1.2
Tactic: 3-1-4-2-1

Starters are bolded.

Goalkeepers
1. Nathan BELL, 21
13. Sam BELL, 21
14. Adrian BELL, 18
All three goalkeepers, from the same family, impressed Toulmin and Houser in selection trials. Nathan and Sam are non-identical twins.

Defenders
2. Alex CARTER, 23, DC
4. Kyle MILLER, 19, DC
5. Julian LEE, 22, DC
19. Jacob HUGHES, 20, D/WB L
21. Ethan MURPHY, 23, D/WB R
22. Kenneth HOUSER, 19, D/DM C
Houser is the son of assistant manager and former World Cup defender Jeff, who has been called up on advice of his father. However, he has not been handed a starting role. He is expected to come on mostly as a substitute, mostly for Miller, although also occasionally for Marshall.

Midfielders
3. Colin MARSHALL, 22, DMC, captain, penalty kick taker
6. Dominic CLARKE, 27, MC
7. Brian HILL, 25, MC
12. Ryan SMITH, 20, MR
8. Alex HALL, 24, ML
15. David SIMPSON, 18, MC
16. Caleb POWELL, 19, M R/C
Marshall has been handed the captaincy based on leadership skills he showed during selection trials. Marshall, who trained in Ad’ihan under Luke Evans when he was a few years younger, is thought to be the brightest prospect in the country.

Strikers
9. Carson SHAW, 24, AMC, vice-captain, free-kick taker
10. Ian GREEN, 22, AMC
11. Aaron SCOTT, 20, ST
17. Steven ROGERS, 23
18. Tyler MORRIS, 20
23. Gabriel CAMPBELL, 18
24. David TURNER, 19
Shaw, who is the only professional in the squad, plays for Ad’ihani second division side Altsend, and is thought to be a rough diamond. His skills need a bit of polishing, but he has a deadly free-kick.

Terreiro de Ogum
19-08-2008, 03:42
THE INDEPENDANT TERRITORY OF TERREIRO DE OGUM TEAM LIST FOR THE WORLD CUP 41

Style is -4.2 (or the minimum possible from -4)

ÈPA BÀBÁ! After years trying to get our independence, our lovely country of Terreiro de Ogum was finally able to escape from the control of Estresse Intenso’s government (although that control was already inexistent). Now we are a country, thanks to our mystical power and thanks to Olorun, our great god! And, now, using our magic abilities, team work, faith and different practices, with the help of our Orixás (Orisha), we will now try to win games against the biggest opponents. Oxalá we will win something! Now, see our list of players:

“Oxalá guie nossos guerreiros do futebol rumo a vitória, usando o poder de Ogum, o apoio de Iemanjá e o braço forte de Xangô!”

The 26 players (yes, Terreiro de Ogum has 26 players in its roster) – use the names in BOLD in the RPs (no need to put their names in capital letters too, please):

Each player has a pre-game ritual, which will be made in every game that they play as starters only. There are 5 levels of spiritual strength: very low, low, average, high and very high.

Goalkeepers (the hands that hold our faith):

1- Baitolah BIBAH
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Iemanjá.
Spiritual Strength: Average.
Info: Baitolah Bibah is the most talented goalkeeper of Terreiro de Ogum. Born and raised in the territory, Baitolah is an orphan rose by a famous mãe-de-santo, and learnt how to prepare medicinal recipes to help the ill with her. He is funny, talkative and loves to show himself to the public. He is homosexual, and often makes jokes of the opponents of Terreiro de Ogum.
Pre-Game Ritual: a lover of foreign music, Baitolah Bibah is the last member of the team to enter in the field, wearing his full pink goalkeeper clothes. When he enters, the music “I Will Survive” is played (or other music associated with homosexuality).

12- Wladmir Girnos Bueno “PAPAGAIO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Ayrà.
Spiritual Strength: Average.
Info: this man is crazy. Seriously. Wladmir, usually known as Papagaio, can’t communicate well with other people. He has serious difficulties in creating phrases of his own. He lives in a small village, where he works as a mechanic. His life isn’t special, but now he has been recruited to play in the National Team, due to his incredible agility. He is called Papagaio (parrot in Portuguese) because, as he can’t create his own phrases, he repeats what the other people say.
Pre-Game Ritual: if Papagaio plays as a starter, this means that Bibah isn’t playing. So, Papagaio will be the last player to enter in the field, making gestures to his teammates, who probably won’t understand him.

22- Bianca Marçal Nínive “CIRCENSE”
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Obá.
Spiritual Strength: High.
Info: this young woman is just 16 years old, but became the third choice of the Terreiro de Ogum National Team for the goalkeeper position due to her incredible elasticity and acrobatic moves (she is a circus star), that help her to make saves with less difficulty. She lives in a small village that doesn’t have a terreiro, so she’s not much linked with Umbanda rituals. But she is very sensitive and can feel the presence of the orixás.
Pre-Game Ritual: if Circense plays as a starter, she’ll be the first player to enter in the field (yes, even before Preto Véio). She’ll look extremely happy and will make some acrobatic moves, a small show for the supporters.

Full-Backs (the messengers of our future):

2- Ananias dos Santos “BICHO GRILO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Exú.
Spiritual Strength: High.
Info: the terreiro leaders usually are the ones that make the homemade medicines, but Bicho Grilo is the one that finds the ingredients. With extremely high knowledge of the plants and animals that live in the terrain of Terreiro de Ogum, Bicho Grilo can easily survive in the jungle and find any kind of plant there. Due to his love for nature, you can find him talking with animals, but this usually happens only after he smokes his marijuana, something that he does daily (every hour, I should say).
Pre-Game Ritual: one of the last players to enter in the field, Bicho Grilo enters in an extremely low pace; walking on the grass and feeling it (he doesn’t wear shoes). He has long hair and beard, and smokes marijuana in the field (if it isn’t a country where marijuana is prohibited).

6- Ubiratan de Carvalho Quirino “TOQUINHO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Xangô.
Spiritual Strength: Low.
Info: brother of another starter of the National Team, Guaxinim, Toquinho is a dwarf, and is a bit taller than his brother. He has an incredible speed, and due to that usually works as a messenger in the territory, making the contact between different terreiros possible. When playing football, Toquinho is responsible for fast counterattacks and good long passes, but doesn’t score many goals.
Pre-Game Ritual: Toquinho will be one of the first players to enter in the field. He likes to show his speed to the supporters, so he’ll enter with full speed, reaching his position in few seconds.

16- Joe Hi-Kim “ZEN”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Oxumaré.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: the Umbanda attracts many people, who were used to follow a different religion. But unlike other religions, the Umbanda practitioner doesn’t have to abandon his former religion to get into contact with the orixás. And this situation was perfect for Zen. Follower of Shinto, Zen went to Terreiro de Ogum to learn about the place where strange rituals where being made. He loved the place, and started living here. Zen is a formidable defender, calm and secure, and has a high spirituality.
Pre-Game Ritual: if Zen plays as a starter, he’ll enter in an intermediate position in the order of players. He’ll walk quietly to his position, wave to the supporters of both teams, and later meditate a bit to be concentrated for the game.

23- HORÁCIO Valente “BAIXOTE”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Ibeji.
Spiritual Strength: Very Low.
Info: Horácio Baixote is the third dwarf of the Terreiro de Ogum National Team. Cousin of the starters Toquinho and Guaxinim, Horácio Baixote is much younger than them, and because of that his football talent isn’t developed. If he has one. He isn’t a very good player, but has a very good fighting spirit. So bad that he lacks strength, otherwise would be a very good defender because of that.
Pre-Game Ritual: Horácio Baixote will enter in an intermediate position in the order of the team. He’ll enter with the ball, controlling it and reaching the middle of the field.

Defenders (the guardians of our honour):

3- Maria Celeste Ernestelli “RECLUSA”
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Yewá.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: no one knows from where she came exactly, or about her life before reaching Terreiro de Ogum. All they know about her was in her documents, a passport from Cafundéu and a library card. She was adopted by a mãe-de-santo when she was only a child, and soon it was discovered that she is extremely sensitive, being able to have contact with spirits and to being possessed by them. This power has been explored by her “mother”, and she is now famous because of her ability. When not possessed, she doesn’t speak with anyone, with the exception of her “mother”.
Pre-Game Ritual: in fact, Reclusa doesn’t have any special pre-game ritual. She will enter before Bibah, so will be one of the last ones to enter. She will quietly go to her position in the field.

4- Jorge Diniz Sodré “PRETO VÉIO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Nanã.
Spiritual Strength: High.
Info: this man is a wanderer, known in the whole territory. A nice, calm man who likes to chat with everyone, from the commoner to the powerful mãe or pai-de-santo. But he specially enjoys chatting with the children, telling histories to them about his adventures. He has no enemies, and can be considered the most honest and respected person in Terreiro de Ogum.
Pre-Game Ritual: Preto Véio is the first player to enter in the field, going directly to the sector of the stadium where the Terreiro de Ogum supporters are. He’ll wave to them and after that will shake hands with his opponents, being nice with everyone.

13- José Carlos Pereira Filho “ZECA DA PONTE”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Oxóssi.
Spiritual Strength: Low.
Info: although Terreiro de Ogum’s authorities try to make the country successful in social equality, there are many things to do yet. When the territory was under the control of Estresse Intenso, there wasn’t social equality, but now, with the independence, the leader pai-de-santo is trying to give better conditions for the poor. Zeca da Ponte is one of these poor people. He lives under a bridge, sometimes without something to eat, completely miserable. But, as a player, Zeca da Ponte has some ability as a defender, and can get something to eat during the competitions.
Pre-Game Ritual: when Zeca da Ponte is selected as a starter, he enters in the field and asks the referee for food. Searches the field for some bread or other kind of food. If he doesn’t find anything, becomes very frustrated.

16- Janaína Soraya Couto “RAINHA”
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Iyami-Ajé.
Spiritual Strength: High.
Info: the woman with most children in Terreiro de Ogum, Rainha has family ties with a lot of people, as her mother also had many children. She is not a mãe-de-santo, but is good at making rituals to call the orixás too. She is a bit crazy, so sometimes can become angry without reason or complain about things that didn’t happen. She is very respected by the citizens of Terreiro de Ogum, as she is the leader now of the biggest family (in number of people) of the country.
Pre-Game Ritual: Rainha loves her family. So, she’ll enter the field behind Pai Berto if put as a starter, being accompanied by her children (all her 16 children), giving a kiss on each of them before the start of the game.

20- Victor Cirino da Alvorada “BEBUM”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Egungun.
Spiritual Strength: Low.
Info: Bebum is another drunken man of Terreiro de Ogum, as Pinguinha. The difference between them is that Bebum doesn’t have to look after money to be able to buy his cachaça or beer. No, the other people give him money for him to do so. Why? Because Bebum, even drunk, has always everything interesting to talk about, and is also a good snooker player. In football, is just average.
Pre-Game Ritual: Bebum won’t enter in the field with a bottle of cachaça. No. He will enter with a barrel of beer. Will offer it to his teammates and to his opponents, and later will go to his place in the field.

Defensive Midfielders (holders of our home):

10- PAI BERTO de Tucumã de Obalatá
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Obalatá/Oxalá.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: son of the “leader” of Terreiro de Ogum, Pai Alcir de Macaé, Pai Berto is a talented pai-de-santo, who focuses on helping the people of the territory in the area of health. Some people say that Pai Berto has a better sensitivity than his father, and that he is a natural leader. His knowledge of the orixás and of the umbanda magic became legendary. Now in the National Team, Pai Berto is the captain and “boss” of the team, with more powers than the coach.
Pre-Game Ritual: while Preto Véio is the first one to enter in the field, Pai Berto is the second. He enters with his full-white clothes, wore by all pais-de-santo, and raises his arms to the sky, before making homage to the orixás.

5- DONA ROSA Lozano Pumete
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Ossaim.
Spiritual Strength: Average.
Info: this old woman is a very good football player, and one of the major negotiators of Terreiro de Ogum. She makes contact with other countries, and this is very important to guarantee the autonomy of the country. She isn’t much involved in the religious ceremonies of the country, but she likes watching them, and, because of that, has some knowledge about them.
Pre-Game Ritual: Dona Rosa isn’t one of the first or one of the last players to enter in the field. In fact, she doesn’t do anything special. Just enters in the field and talks with each player of the Terreiro de Ogum team.

15- Rafael Rocha Brumes “ARMÁRIO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Xangô.
Spiritual Strength: Average.
Info: the most strong person of the team. Without any doubt. Armário is 2 meters tall and weighs a lot too. But he isn’t overweight, he is strong. He is the security guard of Pai Alcir de Macaé, and no other person of the country have the courage to fight against him. Only his presence intimidates the opponents. In the National Team, will play as defensive midfielder, and will probably win many tackles.
Pre-Game Ritual: if Armário plays as a starter, he’ll enter in the field together with Pai Berto, looking at the stands to try to see if there’s someone or something that can harm the pai-de-santo.

24- MÃE EDITH de Maná de Ifá
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Ifá.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: an evil mãe-de-santo, Mãe Edith is the only one of the team that you can accuse of making “black magic”. She is a very talented mãe-de-santo, with an enormous knowledge of rituals and of the orixás, and very strong spirituality. Too bad that she decided to make rituals to harm others rather than ones to help the people. She is the one that destroy relationships, put illnesses in people, make someone get fired from his/her job, and other bad things. She and Tramóia are the ones that won’t follow Terreiro de Ogum’s policy of respecting an opponent, making dark rituals.
Pre-Game Ritual: Mãe Edith, when playing as a starter, will enter just before Reclusa and Bibah. She’ll use a completely white outfit, will raise her hands to the sky as soon as she enters the field and will say something that no one will understand. She seems very strange and mysterious.

Attacking Midfielders (seekers of our prosperity):

9- Liceu Modesto Babuíno “PINGUINHA”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Oxóssi.
Spiritual Strength: Low.
Info: Pinguinha is a drunken man. He simply loves to drink cachaça, and does the possible to get some money to have something with alcohol to drink. He doesn’t do anything illegal, but everything else… for him, the cachaça is more important than everything else. He is a good football player, even when drunk, and will have sufficient motivation to want to score goals and create plays for the team.
Pre-Game Ritual: Pinguinha enters in the field in an intermediate position in the order. All he does is to get his bottle of cachaça, throw a bit of the liquid in the grass, and then drink the remaining after making a short prayer.

8- Rafael Graziano “TRAMÓIA”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Oxum.
Spiritual Strength: Very Low.
Info: a criminal, expert in stealing, sneaking into places without being noticed and preparing traps for the opponents. Tramóia is one of the few players that won’t respect the opponent, trying to get advantage in every play using dirty tricks. He is very good at making these tricks without being noticed, so it’ll be difficult for him to receive a card, as he probably won’t get caught. He isn’t popular in Terreiro de Ogum for being a criminal, but his talents will be very useful for the National Team, as he’ll be the main responsible for creating offensive plays.
Pre-Game Ritual: Tramóia is one of the first players to enter in the field, but he won’t be noticed until the entrance of Reclusa. He’ll appear in the middle of the field, surprising everyone and laughing, probably holding an item stolen from someone from the stands.

17- Lara Motta Ithiel “POMBA GIRA”
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Exú.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: Lara is just a common woman, who works as a waitress in a famous bar in Macumba, the capital of Terreiro de Ogum. But what Lara doesn’t know is that she has a big spiritual sensitivity, something that was discovered when she went to a terreiro. The spirit of the Pomba Gira possessed her. Now this ability will be used in the football team, as the Pomba Gira is a very good dribbler.
Pre-Game Ritual: Lara will enter in the field without being possessed. When all the players of Terreiro de Ogum have entered, she’ll become the Pomba Gira, shouting and making gestures.

19- PAI Makabi Tomake “ÁFRICA”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Oxalá.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: the person that was the main responsible for the independency of Terreiro de Ogum, Pai África is currently the oldest pai-de-santo alive in the country. He says that he came from África (what’s this? Some kind of spiritual realm?), and knows the orixás and their preferences like no other. He knows rituals that no other pai or mãe-de-santo from Terreiro de Ogum knows. As a football player, can’t play much because of his age, but has an excellent vision.
Pre-Game Ritual: if selected as a starter, which is something very rare, Pai África will enter just after Preto Véio. In fact, he doesn’t need to do anything special. The supporters of Terreiro de Ogum will stand up and applause him.

Attackers (conquers of our glory):

7- Matheus de Carvalho Quirino “GUAXINIM”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Oxumarê.
Spiritual Strength: Average.
Info: brother of another starter of the National Team, Toquinho, Guaxinim is a dwarf, and is a bit smaller than his brother. Good in positioning and good at predicting what the other players will do (thanks to good knowledge of the football), is a very good attacker who will make many assists. He is very fast too, so is a special weapon for the counterattacks, as his passes to his team mate Master Kacet are perfect. Another thing that can surprise many is his good ability at heading.
Pre-Game Ritual: Guaxinim is the one that has the best relationship with the supporters. So, he will be one of the first players to enter in the field, calling the supporters to sing for the team, to send Terreiro de Ogum to the victory.

11- MESTRE Timóteo Hora Novaes KACET
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Ogum.
Spiritual Strength: High.
Info: one of the most famous and influential people of Terreiro de Ogum, Mestre (Master) Kacet is probably the only one that is known outside the territory. He is the best Capoeira master of the world, thanks to his great abilities, superb technique and good reflexes, this among other skills. A football lover too, Mestre Kacet joined the team wanting to use his Capoeira ability to score goals. And he can do that. Most of his moves are a mix between Capoeira and football, so expect to see him scoring goals using acrobatic moves. He is also a very friendly person, and likes to talk with the defender that is marking him.
Pre-Game Ritual: Mestre Kacet’s entrance order isn’t an exact one. He can sometimes enter as one of the last players, or as one of the first ones. But, when he enters, he smiles to the cameras and makes some of his Capoeira moves, to impress everyone, especially his opponents.

18- Sandro Viriatlo “DEMO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Nanã.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: this man has the ability of summon the most evil and devilish spirits. Since he was born, Sandro often did evil things due to the influence of these spirits. He only discovered his spiritual ability after visiting a terreiro, and since then many pais and mães-de-santo are trying to help him to avoid the influence of these spirits, although sometimes they can give some good hints about supernatural things. Demo is the name of the evil spirit that controls Sandro when he plays football, a deadly attacker with an excellent long ranged shot.
Pre-Game Ritual: if Sandro plays as a starter, he’ll immediately be transformed in Demo when he steps on the grass. His expressions and gestures change drastically, and he fights for the ball even before the game starts.

21- Leão do Federal “COBRADOR”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Ogum.
Spiritual Strength: Low.
Info: what is the Leão do Federal doing in this National Team? The answer is easy. No one is better at finding breaches in the opponent’s defence than him. The Cobrador, as he is more commonly called, is the “Tax Collector” of Terreiro de Ogum. As the country doesn’t use money, he gets some food from the families of the country to use in the government’s programs of assist of the poor. The Cobrador is a very determined player, and never will give up of a play.
Pre-Game Ritual: the Cobrador will enter in the field using a black-tie outfit. When he reaches his position in the field, he’ll remove his clothes (no, he won’t play naked. He’ll use the normal Terreiro de Ogum kit) and get prepared to play the game.

25- Pirimeu Tossatto “CIENTISTA”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Iemanjá.
Spiritual Strength: Low.
Info: Cientista is a person that believes in the orixás, but doesn’t believe in their supernatural nature. He doesn’t believe that they are spirits or representatives of the god Olorun. He thinks that they are something physical, which could be explained with the use of the science. Most of our citizens feel sad by him, because it’s certain that the orixás are spirits. As a football player, is a talented attacker.
Pre-Game Ritual: the Scientist (Cientista) will enter in the field with a piece of paper in one hand and a pencil in another, making notes of interesting things that he saw in the entrance of the field. Later, will go to his place in the field.

Joker (plays in all sectors) - (the chosen one):

0- João Miguel “ILUMINADO”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: guided by all orixás.
Spiritual Strength: Enormously Huge.
Info: the Iluminado is the chosen one, the one that received the power of being able to see the orixás and contact them when he wants to. All the orixás guide him in his path, and his objective is to bring peace to the people of Terreiro de Ogum and to make them follow the umbanda with faith and justice. He is only able to play 30 minutes per game, and during it he receives all the power from the orixás to triumph, surely a gifted player, someone which qualities aren't of this world.
Pre-Game Ritual: the Iluminado will never start a game. But, before entering in the field, he will raise his hands to the sky, and the sunlight will be directed at him (yes, the sun will do it).

Staff Members (controllers of our destiny):

Coach: Duílio Menezes “BLIND MAGICIAN”
Gender: Male.
Orixá Guide: Iansã.
Spiritual Strength: Very High.
Info: Duílio, called Blind Magician by nearly everyone (only his mother calls him Duílio) is a pai-de-santo with good leadership and some abilities as a football coach, thanks to his contact with spirits of dead football coaches. His style is very defensive and cautious, that’s why Terreiro de Ogum is a defensive team. He is blind, but has a supernatural perception that allows him to walk and do other things like if he could see.
Pre-Match Ritual: when the Blind Magician enters in the field, he gets some grass from it and eats it. After that, he makes a short prayer and goes to his place in the bench, in a very slow way.

Assistant: ÍRIS Duarte Serafim
Gender: Female.
Orixá Guide: Yewá.
Spiritual Strength: Average.
Info: the assistant of the Blind Magician is probably the most common member of the team. She is a young woman, who works together with the Blind Magician in his terreiro, helping him to prepare the rituals. She has knowledge about the orixás, but lacks spiritual strength. She is very happy with her life and loves helping her master, but her job is very simple.
Pre-Game Ritual: Íris enters together with the Blind Magician, following him and watching him to see if he will fall (she knows that he can walk alone, but still worries for her master).

Formation: basic 4-4-2 (style is -4.2):

-------------------------Bibah-------------------------
--Bicho Grilo-----Reclusa-------Preto Véio---Toquinho---
-------------Pai Berto----------Dona Rosa--------------
------Pinguinha-------------------------Tramóia--------
--------------Mestre Kacet---Guaxinim------------------

RP Permissions: you're free to choose scorers, send cards to my players (red card limit is 2), RP injuries (light ones) and other things (but these things can't be very unreal (can be a bit unreal) or serious (involving death, arrest, etc.)

Stadium: Terreiro de Ogum do Pai Alcir
Info: part of the big terreiro of Pai Alcir de Macaé, this field doesn’t have grass, only dirt, but is a good place for playing football, as the players will be able to get in contact with the orixás playing in this marvellous place.

Kits (made by JMC):
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c58/Krytenia/TDO40.png

Details about Terreiro de Ogum: this country is in fact a small part of Estresse Intenso that got its independence few years ago. In fact, it already had full autonomy, due to the fact that Estresse Intenso’s government can’t control the country well (the country is a complete anarchy). But, anyway, Terreiro de Ogum is now independent, and due to this could have relations with other countries, something that the territory wasn’t able to do before. One of these things is football. The team couldn’t play in international competitions, but now it’s replacing the Landau Institute, which decided to stop playing in international competitions due to the death of The Machine.

The citizens of the country don’t have money, so they divide everything that they have. Their leader is the most experienced “pai-de-santo”, currently Pai Alcir de Macaé, father of the captain of the National Team Pai Berto de Tucumã, who is a pai-de-santo too. Their language is a mixed of different spiritual languages. The most important fact about the country is its religion. ALL the citizens follow the Umbanda religion, although some of them also respect and practice related religions like Candomblé and Quimbanda (Macumba). You can use Wikipedia to get information about these religions. They make mystical pre-game rituals, but nothing is done to harm the opponent: before everything, they respect their opponents like brothers, and would like to be respected too. Oh… expect some phrases in Portuguese during our RPs.

Milchama Get Real Roster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WE GOT IT RIGHT! WE GOT IT RIGHT! MILCHAMA HAS A REAL ROSTER FOR AN INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT! WITH REAL FOOTBALLERS AND EVERYTHING! Sorry about the Capslock but it was necessary. The Knesset decided to pass authority to pick football teams back to the MFA who then did not screw up and picked the WC 40 roster, verbatim to represent Milchama. Coach Thomas Markin said, "We probably shouldn't have overreacted after WC 41, everybody makes mistakes now and again, plus the Knesset was a lot worse." Anyway here's the new and improved Milchama roster:

Other notes:
- I usually have back stories for players but because my RPs rarely reference players anymore I really don't for this generation. Please create some for me that'd be awesome.
- I have an overtly Jewish nation but it is a nation of Warriors and there is always tension. If you want to have that tension bubble over in the form of violence please go ahead.
- My favorite player Marc J. Floren always comes back once a cup and scores an improbable goal. I haven't thought of a good scenario yet if you have a good one please either TG me or just RP it if you are my opponent. (Current scenarios include: running in from the stands, scoring after falling into the stadium on an unexploded missile, being beamed down by aliens, reappearing from the Dreamed Realm.)

The Archregimancy

THE ARCHREGIMANCY BRINGS YOU

THE WORLD CUP 41 SQUAD

First of all, everyone except newbies knows that the Archregimancy is a nation of Eastern Orthodox Christian monks, right? Newbies may also need to be reminded that the Archregimancy was once a top-10 team; their slide through the rankings stands as definitive proof that our ranking system does allow for movement in both directions (small consolation though that may be to the monks). Feel free to RP their fall from grace as you see fit - though now they might be (fingers-crossed) on the way back up again

Following their best World Cup in some time in World Cup 41 - which saw the Archregimancy not only qualify for the tournament again, but actually make the second round - the Monastic Football Association has decided not to tamper with a winning formula. So once again we bring you, with an unchanged line-up....

THE DESERT FATHERS OF THE ARCHREGIMANCY

This is a team of otherworldly ascetics, honed by fasting, sure in spirit, and sworn to the rigours of the desert hermit life.

COACH -
Fr. Anthony the Great: This much-loved and imitated one hundred year old influential ascetic's life of solitude and discipline has attracted many disciples over the years, but has been temporarily set aside so that he may guide the Archregimancy as God (as revealed by the Monastic Football Association)has commanded.

GOAL
Fr. Epiphanius of Cyfrus: Legendary for his denouncements of paganism and love of books and learning. Less known for being a goalkeeper, and possible the team's weak spot.

DEFENCE
Fr. Evagrius the Scholar: One of the most learned monks in the Archregimancy, Fr. Evagrius now tackles at left back instead of tackling the teachings of Origen.

Fr. Macarius the Egyptian: Renowned for his wisdom, gentleness and austerity, Fr. Macarius hopes to use his spiritual nature to humble opposing centre forwards.

Fr. Moses the Black: By Archregimancy standards, Fr. Moses is known as something of a comedian - why, you should hear the one about the two Catholics, the Freemason and Hellfire! His nickname is an unsubtle reference to his Nubian origins.

Fr. Postumianus the Biographer: Still ensconced in volume 26 of his definitive 'Life of St. Martin of Tours', Fr Postumianus has nonetheless set aside his quill to play at right back.

MIDFIELD
Fr. John Cassian: Influential compiler of Monastic wisdom who has a lethal left foot cross (not the True Cross, of course).

Fr. John the Dwarf: Short of stature, but big on spirituality, Fr. John has been forced to live in a cave underground in an effort to elude his many followers and admirers. His low centre of gravity and consequent dribbling skill has seen him nicknamed the 'Fr. Diego of the Archregimancy'.

Fr. Arsenius the Golden: Once from a noble family in the Holy Empire, Fr. Arsenius threw away the temporary wealth of this life for greater hope of salvation in the next. A close disciple of Fr. John the Dwarf (with whom he forms a solid central midfield pair), Fr. Arsenius' silence and austerity, combined with his learning and former magnificent lifestyle make him a source of wonder to simpler monks.

Fr. Ephraim the Syrian: Famous Archregimancy writer and poet who is swift to acknowledge the Lord's righteous judgement from the wing.

FORWARDS
Fr. Rufinius the New Ascetic: Fairly new to the life of the desert hermit compared to the rest of the team, and said to have been a top forward in the Imperial League of the Holy Empire prior to following the monastic life.

Poeman: Enigmatic centre forward said to be the youngest of seven brothers. Also called 'pastor' and 'shepherd' by his many followers, stories of his monastic prowess, humble ascetic life and skill with the direct free kick are legion.

Team Icon

The team is always accompanied to matches by the Holy Icon of the Mother of God, Bringer of Victory, which shall be paraded before the team before all home and away qualifiers. The Holy Icon looks like:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/vakraas/theotokos_of_nicopeia2.jpg

Tips for footballing visitors to the Archregimancy:

1) Each home match is preceded by the complete Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. Rest assured that this should only require visiting teams, fans, and officials to stand for a mere 2 hours before kickoff. Consider yourselves lucky we don't use the Liturgy of St. Basil.

2) We control the nature of reality in the Dreamed Realm. This isn't used to cheat - all normal rules of football are strenuously followed - but it does have two major side effects:
A) Any injuries to either team in Archregimancy home matches are immediately healed.
B) No violent or riotous behaviour by visiting fans will be tolerated. Any such behaviour will find those responsible immediately transported back to ordinary physical reality.

3) Direct travel from ordinary physical reality to the Dreamed Realm is impossible. Some 72 hours before your away qualifier in the Archregimancy, a team of monks shall arrive in your home stadium and construct a portal to the Dreamed Realm. You may then use this to travel to the Archregimancy at your leisure.

4) Visiting support is limited to a maximum of 1000 travellers. They are encouraged to bring their own water supplies.

5) Women are not usually permitted into the Archregimancy. Exceptions will be made for visiting players and properly accredited officials - largely because we have to - but not for visiting supporters (see information on visiting support permitted this cup under point 4).

6) Formerly, the Archregimancy made a point of being resentful of being forced to permit atheists, communists, freemasons, assorted heretics and foul excelites into the Archregimancy for home qualifiers. These days the Monastic Football Association tries a little harder to welcome all of the above – though largely in the hope that might just possibly be open to conversion through a slightly more conciliatory approach. The saint-stealing schismatics from Magna Sancta Sedes are an exception; they're extremely and specifically unwelcome. Even less welcome than those whores from Jeruselem.

HOME GROUND

In the hope that it will provide the Desert Fathers with something of a home advantage, all home qualifiers will be played in the middle of the desert:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/vakraas/P1050797.jpg
(groundsmen from the Holy Empire prepare the desert pitch)

Alright, so it's a bit dusty, but there's an oasis nearby, and all visiting teams and their officials will be supplied with international-class dressing rooms next to the pitch (which will be painted on to the ground prior to each match). Contrary to rumour, cassocks will not be used for goal posts. Proper goal posts and crossbars will be be erected prior to each match. Nets, however, might be trickier to arrange. Visiting fans will be asked to sit on the sand dunes.

OOC: I realise my team might present a role-playing challenge. Rest assured that once they start playing they'll play just like any other team (though they might be a bit more inclined to pray after scoring), so I have no problem with you treating the team like any other if you don't want to deal with the Orthodox Christian element.

THE HOLY EMPIRE WC 40 ROSTER:

[OOC - Note for newbies: the Holy Empire of Alasdair I Frosticus participated in the very first tournament, and is one of only a couple of remaining active teams to have participated in the first four tournaments (though the nation took a long break between WCs 7 and 25). For all that history, they've never once made it past the Quarterfinals.]

At the insistence of their Starblaydi assistant coach - who threatened to resign - the Holy Empire Football Association wish to announce that the blancmange fiasco has been set aside, and that the Imperial squad will consist of eleven proper footballers drawn from the best club sides in the Imperial League, just like the very earliest squads from the first four World Cups.

They can't do any worse than the blancmanges....

For those who follow these things, this is a squad remarkably light on minority Chacan citizens.

For further information on the Holy Empire, the Dreamed Realm and other relevant background detail, please go to the now slightly out of date the Holy Empire NS WIKI page (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/alasdair_i_frosticus.html) (that's a link, newbies). Assume all football matches will be taking place in the Imperial Hippodrome

Please remember that 'The Holy Empire' is the preferred name for this nation in IC media reports. 'Frostican' is an acceptable adjective. I'm perfectly happy for you to use 'Alasdair I Frosticus' and 'AIF' in OOC posts and threads.

And my RP preferences?

Feel free to do whatever you want short of attacking, damaging, or in any other way harming the Holy Empire, the Dreamed Realm, the Archregimancy or their people. And remember that A) travel to the Dreamed Realm is only possible through specially-constructed portals, and B) violent behaviour by visitors to the Dreamed Realm results in immediate and instantaneous deportation.

Stadium well Pitch
Due to An Blascaod Mór's hilly terrain, there is no where flat for a football pitch so the team play their games on the neighbouring island of Beiginis. Getting across to Beiginis though requires a ferry first of all to An Blascaod Mor before getting a dingy across to Beiginis which means the trip cannot be done if the seas are very rough or their is a bad storm. In these circumstances the team play their games in the village of Dún Chaoin (English name: Dunquin), the nearest village in Sorthern Northland and the place from where the ferry to the island departs.

An Blascad Mor will naively try to score one more than you.

RPing notes.

An Blascaod Mór is a tiny nation which is proud just to represent itself on an international scale. Even a 7-0 thrashing will be deemed a success if someone who had never heard of the country before learns of it (and the local pub is good, even a clean sheet or a goal will merit a national holiday). All 143 citizens of the island will be at the tournament supporting the team and will be about as load as 143 people (minus the 17 players) can be. Neutral fans are also welcomed with open arms by the ABM support. A large number (roughly 1,500) of Sorthern Northland will also be there to support their neighbours. The nation also leads a perhaps primitive lifestyle lacking things such as roads (and therefore all forms of transport except donkey and boats), TV's, computers and electricity and the like. This is not to say they are unaware of these things and find them foreign as they can be found easily should an Islanders visit the Sorthern Northland mainland. The players will though find big city's and playing in a ground that is more than just a patch of grass a new experience.
Yafalonia and Bazor 2
20-08-2008, 06:33
Football Association of the International League of Yafalonia and Bazor 2, unofficially it is also known as Football Association of the International League (FAIL), but as Football Associal of the International League of Yafalonia and Bazor 2 is too weildy, most people call it fail.

FAIL's HARD Inter-International Team is Headed up by Yafalonia's Narin Valandar, and Bazor 2's Bob Tresgovsken.

Foward - Racheal Kneal(Bazor 2) - Rachael is known for her goal celerbrations, they leave alot to the imagination as she somehow makes people think she'll whipp of her top with-out ever doing so.

Forward - Miso Kite (Yafalonia) - Miso is, and will continue to be, the greatest striker who has ever lived. When he was young, there were questions about whether he was so good that he was "above maturity", but now, as he as gained six months of age, those questions have disappeared. Miso remains the only striker in history whose injury in a season is enough to make people accept his club's bad season easily. In his spare time, Miso saves cats from trees and helps old ladies across streets. Oh, and he can fly, too. He is Miso Kite after all.

Defender - Umar Ventrarar (Yafalonia) - Big, tough, and stupid. He's pretty much your prototypical center defender. What he can't knock down, he runs over.

Defender - Barelien Koliensar (Yafalonia) - Less big and less tough, but he's still pretty stupid. Instead of trying to run things over, he tries to "surreptitiously" knock people down, resulting in a lot of fouls and a lot of cards from the referees.

Defender - Mashan Vaginicinar (Yafalonia) - He's the Yafalonian all-time track star. He's a sprinter and a long-distance runner. If you're near the goal, he'll come in time and stop you. He can run up, too. He's got enough stamina to not be tired. His one problem is, you know, stopping...

Midfield - Daris Caollan (Yafalonia) - He's actually the governor of a province in Yafalonia and Bazor 2 - he's a politician and has run for office. In fact, the only reason he's even got on the team is because he managed to start a petition and pressure the government, and do all kinds of things like that.

Midfield - Raethar Vanlaez (Yafalonia) - Caollan's running mate. He spends his free time as a male model.

Midfield - Frederick Hammerstead(Bazor 2) - Not afraid to get dirty, Frederick is never clean, infact somehow he manages to damage almost anything he comes in contact with.

Midfielder - Peter Pumpkin-eater(Bazor 2), Yep he eats Pumpkin's, no one is aware of his proper lastname but who cares... He eats pumpkins raw everywhere he goes... How he makes a good football player is anybodies guess.

Defender - Harry Delany (Bazor 2) - Harry, is oddly very long, he stands 211cm (7' 3") perhaps more at home in the basketball ring, his long legs make for great control of the ball, and greater talking range as well.

Keeper - Graham Noh'arms(Bazor 2) - Graham is notable in the team for the lack of arms, apparently after an altercation with King Arthur in which he lost his arms (claiming it was only a flesh wound). Graham gave up hs job as the black knight and started playing football. "You don't need arms for football!" That's his famous quote, however one might argue you need arms for being a goalie.

RP Permisions. Everything allowed. GODMODING ENCOURAGED FOR HUMOUR!

Ad'ihan play a 3-1-2-1-3 (diamond) formation.

Manager: Luke Evans, 44
[INTERIM while NS Olympics is on: Alex LEWIS-EDWARDS, 39]

Starting Goalkeeper: Martin Kawn, 24
Kawn, who plays his club football for Oldbridge City, is hot-headed at times and has been sent off three times in his career to date — an amazingly high number for a young goalkeeper.
Subs: Ben Ropes, 31, and Danny Evans, 22.

Starting Left back: Sean Brown, 19
Sean Brown, just 19, is an up-and-coming star with Kinney Road in the Ad’ihani league. He steals a debut World Cup qualifying squad position ahead of aging veterans John Bristow, 32, and Kenneth Quinn, 31.

Starting Centre-half: Richard Flahavan, 18
Richard Flahavan finally wins a starting spot in a very young defensive line for Ad’ihan after sitting on the subs bench in World Cup 41. Justin Stenstrom, 27, loses his starting spot and Jed Fisher, 31, another veteran, looks to be falling out of favour. Both are substitutes.

Starting Right back: Darryl O'Sullivan, 20, is the third of the new boys in defence, displacing 28-year-old Jeff Dustin. O'Sullivan plays his club football for Olympique Protectorat.

Starting defensive midfielder: Peter Schilling, 29 VICE-CAPTAIN
As one of the few foreign-based Ad’ihanis, it would almost be unthinkable for Peter Schilling to be dropped. And he hasn't, with Barry Miller, 29, remaining on the bench.

Starting right midfielder: Anthony Jones, 23 CAPTAIN
Vephrall-based Anthony Jones, at 23, continues in his role as the captain of Ad’ihan. The Stithis FE star (and Olympique Protectorat product) is very technically gifted and is touted as one to watch out for. Simon Labrie, 26, continues in his understudy role.

Starting left midfielder: Danny Jacobs, 22
In a surprise move, Danny Jacobs is promoted to the starting lineup, ahead of Luke Evans' nephew Phillip Brennan-Evans, 30, in a further sign that Evans is dealing out with the old and in with the new. Brennan-Evans remains on the bench.

Starting attacking midfielder: Jake Holmes, 27
Demot-based Holmes continues in his position as the attacking midfielder for the fourth straight World Cup. Greg Innisvale, 21, continues as his backup — but has been showing glimpses of form.

Starting strikers: Francis Yang, 25; Julian D'Abbo, 33; Kieran Ó Branagáin, 21
The only starting player above 30 to retain his position is the ever-present Julian D'Abbo. Francis Yang, now 25, also keeps his spot but George Connor, 26, drops to the bench in favour of Sorthern Northland-born Kieran Ó Branagáin, who will start his first cup. Steve Bryson, 28, joins Connor on the bench.

Coach- Bjorn Vorkmann- age 55- Bjorn was a great player in his day and was named as the team’s first international coach. Known to complain a lot when the weather breaks 50F it will be a test to see how well he’ll function in the warmer climates. He has chosen a mostly young team hoping their young blood will be more easily adaptable to the harsh warmer climates.

Strikers-
Albin Dufendur- age 22 (starter)- a young hotshot he has been known to heat up the field with his breakneck style of play.

Aina Luffindor- age 24 (starter)- a former model she got bored with that life and threw herself into her newest passion –soccer. No telling how long before she’ll be bored with this but male fans are hoping it will be a while.

Bernt Abransom- age 26 (reserve)- a member of the naval patrol squad on detached duty due to his skill on the soccer field. Bernt is an adept penalty kicker.

Forward
Ebbe Johanson- age 25 (starter) Ebbe was the star forward of the Anaboug Geysers and clear choice to make the world cup squad in its first go around. The best passer in the country and one of its better ballhandlers as well.

Eric Bjorkman- age 22 (starter) Eric is a solid all-round option on the field versatile enough to move up to striker or back to the midfield as needed.

Emilia Ohllson- age 21 (reserve) Emilia finished second to Ebbe in assists last season though she is not the ballhandler the other two are which explains her being relegated to the bench at this point.

Midfield-
Jasper Marley- age 24 (starter) the lone starter of British descent Jacob has been a steady presence on the field and is nicknamed the ‘General’ for the way he controls the field of play.

Hanna Taube- age 24 (starter) Hanna is the neice of Coach Vorkmann and many feel that is the only reason why she is here. However she has been one of the league’s better players though few would claim she was an elite player. She will have to earn her spot in the eyes of many.

Henrik Anderson- age 27 (reserve) thought by many to be the one deserving of the starters spot he surprisingly doesn’t seem bothered by the decision. The best defender of the three midfielders on the roster.

Defense-
Jon Dahlin- age 26 (starter) the three time defender of the year Dahlin is considered the linchpin of the defense and has a lot of pressure on him to carry the team to respectability.

Karl Goranst- age 22 (starter) The German rep of the squad has made his way to the team by being the top defender on the Hodulou Huskies in their run to the league finals last season. He is expected to be a solid compliment to Dahlin on the other side.

Kristina Uggla- age 20 (starter) Kristina was this year’s rookie of the year in the league and big things are expected from her in the future.

Lara Kraft- age 21 (starter) Lara is the daughter of Olle Kraft- a former soccer star in his own day before his tragic death at sea some 12 years ago. Picking up where her father left off Lara has been showing signs of improvement in both her seasons in the league.

Paul Kraft- age 18 (reserve) the younger brother of Lara, Paul is expected to one day better both his sister and father on the field though his presence here this time is to primarily gain experience at this time.

Coach- Lee Andrews- age 59- The New Othydoxic Christian Church of Reborn Othydoxian coach returns for a fourth try hoping that it will be the charm after three straight Cups where he has brought the team to the knockouts. His claims that only anti-Lord of Score rules prevented the team from moving beyonfd the first round of the knockouts yet again and guarantees this will not happen this time. However there is some pressure on him for the first time as fans have grown tired with repeated round of 16 knockouts that has kept the team from breaking into the top five in the world.
-------------Wilkes--------S.MacDougal
Boyle----------Smith-------------Wilster
------------Ortan----------Michaels
Stossels--------Lees--------Leigh
---------------------Hinmore---------------

Keepers-
G-Connie Hinmore- age 23- starter- Winning the starter’s job outright this Cup, Hinmore is expected to be ready to handle the full time load. With Mitchell available again if things go bad, she is expected to do well this time.

G- Matt Mitchell age 38- reserve- In his final Cup, Mithcell hopes to be a stabilizing influence on the two younger keepers on the team.

G/D- Karl Orlan age 18- reserve- The youngest player on the team Karl had actually spent a few matches playing defense when injuries took out the starters near the end of this season of league play. It is thought this versatility is the reason why he’s on the team as Tynelia has not carried three keepers in a long time.

Strikers-

F- Mandy Lynn- age 36- reserve- Also in her final cup Lynn hopes to go out on a strong note and can still be effective in what is expected to be limited playing time.

F- Sally MacDougal- age 27- starter- In her third Cup Sally, steps into her uncle’s role on the attack to ensure for a ridiculous number of Cups in a row that a MacDougal shall be on the team.

F- Brian Wilkes- age 26- starter- part of the youth movement for the Hippos this time around as the old stars head off to retirement, He has a cannon for a leg though his accuracy has improved since last cup. Still his attacking style of play made him a must fit for the team.

Forwards-

F- John Wilster- age 36- starter- Mr. Flamboyance has mellowed slightly since the last cup as he has reportedly cut down to 4 endorsement deals this past year to give himself a little extra time to fine tune his game. This is in part because of amore serious effort of getting into shape for the cup. We’ll see how that works out.

F- James Boyle- age 29- starter- The four time assists leader in the league returns again to run the offense despite his presence at the wing. With Logan Smith ready to attack at a moment’s notice Boyle realizes that the offense is his to work out. Some fear this may make the offense too left side heavy but it remains to be seen how this will work.

F- Logan Smith- age 33- starter- A fourth option at striker as well, Smith has moved into the starting lineup this time around. In fact taking the middle of the field at forward he has been known to slide up to the attacker’s spot and turn the 3-2 into a 2-3 without warning. With two good playmakers at the wings this could prove to be an effective maneuver for the Hippos.

F- Greg Haxor- age 20- reserve- expected to see a lot of playtime due to the veteran line ahead of him. Haxor was known for both his ball handling skills and the amount of fouls he seems to get each match.

F- Anya Hibburt- age 22- reserve- a more steady, all round forward, she was the last player chosen for the team as Coach Andrews felt an extra forward was necessary with all the older platyers on the team.

Midfielders-

M- David Michaels- age 31- starter- Finally healthy, the player with the worst luck ever finally makes it on the team after pre-qualifiers freak injuries kept him out of the last two cups. Despite the injuries he has once again bounced back as a reliable influence at midfield with good instincts and quick feet to quickly turn an opposing attack into one of his.

M- Kyle Ortan- age 24 starter- getting the starting nod this time, Ortan is very quick and covers a lot of ground on the field. He has been known to end up out of position at times when pushing the ball up, but this is the aggressiveness the coach is expecting.

M- Gordon Thems- age 23- reserve- a good defensive minded midfielder his more cautious approach could come in handy if the team gets a lead late.

Defenders-

D- John White- age 35 reserve- The six time defender of the year and an excellent lane blocker and angle breaker, White hopes to return the defense to the form that won the System Karela award three cups back in his final WC.

D- Jacob Stossels age 30- starter – A four time defender of the year in his own right, he and White have finished 1-2 in seven of the last ten years in the voting though this was the first time White failed to make the top five as Stossels finished second this year.

D- Cindy Leigh- age 29- starter. Now firmly established as a defender Leigh makes her first start in her second cup. The quickest member of the team she has been heard to have other players saying she comes from nowhere to break things up. The current defensive player of the league this season.

D- Wallace Lees- age 23- starter- A solid player has developed these past couple years and gets the starting nod this cup as White has lost a step since last cup.

Penalty kickers- 1)Lynn, 2)S.MacDougal, 3) Wilkes 4) Smith, 5) Wilster

ANOTHER SEASON, ANOTHER WORLD CUP!

(OOC: Cafundéu’s players are two years older than in WC 41)

Style: +2.5

CAFUNDÉU RELEASES THE OFFICIAL LIST OF PLAYERS FOR THE 42nd WORLD CUP – the one at home!

Finally, it’s time for another World Cup to happen in Cafundéu. Everything is getting prepared, and surely this event will be unforgettable. Stadiums are having their infrastructure improved, hotels are expecting many visitors, the economy is being benefited as a whole... these are perfect moments for the country to profit with such a big event. And, although the most important part of the World Cup is the money that it’ll bring to our country, we’ll also have the opportunity of watching good football games involving the best countries in the world, happening in Cafundéu and Septentrionia. The Cafundelenses are anxious to see the decisive matches.

But, what about our National Team? Of course the Cafundelense team is getting prepared too for the competition, to try to reach a stage in the World Cup which it has never reached before. Last time the campaign was average, and this resulted in another coach change (the coach is always the guilty one!). This time, Eduardo Bosschaart will command the team. He is an experienced coach, and won many titles, especially with Cafundó do Juta. So, our players are in good hands. Once again, 26 players were called, although 3 of them (numbers 25 to 27 – 24 is a forbidden number) won’t be included in the team for the World Cup, playing in friendlies. There are backup players in case of injuries that can be used.

(IMPORTANT: use the names in BOLD of my players when write your RPs [if they are involved], please, as these are the names that they use when playing [the names in their shirts], don’t use their full name [unless it is the bolded one], as most have big full names and the Cafundelenses use nicknames exactly due to this situation. Also, don't write the nicknames of the players with the quote marks [the ""]. This and the observation below are the only 2 things that I ask about this issue)

(IMPORTANT 2: please do not write the names of my players in all capitals, this is important for me too. When writing a name of one of my players in your RP, write like you would write a name for any other player [don’t forget to use the one in bold]. For example: write “Augusto César tried a long ranged shot...” instead of “AUGUSTO CÉSAR tried a long ranged shot...”)

See the list of the 26 players:

Goalkeepers:

1- JÚLIO SAMPA (Team: Galáxia)
Height: 205cm - Weight: 90kg – Age: 29 years old
Talented goalkeeper, who has some problems when playing important games (gets nervous easily). Could be a starter in the National Team before, but was caught in the anti-doping three seasons ago, for using a medicine to lose weight. Is very good in reacting fast and in getting the ball in the air too, as he is very tall. Doesn’t have many friends and doesn’t talk very much, so his relationship with his teammates isn’t the best one. He seems to be happy with his life right now and motivated to play in the NT’s goal.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: C – Morale: A – Form: B
PLAYED WCs 40/41

12- BARTOLOMEU Bueno de Souza (Team: SC Lasft)
Height: 191cm - Weight: 87kg – Age: 26 years old
Bartolomeu already knew that he would be going to the National Team sooner or later. After playing very well in the youth National Teams, he showed a lot of maturity playing for his domestic team, won a deserved chance in the National Team. He is like a permanent reserve, and probably won’t be a starter in the World Cup, even if Júlio Sampa gets injured. Bartolomeu focuses on the game and it’s difficult to see him distracted. He is very cold and professional.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Form: B
PLAYED WCs 39/40/41

22- MOISÉS Salgado Alves (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 199cm - Weight: 102kg – Age: 33 years old
A good goalkeeper, who now lost a starting position in the National Team due to his age, which is affecting his performances. Moisés is a strong goalkeeper, who is good at tackling too (difficult to be dribbled). Sometimes he is a bit violent, but he is a kind person. He also drinks a lot of water, and when he plays, you can see a big gallon (10L) of water next to his goal. Very experienced, the pressure doesn’t affect him. Secure, is not the kind of goalkeeper that makes eccentric moves, and will do the necessary to make saves.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: B - Form: C
PLAYED WCs 37/38/39/40/41

Right Defender/Winger:

14- PAULO SANTOS (Team: Galáxia)
Height: 180cm – Weight: 76kg – Age: 25 years old
A player with already a lot of experience in football, Paulo Santos is an excellent option for the team, although he plays in a position that won’t be used during this World Cup. He is a very solid player, who follows the coach’s instructions with perfection and hardly makes mistakes. But his technical quality is far from the best, and he has difficulties in creating goal chances and counterattacks. Apart from that, he is a good player, and can even earn some chances during the game (probably won’t), maybe playing as a defensive midfielder or winger.
Rating: C – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: A

Left Defender/Winger:

16- Manoel Braga Ivanov "RUSSO" (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 180cm - Weight: 82kg – Age: 26 years old
His call-up was a reward for his good performances in the last seasons of the domestic league. In fact, the left-back position isn’t a necessity in this cup, so it’ll be difficult for him to get some playing time, unless he plays as midfielder. Very strong, is good at tackling and crossing, and makes some good offensive moves. Outside the field, is a quiet person, who doesn’t like to talk with the media. Also has a strong accent, as his parents aren’t from Cafundéu.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Form: B
PLAYED IN WC 41

Central Defenders:

2- Anatoliy TITOV (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 192cm – Weight: 88kg – Age: 26 years old
One of the most respected defenders of the Cafundelense league, Titov is a natural leader inside the field, and one that can be trusted when playing. With him in the field, his team mates seem more confident. Titov is an excellent defender, stopping the opponents from reaching the goal. Also, he is good at heading too, mostly due to his height. A strong player, he sometimes makes violent fouls, but nothing on purpose. Doesn’t like to attack, although can take penalty kicks (only in shootouts), with strength. Anatoliy isn’t Cafundelense, he is from Squornshelous, playing even in a World Cup for them (missing WC41 due to an injury). After the ceasing of its home nation, he was called to play for Cafundéu instead, which he accepted, saying: “My country doesn’t exist anymore, so I think I’m free to choose another one as my new home, and it’ll be Cafundéu.”
Rating: A – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: A
PLAYED WC 40 (Squornshelous)

3- ALEX Aorini (Team: Clube Imperial)
Height: 183cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 30 years old
Another player that everyone in Cafundéu knows that is good but only after many years received a chance in the National Team. Alex is a permanent starter, so responsibility is huge. Nothing that worries this player, who is already the captain of a strong Clube Imperial team. Very defensive, won’t appear in the attack, unless it’s a corner kick (can try to score with a header – and he scores a lot this way). In defence, he is amazing. It’s difficult for an attacker to avoid his marking. Alex is also famous for being the son of an influential politician, the mayor of Mondragon. He also appears in many advertisements, due to his fame with the women.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: C - Morale: A - Form: B
PLAYED WCs 40/41

4- Mertus GAËIF (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 173cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 26 years old
When a defender is considered one of the best players of the league while playing in one of the relegated teams, it must mean that this player has an enormous quality. And that’s Gaëif’s case. In a weak Petrol team, he was one of the few that made a good job, and now is in Petardos S/A. A fast defender, good at passing and taking the ball without fouling. Secure, can hold the pressure without problems. Also, he is very religious (he is Muslim) and likes to motivate his team mates with speeches.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: A – Morale: A – Form: B
PLAYED WC 41

13- Ronaldo Eugênio Diniz "RONALDÃO" (Team: CS Sept-Onze Ourseville [SPT])
Height: 193cm - Weight: 103kg – Age: 25 years old
Young defender, but with already some experience in his team, Ronaldão is an interesting choice. A very big and strong defender, will probably scare many attackers. He isn’t violent, but is so strong that sometimes makes bad fouls. He also lacks offensive abilities, but in defence he is excellent, stopping the plays from the opponents and securing his team’s area. Outside the field, likes to sing pagode music, and that’s why is called “the pagodeiro” by his team mates.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: B - Form: B
PLAYED WC 41

21- Luiz de Azevedo "LUIZÃO" (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 176cm - Weight: 73kg – Age: 24 years old
Luizão plays in Ranca Toco since he was fifteen, and is one of the most promising players of the Sarrafeiros for a long time. More violent than the other defenders of the National Team, likes to discuss with the referee, hit the opponents and complain. But usually he is able to refrain himself from receiving a red card. As a defender, he is very good at tackling and passing, and won’t attack much too. Outside the field, is known for his involvement in confusions and discussions about controversial issues.
Rating: C - Team Relationship: C - Morale: A - Form: B
PLAYED WC 41

26- Rick TOLEDO (Team: Dunboor FC)
Height: 176cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 26 years old
Known for his resistance, this player isn’t really a world class player, but is a good one, and an interesting option for the National Team. Is good at marking and is a strong player, so is a good option when someone from the other team is very dangerous and needs individual marking. Toledo has some concentration problems, and sometimes will get distracted and make mistakes. Overall, a good talent, but maybe still needs more to really reach the National Team.
Rating: C - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Form: A

Defensive Midfielders:

5- Henrique SILVEIRA (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 178cm - Weight: 73kg – Age: 26 years old
Some experts consider Silveira “the next Anormal”. Although Silveira doesn’t have the height and weight of the legendary player, he is also a nearly complete player. His passes are good, his shooting is strong and usually well placed, is intelligent as has speed. Has some problems with dribbling and heading, and that’s why he isn’t as complete as Anormal. But he is excellent at tackling. Really excellent. Takes the ball from the opponents without difficulties, and without making fouls. During the game (and outside the field too), is very polite with the referee and with his opponents, but when things get out of control, he has difficulties to control himself. Also, respect his coach more than anyone, being a good option for captain of the team, although he will have to dispute this title with the defender Titov.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Form: A
PLAYED WCs 40/41

6- José "ZÉ" SHO (Team: Atlético Jutense)
Height: 181cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 24 years old
Born in Cafundó do Juta, José Sho is the son of the legendary Ariddian defender Ke Sho, who now lives in Cafundéu working as Atlético Jutense’s coach. Working with his father, José Sho seems to have the same defensive qualities that made Ke Sho famous around the world, being one of the main responsible for Ariddia’s World Cup 32 and 34 titles. But Zé Sho is a defensive midfielder, as he has some offensive qualities that his father didn’t have. Good at defending, Zé can also score goals with his strong shot, and make interesting long ranged passes. Outside the field, is a talkative person, loved by the fans and with the confidence of his team mates. Has a huge responsibility to play like his father did.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Form: A
PLAYED WC 41

15- Jorge de Lara "JORGINHO" (Team: Dunboor FC)
Height: 168cm - Weight: 65kg – Age: 25 years old
Won the battle against Zé Sho to go to World Cup 40, but this time both are together. Jorginho is still a young player, but shows maturity and talent. Excellent in preparing counterattacks, this player has a good passing ability. Has a very good vision too, which improves his marking and ability in creating plays. But his best quality is his ability in shooting from a long distance. His long range shots can surprise every keeper. Has family problems, so his morale is low.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: A - Morale: C - Form: B
PLAYED WCs 40/41

Neutral Midfielders:

7- Roberto Wendison Renat DA SILVA (Team: Clube Imperial)
Height: 167cm – Weight: 65kg – Age: 31 years old
Da Silva is a very versatile player in the midfield. Started his career as a defensive midfielder, played many games as an offensive midfielder, worked well as a winger... it’s a very useful player. With fast dribbles and intelligent passes, he is good at creating deadly plays and making assists, and will surely play a major role in the National Team. In the NT, will play in a more offensive role, but can defend if needed. He is also known as a quiet player, but a very good guitar player, so he participates in the team’s parties.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: B
PLAYED WCs 39/40/41

20- Sílvio Cândido Bertrandt "SILVINHO" (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 175cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 27 years old
A good player, who was considered a player of enormous potential since he appeared in the U-21 squad. The fact that he is a Petardos S/A player harmed his development a bit, as he didn’t had opportunities of playing, due to the concurrence of world class players in the team. But now he is getting his deserved playing time, and showing that he is really a player of quality, being even a starter in the TQCC final. Is a fast player, good at attacking, passing and dribbling. Doesn’t score many goals. As a person, he is kind, but a bit shy, and will speak only the necessary with the press.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: B

27- Fábio Germano Santos "FABINHO" (Team: Central United)
Height: 168cm – Weight: 66kg – Age: 21 years old
The youngest player of the National Team won’t participate in the World Cup this time, but will surely appear in the next editions. Fabinho, originally a defensive midfielder, started to play well in the offense and in the wings too, being a very versatile player. His long ranged shots are deadly and his passes are very good, so he can make many assists. His best talent is his positioning, he seems to be always in the right place at the right moment. He isn’t a physical player or a dribbling one, his main flaws. But he is a player for the future. Is talkative and confident of his qualities, something that helps him to play well too.
Rating: C – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: B

Attacking Midfielders:

8- AUGUSTO CÉSAR Menegatti Soares (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 172cm - Weight: 70kg – Age: 28 years old
This player is the funniest of the team. In the hotel or in the trainings, he loves to tell jokes and to play tricks. So, everybody in the team likes him. He is also very famous for his relationship with a famous actress. As a player, he is fast and good at passing, but his defensive ability isn’t very good. His long ranged shots are excellent too, as his ability with free kicks and in going to the attack, but he has some positioning problems. A key player of the team, will probably be one of the top goalscorers of the team, and maybe one of the best players of the entire competition.

PLAYED WCs 39/40/41

11- Fábio MOREIRA (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 176cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 28 years old
“He should be in the National Team earlier.” Words of the coach Caio Meback (fired after WC40) about Moreira. Fast and an excellent dribbler, Moreira is one of the key players of his team, but was only called to the National Team now, after being in the “B” NT for many years. Already famous inside the country, the supporters know that Moreira can decide games with his passes and crosses, and that he’ll be a key player in the team. His speed can help the team in counterattacks too. Moreira is a quiet person, very shy, so he doesn’t like the press very much. But this doesn’t mean that he isn’t a kind person. Can also take free kicks, but he isn’t an expert.

PLAYED WCs 40/41

17- Carlos MAROSSI (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 179cm – Weight: 71kg – Age: 28 years old
Marossi reached success in football when he was already older than 25, which is not common among the Cafundelense players in the National Team. His performances in Khalmar-Tijhus were impressive. At that time, his best abilities were his accurate passing and good crossings, but now he has improved his dribble too, making him an excellent player for creating goal chances. Now he finally got a contract with a top team, Ranca Toco, and will probably continue his good performances in his new team. Outside the field, is a very sociable player, and knows many languages (loves to talk with the referee if he knows his language). During the game he sometimes complains too much.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: A

19- Luís Flambert TOBIAS (Team: South Coast United [JSY])
Height: 168cm – Weight: 64kg – Age: 27 years old
Another player developed in Galáxia, Tobias impresses the fans of his team in the UCS with his extremely advanced technique. Is one of the most technique players of the National Team, being an expert in dribbles, stylish passes and shots. Sometimes these moves aren’t so useful, but he is ever trying to do some of these. Likes to impress the media with his declarations, and likes to show his footballing quality, an adept of the “jogo bonito”. Considered by some not efficient. The fact is that his moves seem usually taken from a futsal game, because of their speed and perfection.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: A – Morale: C – Form: B
PLAYED WC 41

Attackers:

9- ARISTÓTELES Bueno (Team: Clube Imperial)
Height: 170cm - Weight: 68kg - Age: 32 years old
The call-up of Aristóteles shows that the coach Eduardo Bosschaart really prefers experienced players. This Cafundéu NT is probably the oldest in average age of its history. But that doesn’t mean that Aristóteles didn’t deserve to go to the National Team. He slowly made him name famous inside Cafundéu, first as an opportunist attacker, while in Atlético Insular, now as a tactical attacker, who can predict where the ball is going to get the right position to score the goal. His intelligence helps him to avoid opponents and scores when he isn’t expected to appear, so he is a top player. He also is an intellectual, and participated in serious discussions on the television (about controversial issues).
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: A – Form: A

10- FABRÍCIO Nogueira (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 190cm – Weight: 97kg – Age: 28 years old
A young star that suddenly received a lot of media attention. He has a lot of determination and is very tall, something that helps him at heading the ball, and, as a result, gives him more physical strength. His performances aren’t consistent, so he often gets substituted during the game. Played during one season in Atlético Jutense, and his bad performances there cost him the exit from the NT last cup. Now, he returned to good form, and to his team Cafundó do Juta.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: A
PLAYED WCs 38/39/41

18- Altemir Franco Siqueira "CARECA" (Team: Marquez-Onwere [C&M])
Height: 187cm – Weight: 92kg – Age: 28 years old
Careca is a common nickname in Cafundéu, so we must make it clear that this isn’t the Careca that played in SC Lasft, is the one that started his career at Cafundó do Juta. He impressed the experts since his debut in the Cafundelense league, mainly due to his extremely good positioning and heading ability. In corner kicks, he is usually the target man inside the area, to where the crossing should go. He scores more goals heading than shooting. A nice person, likes to go to parties, to hear rock music and to play videogames. Inside the field, can be a bit violent, provocating the opponents.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: A – Morale: C – Form: B
PLAYED WCs 40/41

23- DANILO SAMPA (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 198cm – Weight: 91kg – Age: 25 years old
Younger brother of the goalkeeper Júlio Sampa, both are considered at having approximately the same potential, but playing at different roles, of course. Danilo Sampa is a typical goal scorer. Good at dribbling, shooting and heading, but horrible at defending or making assists. Is a good option when the team desperately needs a reference player inside the area. Is very different from his brother in personality, as he likes to talk a lot and to make friends with all his team mates.
Rating: B– Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: B

25- FAUSTO Hernandez (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 166cm - Weight: 65kg - Age: 26 years old
An enigmatic player, Fausto is unpredictable. When you think he is going to dribble, he shoots. When you think he is going to cross, he dribbles. So it’s very difficult to mark him. His dribbles are sensational, but his finishing ability really needs improvement, as he loses many clear goal chances. He doesn’t participates in corner kick chances too, staying away from the area. He also is a bit impatient with his team mates and often argues with them, so he isn’t the most nice of the people, having even some enemies in the football world. Is arrogant, but he knows when he made a mistake and apologizes.
Rating: C - Team Relationship: C - Morale: A - Form: A

The 6 alternative options:

Goalkeeper: Francisco KARDEC (26 years old, playing in América)
Full-Back: RENILDO Carvalho Peixoto (23 years old, playing in Petardos S/A)
Defender: André VASCO (28 years old, playing in Atlético Jutense)
Defensive Midfielder: Charles JULES (21 years old, playing in Dunboor FC)
Offensive Midfielder: Reginaldo ROSSI (23 years old, playing in América)
Attacker: HUBERT Munch (23 years old, playing in Atlético Insular)

Staff:

Coach: Eduardo BOSSCHAART (Former Cafundó do Juta coach)
Height: 172cm - Weight: 65kg – Age: 48 years old
The decision of the CCFM of calling Eduardo Bosschaart to coach the National Team wasn’t a surprising one, but changed the coach style that the organization preferred. Bosschaart is a younger coach than the former ones (Sodré, Neves or Braddock), and is less tactical. He likes games played with a lot of technique, and gives a lot of creative freedom to his players. In his trainings, he alternate intense physical exercises with simple exercises of basic abilities. The players like him a lot, as he knows where and how to use each player. And, to finish his bio, his career is a victorious one, in both Khalmar-Tijhus and Cafundó do Juta, which makes the CCFM have confidence in his work with the National Team in such a important cup. But, although the directors seem to like him, he must remember that, when the team fails, it is always the coach’s fault.

Assistant Coach: GANZ IJAK
Height: 182cm - Weight: 93kg - Age: 50 years old
The legend. The player who carried the team to qualify for World Cup 32, when Cafundéu was just the Baptism of Fire runner-up nation. The CCFM hired Ijak to help any coach that takes the team. In fact, Ijak was hired because of his popularity, which would be good for the morale of the players, as Braddock can do the entire job alone, without help. It was a good marketing move too, as Ijak has a good relationship with the fans.

Spy: PAI Oxossi de Guibar DINAH
Height: 158cm - Weight: 64kg – Age: 100 years old
Pai Dinah(or Pai Oxossi) is the spy of the team. He says that he can discover the deeper secrets of the opponent talking with the opponent players and using his secret talents. He is a very strange person and many people say that he is crazy. But he does his work well, and most of the times he discover the secrets of the enemy.

Physical Trainer:Nélson Barcellos "NELSINHO SAÚDE"
Height: 194cm - Weight: 111kg – Age: 52 years old
A happy and funny trainer who enjoys working with professional players. Likes to live a healthy life, avoiding heavy food, lack of physical exercise and many other things. He is also very worried with the environment. Nelsinho Saúde may be a nice person, but, when working, is very professional and the players will have to work hard to satisfy him. A necessary thing, as this is a National Team.

P.TRAINER IN WCs 40/41

Entertainer: SERGINHO MALLANDRO (Former TV Gazeta)
Height: 175cm - Weight: 88kg - Date of Birth: ??? (above 50 years old)
The players and the staff need to be relaxed to play all the games. So, Serginho Mallandro's job is to make jokes, play games and help to make everybody happy. Sometimes he can be a bit annoying with his phrases like "Glu-glu", or "Bilu-bilu tetéia" and other ones, and even the directors don't like him very much, but he will stay with the NT. He also works with the female NT.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: C - Morale: A - Confidence: Z

Doctor: Dr. ANITA MUNHOZ (Former Faculdade de Medicina)
Height: 163cm - Weight: 50kg – Age: 38 years old
With Tatiana leaving the country to work in an important foreign hospital, the CCFM hired one of her best friends, the doctor Anita Munhoz, to take her place. She has the same style of her friend and is competent enough to handle with the injury problems of the National Team, so she was a very good choice.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: B - Confidence: B

The Directors:

Honorary President of the CCFM: Head Counselor and Counselor-Minister of Sports Erasmo Carlos JOWENGUARD
Age: 97 years old
Jowenguard's family is one of the founders of the CCFM. He was the president of the CCFM for more than 30 years, but health problems made him renounce. Then, he took the job of director of the National Teams(less important), still having great influence in the CCFM and in the CFFC, choosing the NT coach and changing some things that he shouldn't change(I won't give any details about it). After another 6 years as president of CCFM, Jowenguard retired, but will continue with the title until his death. He is now the Head Counselor of the country too, so is an important political figure.
Rating: A - Influence: A - Morale: A - Confidence: A

Acting President of the CCFM: Carlos Alberto URUBUPUNGÁ
Age: 54 years old – Time in the job: 3 years
The former vice-president of the CCFM was the chosen one to substitute Erasmo Carlos Jowenguard in the command of the CCFM. A safe choice, as Urubupungá knows well how the CCFM works and is likely to work with the same style of Jowenguard. An economist, Urubupungá will use his knowledge to bring more profit to the organization as a whole, something very appreciated by everyone. Also, has a good relationship with the teams chairman. The only doubt is if Urubupungá will be able to keep the fame of the CCFM around the world.
Rating: B - Influence: B - Morale: B - Confidence: B

Director of NTs: Counselor-Minister of Marketing RONALDO BUSTOS
Age: 62 years old - Time in the job: 5 years
It didn’t seem a good idea to satisfy the Globo Multimedia directors giving the job of Director of NTs to the son of their president. In fact, it wasn’t a good idea. It’s not that the CCFM is dependent on Globo Multimedia, it’s the opposite. So, the Emperor decided to just appoint one of his Counselor-Ministers for the job. As the job of NT director involves promoting the image of the National Team through the world, he chose the Counselor-Minister of Marketing Ronaldo Bustos, famous for creating good advertisements and improving the image of the country.
