When, where, how and what the friggin heck is this baseball tournament?

How: It's a long explanation, but basically nations sign up to send teams to the World Baseball Classic 8. Then, someone chooses to "host" the event. The host has an Excel spreadsheet or some other program spreadsheet that runs the whole tournament-like what sport video games use when you simulate games. It's quite simply really.

Where: Here, of course. In this thread, and probably another specific thread.

When: Good question... I'd say in like a week.

Good call, Bluth Corporation-I am indeed out of town for a couple weeks as of...my last post in the D&BC thread. But the Zebras will attempt to defend their title! ;)

I look forward to hosting this competition. I have an absolute ton of regional hosting experience when it comes to baseball, so I promise you all a well run tournament.

We will provide stadium information over the course of the next week, and if the new ranking numbers have not been posted, I will take a stab at figuring them out myself. I would say, right now these would be approximate dates to when things may begin: Again, that word was approximate; :wink:

Aug. 8th- Signup closure
Aug. 10th- Group Draw Announcement
Aug. 13th- Game play begins

If you have questions, NOW is the time to ask them. We are at 17 teams, which is a good number. I will throw in a puppet to make an even number if it is necessary.

weve only got two new people so far Greal, and Jeruselem hmmm. we usually have half the teams being new. Time to recruit.

ive recruited everyone looked for everyone not signed up for the WBC yet on the ranks list, and asked. Also ive startted a new country WBC Recruiters for anyone to use when we come up with a new password. it should be used to recruit obviously and for an extra nation if neede and to start WBC sign ups. kjinda like NSWC signups

NO....We don't need a WBC Recruiter or anything like that.

With the BoF just starting out, the next Olympics and World Cup 42, not to mention the World Bowl going on, some people are burnt out on RP.

Besides, we have an even number of teams (18). which means either 6 groups of 3, or 3 groups of 6. But that is up to the Hosts, Newmanistan, who will probaly start this after the 2nd World Bowl.

18 is a fine number to start with, it's working well with the World Bowl. If someone needs to be reminded to sign up, they're probably not going to RP much, if any, anyway.

well im reaally thinking of Xaristan here. Last time i reminded him, and he rps a lot. Az-cz is still around and he used to to be pretty fierce competition he just wasnt around for the lasat one. Im trying to get people back for it. Like Kp nd Veph, im jusat relly trying to mke it more competitive. sa it usaed to be jusat me q zox, Corneliu, Milch, so i wnt more tems so it doesnt get like tht igin. I cnt do ees it sucks weird.

I understand your point, Taeshan. But 18 isn't a danger zone number, and look at it this way... you've gained me. ;)
Also, RP on any forum generally slows in the summer.

You know that though.... this just occurred to me.... the name of the thread could be keeping newbies from checking. It does not say “Baseball”. It simply says WBC. They don’t know what’s inside, and therefore might not be checking the thread.

On that note, that dates i posted earlier are final now.
