Do you have any other countries that you would consider to be your rivals (IC), and if so who and why? I think this would be an interesting thing to know.

Probably Kose and The Turkomans since we both started this at the same time, and have pretty much stayed at the same level since.

Though in the long run, I really sense its gonna be Dancougar due to our styles and throwing in the Pittsburgh-Philly thing as we did in the Oxen Cup.

Rennidan consider Prux to be their rivals in football, thanks to a throw-a-way comment a Prux guy made about Rennidan 'not being that great'. Stuff like that gets Rennidanians angry, so, rivalry!

Other than that... not that I know of.

I'd go with Newmanistan, since we seemingly always end up in the same group, plus theres the BoF final, but look who's higher in the rankings now ;) another rival could be Nethertopia but since he's not been around lately (Or escaped my attention) he couldn't really count as much as Newmanistan.

Since Qazox has been around for a while, we have numerous "rivalries"

Qazox' rivals are:

Football(soccer)-
Minor rivals: Green wombat and Tynelia (all three of us are Class of WC27 but haven't meet too often since then). And possibly Az-cz, since I've played them 5 times in the last 5 Cups and/or qualifiers.

MAJOR Rivals: Jeruselem and Zwangzug (The former, due to 2 World Cup meetings and a qualifying group meeting, the latter because we've met so many times in the qualifying stage.)

Hockey: don't really have one but Kelssek and I have been there for just about every one and maybe the Orion Star Empire could develop into one.

Football (Gridiron): Taeshan really, cause we've been in all incarnations of it.

Baseball: Taeshan, Zwangzug and Milchama. Newmanistan could devolop into one.

The Archregimancy since we're a bunch of socialistesque, laical, karelan heathens :)

For Green wombat, Sativaville used to be ours, but since they are effectively gone form the scene, I guess it is Qazox, though like he said, we don't face each other enough. Other than that Prux. I've noticed that GW usually doesn't face the same teams too much, either your all scared (doubtful) or our bribes are working (even more doubtful).

Vonks insulted me in one of his BoF RPs, but that's just his RP style. Though, probably, ICly, he'd be my rival.

Qazox - played them in football tournies so many times it's not funny. At least the ledger is positive on our side.

Starblaydia - Always seem to run into them at the wrong time during the World Cup.

Heh...I don't think anyone will really get that OSE is me, so I'll speak up and say that if Qazox and I meet in the next WCoH there will certainly be fireworks.

My biggest rivals in Baseball are Qazox, and Milchama, Corneliu used to be a rival and know Newmanistan is

In soccer they are Daehanjeiguk, ive played him in mid qualifying friendliers every time and never lost but tied, and ive played the Bettians, and the Aif alot

Number one would be Kura-Pelland based on geographical proximity. Then there's Candelaria And Marquez, whom we'll probably never forgive for knocking us out of the BoF. Also Casari for beating us in the CoH final. And now probably Kose and the Turkomans as well for that fight in the stands during WC41 qualifying that killed one of my fans.

Shame KP and Casari aren't really active anymore, though.

I've played Wentland in WC Qualifying, and in WC39 in the Group Stage (beat them then);

I've played Bazalonia in WC39 also.

In WC41, I'm playing both of them once again (as the still significantly overranked dark horse with a limp knee). If they selected against me in WC42, I'm suing the WCC (at least Korea didn't get selected with Australia in the AFC Round4...)

Lucky it's not just the Dwarves who have incredibly long memories thanks to their Books of Sporting Grudges!

For those not in the know, Starblaydia/Iansisle is/was the premier Ice Hockey rivalry going back to the days of the Cherry Cup, which was a long, long time ago.

Throw in some Icebergs and Cassowaries with the occasional meddling Rabbits, Robots, or Ferrets and you have the greatest show in the fastest game on Earth!

Answering for both Dreamed Realm nations....

The Archregimancy's first true rivals were the heathen excelites of Kaze Progressa. They then had a friendly rivalry with fellow Orthodox nation New Montreal States. More recently, their primary rivals were Errinundera. All have fallen by the wayside, and no one's really replaced them, though Rejistania, Az-cz and Jeruselem have had their moments in individual tournaments.

As far as the Holy Empire of Alasdair I Frosticus is concerned (ICly), no other nation is worthy of rivallry since ordinary reality nations are beneath serious consideration as rivals. World Cup founders Ariddia were the only nation the squad had any real respect for, and even that was more mutual cooperation and respect rather than rivalry. With Ariddia withdrawing, the Holy Empire were also the last remaining active WC1 participants, so they didn't even have any historical equals left; the recent re-emergence of WC1 finalist Europa Britannia may challenge this perspective.

Zwangzug doesn't actually consider Qazox a major football rival, chiefly because our games have been fairly low-key affairs. (Mind you, if I was eliminated on the last day of qualifying by some upstarts who'd never made the proper, I might feel differently. ;)) Northern Bettia, our first opponents in the Baptism of Fire and then first opponents in the World Cup qualifiers, have a slightly better claim to that title...Of course, these longtime opponents always maintain the utmost respect (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13054610#post13054610) for each other. :)

Zwangzug doesn't actually consider Qazox a major football rival, chiefly because our games have been fairly low-key affairs. Only threw you in there 'cause we've met 6 times in the last 8 qualifying runs. Granted it's not a lot of meetings, but hell you're the only team I've played more than 5 times, not including Jeruselem.
