The Starblaydi Football Association presents:

The Sixth Di Bradini Cup
An Under-21 International Tournament

After the successes that were the Inaugural (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=537637), Second (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=540605), Third (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=546766), Fourth (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=550328) and Fifth (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=555514) Di Bradini Cups - and a massive 'thank-you' to everyone who has actively got involved in them - the Starblaydi Football Association presents the latest edition of its own Under-21 international tournament.

This tournament is named after Starblaydia's most-famous player, the first person to score for Starblaydia's own Under-21s, the current fourth-highest goalscorer in Starblaydia's history, member of the World Cup Hall of Fame and one President of the World Cup Committee. For the late Simeone Di Bradini (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/simeone_di_bradini.html), who passed away during World Cup 40's Qualifiers, we present, for your participation: The Sixth Di Bradini Cup!

OOC: A few points about this: Finishing positions in the previous tournaments will play a very minor role in this, but this tournament is very much influenced by RP, unless the scorinator decides to come down harshly on you, RP = teh win.

Time-wise, this tournament is designed to be a Pre-WC42 tournament, 4 years after the last Di Bradini Cup.

I'll be using a modified version of my old Rugby Union scorinator, which has a massive RP Bonus - if you've posted 3 great RPs and your opponent none at all, you'll probably win 6- or 7-0. 3 Great RPs each, and it might be 1-0 or 2-1. Simple, it's the difference between the two teams' RP bonuses that counts.

I will be scorinating all results and I will be participating fully. I'm not desperate enough to win my own cup by cheating during the scorination, if I wanted that I'd just RP my own cup with just my puppets. If you don't like it that way, don't enter, 'cos you'll only complain later if I happen to do well :)

Tentative sign-up, but roughly when are you planning to start this? (I know I always say I might be pushed for time, but this time it's true! :D)

Ideally once most people have been knocked out of the WC/CoH, but as the CoH is a little behind there may be some clashes.

Ar, gowon then, sign us up. I’m perfectly capable of budgeting my time and, if necessary, accepting a group stage exit with good grace...

After last cups absence (which we're sure was painfully felt by all nations :p ) we'll return providing we don't get stuck in an airport again. ;)
Newmanistan

We'll be back, with a largely new group of young Rockets!

For those worrying about a Cup of Harmony conflict, unless Starblaydia plans on starting this next week, I wouldn't worry about that big of one. We'll be moving the CoH right along once we start it (target start date is the 8th).

Following recent bids to take part in the BoF and the Oxen Cup, we are delighted to announce our young football stars of the future are bidding to take part in the U-21 cup.

With the earlier announcement of 2 or 3 of our tennis players putting themselves forward for the Wilbury championships, our bright young nation is starting to make the first steps on the sporting front to taking over the universe.

We await news of how many players are being put forward for this competition and whether some of the squad announced for the Oxen Cup will be able to play in this before linking up with the full team or whether any of the younger members who fail to make the cut for the Oxen Cup are able to take part in this U-21 football tournament.

One wonders when the U-21 tournament is likely to start. With the Oxen Cup ad the Baptism of Fire looking like clashing, will this be a 3-way pile up with the U-21 world cup also looming large on the horizon?

Mind you the 3-way pile up may not be a bad thing as after all it will allow even more of our players the chance to sign on an international stage and mean that when it comes to the World Cup qualifying, we will know just who can cope with the pressures of international football and who cracks under that pressure.
