A dreaded party OOC thread.
Assume that each you got an invite so where is the party being held how do you get to Einheldorin. Why it’s simple you go to Mars. That’s right Mars. There is a nice site on Mars for the party, I’ll reproduce the thread where it was built on Mars Forums below…
But before I do that the rules for guests. You can bring as many as you feel sensible to, weapons beyond the ceremonial are to be left at home. Trust me you won’t need them anyway. The place is a fortress perfectly safe, if it was to be attacked well any weapons the guests may have won’t help.
There is nothing preventing violence being committed by any of the guests, except the Warlocks and Seers in attendance who will be armed and will take offence and violence. Do not offend the Eldar at their party:p
I’ve been vague as to what’s on Einheldroin, I have a few sites in my mind but when people are able to go there, feel free to create your own paradise. Just bear in mind the world was designed by humanoid beings, and so won’t necessary be a paradise for I don’t know Gas world born races.
When guests arrive they will each be introduced to a Courtesan of the opposite sex. This person is a skilled diplomatic and more importantly has been briefed on any reasonable to know information on your char. This Diplomat/Courtesan will remain with the guest for the entire duration, if not needed they will slip into the background.
Why are they there then, they are there for you lot, you want to speak to a person who your char doesn’t know, but who you think might be interesting. All the Courtesans know each other, and so can act as introductions and as plot spurs. They can and will advance conversations when needed, dance with chars when needed etc. Basically they are there to give your character as many options as possible.
Not much fanfare greeted the initial construction Wraithbone singers just moved into the waste land of Yvresse controlled Mars, and started to sing, deep in the heart of their territory far from any border they went to work. Raising quite a massive series of structures bunkers with static weapon emplacements and tunnels linking each of the strong points together encircling quite a large chunk of empty ground. Soon after the initial works began orders went out forbidding civilian access to an area extending even further beyond this enclosed territory, patrols of jetbikes and Grav Tanks departed from the first hangers constructed, enforcing this ban with permission to use deadly force if necessary. Although in these early days they would initially issue a stern warning first.
They didn’t explain their intentions, no statements where made beyond those necessary to make it clear that entering this exclusion zone would… be inadvisable. Soon the first ring of defences was erected and a new outer layer started, and so on, a vast horde of Wraithbone singers was now on mars and they worked seemingly without rest.
A month after the project started they moved on inwards, now an area within the defences was selected, here the work began on a starport, one seemingly large enough to handle a great deal of traffic, vast transport links where also installed leading to another area of empty ground within the defences, for much later. For now the elegant graceful forms of the distinctly Keigh port towered over the nearby defences looking out into the empty desert of Mars. It was strangely colourful, plant life glittered under near transparent domes protecting them from a lingering taint within mars, and yet the scent from delicate flowers somehow would seem to linger as if allowed to pass through the domes.
Elsewhere intricate carvings where sang into place, and small dioramas from Eldar history played out. They would show small snippets from larger legends for the careful viewer to admire. All this before they even began the final and most important building, whatever the intention of the port it was clearly meant to impress upon the visitor at the very least a fraction of the history of the Eldar.
With the Port mostly completed, merely a few artistic flourishes remained, the work turned in earnest to the main building. This would be something different in their eyes, it was to be a statement, if the port was an work of art, contained by a purpose and a need, this was to be unconstrained, free of the restrictions imposed upon a port. Where as at the Port the legends had been portrayed as mere snippets meant to impress upon the visitor the shear weight of the history of the Keigh, here entire walls where taken over by depictions of single events. Some maybe witnessed by the visitors, others from elsewhere. Eventually an entrance to this building was erected before it floated suspended by gravitics a flawless reproduction of Yvresse itself, a sight few of the expected visitors would see in reality. Every curve every dome was picked out in a different gemstone from a different world, each stone glittering in the light.
To further the draw towards the reproduction, no other ornamentation existed in that immediate area, the eye was drawn towards it because everything else was so commonplace. The only part of the entire structure that as this way, to the minds of Yvresse peoples, what other sight could compete with that of their home after all?
The insides would not be forgotten as Kionashi of other paths now flooded the area, working hard to add their own touches to the structure. The work continued without pause even as the last of the walls outside where sung into place, as the last fresco was completed and the majority of Bonesingers left their work completed.
Now through came the hardest part of their work, the most dangerous and most sure to gain at least a few raised eyebrows.
It started small lasting merely a few seconds but for those few seconds those sensitive to such things felt it. For the briefest of seconds a part of Mars was elsewhere as well as there. For the briefest of time, eldritch forces, that seemed to swirl malevolently over the world, gripped Mars and then it was gone. A few seconds later it picked up again the malevolence seemingly lessened but the feeling of something being off was there, the unnatural feel of it all was there, only to end once more
For a day or more nothing else occurred of that occurred, and then it picked up once more this time lasting for a whole minute, more than enough time to be tracked back to it’s location. The strange Yvressian project in the middle of the Martian wastes.
You may notice a lot of missing details as to the insides. If you want to arrive early there are bedrooms, spacious and luxurious, couples will be given of course double rooms groups linked suites, and people on their own singles. Each one is, well different but is decadent and has available a wide selection of drink and well other entertainments. If a nation has a favoured tipple, or a char a particularly well-noted one, an expensive example will be found amongst the drinks.
Obviously the Eldar are not all knowing so if a char is secretly not a drinker we won’t know this. If he or she however is noted for not drinking, said drink will be absent etc.
I guess for now this will do, if anyone has any questions etc…
