I haven't been on in a while

So, I stopped going on... I don't know, a while ago. Now I started again. I'm just wondering what happened to the United Nations. Did it turn into the World Assembly? And if so, why am I no longer a part of it?

Oh, also I was looking at The World Assembly a minute ago, and I'm sure I saw that somebody got kicked out for not following the regulations. How does this happen? I thought they were automatically set.

This thread probably goes in gameplay, most likely, but since it's here...

The real life United Nations basically sent Max a letter stating that he was violating copyright law in his use of the UN on NS, so he was forced to change it to the World Assembly. More about that is here: http://www.maxbarry.com/2008/04/02/news.html

Presumably, being kicked out for not following the regulations most likely means that someone had more than one nation in the WA, which is against the rules. And you were dropped out of the WA, if your nation had expired in your absence.

Tranfer to the WA was not automatic. My puppet with membership had to re-apply (don't worry, only the one puppet had membership in either)

I'm sorry I think it must have been a bug for you then, Curious Inquiry, for my UN nation was instantly changed into WA without anything from my end. It was initially changed on April 1st, since something always happens on April Fool's Day, so everyone thought the change was a temporary joke. Then, the next day the WA was still there, and Max Barry revealed his letter. They played it out as a fake April Fool's Joke that was actually real, and for the joke everyone's nation did remain WA...

Huh. That's odd. But I was inactive when the change was made, so mine obviously didn't get switched.
